I'm waiting till I have enough bucks from the Tuesday Raffle to buy my sound system. At the rate I'm going, that will be sometime in 3035, or thereabouts.

I'm single, no kids (that I know of), no bills and a good, secure job (at least until 2018). I buy whatever toys catch my fancy. My home entertainment system gives one the cinema experience. My computers, should I use them give me the same seperately and are wired into my home system should I desire better quality vid/aud.

I do want a nice sound system because I'm always complaining about how bad audio is on TV's. It's kind of a luxury right now. I'll get one one day.

I was in a similar boat to Talon when I built my setup. Glad I did it then cause I don't have the money now.

We live in an apartment building that is very "thin walled" so we got in the habit of watching our movies with headphones on. This way we bother no one and can have the sound as loud as we want.

I bought a Sony surrond sound in a box for about $200 a few years ago which came with a receiver, subwoofer, 2 right speakers, 1 center, and 2 rear speakers. It's actually very nice for the price and delivers loud and clear. I think it might even be cheaper to go this route plus everything looks nice and matches. I can only use it during the daytime because it get's so loud so I can only use it every once in awhile. But, when I can, it truly adds to the overall experience of the movie. I'd suggest getting one if you are a lover of movies in general!

I have a surround sound system but rarely ever use it. Besides, my headphones are 5.1 with subwoofer so I don't even really need it! :P

I don't own one yet, but it's on my list for this year. I only got a 40" flat screen LCD this year and that was more important than the sound possibility.

I actually have a better sound system with my computer than my TV, so I tend to get better sound when watching porn vids than most of the non-porn stuff I watch - love that surround-sound moaning - mmmmm!!

I used to have surround sound, but it's so much hassle to put all the speakers in the right spot and all those cables...
No when I bought a new tv, the sound on it was so good, there was no need for it anymore.

Since I mostly use my laptop for stuff and since surround sound speakers are so expensive (and also finding the room to put them in nicely)
I spent my money buying a great pair of headphones.
Might get wireless ones so I can listen to stuff whilst in bed but you can't beat a quality pair of Bose or Sennheiser

Use an Onkyo 7.1 system here which I'm very happy with. Detached house means I can turn it up as loud as I want but it does keep my daughter (who sleeps above the TV room) awake sometimes. Oh well - we all make sacrifices for others sometimes ;-)
