Should a male-to-female post-op transgendered person be allowed to enter a beauty contest?

I'm not asking this as a hypothetical question because this debate is going on in Canada. The "Miss Universe Canada" pageant has kicked out a Vancouver woman named Jenna Talackova who started hormone therapy at 14 and had surgery at 19. She's now 23.

The smart-ass in me says she should be excluded from the pageant and sent to my place.

The non-smart-ass in me says that she should be allowed to compete. She says she knew from an early age that she was a girl, and at 19 her physical traits caught up to her true gender. I say let her in.

One commenter on the CBC website speculated that the pageant organizers want to get rid of her because the audience of knuckle-dragging males would get confused.

Google her name only if you're comfortable with your reactions to these kinds of stories because she is stunningly beautiful.

Here's a link to the CBC story that has a few pics:

She is indeed, & if that is what she wants to do, let her.

It is only a tragedy of nature that allocated her the wrong gender.

It shouldn't curse the rest of her life.

I would let her in, trouble is in the Miss Universe constitution it states clearly that only NATURAL born women need apply!

An interesting side light. Some who commented on the subject felt it would give her an unfair advantage because of her "perfect" enhanced breasts and she should not be allowed to participate for that reason as well.

The fact that she started as a boy should have no bearing since she now has the piping for a girl but if the rules are that she must be born a natural female then those are the rules. If they choose to change the rule then she can always apply again in the future. Long live the Brown Coats.

The contest is privately owned by The Donald. They/He can make any rules they want to, IMO. It ain't anyone else's right to claim they have a right to compete in the contest.

However, if it were MY contest, I'd let her. She's gorgeous!!

I doubt most beauty contests have any rules about plastic surgery.

Breast implants are common today, and I would guess that many beauty contestants have had breast implants, as well as nose jobs and whatever, to make them more attractive.

I din't know that. I always thought beauty contests were creepy, but now knowing that The Donald has his finger in this (figuratively, of course...) it seems ultra-hyper-creepy.

It sounds like they are in the right in their application of the rules, but that doesn't mean the rules are morally sound.

I thought beauty contests had almost ceased to be. Been years since I've heard of any - they certainly don't televise them anymore. I'm with you Rearadmiral, I think they're creepy too.

First off: The Donald is Donald Trump.

Secondly: They may not air them in the UK, but they certainly do in the US. They're on cable channels now instead of over-the-air channels like ABC or CBS, but they're still there.

As for this, to even get to that point she would have had to be in a regional competition and win that. And the regional competition would have (or should have) had the same rules as the national one. She should have been told about this rule when she first applied, and it shouldn't have gotten to the point where she was featured on the website before she was told she couldn't participate.

The Donald refers to Donald Trump, a man who is generally found in NewYorkCity on this side of the pond.

He had more money and hair than most of us and he is famous for being famous. He has popularized the phrase "you're fired !" unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is gonna suck.

I am truly perplexed by this turn of events

On one hand, if I hadn't been told she use to be a guy I'd be all over that.
I would.

But the fact that she literately had her whacker whacked (or hacked) off puts just that much of a bug in my mind.
So, now my head is going

and my whole world is just around about Jenna.

It certainly is amazing the wonders of modern medicine. I wish she could compete just cause I hate the genre of beauty pageants and that would be a nice little firecracker to throw in the basket. If it ain't grits, it must be a Yankee.

If you're going to lay her head over the pool table and fuck her throat, get your fucking hand off her throat!

They say beauty is only skin deep, and she looks extremely woman like to me.

I say to let her, or at least rethink the rules. Most transgenders are not very attractive, Jenna is smoking hot and that is a feat of its own. She would trick (wrong word) any sober man. Clearly someone just feels threatened by her, and probably pissed that a born boy looks better than her. If you ask me she is in the top 5% of attractive women.

Something tells me that this chick has more personality than most of the other chicks there and certainly more than the pageant board. Manning up and being what you feel you are take a lot of balls, she still has more balls than 98% of us.

Somehow I'm thinking of ALS Scans and their policy of not shooting girls that have fake breasts -- something that I'm thankful for, btw.

The point is that contests, like websites, have rules. If there's no rule against a she-was-a-he, then let it be. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

I'll probably regret writing this as soon as I hit the 'add reply' button (but why do I worry about sounding sexist on a porn forum), but... I all the pictures of her are of the front. What about dedicated ass-men like me? Not one decent bum shot???

Beauty is not about sex,( said it a 1000 times) its about what pleases the eye, gender has nothing to do with it. It has to do with what or whom you find attractive. Since 2007

Define "natural born."

Still, if not for that rule I'd say all the other contestants have an unfair advantage because they were all born with their vaginas (who knows about their breasts and lips though... ). If Trump gets to say that this contestant isn't a woman then I get to say that whatever that thing is on his head isn't hair!

He still has more money than most of us, while the "hair" remains an enigma.

Though I still say the Simpsons' Mr. Burns said "You're fired!" better (and earlier) than Trump. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? If the contest rules allow the women to be surgically or pharmaceutically "enhanced" then yes let her in. If they don't then I don't think it would be fair to compare a women that has had help vs someone all natural regardless of what gender they were born. The problem with the world is stupidity. Not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

^I believe they altered the rules on plastic surgery a few years ago because it was getting harder to get all natural contestant and it was also harder to tell if they had or hadn't gotten some work done. They could always change the rules for futur contest but I don't think that will happen. I just can't see them writting a rule that a post op transexual is now allowed to participate in a beauty contest. Long live the Brown Coats.

Limiting entrants to one gender would probably breach discrimination laws here, but I can see why a lot of people would be upset if a man won eventually won the competition. How gutting would it be to be a woman and be beaten by someone who used to be a man! Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity.

I thought there were something in the rules regarding beauty contests that specifies "enhancements" disqualifies a contestant. In this case, the former guy has to be loaded with them.
Whatever, I think they should let him/her on in.

Accusing the Miss Universe contest of discrimination for not allowing transgender contestant borders on the absurd.
Everyone is ignoring the blatant discrimination demonstrated by the fact that one hundred percent of the contestants, every friggin one of them, is from Earth unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is gonna suck.

Well Jenna has made main stream and will appear on 20/20 (ABC) with Baba Walters. I swear in the preview I saw her say her breasts are her own - from hormone therapy. I, for one, will watch - besides on Friday night an antenna provides very little entertainment.

_________________________________________________________

Ok, I watched. And she/he does say her breasts grew using hormone therapy, but at one point Barbara asks if they are augmented and the answer was "yes". No big surprise there. If it ain't grits, it must be a Yankee.
