turboshaft (0) Uh, sometimes...but I am sure if I was running a porn site (if would be girls only material) I would be getting so "involved" in my work that I am sure I would frequently lose pics and videos.

Most of the time though I think it is a bunch of hype; just like all the other so-called limited time/collector's edition/previously unreleased junk that gets promoted. Come on, why would all these guys (and girls) shoot stuff just to never release it or "lose" it?

Drooler (Disabled) I think it's hype, even if the site had actually overlooked something intended for posting, which could only really mean that somebody didn't have their shit together.

The "Lost" Files. Wording like that is hype. It's like we're supposed to think, "Oh, wow. Could have actually missed that one, but fortunately they found it and now they're putting it up. Yes. This is something special. I'm getting a surge in hormone levels."

And then you look at it and it's nothing particularly different from the rest of the content. Yippee.

lk2fireone (0) Webmasters are human. Can they lose or misplace files? Sure, why not? Not everyone is as organized as efficiently as everyone else. And it's human nature for some people to try to promote themselves, so if they find some older pics and vids, they can say, "Hey, look at this great stuff we found."

On the other hand, they can also promote some pics and vids that were never really lost, but just say that the material was lost.

I know that I lose files on my hard drive all the time. I want to see pics of some girl, I can find some of them, but I know there're other pics of her somewhere. But where?

Need to organize my hard drive better. Just one more thing to do.

TheRizzo (0) I am sure the massive update sites like ATk, Karups etc would get in so much content at a time, it would be possible to have a set or girl get misplaced or mistagged as used. Feasible to me.

Wittyguy (0) Some of the lost stuff, especially photo sets, can happen or the photographer goes belly up and never sells his wares to production houses. However, what you usually see is the "rejects" or second rate stuff from a scene. So, I guess it depends but as a general rule I don't really believe it when I hear it.

pat362 (0) I must confess that I didn't really understand the question. I've never had a website claim to have lost material then later to say they found it.

PinkPanther (0) What I think of when I see the term "Lost" sets are sets that were not released at the time that the model was at her "hottest" or most in acclaim and then the web-master didn't think about her again for a long while. That certainly happens with ALS Scan. They shoot a LOT of material and their releases are guided by member feedback as well as the desires of the owner/director Alex. So it's easy for him to get more involved in releasing sets of newer models and have a stash of stuff that he shot of models that people stopped talking about - and then some member will e-mail him about "how come we never saw that one girl's set where she was sticking gum balls in her pussy?"

And he's say "Oh, yeah! I totally forgot about that! I'll put it on the schedule!"

It's not lost, it's just forgotten and never released.

Agreed, it's not "lost" in the sense that I mean. I mean when it looks like it's just hype.

ALS Scan never seems to hype the stuff. They just tell you in the blog that they've got material they've never released. They seem pretty much on the level.

OttifantSir (0) I believe there are possibilities for material to be "lost"/lost for a time.

I don't remember which show it was, but I believe it was a BBC show from the 60's. It was an in-house production, and due to a clean-up, they had lost the master tapes of the show. I believe it was in October of 2008 that a listener/viewer of the show came forth with the missing episode, enabling the public to view the entire show for the first time in more than 40 years.

With newer stuff, like the Cameron Diaz S&M sextape, the material might be "lost" due to bribes/sales by/to the actor/actress in question, and then a customer finds it again.

Or the webmaster(s) simply have too much content for one star at one time, and eventually interest runs out for a time.

Many reasons why material gets lost. Sometimes it's just hype, sometimes it's genuine. Most of the time it can be spotted in the way it's presented if it's genuine or not.

exotics4me (0) I believe it is hype combined with bad timing. Some models have their "hot" period and it bumps some material out in favor of the more popular model.

I look at the hype portion similar to the music business. I mean really, how many lost cds did Tupac record? I remember the Led Zeppelin lost live How the West Was Won cd set. Jimmy Page or Plant one said it had been under his bed in a box for two decades.

That is the other side that I guess with so much content that they could have a set or two get lost in the process. What I always wondered, do they have a person that is the found person that goes around all the time looking for these lost sets?
