graymane (Suspended) If the question is asking us if we're too involved with, and/or spend too much time on our porn-viewing habits, then I'd have to say guilty as charged.
However, since Porn-Users crossed my path, my activities honky-tonking porn sites has taken a sharp nose-dive.
I've gotten so caught up in this institute of like-minded porn aficonados, from whence I've derived so damned much pleasure observing and sparring with the best, that I'm simply feelin' more at home right here.

I imagine the question is talking about those that take it a bit too seriously... It is just porn after all, what should one expect from a hastily shot, poorly budgeted porn film?

I'm not sure exactly what the poll question is asking.
But I think that when PU members spend money on a porn paysite, they are hoping for, or expecting, that they will get at least reasonable value for that money. That means the site should be easily accessible, easy to navigate, with contents that have both quantity and quality.

If the site contents (the videos and photos) are crap, or it is difficult to access the contents because of poor download speeds, or lousy navigation or other problems, then the PU member will feel he has wasted his money.

I am still trying to feel my way to what the poll question means: "Do you feel some users overthink thier porn?"

I doubt that many of us try to study porn like some people study the bible. But we certainly spend time trying to organize our porn collection. Which can take a bit of thought. That would be well spent, because a disorganized mess of a collection is extremely difficult to search through after the collection becomes large. And it's very easy for a porn collection to keep growing over time. You have to prune and weed out the junk, and organize what you have. Which takes time and thought.

Some of the more intelligent and thoughtful and organized PU members should take pity on the rest of us and create a software program that will let us organize our porn collection more easily. That way, we could spend less time trying to keep the files organized and more time enjoying the contents.

But, in general, I do not believe most PU members overthink their porn. They spend a lot of time trying to collect it, and some time trying to organize it, and maybe some time trying to enjoy it. And where is the time left to think about it, after all those other activities take up what is, after all, only a hobby?

I don't know anyone who really studies their porn like people who study great literature or great art.

Porn is more for enjoyment, rather than for study, I believe. Like popcorn movies are made for enjoyment, rather than for study.

pat362 (0) I took the question to mean that many of us get into the tiny details that make a site better or worse and which your average porn customer doesn't do. In that case , I don't think we overthink it because it's often the details that distinguish one site from all the others.

Your average porn guy that's started watching porn made in the last 5-10yrs might not care too much about lighting, camera angles, dialogue, makeup, clothing, foreplay, kissing, decent editing and many other things because he doesn't know any better.

jberryl69 (Disabled) Anyone getting that this question might be a bit ambiguous?

Seriously, I don't over think anything at my age, except when some wank director has his head up his arse and screws up the scene, then I just get pissed. But that's just letting my emotion get the better of my mind.

So I still have to answer the question, No.

OR... Is this question about Charlie Sheen?

yote78 (0) I responded, "No, not really."But, as if to contradict myself, I will point out that I am a member of a user group dedicated to talking about porn. Since joining, I've really enjoyed bouncing ideas off other PU members...It's really been a lot of fun. As far as porn goes, there's only one thing better than talking about porn and that's watching it.

nineinch (0) Porn has been said to have mind-altering effects. It is supposed to sensitize and desensitize you to different things. Some porn sites might even use this knowledge to try to control your thoughts. Their motive is clear - to make you a repeat customer.

Pornusers provides a way for us to think about the control that we have. As consumers, we do have more control. As porn users, though, we may be developing new obsessions, BECAUSE we give it more thought.

When you drink beer, you might say that you think the beer is hoppy or leaves an after taste. Some people don't care what kind of beer they drink, as long as it quenches their thirst. If someone told you there was a better tasting beer you might try it and become more of a beer connoisseur. Or, maybe you still don't care.

Some people drink beer socially, but I doubt many of you watch porn socially. What goes on in your head when you're watching those strange actors do their thing? If your head were completely empty, then I don't suppose you'd need any porn to get off.

Your thoughts might be extremely conventional, and there are plenty of sites that cater to that. But you're still thinking about something. So go back to your light beer and mom-and-pop porn site and stop thinking about it. I dare you.

exotics4me (0) From how I read the question, it would be like when we question the validity of a scene. Take Bang Bus' content for example. When they used to have comments on their site for each scene, nearly each one had probably 1/10 of the comments saying, "This shit is fake. You all didn't just happen to be driving around and find a hot chick who would have sex with you in the back of a bus." While the scenes were pre-planned, it was still a hot, naked woman having sex in a bus/van filled with windows, driving through traffic.

BadMrFrosty (0) I am the type of person that has strong opinions about everything that interests me, porn included. Therefore when I write or speak about porn, my opinions are voiced. I suppose it could come across as overthought to some but I believe that to be a good thing. Why would anyone come to this site if the reviews and comments were inane, purile and written by people with no passion for the subject matter?
