I must be missing something, I'm not sure what situation would start with me having a watermarked gallery, and then finding one without...?

I go along with otoh. If the photos in a gallery have a watermark, you can't get rid of the watermark, unless you use photoshop or some editing software. And I don't photoshop or edit my photos. I leave them the way they were downloaded, except I might delete a few photos from a set if the photos are really poor. Or I might just delete the set if most of the photos are poor.

I've actually done this quite a few times. Sites such as GlamourModelsGoneBad share large quantities of content with other sites. However, in the past (haven't been a member there in years so not sure of its current watermark status), they never had watermarks on their pics. Therefore, if a set was shared with another site, chances are GMGB would be watermark-free.
I've since become immune to watermarks (just as long as they aren't too distracting from the images) I choose resolution, color and quality over the presence of watermarks.

Aha! Makes a bit more sense now - thanks for the clarification, ThePornoisseur.
In which case... I suspect I wouldn't bother to redownload, although I might if I found a higher res set.

Nope. I don't notice them that much, as I'm usually concentrating on something else much more interesting . Besides, virtually all the watermarks I've seen are semi-transparent and placed in a far corner of the frame so, to me at least, they're not that obtrusive. I certainly wouldn't go to any trouble to find a non-watermarked replacement of something I've downloaded.

There are watermarks and there are WATERMARKS....
It's all in the size to this user.
Most sites - thank you - have small and not too outstanding watermarks - but now and then you come across sites who, I believe, almost try to make it a part of the marketing - and covering way too much of the pix - and it can ruin a lot of the fun with the set/sets...
And, yes - I skipped some sets because of overwhelming size of those wm's....

On the subject of watermarks.
Watermarks have led me to sites numerous times. But once inside they can become an annoyance. I can tolerate watermarks these days, except for the huge out of control ones.

I've gotten so used to watermarks that I rarely notice them and never mention it in my reviews. The only exception was for the site straponcum and that's because they had a pretty large one, they didn't always have it in the bottom of the screen and it had some colors so it was impossible to overlook.

I'm with pat on this one, I can't think of many times where I came across watermarks that were so bad they ruined the material. For the most part I am able to ignore them...

I will agree that most high quality picture sites do a good job making the watermark, if they have one, not very objectionable.

Depends on the size and what it looks like. A logo would drive me crazy and I would try to get rid of it, the name of the website on the bottom I am ok with, but if it is on the top it bothers me.

Haven't seen really bad watermarks yet or options to download without later.
