Wife mildly impressed...... BUT I FUCKING LOVE IT! A few weeks ago I downloaded a porn CD - yes I said CD not DVD - on Amazon called Private Pleasure TraXXX. I listened to a few samples and thought I'd give it a try. It's hard to call it porn I guess with no pics or video BUT the audio tracks are quite amazing - explicit enough to get me going. Anywho, I recently let my wife in on the purchase and had her give a listen - I told her "lie back, put these headphones on and just listen." She found a couple tracks that really got her wet but not all of them - I think it's geared for men probably - I guess this because of the subject matter - all of the tracks have a girl or two (in the case of Taboo Twins) go from like a solo fantasy to somehow bringing me right into the mix - hard to explain really but a definate jack'n trip. But the reason I love it so much is that now my wife tells me to lie back with the headphones and gives me oral pleasure or a handjob while I listen....very interesting experience! I can not say that I have. In all honestly most of my porn watching has been on mute. Only lately did I begin using headphone. I bought a cheap set of wireless ones, the wire is too annoying. I like having sound, but sometimes it can be too much for me. I really do not think that audio only would be enough, but then again I have never tried it. Yeah, I didn't ever think about audio either - but these tracks are not the audio taken from a porn video scene - it's hard to explain but I the only way I can say is it's like erotic stories that somehow come to life - they use some kind of wierd effects and shit that makes it sound like the girls are right on top of you - you can actually feel them move. Anyways, pretty cool. | |

I am guessing it is an over the top version of the phone sex lines. So often people forget about the sense of hearing when it come too sex, and I have for a long time as well. The audio tracks on most of the porn video clips I've seen don't add to the porn experience, but instead detract from it (obviously fake moans and groans, stupid dialog, lousy music soundtrack, etc.). But like badandy400 says, "A woman making the right sounds can add a tremendous amount of eroticism." It's too bad the audio tracks of most porn clips add little or nothing to the value of the clip. But if an audio story is done well, I imagine it could be extremely erotic, just the same as reading a porn story that is well written or watching a video clip that is well done. | |

I've always thought audio erotica has been neglected, I don't see how difficult it would be for solo model sites to have more audio files, i mean how easy is it to read out a dirty story or talk dirty. It's not something that will ever be big but it can be nice. | |

Of course the thread was apparently created by a shill, but I remembered reading about this kind of stuff a long time ago. They did at least some CD's titled "Cyborgasm" using a "dummy head" technique. When you are listening to a dummy head recording with a pair of good headphones, perhaps with your eyes closed, the aural experience is supposed to be almost exactly the same as if you were where the recording apparatus, i.e. the dummy head, was located. I suppose the never caught on much, although the idea is intriguing. Sound and sound design is very much a weak spot in commercial porn. My curiosity intrigued, I actually hunted down a sample of the "Cyborgasm" stuff. It was basically an erotic bedside story with some ambient music in the background. Kind of nice, but not earthshaking by any means. I suppose if there were good erotic stories as audiobooks read by a suitably seductive voice, I could get into it. | |
