Firefox sometimes gives me a message that it has prevented a popup. But there are other times when I see different browser pages pop up and I did not click on any hot link to open those pages. So maybe I need to adjust my firefox settings to better prevent more popups.
Edit01:
I just read the firefox help page on blocking popups, and my firefox browser is set up already for blocking popups. That is the default setting.

It's a definite must along with adblocking software to me.

Just the built-in one on Firefox. It doesn't catch everything - some sites are very crafty in triggering them - but I've never bothered to specifically install something extra to block ads or popups.

Firefox + Adblock plus + noscript mean that popups (even the css ones) have no chance of surviving.

Always! I hate pop-ups, especially the unpredictability of not knowing when they'll show up. Like most other members, I use Firefox as my browser and it does a great job of blocking pop-ups. Plus, my Norton Security suite catches and blocks them as well. So, I'm very rarely bothered with pop-ups anymore.

I use the Firefox blocker, but those sneaky b....s now use pop-unders on some sites. Usually a dating or cam service of some kind.

I hate those! I have never been able to block them either, so they just keep popping up.

Echoing BadMrFrosty, I use Firefox blocking along with Ad Block Plus and that kills most everything. I can't imagine anyone surfing without a pop up blocker; you'd spend a lifetime just killing the crap showing up on your screen.

I use the ones that come with IE and Firefox. The question should be who doesn't use a pop-up blocker and why?

Pretty much always, although some sites I use for work require that I turn it off, but definitely when browsing porn.

I don't think anyone likes the visual garbage that are popups. They're only there because some crass fool is trying to make money through them. Did I say crass fool? How about sea vermin that's lower than whale shit?
So yes, I block, but I want to try AdBlocker, too. Something to block those stupid fucking things that slide up into view from the lower right. And put LiveJasmine to death.

Since the arrival of Firefox, pop-ups are almost a thing of the past. It's very rare when I get a "Blocked pop-up" message. A decade ago, I used to see them all the time.
