External hard drives for around $100 USD (the "passport" variety with 500GB is my favorite) is easy to store (fits in your pocket). When it fills up you can simply get another and put the other in a drawer. There is no point in saving data to your main hard drive anymore.
It's a lot like notebooks (the paper old-fashioned kind). Just because I fill one up doesn't mean I stop writing.

I'd say both one and two...
'Stop downloading" - NEVER!
And oh, yes: RB has a point, LOL.
But still: Got two external drives (a 350 and a 500) - but I've only got something like 180 Gb left - and both are filling up in record speed.
And yes, I do delete a few videos now and then, but I'm damn reluctant - I dig my stash - but some has to go.
Thinking about getting a 1,5 Tb - there are some good deals over here at the monent.
I think the main 'problem' now is that for us video-freaks those files are getting larger and larger...
Fine and relevant poll, BTW.

I have a hard time trying to delete old porn, even stuff that is real junk. It's much easier buying a new external hard drive. But I have to learn to delete some of the junky files on my drives, because I can't find the good stuff that's buried under all the files I don't even look at.

You hit the nail on the head, lk2fireone.
There's a TV show "Hoarders" about people who can't throw anything away and live in houses full of junk that they can't use because everything is in chaos and mostly can't be found when needed. I've got to learn to throw away the junk to really enjoy the good stuff.

I recently faced that crossroad. Trying to structure all my drives to a certain type, the 500GB dedicated for porn was'nt actually enough anymore, so instead of have "special folders" I bought a 1TB disc, problem is moving it all to that disc...takes a while...

I delete shit because I cannot bring myself to buy a new hard drive for storing porn, why you ask? Because an unhealthy and expensive cycle will begin.
1. Fill HD with porn
2. Buy new HD
3. Buy new porn passes
4. Fill HD with porn.
5. Rinse & Repeat.
Fuck that.

I buy new drives. At present I am using 2 x 500MB (one full, one mostly full) and 1 x 1TB (350MB left).
That should be enough for anyone but I really like holding on to stuff and adding something new on a daily basis. What is so delightful is browsing those drives and discovering great stuff you had forgotten about or had never seen because you were too busy collecting. :-)

Yeah, it's might nicer than a hobby such as:
1. shoot innocent people with high-powered rifle through hole in trunk of specially adapted "DC Terrorist" car
2. relocate
3. reload
4. repeat
And I said I'd buy a new hard drive. In fact, I'm probably going to get ANOTHER ONE fairly soon. I'll shunt my videos on to that.
I collect mostly pics, and I'm really choosy about them. I already went through months of tossing out old stuff last year. Or was that the year before? Whatever. What's left is primo! It stays!

Delete 'em.
It's too much organizational effort for my liking to keep that much porn. There will *always* be something new to seek out and enjoy, so dump the old.

I dunno I just save everything and keep 'em on old externals. I'm kinda weird when it comes to porn, I attempt to d/l the whole site, watch it in alphabetical order and once I get to Z, I rarely watch it again. This is unless I found something so extremely great, I will watch it every once in awhile. So, once one fills up, I just buy another drive. Currently I am on my 4th 1 TB external drive and it is about halfway full. So, I am at about 3.5 TB total for my whole porn stash. I rarely delete, but then again, I rarely watch the content that I have already seen once or twice.

By the way, lol at the fact that no one has put to stop downloading as an option. If there's a will (?), there's a way, right!? Lol we are all such pervs here and I love it :)

Collecting porn can become obsessive if not handled right, and being obsessed with anything is unhealthy, I will just say this.
I have over 1000 normal porn dvd-r discs(joining rental sites), and then I have over 1000 porn data dvd-rs(joining paysites), that's crazy and expensive, so the less room I have to work with the better imo, but this is just me talkin about me.

That reminds me, I need a new external before the year is up.
Count me as one more porn hoarder.

I guess we want to get our money's worth from sites and not waste our subscription, though a new HDD is probably a lot more than giving up a membership. I mean really, what other choice do we have?!

1 TB external hard drives are now $100 or less. Anybody have any ideas on which is the best (most reliable, least prone to problems) regarding the model and manufacturer:
Iomega Prestige
Seagate
Western Digital

I used to buy hard drives as I got near capacity, but the last year or so I find myself deleting older stuff to make room. I find I just don't go back to watch a lot of the older stuff that often.
I have started making a best of drive to condense the old stuff that I do love from time to time.

I got the iomega this last time and the drive inside is actually a seagate. So you can get Iomega for less usually.
However I've had less issues with Western Digital than Seagates in the past.

I have about 3.5 Tb on my PC who needs external.
2 1.5 Tb Seagates in a RAID 0 Array (2.72 actual Tb)
2 WD 150 Gb Velociraptors in Raid 0 (279 Gb actual)
1 Maxtor 500 Gb (465 Gb actual
And no I don't use it all for porn. I DL 1080p & 720p HD movies from mvlib.com and graboid, rip DVD's and transfer old VCR movies as well.
