Good poll - hopefully we get enough votes to get a picture of who's where!

I guess WE is the closest although people from UK to Baltic countries and from Iceland to Finland tend to call this area Northern Europe.

Well, yeah - both - and not really...
In Denmark - and maybe the rest of Scandinavia we consider ourselves as part of, yes: Western Europe....
But do US-citizens in general not receive a simple kind of geography in the first years of school - we do, like where is where...
An old friend in Illinois once asked me: Is Denmark the capital of Sweden...LOL.
Or: You come from "Denmark" - is that in Colorado or Minnesota?
Jeeeeez! Well, maybe some in the US still consider it the ultimate center of the World - news for you - it's not....
BTW: This is NOT pointed at RustyJ - just used his input to answer...

REPLY TO #4 - Denner :
Then there's Solvang, a Danish village here in Southern California (Near Santa Barbara). And cheese danish, a breakfast sweet roll.
A link:Velkommen Til Solvang
We "Americans" aren't even literate about our own continent. Folks from Canada, Peru and El Salvador are all Americans too, but they call themselves Canadians, Peruvians and Salvadorans. But we don't have a name for USA-uns.
Now that we've settled that, the Danes and the Dutch were always my favorite because, back in the 60's and 70's, every time I visited Copenhagen and Amsterdam, I could scoop up some great porn stuff. I just had to find a way to sneak it through US Customs when I got home.

I've visited Solvang in California - and fled. When out of home, that was too much...Danish, ho,ho..
And about the other items: never meant it to be too general....
But bottom line, great input and take care, Monahan.

There's always a mix-up when it comes to Europe. For some the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary are Eastern Europe while for others they definitely belong into the Central Europe category.

LOL
Bush also loved to flout his true, unadulterated "Texasness"...even though he was a Connecticut-born Yale and Harvard graduate, which has got to be insulting to real Texans.
And I'm still embarrassed him and I are from the same country. : - ( To the rest of the world: we're very sorry!

I'm surprised there aren't more Canadians. It seem to me some of the most active members of the forum are from the Great White North.
Good Poll
