I know the question is hypothetical, but I believe I don't watch any porn that is downright worth to be banned in reality. However, if it did become illegal I'd say I would probably keep the stuff I have but not download anymore in risk of getting caught. Therefore, I guess I'd be a 'criminal'. But, like all hypothetical questions, who knows what I'd REALLY do in any situation. It's easy to say what you think you would do but plenty of times in these situations I said a certain thing but when the actual situation arised I actually did something else.

It's quite likely in the US that we'll have a government that will make porn illegal before too long - so many freaking right-wing hypocrital nuts.

I wouldn't share it. I'd keep it on my hardrive under a fake name in a password-protected file. It's sharing porn that get's you caught or downloading more...

REPLY TO #4 - PinkPanther :
Oh please, they believe in liberty and small government...except that usually only means taking liberty with the Constitution and making the government smaller when it comes to taxes.
You can take comfort that it is already illegal in much of the U.S., or it is on very thin legal ground that is getting thinner.

I'm with GCode, keep the stuff I have and try not to get anything new.
But it really depends if they enforced it or not. I believe porn, or at least some porn is technically illegal in a few states in US right now, maybe Utah. But people still download internet porn. I might break the law if they didn't care about it much.

I really don't have a clear understanding of what is legal porn and what might be illegal porn.
Personally, I think the community standard test for porn is stupid. The entire community does not vote on whether the material is porn. A jury does not completely represent the community, because the jury is only a small sample from the community.

Unless the government also had the rights to arbitrarily break into and search people's homes, I would probably keep what I had, but refrain from getting more.

Well in the UK.....enough said !
Anything you think "may" be illegal...probably is.
Fortunately, as long it involves adults, there are very few cases of prosecution, as long as you are not selling it.
I recently found out that peeing is NOT illegal in the UK.....I thought it was...and used to delete (securely)....any vids that had that (and many have).....but apparently it is only illegal if it is "onto someone else"......so guess what I did the very next day ?? !!
