I would marry a porn star who is still in the business if she was the right gal for me so yes, retired or quit would also work.

Not in my situation....but if I was single:
Why not? If we started up a good relation in many ways - what would stop it? Not this PU. We've all got a past, so.......

I don't want to say never but it's not likely that I would marry an ex-porn performer. I'm not in any position to judge their career choice because I afterall jerk off to their work but I can say that the idea of marrying a girl who did all the stuff some of the porn girls do is not for me.
I think if the girl had only shot a few things and then moved on then that might be the only ex-porn girl that I might even consider.

What Denner said... - It's that "Chasing Amy" point. You COULD ruin a relationship with a very cool woman by holding her past against her, or you could appreciate that her past is part of what made her who she is. I would go for the latter alternative.

I think it would depend on if we were friends and WE wanted to be a couple.
The question though is so black and white in it's presentation, it's almost like asking if you would buy a Chrysler product.
But since I know no porn stars personally - even if I do have some on twitter and we've communicated - so the Possibility of that happening is pretty far fetched. And you might add into that I doubt very seriously if I will ever be with a woman again which adds a level of complexity that I won't expound upon here.
It's not the same question as, "would I have sex with a porn star, active or retired?", which is maybe - it depends - it.....

Sure! I suppose my only concern would be if somebody recognised him and was mean to him, but I guess he'd be used to that. If he's the right guy, how could I turn down his love because of what he did?
A current porn star would be fine too.
Sadly I don't think either type would look twice at me!

Highly unlikely I would even think of marrying anyone else, let alone a porn star.
I have never knowingly met one & doubt that I have.

I'm old, I'm married ... what can I say? If I could make myself young and single again I would probably have to think long and hard because - in my youth - I lacked self-esteem and confidence, and a woman's sexual past would have definitely played a role because I would have been afraid of being unfavorably compared to those who came before me. Of course if I felt real love coming from her then her past would just melt away.

I think it would be mighty hypocritical of me to be as interested in porn as I am and then to turn around and condemn someone for performing in that industry - past or present.
That said, the vast majority of porn stars tend to have some rather significant issues. Sometimes its just simple emotional imbalances, which doesn't bother me much and sometimes can be very entertaining, but other times it is significant psychiatric problems and/or deficiencies (i.e. stupidity, to put it bluntly). I think Jim Powers once described most of the girls he worked with as "broken toys" and unable to hold down fast-food jobs. I know a few people that have tried to find a relationship through strip clubs and many have succeeded in dating strippers, but it basically always went a bit tits up, if you will. At least in the U.S., girls willing to enter such a taboo industry tend to generally not be quite right, sadly. That said, the old adage is that your girlfriend can be Hot, Intelligent, or Emotionally Stable - choose two. I'm willing to forgo emotional stability to a large extent.

After reading some other responses here I feel this poll maybe needs a few caveats.
Consider that you are not married, the (ex) porn star in question is completely normal and devoid of any emotional or psychological issues, you are in love with her and she suddenly revealed she used to do porn. Would that be a issue for you?

Nope not a chance, too much baggage and way to much information, I am assuming would know here and her movies etc. Not something I would find interesting to know about. Dating is a whole other thing, if I was single I might, but marry not likely.

This. I'm just not someone who holds a person's job (or their past) against them when it comes to love.

Maybe. But not in this life. Personally I'm ok with the thought but peer pressure might be too much. Besides I hope I never have to consider marrying again.

I seriously doubt a porn star would give me a second look so highly unlikely.

I've known several dancers and a handful of pornstars. I WOULD marry a dancer (most of the ones I knew were financing their educations and got out). I would NOT marry a pornstar. The problem is that literally all of the pornstars I've known have been drawn into pornography from dancing, then nude modeling, then porn. Somewhere around doing porn, the sense of normal gets really messed up. The girls are highly influenced by the folks around them, most of which have a twisted sense of what normal is. The result is implants and enhancements, extreme acts, and other things that the girl might not normally do. And that is just the external influences. Layer on the childhood background some of the girls have which say it is OK to do porn. Something tells me conversations with her dad would not be particularly normal. Then there's the psychology of the girl herself. Ever heard of polyamorous? It is a very poorly understood psychological condition of a person who can't love just one other person. It is one of the effects...or maybe one of the motivators behind many pornstars.
I'm not saying there aren't a few pornstars out there with terrific, perfectly normal personalities. What I am saying is that I would find it difficult to maintain common values with most pornstars, which is a primary basis behind marraige, isn't it?
I am very happily married. Porn is a release and a fantasy. Why screw that up?
