We've realised by raising the prizes, we were flooded with a lot more reviews which is amazing. So, we're thinking of shaking things up. Y'know, new year, new Porn User! A main feedback we've heard is that there has been a lot of reviews for the same porn sites. To help with this problem, we're thinking of scrapping the 3rd prize (usually $50) and replacing it for a free 30 day membership to a porn site of your choice. I like the idea of a free membership and that topic has come up in the past. I am not so sure that will generate diversity in reviews of sites to any great degree. Giving away memberships at the end of last year created a lot of reviews, but many were of the same sites as they are part of Adult Time. Do the third prize free memberships have to be used on sites listed on PU? I would go back and rejoin Premium Bukkake, but it is not listed any longer. | |

I think the main reason many PU members submit rev9ews of the same porn sites is that we tend to go back to the sites that gave quality content for a reasonable price. Many times, or even most times, when you join a new porn site, that has no reviews, the quality is questionable: You end up saying, "Why did I waste my money on this site, when there are so many better buys around?" Of course, some new great sites do come out once in a while. But you're taking a chance on a new site that hasn't been reviewed before: and newer sites usually have less content, so you're paying a high price to see what's there. But if PU wants to offer 3rd place as a 30 day membership, fine with me. Sign me up for MPL Studios. They have some almost beautiful models over there. Also, side note: the Adult Time network seems like a fantastic deal: a low cost way to view (and download) over 100 porn sites. Has PU reached out to list them yet? I know one PU member who complained that he never got the Adult Time membership that was advertised. And customer service apparently did not respond to his email asking for help. | |

We are working with Adult Time to get reviews done for not just the network, but also the new series they will be creating for the Platform (they are really leaning into the Netflix model, so there will be no new sites, only new series). Adult Time says the network won't be ready for a review until March/April (still Beta Testing), but we should have reviews of the series coming up shortly. Because it's in beta, not all members get access to Adult Time yet which is why some see it and others don't. | |

I'd support the idea of scrapping the third place prize in place of a monthly membership at a site. I realize that PU is user-generated as opposed to TBP which is a commercial site, but what about the third prize being a membership to a site from the list of sites waiting for a review? Perhaps the better option would be to offer the membership to a site from that list but not require a review. Most of us would write one anyone I'm guessing. Just a thought. On another note, I've certainly written re-reviews of sites I've reviewed earlier but I always try to play by the rules and make the review different. Actually, for me to write a re-review something major has to have changed with the site or with my thoughts on it. That happened with Hookup Hotshot, for example. | |

It does make sense to have the third prize be of lesser value than the second prize. Most contests like this do that sort of thing. Thank you for the prize. Very pleasant surprise  As far as changing the third prize, honestly I don't think a free membership will be that interesting to me. I already have yearly subscriptions to most sites I'm interested in and I don't think if I had a choice of any site I'd really go with something I never tried before. I'd probably feel like I should use it on sites that don't have discounts or are more expensive. What if you had a second raffle where you can get a free membership for reviews of sites with no other reviews or offered more points in the raffle for reviews of sites that don't have any other active reviews? | |

The raffle rules explain how much content is needed for a one point review. This has close to zero information and only 97 words of content. The raffle rules state 150 words minimum. Winning member Joined two day in, short review, reviews a site with no reviews, then two new users give a review on the same site. And being trusts are disabled to give others a warning, this really sets a precedence for abuse. Not too mention, really both new reviews were only 30 minutes apart, by two members, that just joined and they win. Who over sees these things ?? WOW , thats messed up people. Khan was a great staff member, but he's not coming back. (I made a small donation to his gofundme acount (or whatever it was called) when I heard he was sick. So we have to give the new staff time to settle in and learn the rules. Amanda was here only 2 years, but she was lovely. I think Freddie and whatever other staff are trying to do their job, but I'm not sure how much time they are being paid for or how much instruction they've gotten. But if some PU members want to start a blog trying to help explain their concerns (plus and minus) about the site, the PU staff could read the blog and learn from it. Just my 2 cents. | |

