porn for women sites

I have read, but don't remember where, that about 25% of porn users are women. If you look on google, you will find that there is a whole niche of sites that specifically try to appeal to them, with a totally different perspective. First the focus is on getting attractive men to perform, a lot of cunnilingus rather than fellatio, a lot of male photos, cfnm, a lot of big cocks, and even sites that focus on lesbian sex by lesbians for them to watch. These advertise themselves as the real experience, not the one that men promote as a male fantasy. PU even has "For women" as a tag, but not listed as a niche. PU has only a fraction of the possible sites, probably due to a lack of interest. We just don't get women reviewing sites that are female focused. If women watch and openly admit doing so, this would make porn more sociably acceptable-a plus for all of us.

We have many, many silent members of PU. I for one would like to see some reviews, comments, etc. about this niche.
So far, there has been only one. That is a retired review from 2007 that wasn't well written.

Are there any women who would like to contribute?

I would like to see PU reviews by women, to see if the viewpoint is different and possibly more interesting because of the difference.

There are a few PU members that are women (at least 3 web mistresses that I recall, plus 1 regular female member). But I can't really remember any reviews by a female member (that I actually knew the reviewer was a female).

Some reviews are interesting to read, not just because of the technical or factual points covered, but because the writer adds details that might be colorful/humorous/insightful.

While Wittyguy makes a lot of good points, I want to make a positive statement directed towards those hanging in the shadows.

Point one, not all porn is or has to be male oriented. Point two, we at PU are a pretty tolerant and open minded bunch. I have seen reviews and comments about topics, fetishes, viewpoints, etc. that not only differ from mine, but also are all over the place as to social acceptability. Not once, please correct me if I am wrong, have I seen any regular belittle or denigrate another's point of view. Civility is the rule here, as long as we don't break the one cardinal rule-don't be a shill for a website. Pretty much any viewpoint goes, but never do we accept outright dishonest unobjective viewpoints. Besides, you can remain as anonymous as you want.

I have seen women of college age wearing buttons that say "I live porn". If you feel you can contribute, I feel strongly that fellow PUers would welcome your diversity.

More female contributors would be great, but I am afraid Wittyguy's comment about it being a social stigma is true. Even when women are creating and producing porn with the intention of selling it to women, the majority of it still ends up in the hands, and on the hard drives, of men. And all the sites that offer nothing but female content, and the only male presence is the heaving breathing coming from the videographer, the focus is still on what guys want; the body parts and the crazy action, not the passion, which is what I suspect more women would prefer -- lesbians or not -- but I'm not a woman, so I am only guessing here.

If a woman did wish to succeed here, would she have to be ballsy, as Wittyguy put it? Maybe, but I do not think the regulars would have to "protect" her, especially considering the relatively civil tone (thus far) of this site. We always have to watch each others backs when it comes to the morons, but we would not have to go out of our way simply because a member is female. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? It has happened a couple of times, but it was minor, and multiple members responded to the offenders in question, pointing out our unspoken rule of civility. Compared to any other site on the web, we are incredibly tame and open minded. (My theory is that we expend all our energy and passion on our porn, but it is just a theory.)

I presume you mean "I love porn" or "I live for porn," but I have yet to see any women of any age wear either, but maybe they all just steer clear of me. :( "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? Yes I did mean to say "I love porn". These buttons are seen on college campuses, where most students are basically open minded and don't really care a lot about social norms. On another point, those who break social norms always find it difficult in the beginning. Think of Black people speaking out against injustice, or Gays more recently. Of course it is easier to hang back, but the brave cause change. If any porn forum is appropriate and ready, I feel this is it. We have as of today over 5200 members. How many contribute ever, let alone become regulars? Certainly we must have a few women members who can write even one review, or make even one comment. Edited on Jun 27, 2009, 02:40pm

I would like to think that most of us would be more than open minded toward any female willing to offer her views and reviews on sites or in the forum. There have been a couple of subjects that got quite heated but 99% of it always remained civilized. I for one would welcome a female point of view of sites. Long live the Brown Coats.

A few weeks ago I though we might have picked up a female poster, but she has not been back. Kind of disappointing if you ask me.

"I live porn" would actually make a good slogan. "For example, badandy400 has taken it upon himself to become the one man Library of Congress for porn with a collection that surely will be in Guinness Book of World Records some day." ~Toadsith~

WeeWillyWinky and CyberToad have both returned as active members, so maybe that makes up for the female poster that hit and ran.

