Am I the only one who prefers pictures to videos? I really feel like a minority. I appreciate videos too, but nothing will ever take the place of pictures and how you can calmly notice all the details and let everything soak in. What about you guys? I also hate the way every model is airbrushed, even Met-Art does this. I have a set, don't remember the name right here, in which they have two pictures in the same position and they forgot to photoshop the second one, so you can see they took away lots of spots and things from the labia of the girl. Not to mention I have a fetish for light/medium cellulite, so it's terrible to find no website which shows that. Why webmasters think we like to see robot women and not girls with flaws like we see every day in the street? =/ The only sites which let them natural like this, from what I've seen so far, are the ATK ones. Plenty of users on here prefer photos - others, like myself, are fond of both and prefer photos in some categories and not others. For avoiding photoshopping, try sites that feature work of specific photographers. AT Kingdom Network (and its sub-sites) often have photographers that do not photoshop their work. You can easily search their sites by the Photographer. For example, one of my favorite sites, ATK Natural & Hairy, features the work of Sean R.. His work is often described either in glowing terms or pure disgust - largely because his photos are extremely crisp and are totally without photoshopping. Every blemish, pimple and scar is extremely visible. I used to dislike his work because the lighting was so harsh that you felt you were looking at autopsy photos rather than pornography, but he has since toned down the glare a bit and the photos have gotten quite fantastic. Everybody's style changes over the years. Petter Hegre's early work (most of which has since been removed from his site, Hegre-Art) was really pretty terrible - bad color correction, bad lighting, repetitive poses. I am not as been a fan as a few I am sure will answer but I have 154,562 adult picture Files, in 1,866 Folders. This is modest to some. In contrast I have ( guessing ) maybe 5000 adult video files. I only use a few TB's compared to many of the members, my main reason is sorting I can never organize the videos well enough when I have too many. I have some nice quality photos, where a set is 500mb pretty big file for just pictures. But I am a fan, just more a video fan. Since 2007 | |

I prefer photos to video. But the last couple of years I have been finding more videos that I do like (not more than photos, but just videos that I can enjoy). Sites like X-Art and the Diesel sites have erotic videos that are high quality in technical terms (high definition, good lighting, good colors, good focus, etc.) I am saying good focus, apart from the "artsy" blurry spots that X-Art thinks add dramatic value to the videos, that I wish they would cut out completely. Teen Mega World has a lot of videos that I also like. The videos aren't quite as good as the X-Art or Diesel videos, but they have tons of good looking models doing softcore and hardcore action. Actually, some of the Teen Mega World videos have been turning up at the Diesel sites, and at other sites. But those same videos are usually presented in higher definition, with better lighting and colors. | |

To answer your question: I started out with pictures but then the emphasis switched during the past few years from the alluring, erotic and teasing to something more mundane. I just can't get used to women only throwing on a garment or two, go mostly commando (or semi-commando with a thong), get undressed within the first ten pictures of a set, while the rest amounts to something not much more than a nude set. So many photographers started to do these "mundane" sets that I got bored with the sameness of it all, and my taste gradually switched to videos. I still subscribe to sites that feature both videos and pictures but leave most picture sets on those sites for the reason mentioned. If they ever again present a woman in a dress and bra and panties, with nylons and garter belt thrown in I will very quickly revert to being a picture fan. Oh, yeah, another thing that aggravates me about pictures is the fact that most of them are taken in portrait while landscape would be so much more exciting on today's widescreen monitors. And Toadsith, I agree with you when it comes to Sean R, at first the lighting was so harsh that his models indeed looked quite pasty (with too much make-up to boot), now they look more natural. He still gets my highest scores and gets downloaded the most because he at least allows his models to wear panties (and even bras) and has some wonderful upskirts in his sets. AND he lets them keep their lingerie on for longer than 10 pictures.  And having said all that, videos ain't perfect either. Plenty of boring stuff to be found there as well with most "actresses" disrobing within the first three seconds of a scene taking all the tease out of that as well. | |

