Help! I lost my points at the PU site. I just logged into the PU site. I've lost all my points (for accepted reviews). Also lost my badges (that showed all the past levels of my glorious accomplishments, such as feedback, trust level, etc.). Does this make a difference? Supposedly, only members with 5 or more points can submit a trust rating for another member. There might be other privileges that are tied to your points level, but I don't know what they are. So, am I now considered a newbie, instead of a decorated oldster? On a positive note, I am now tied with exotics4me, who used to have the #1 position on points. We both have 0 points, along with everyone else.

Yeah I noticed this the other day, wonder what was going on, thought it must be a blip and would get fixed but still on 0 with everyone else now. "Women are like tricks by sleight of hand, Which, to admire, we should not understand." WILLIAM CONGREVE

Tom D Admin posted recently that the PU site has stopped giving out points for accepted reviews. And that the software running the PU site was incredibly difficult to change. So I guess that removing the old points people had for reviews was a decision by the PU staff. And they won't be working to give them back. No big deal. Except that it did serve to tell us that a review we wrote was accepted or rejected by the site. Tom D also posted that site traffic has increased recently, for members and visitors. Which is healthy for the site. And that the goal of the PU staff is to have the site "be as self-sufficient as possible", which explains their hands-off policy.

I didn't write a ton of reviews, but I did put a lot of effort into the ones I did write. Losing the points and badges I earned really hurt and makes me want to disable my account. "A man talking sense to himself is no madder than a man talking nonsense not to himself."

It's better for the site if you stay an active member. Your contributions make the site better, a more valuable resource. The badges and points were a reflection of active participation, so I agree their loss is disappointing. But you are a positive contributor to the site, and your absence would be missed. That's my thinking.

Badges have been disabled - they have not functioned properly for years and new members had no way to earn them. The only way to level the playing field was to remove them. The same issue has existed with the points. Ideally, instead of zero, any mention of them would disappear entirely, but that isn't an option at present. I am in complete agreement that it would be preferable for both these features to be reinstated and fully functional - but for now I do not have the resources to make that happen. I would hope that if it prevents the trust score functionally from working, I can at least get that restriction removed. Hello, I'm Tom, your PU admin today. Would you like to hear about our specials?

I feel the same. Years of trust ratings disappeared. No way to tell trusted users apart from shills now. We're all newbies so can't give any trust votes. All reviews classed as newbie reviews so no site rankings. What's the point of reviewing sites if the scores will never count for anything? What a total fuck up!

The badges I could care less but the points and trust rating that really sucks. I only had 7 or 8 trust votes but they meant a lot as they came from long time users. As for the points, man that is really unfair to the Long time heavy hitters: aka THE OLD DOGS. They should at the very least get an icon next to their profile, Rearadmirl, exotics4me and so on, these guys made this site what it is and deserve every ounce of respect and recognition from all of us. Simple acknowledgement goes a long way in my book. And what sucks the most is that it's a long shot that they kept the count somewhere so it can;t ever be reinstated. Yeah, yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should. I omitted that losing trust votes will make it really hard from now on to judge who is a reputable member if you are a newbie. Seeing a lot of points next to someone's handle and a lot of trust votes meant you could rely on those people to write good reviews. Sorry to omit trust votes. I earned those just as much as the points I had or the trust votes I got. "A man talking sense to himself is no madder than a man talking nonsense not to himself."

Yeah the trust votes were truly earned. I don't understand why the playing field needed to be leveled. This is going to cause a mass exit of long time users and rightfully so. Agree with that. They were not easily given in most cases. On top of that, as a newbie these trust votes actually helped me navigate the porn world as a consumer: I could immediately tell who were some of the long standing reputable members because of their high trust rating. I joined at least 5 sites based on reviews from these members because I didn't have to worry about it being part of a marketing effort. On the other hand, there were many positive reviews from people with low trust votes where I became interested in the site and said "I'll suspend my judgment and see how this user does first".