Are you sure you did not play major league baseball Wittyguy? "For example, badandy400 has taken it upon himself to become the one man Library of Congress for porn with a collection that surely will be in Guinness Book of World Records some day." ~Toadsith~

Forthegirls.com is run by two women and is a site designed for women to enjoy. They just had their sixth birthday in early June. From the FAQ section:
"Who runs this site? Are they female?
For The Girls is run by two women who passionately believe in what we do. Our aim is to create a space where women can enjoy sexually explicit material without feeling degraded or ignored. We personally vet all the content available within the site and reject anything that doesn't meet our standards. The motto is "If it doesn't turn us on, it doesn't make the grade."

What sort of content do you offer?
We offer a variety of adult content including: photos of naked men, videos of naked men masturbating, hetero couples photos, both hardcore and more sensual, video clips of couples having sex, movie streams and downloadable DVDs, photos of amateur men and webcams. We also offer a selection of different content, including fetish, bisexual, girl-girl photos, all of which met the quality standards of For The Girls and allow our members to explore different aspects of porn.

How does your content differ from a normal porn site?
We do our best to ensure the female point of view is given priority. Everything is geared towards female pleasure and female fantasy. In a practical sense it means we create our own content that reflects that female viewpoint, and it also means that we present existing photos, videos and movies according to what turns us on and what we feel our members would enjoy. We're always looking for something different, something that depicts the spectrum of human sexuality in a positive way."

An example of a network of lesbian sites run by them for them is Cyber-Dyke.com. This network has been around since 2001. From the FAQ section of Sapphosgirls.com:
"We are the oldest, the largest, and the best women-run Adult network on the Internet. Our collection of high-quality photos, video, and stories is like nothing you will find elsewhere. We do not deal in slick, fake, packaged porn. All the sites on this network are hand-picked by aesthetically discerning dykes. If it's ugly, poorly-made, or that fake "lesbo" crap made by men, for men, we won't put it on this network. All the sites on this network are exclusive."

I also found it interesting that one of the sites, Grrltools.com is basically a review site by women of sex toys, complete with photos and videos of them in use.

All of these are listed in TBP, but not a single review by any PUer. Neither started only recently, on the contrary they are going for a market that has kept them in business for longer than many sites that cater to men. It is easy to find more similar sites by looking at Google. The reason I mentioned the porn for women sites at all is that many women find the more male oriented sites not that stimulating. Guys are not selected for their looks and some of the topics don't work well for women. The value in mentioning the for women sites is that I wonder how many new members would sign up with the publicity of a good review from PU.

I know I would find reviews by any female about any site, not just for women ones, to be refreshingly different. After all, trying to figure out what turns women on is a hobby that most men have anyway. Edited on Jun 30, 2009, 05:58am

Yesterday I posted a review of Sapphos Girls. It was most definitely flawed, but interesting from a male point of view.

There is no niche.

Let me give you an example: remember in the 1970's Playgirl came out as a supposed counterpart to Playboy. It was bought largely by homosexuals.
I remember one of my first girlfriends way back in the 1980's(!). I was at her apartment one night, and she pulled out a stash of porn tapes, much the same as I had! Same stuff. Believe it or not, women like men that act like men, and do things that men do, and that includes sexuality. So why would they be interested in porn where men act effeminate? Where's the sense in that?

BTW, we had female reviewers here, but I think they felt a bit intimidated. Edited on Jul 07, 2009, 02:10am

That's pretty cool that your girlfriend had a similar porn collection as you, but that was in the 80's so at least part of the stuff might have been from the 70's as well.
That was before the onslaught of gonzo. I don't know how many women would find what passes for porn today to be as appealing. Upside down anal pile driving while spitting in the girls face is not likely to be at the top of most womens list of enjoyable porn scene. I suspect that a lot of todays porn is just not catered to women. It's made by men for men. Even the porn that is supposedely produced/directed by women often has a male feel to it.

I don't want to say that companies use female director as a gimmick, but I guess I am implying it. Long live the Brown Coats.

I am not exactly sure who signs up for the sites that are directed at women. However lets look at the content. Having a lot of male nudes may appeal to gay men, but not straight ones. I myself would find that a big turnoff. But how about heterosexual sex videos focusing on better looking men? No appeal to Gays here, maybe some for bisexual ones though. Straight men probably wouldn't care or even notice. Forthegirls.com has been around for six years, so somebody must be joining or it would have closed. Next, are men acting effeminately if they pose nude for this site? Most guys, myself included would love it if women saw me as a sex object. All the nudes here are exclusive and not to be seen on Gay sites. How about a focus on cunnilingus videos? Would that make a man effeminate? I hardly think so. My point here was really that we should encourage women to participate in PU. Maybe they would comment or review on these sites, maybe on ones that are male oriented. So far, in the time this has been posted, not one woman has come forward. Maybe my effort to reach out will be an utter failure. I tried because I think PU is the place for all of us and now is as good a time as any to move forward. so far this post has been viewed nearly 500 times, so somebody may yet step up.
