Hmm...creepy, but interesting. The technological revolution marches on. I am not surprised it mentioned the courts would probably eventually get involved (damn lawyers and judges trying to reign in on people having a good time), if they could prosecute it as interstate prostitution. You'll probably end up having to pay some sleazeball overseas to to get your virtual reality fix. Still, why $400 when I don't necessarily seek out, or even enjoy, hands free sex or masturbation? I can all ready see the headline: Man electrocuted while using new virtual sex machine. A man was found dead this morning. Real Dolls are kind of creepy, but for me it's not the fact that guys or girls have sex with them. The creepy part is how real they look. If you had never visted their site then I wonder if you could tell whether a picture of one is a real person or silicon. Mark my words, if they haven't done it yet, then very soon you will see a Real Doll with some servo motors, inner heating elements, and movable parts that make them appear even more real. I am sure its definitely going that way. Especially if they could make it cheaper to obatain or found a way to incorp the devices to work with something like the Playstation 3 or something so the cost would be lower to get the device. About a month ago I seen a report on the news about a Japanese guy who created a robotic Real Doll with AI, full motor control, and speech. I'm guessing here in about 20 years nobody where know how to speak anymore. It'll all be done over the interent. lol I don't think anything like this would have anything to do with a PS3 or 360. Since it'd have to be considered a game, which then the ESRB would rate. The only AO rated game to ever actually hit a console was Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. But even that was originally rated a M when released but due to a nudity controversy it got changed to AO. I don't think were ever see a AO rated title on a PS3 or 360. Think it'll only be PC. | |

I started a thread about Real Dolls here called, "Mom, Dad, I'd like you to meet...", but it didn't fare very well. Personally, I find the idea fascinating but decidedly creepy. Many people associate these dolls with necrophilia, and I have to admit that I made the same connection myself without reading anyone else's thoughts in that regard. Mind you, this isn't to say that people who use dolls are necrophiliacs, or even remotely curious about that fetish, just that certain associations arise, due to the totally dormant, cold, non-responsive nature of the dolls. First, the dolls not only look real, they are very heavy. You have to literally lug them around, as if they were an actual body. That was the point for me when I realized I could not own one, even if I could afford the cost. Not only that, I live alone and I think I'd be spooked with one of those dolls around. I'm a major skeptic and don't believe in anything supernatural, but it would almost be like having a cadaver around. I've seen pictures of these dolls, not many, but some that are well-done, which are spectacularly convincing. Plus, I know myself too well and I'd be embarrassed to actually mount a doll. Sex dolls of various types get even more flack than Real Dolls. Certain Japanese manufacturers make realistic dolls that look so young, and so small, they may as well be children. That is certainly dangerous, and immoral, ground. Other manufacturers make realistic torsos, female bodies with no arms, no legs, sometimes no heads. Now how would that feel? I saw a video of a demonstration of one such torso, with head, and the breasts looked absolutely real. Can't remember the company now. Wikipedia had a link to it on the Real Doll page that has since gone missing. All that aside, there are some mere toys that look interesting, Cyberskin thingies that are just a buttocks and openings, which look very real, and supposedly feel real as well (much doubt from me). Then there is that pesky Fleshlight. I must admit I'm kind of tempted to get me one of those. No nooky for four years now. Not good. You know what I hate the most about selfish people? To give you an idea of just how far Real Dolls have gotten. You simply have to watch a movie starring Ryan Gosling called: Lars and the Real Girl. I don't know why anyone would think that a Real Doll has anything to do with necrophilia, because if that was the case then they wouldn't be made to look as real as they do. I'm pretty sure it would be easier for them to make them look dead. I've picked up a box which contained a mold of a pornstar made out of real skin (which I assume is the same material as real dolls), and eventhough it's les than 1/5 a Reall doll, it was still about 5 lbs, so you can imagine the weigth of a full doll with an internal metal frame. I notice that they now make some with an anime look to them. These have a more childlike appearance than the old models. I suspect that they probably can make them look however they like. I'm kind of thorn on this issue, because afterall is said and done these are just dolls. I don't think that anyone who buys the anime model will become a pedophile anymore, than someone who buys a replica hand gun will become a vigilante. I can't remeber who it was but there was a writer for a magazine that tried one of the Real Dolls and he was quite impressed. On the plus side if you live in a city that has car pool lanes then a Real Doll could be a great investement. Think how much gas you'd save by not being in treaffic as often, and you'd make the other driver by having this hot chick in your car. Actually I don't get emails about the Fleshlight, I get tons of spam which sound sort of like the following: "Man finds wife in barn. Horse happy. Husband not." Hi Pat, Just so we're clear on this: I don't think people who use these dolls, or any dolls, are even remotely interested in necrophilia. I just said the association arises due to the nature of the dolls, all that cold, dead weight. I also don't think a person using a miniature doll would become a pedophile, or has leanings in that direction, just that the idea of manufacturing childlike sex dolls is, in my opinion, immoral. Check out some of the Japanese companies. At least one of them, and I can't remember the name, makes miniature dolls that are the size of children and which look like children. I know it's treading on touchy ground to make sweeping statements and to generalize, but the idea of this rubs me the wrong way. I've got nothing against people who enjoy these dolls. I've even visited a few doll forums and read through some of the threads. I frequently think about what it would be like to have one, to be honest. Many of these guys simply find it extremely difficult to socialize normally and to become involved in sexual relationships. I can relate to that. Sorry Witty if you got the feeling that I was thinking that your post implied that real doll users might have necrophilic tendencies or become pedophiles. I was trying to agree with you that they don't. I visited the Real doll site yesterday and read the faq page, and one of the subject was about doggy style and they reccommnded that the customer have somekind of support under the body or it would next to impossible. I did find a few websites other than the Real doll one and I don't know if they are more child like or by virtue that they are designed along the lines of a Japanese then they appear so. I'm curious to read some actual reviews. This thing looks somewhat like a football but bigger. It looks heavy and rather cumbersome. As far as I can tell. It's similar to a fleshlight but with two conveyor belts and a heating element. For some reason I'm thinking there is also noise coming from the servo-motors while it's on. Monty2222, I hope you are using the term "self-cleaning" lightly as I am sure we are all aware of those who could benefit from improved methods of hygiene. Granted people do know how to clean up pretty well -- good lord, just watch a Max Hardcore video to see where some have to start from -- but others, eh, not so much. Personally I think I find the idea of a realdoll to be more appealling than a handsfree aid. I mean what happens if you don't find the same bits arousing as the film encoders? you can't go at your own pace which I think is important. I must admit, I bought one of those fleshlight thingies, though a slightly cheaper knock-off version. I find it to be mostly useless. It sort-of feels real, but it's nothing like the real thing. It isn't warm, number one, and it doesn't respond at all, of course. I've packed it away and probably won't be taking it out again. Well, I'm just thinking that once the act is over I just wanna relax. The last thing I wanna do immediately afterwards is to spend extra time cleaning the damn contraption, even if it's just 10 minutes.