I think the problem is and has always been, the lack o understanding the pulse of this system. Khan and a few others had it dialed in. It then kinda fell apart for awhile. The dark ages. Ive been a member here as long as you two. Maybe a thread of what we think might help. But so much is also put into reviews and this last round looks like no one even processed the hard work by everyone. So creating a thread, who knows if its worth the effort? Hey guys! Always appreciate the feedback. Still learning the rules and ropes here, so always appreciate learning more! As a general rule, we always lean towards inclusivity. I aimed to give a shoutout to a new member in order to promote more engagement, more dialogue between members. My goal is to attract more members, more reviews and more fun. By spotlighting new members and new reviews, I hope for them to return and post new stuff. In a similar vein, we are looking to implement new initiatives. This is why I asked a while back feedback on the new idea of putting the prize for third place as a new membership instead of the $50. I, and everyone here at PornUsers, appreciate and adore all the hard work you guys are putting in. I read all the reviews and am astounding by the indepth research, passion and love you guys put into it. You guys are the lifeblood of the forum. In the future, I'll be reviewing the rules and the reviews more carefully. Part of being a leader is to admit when you are wrong and then correcting your mistakes. Several weeks ago I told you that there was a rule about members winning in two consecutive raffles. Your response was to laugh me off. You could not say that you missed the rule, you said it was suspended retroactively. I was very insulted and put my account on hold. So whom is holding whom accountable in these contests? And how do you get a job without knowing how to do it? I means who is overseeing the new people working lack of leadership, caring? Its not just these contest, the reviews in this case are obvious, lets just call it what it was, trolling and fraud, and the staff rewarded them  Maybe Porn Users is run by the Government sure sounds like it. Personally, I thought most of the reviews submitted that were eligible for this week's raffle were good to excellent: rearadmiral exotics4me marcdc1 mbaya Cybertoad Yes, the 2 reviews submitted by the newbies were poor and wouldn't have been accepted by Khan, or earned a single point: Seashell143 Mikek But as Freddie wrote, the PU staff is trying to reach out to new members and encourage them to participate. There were a few reviews recently that also earned a single point, that should have been rejected under the current rules (I assume the current rules have been in place for years, now). I don't think that Freddie or any of the current PU staff is trying to tear the site down: they want to expand the membership as much as possible. And they probably don't have the experience of dealing with fraud or other forms of bad faith that Khan did. Instead of trying to knock down the PU staff, if any PU member has a criticism or point to make to improve the way the site is run, they can either post to this thread, or start a new thread or blog on ways to improve the site. That's what Freddie and the other PU staff are trying to do. Amanda mentioned that idea repeatedly: she wanted to make the site better, increase membership, encourage submissions by PU members both old and new, encourage the flow of ideas, the sense of community. The truth is that the sense of community, the activity of the thread, has dropped considerably since Khan and the previous management moved on. The new owners are trying to do the things that Amanda wanted: increase membership, improve the site. It only makes business sense. Like I said, it's just my 2 cents worth. But I think Freddie is acting in good faith. One question: off topic: Is Freddie a boy or a girl? Or a man or a woman? The answer shouldn't make a difference, but I still miss Amanda. We need more female participation at the site. As far as Mikek winning this week's raffle based on a poor review, I think since it was announced that he was a winner, he should get his prize. But in the future, reviews should be graded more stringently: both of the reviews by the newbies were poor (like shit), and should have been rejected, and were not worth a single point. It's suspicious that 2 newbies posted short reviews on the same day about a site that had no previous reviews. Maybe Khan would have rejected the 2 reviews for insufficient content and banned the newbies from the site for posting spam. But like I said, the new PU staff still seem to be learning about porn and running a porn site. They certainly don't have Khan's years of experience. And they are working to increase the membership. Which helps explain why they are loosening the rules. But if PU members object, they can post to this thread, or start a blog on how the PU site should be run. I haven't read the rules for what a review should contain in a long time: but a review should have some value, to give the reader a sense of whether a site is worth joining. I hope my reviews have some value, but very few members post replies to reviews any more, and you have to wonder how many people are reading these reviews. End of ramble. | |

I tend to not be as forgiving, but in the public service industry I am very forgiving. Restaurants and anyone that has to deal with the public. I run websites, I write Books, and I have a dedication to doing the best I can, by staying up on tech and making sure my product is presented well. To put the facts more clearly. 1. Two short reviews approved by staff. 2. On A UN-reveiwed website and no one questioned it. 3. Both posted with in 30 minutes of each other. 3. Both Joined the same day. 4. One of the two won for scamming the site.( my opinion) Thats a failure to check a review before approving it. Failure to recognize the two reviews by two other people on the same site. Picked a review my dog could have written. And then did not even verify the review that would have won. I live each day with excuses, the point is they obviously did not read the reviews and were just pointing and clicking, thats not needing to learn rules, thats ignoring protocol. I can appreciate defending staff, but thats not our jobs, our jobs are to write reviews and have them fairly judged, that failed on many levels and is not an error or mistake, but neglect. Like I pointed out, I accepted this review with the initial thought of bringing in new people in the community. This is my primary goal as the moderator. Thank you for the explanation, not sure I understand really. This site and reviews are slow, as well as forum postings. I simply fail to understand how so many levels were missed. This site is linked off the main site, so visitors can see what users of sites experience. Not having a reliable system, means they reviews can be seen as not reliable. What staff fails to do here reflects on everyone. And being I asked for a supervisor contact and that was ignored, I now ever more do not trust the process. I have been a member hear a very long, time. Maybe I am taking this more serious then most. I have had many websites, and my experience goes back decades. After Khan passed, a few weeks later I asked PU staff if they would need help, as at the time I was home for awhile. After giving them my resume, they turned it down only because they were looking for those with even more experience then me. So then I see how mismanaged the site is and I guess I am going WTH? I studied computer science, have a law degree and admin many websites. And knew this site front back at PU. Sorry, maybe I took this crazy way the site is being run personal, since its obvious the staff here does not have the training or experience that was claimed a few years ago as being needed. Not sure I will write anymore reviews, I think why bother spending time to give a decent review, when I could just post what ever and it counts. LOL So maybe I'll just post short meaningless reviews  Since 2007 | |

Thanks for the message, Cybertoad. Like I said, I just started moderating here so I'm only learning the ropes and knowing who you guys are, what is a good review, who are the members. I wasn't aware of the extensive past and yes, I'm new here. My aim in all of this was in good faith - by approving the review, I wanted to reach out to a new user that he's accepted into the community with the hopes of bringing in a fresh face to the community. I wasn't acting in bad faith. But lesson learnt. It would make me and the rest of the PU community sad if you stopped reviewing because I thoroughly enjoyed reading your reviews. From now on, I'm going to be very careful with the reviews before approving them. | |

My deepest apologies if I've offended you - it was hardly my intention. I didn't feel like I should correct the past raffle as I already set out the winners. I've learnt from mistakes and won't repeat them in the upcoming weeks. I'm sad to see you go. I loved reading your reviews! | |

The frustration is understood. Many of us spend hours over several days writing a review. I know I have. It upsets me to see reviews that were apparently written in 60 seconds get posted, let alone win a raffle. Not only does it detract from the well-written reviews, but it makes the site look amateurish. But please, time out. Cooler heads need to prevail if this community is going to move forward and be successful. Freddie apologized profusely and said the mistake won't be repeated. I've done a lot worse things in my life. Just my 2 cents. | |
