Just lost another review I spent 2 hours writing.... The last few times I've written reviews, the PU system has managed to log me out while I was writing it so that when I hit submit, the entire review was lost. Once I was able to get it back, the other four or five times, I was not. It takes me an hour or two to write thorough reviews of web sites. I even use the "auto login option". This only started happening recently. Has anyone else had this issue? Skippy

Oops! Well, apparently this is another problem I've been having. Click submit.....nothing happens.....click it again...nothing happens. I apologize but it is 3:30 in the morning and I tried page back and page forward a few times to see if I could get this message to go with no visible results. Apparently the server woke up some time later and posted an entry for every click. Skippy

I have had this problem when writing a comment or a reply, it seems that if you take a little too long over something your session will time out and when you click submit you are logged out. I've never had the problem with submitting a review because I write them offline in a word processor then just copy and paste the review in to PU so it only actually takes me a few seconds to post a review.

On my last review, when I clicked to submit the review I had written, the review disappeared. That has happened a few times in the past. Normally, I write the review in a text file, and cut and past the review into the PU boxes. Sometimes, I can click the page back-page forward and get the review to re-appear. Other times, I have to re-paste the review again into the PU submission form. But I think my problem is different from yours, because my mouse is buggy, and it sends signals to my laptop that I did not mean to send, so that might be causing part of my problem. But I would suggest, that when you write your review, you do it in a text document, and then paste the review into the PU submission form. Then, if the review disappears from the PU page, you still have the review, and don't have to start over from the beginning. You just have cut and paste the review from the text file to the PU page. It's saved me a lot of time and frustration if the review I am entering into the PU submission page disappears. And it's easier for me to write the review in a text document, because I can edit it more easily.

tangub, I wrote my response before I read your comment. We both use a text file to write the review, then cut and paste to PU. But you are much faster than I am, both with your comment, and with your pasting. I takes me much more than a few seconds to post a review. It takes at least several minutes, because I usually get a lot of errors that my review is too many characters, or too many lines, for each section.

I want to nominate skippy as one of the most persistent members of PU. He submitted this thread/comment over 20 times, never stopping even when PU did not acknowledge his effort to post the thread/comment. My hero.

PU moderators have to sleep too! I've noted all this and put it in a support ticket for our dev team. I will keep you updated. The duplicate forum threads have been removed. Edited on Aug 11, 2016, 05:13am

Hi Amanda, I agree that moderators need sleep too, but sleepy web servers can be pretty frustrating. Thanks for cleaning up all the duplicate threads. As I think you know, this is the second time this happened for me. Bizarre..... Thanks, Thanks, Thanks, Thanks, Skippy Skippy

I think it is habit for me to just fill in the form rather than use MS Word. Usually, writing something on a forum is spontaneous so writing it in a WP might not make sense. One site I write tutorials on, Instructables, has a "Save" button so that when you are writing, you can save it. That site also automatically saves the info you write occasionally. Sadly, most regular forum systems don't have that capability. Skippy

I'll chime in with the same basic comments and advice. I learned some time ago not to trust the servers here at any time of the day with posts of any kind: reviews, comments in polls, comments about sites, you name it. I'll copy a comment into the clipboard before I submit, and I'll compose a review (not that often these days) in Word or such just to make sure all the thought and editing don't get cyber-dissed on submit. Sometimes it still happens that I forget to take precautions. There's a fair amount of of never-to-be seen stuff I've written over the years. And with that, it's time now to select all and copy ... I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

Wow, 2 hours to write a review! That's dedication. I'll take this opportunity to say thanks to the many of you that write incredibly well-written, detailed and helpful reviews. I'm an amateur writer (with a book available on amazon) and I'm not on nearly the same level as many of the members. It's not the type of writing I'm accustomed to. It takes a lot of patience, research and diligence, not to mention a broad knowledge of adult sites. I don't have any of these qualities and as a result, write few reviews and only when I have something new to say. Back to subject... I have the same issue as Skippy. I've learned to copy (CTRL C) before I click submit. Like Skippy, I'm often logged out by the time I click submit and lose everything.

At the very least copy the largest section into the clipboard. If it screws up you can get that part back. I usually would paste each in a text file before submitting if the review was long. I would say I've had this same problem on the last 10 reviews I've posted. I use a little different method now. When I finish a review, I scroll up to the top of the page and middle-click my username, which opens my profile in a new tab. I then submit the review. It usually doesn't post, but I can hit the back button then re-submit and it works since the opening of my profile, loading of the website, signs me back in. Not a perfect fix, but it's worked each time I've tried it. My first time I jacked off, I thought I'd invented it. I looked down at my sloppy handful of junk and thought, This is going to make me rich. - Chuck Palahniuk

Sorry, but I gotta weigh in on the side of always using some other program to write reviews too. I have no choice because I can take a few days on one, but I can only imagine how frustrating it is to lose your work.

The copy and paste thing works for me as I also lost a review and had to rewrite it. Not a big deal as these are porn site reviews and not Shakespearian works. "Dogs think people are Gods. Cats don't as they know better." - Kedi (2016) Dogs have masters; Cats have staff.