Hey Some one wake up Tom D! This is an important question and deserves an answer as these were hard gotten points and the highest point totals represent hundreds of bucks you guys earned in Commissions! Pornpundit

He did answer, the badges and the points weren’t working so they just disabled them because they couldn’t fix them. Oh I DID read the reply but having been a member for fifteen years I deserve a better answer then the one provided. Gee we just let the building colapse because it was too difficult to fix. Wraith, you have invested the time for 102 posts.....you also desrve better. How many sites have you joined through TBP? Bet it represents plenty of profit. Yeah I realize that the forum is an extra but I've learned much by the writers wisdom and I'd like to know their "trust level". Anyway All STAY WELL!!!! Pornpundit

That goal and a hands-off policy is going to mean that members from outside the US have less incentive and are less likely to submit reviews because the raffle prizes will be Amazon.com gift cards which are near-worthless to anyone outside the US. In the distant past I've received Amazon UK gift card raffle prizes from PU after requesting as such from the PU admin, but these days I'm stuck with an Amazon.com gift card and repeated emails and a forum post to the PU Admin have gone ignored.

pinkerton: I'm willing to send you the value of your Amazon gift card in British pounds if you send me the US Amazon gift card number through the PU private email system. I can send the money in British pounds through whatever service I can find that is the cheapest. Or, maybe, I can find out how to send you a British Amazon gift card equivalent. (There's supposed to be a way to send British Amazon gift cards from the US, but I'd have to check into how to do it, and how to fund it.) Just a suggestion. I've been a member of the PU site for almost 12 years. As a safeguard, for what it's worth, if you send the gift card code, and don't receive the approximate value in British pounds, you can send emails or post at the PU site that I haven't sent you the British money you paid for. Or you can request that the money be taken out of whatever future winnings I might receive, if I do get any win from the PU raffle. Just a suggestion. And an offer to help a fellow PU member. But send it through the PU private email system. Posting the US Amazon gift code publicly would be foolish, of course. However, I've found that the PU private email system can be buggy. tangub sent me an email through the PU private email system, and I never got it. I sent tangub an email through the PU private email system, and he never got it. exotics4me sent me an email through the PU private email system, and I did get it. I asked yujin - PU Staff for tangub's email address, in a PU private email, and yujin never responded. So for me, at least, the PU private email system can be hit or miss, at times.

pinkerton, I've been checking my email account that is connected to the PU email system. Nothing in the inbox, nothing in the spam box from you. I don't know if you tried sending me your email address, or if the PU email system failed. So I created a new email address for you to use to send me your email address. My new email address is: fakesharen009 (the at symbol) yahoo.com Please send me your email address, or just tell me you're not interested in my offer to send you British pounds in exchange for a US Amazon gift card code. Whatever, is fine with me. I'm losing faith in the PU private email system. No big deal. Grin and bear it.

LKLK Thanks again for your kind offer to help with redeeming my Amazon.com gift card, I've been away a while so didn't get a chance to respond further, and whilst away I've found that I've since won a $500 Amazon gift card! So now an even bigger issue. I've replied to Tom S Admin's post in the announcements to ask if the gift card can be withdrawn and an Amazon.co.uk one issued for the same USD amount but I've heard nothing back yet. An unusable 500 bucks is a lot to have to deal with, so I've done a little research and found that I might be able to sell my Amazon gift cards on gameflip.com so I'll try that first. Thanks again

pinkerton, Glad to hear you won the $500 Amazon gift card. But that's more cash than I can handle. Hope that gameflip can handle the exchange. Or, maybe you can try sending Tom D a few emails, and the PU staff can solve the problem. Would be nice if the PU staff solved the problem. Easiest solution. And maybe it would help them realize that different gift cards need to be chosen for the UK and Canada for some winners.

pinkerton, Yes, I got the PU email. And sent you 2 emails in reply, to your email address, thanking your for the offer. I sent the emails on 1:17pm and 2:04pm PST on Wednesday. So you should have gotten them long ago. I never received an automatic message stating the emails were not delivered. So the emails should have been delivered. I asked for your First and Last name, because to send a payment through PayPal, you need the first and last name of the recepient. Thanks again for the very kind offer, but I prefer to pay you, since I believe you deserve to be paid for the Amazon gift card. Give me your name at my AOL address that you have, or the Yahoo address that was posted at this thread, and I will send you 19.30 British pounds, approximately, which is $26 US dollars. The Yahoo address I made up for this exchange was: fakesharen009 (the at symbol) yahoo.com That address works, since I tested it with an email, and also received an email from a former PU member.

I agree - there was a value to being able to tell the difference between a review from someone who had a high trust rating and one from someone who had none. Oh, well.

Yes... I am now also sitting at the losers table with zero points. About 17 years of points gone in a flash... awesome demolition work! Eventually I think someone will fix a new system but it might be a different site and I hate moving to a new neighborhood. Sad to see the nice house get so rundown. I will miss you guys! Jay G

It's very disconcerting to look at a review by one of the long-time members and see newbie status in the review. Exotics4me just posted a swath of reviews and all of them say newbie. It's just wrong. "A man talking sense to himself is no madder than a man talking nonsense not to himself."