That early lighting was crazy, wasn't it? I'm so glad he got a handle on that. I agree, he understands that presentation matters, and clothing is a part of that presentation. I like nude photo sets, but changing up the clothing and paying attention to it is really a breathe of fresh air of sorts. Sean R. also finds really interesting models with some unconventional looks. He doesn't mind skirting the edge of ugly to find someone that is on just the right side of the line to be really intriguing and attractive. My main gripe with his work was that there was always so much duplication (poor editing) & an apparent obsession with gynacology. Of late he seems to have progressed to photographing the whole of the model more, & allowing more natural poses rather than the earlier acrobatic, controtionist style. One of his recently published sets actually featured an element of pin up posing. Hurrah! Cap'n. It is good to know he keeps improving! I haven't seen his latest work, so it is always nice to read updates on it. He definitely has always had a gynecological obsession, which I'm a tad partial to, but I can understand a bit of a frustration with it. The lack of editing is an issue. Skipping photoshop to a certain degree is commendable (however color correction is a must), but editing out overly repetitious photos smacks of laziness. That said, I don't recall ever seeing out-of-focus photos from him - so he must do some editing. Perhaps he is just a little too protective of his photos, editing can be hard that way. I know personally I usually either edit too much or too little; it is very hard to strike the balance just right. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!" This forum's policy dictates that we can't post links to free picture or video galleries, but if you just do a Google Image search for "Sean R. ATK" you'll get a ton of examples from old and recent. If you specify the image size as large (say above 2MP), you'll probably get exclusively his newest stuff, as the old pictures weren't uploaded in large resolutions. I considered airbrushing when starting but decided against. Partly because of the false look but also to keep things as consistent with the video as possible. For example, if a model has tan lines in the photos, she should have tan lines in the video. I prefer pictures too by far. I know I'm going against the grain here, because HD video is so hot nowadays, but I've always liked pics more. Let's say I'm watching a nice video. I'll be watching, waiting for just that moment that I want to see, anticipation building up, and then that moment is there and wait... I wish I had a picture. As great as the resolution of videos has become, it comes nowhere close to pictures in capturing the detail of the scene. The dialogue in videos can be great, especially when it is either honest or mind-blowingly filthy, but videos that do that really well are rare. How many of you have joined sites only to find that they got models to come so they could shoot some video that is barely HD, and they didn't even bother to take any pictures? They just post some crappy screenshots? That, to me, is ridiculous. Added bonuses of pics - they are small files, easy to organize, and you never run out of room for them. I know I am in the minority here relative to the average porn user, but I am for pics all the way. Better to be pissed on, than to be pissed off. | |

If you don't already know, some video medias (such as the VLC media player) has a right-click feature which freezes any frame on any scene you want .... therein giving you a still picture of same that's down loadable. I must be a bigger fan then I thought a year ago, I found more erotic sexxy material and went and doubled my collection to over 350,744 pictures. And actually eliminated 2000 videos from my collection. Gtaymane also KM player will snap shot every frame automatically then one can go back and sift through and pict your favorites,ive done that on a few videos that did not have photos and Xnview has a quick crop etting faster then the others with quickly light and contrast so you can get what you want . I agree completely on the airbrushing. I have never liked the fake looking women. Have always been much more attracted to a real woman, the girl next door type. It makes the fantasy more real to me. I did do a lot of airbrushing for one of our models in one set. Didn't really like it, though she loved it. But I have since cut down on the airbrushing. I do have a couple of girls with tats that they do not want to show, so I do remove those, but I do not do full body airbrushing. My personal opinion is every woman is beautiful, and sexy comes from within, and attitude, much more than from looks. I am a fan of both video and photos, though not a big hardcore fan of either. I like the tease, and would rather see a striptease video. I have found a few videos from a czech site that has girls doing lap dances, starting clothed and stripping. Videos can be quite nice but still photos rule, and I’ll take it one more step … color can be nice but real photography is black and white. A good color still can be opened in PhotoShop and one click of the desaturate button can make it exquisite unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is gonna suck. Photos are easier to collect than videos. They take less hard drive space. But videos can be nice, as well. But overall, I think it's easier to make an excellent photo. Videos require more work, a lot more factors to control, so it's harder to make great videos. But there are plenty of videos out there, with some gold mixed in with the crap. | |

I really just enjoy both, to be honest. If the photo is really hot (and NOT photoshopped, this is important), then I'll enjoy photos just as much as I enjoy videos. For specific things though, I prefer photos. I definitely have some foot fetish interest in me, but I'm not a fan of footjob or foot licking videos. Speaking as a producer, I much prefer photos. It's easier to control how they come out and you rarely end up in the editing continuity nightmares that video sometimes causes. For me the one place that video wins outright is dialogue. That magical moment when one of the performers says exactly the right thing at the right moment, cannot be matched in photos and captions.
