Problem with cancelling paysite-membership Hello! Two months ago I joined a paysite. After that I got a mail that told me "We were unable to process your membership". But my membership was active so I could get the content. A few weeks later I wanted to cancel the membership but I didn't have any subscription ID. I wrote a mail to the service and got the answer that my membership has already been cancelled. Last week my credit card was billed again and I wrote several mails to the support of the paysite. No answer. I filled out the cancelling form but never got a reply. Now I have to wait again if my credit card will be billed again. If yes, what can I do? If I "fetch back" the money, what will happen? I only want to cancel this membership but don't get any reaction. I've been to a lot of paysites and never had any problem to cancel. I hope somebody can help me and give me some tipps. Sorry for my english, it's not "my" language.

Your English is no problem, it's better than the English of many American-born or English-born speakers. Billing problems can be irritating. You seem to be doing everything the way it should be done. You should have called or written your credit card company about the last charge you got for the membership you tried to cancel. If you call or write to them, they should give you a reverse credit. Because you were told that your membership had been cancelled, any charge for a membership was a billing mistake. You are continuing to contact the paysite to cancel your membership, so, you should act as if any charges from that paysite are not proper or legal. Your credit card company won't be happy if they have to reverse any charges to the paysite more than once. If you are charged again, you need to cancel your current credit card, and have a replacement credit card issued to you (from the same credit card company). It's done all the time, usually for a lost or stolen credit card. But that's what you need to do if you get any more charges from the paysite that keeps billing you for a membership that you have canceled. As far as you are concerned, your attitude should be that you have canceled your subscription because you performed all the necessary steps to cancel. And if the paysite/billing company tries to charge you for your past membership, they are in error.

Definitely call the credit card company. I know it can be a little embarrassing to do but it is worth it in the end. Having them change your numbers is no big deal. They basically freeze your account to prevent any addition charges until you receive your new card less than a week later. WittyGuy is correct please do let us know which site you are talking about. The best thing to do is to post a comment on that site's page here. This way anyone looking into the site can read about your issue and perhaps know to watch themselves. There is getting close to a thousand threads in our forum so in a few weeks this thread will be buried pretty deep and many other people will not know about this. "For example, badandy400 has taken it upon himself to become the one man Library of Congress for porn with a collection that surely will be in Guinness Book of World Records some day." ~Toadsith~ PU Interview

ANY unauthorized bills to your credit card should be challenged. If you cancelled in a timely manner give the company an opportunity to make it good first, but do file a written challenge to the bill if the company cannot explain the misunderstanding properly. Sometimes it is our fault because we were careless cancelling properly, but if you kept your anecdotal billing history you should have no problem with this. Jay G

Thank you all for your tips. The site I'm talking about is "ScoreHD". I will keep the membership this month but if there will be a new billing next month I will contact my bank to get the money back. Another question: my credit card already expires in July so I will get a new one with a new CVV-number. Does that mean that my card can not be billed again? Finally I hope that my membership is now cancelled and I have no reason to do anything.

I got a message from score that my account was located, my membership will be cancelled and I also will get a refund. It seems there was going something wrong with the billing company.

A credit card expiring does not necessarily protect you. Some credit card companies will simply bill you and add extra charges for using your card after expiration date. If this happens you definately need to challenge the charge. Jay G

Your English is fine, don't worry. I joined PU because of a similar problem with a website. I stayed and continued posting because of the quality of the users and their advice. I hope you also stay active and post some reviews of sites that you have experiences with. There is always room for active members who can help others.
