Firefox and PU site issue Anyone else using Firefox have to scroll down to where you were on a page when you hit the back button? The best I can tell from Googling the problem is that either my browser needs upgrading, or it's in the coding of the site. If it's a site issue, I'd just as soon leave my browser alone - I don't always go for "new and improved" when old and lousy works just fine. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

I'm using version 3.0.10 of Firefox for Windows XP. I'm not having that problem at PU. I just tested it by going deep into a long thread, clicking the link to Toadsith's page, then hitting the back button. You know, one trick that might be worth a try is alt+left arrow, which does the same thing as the back button, but maybe it will return you to whence you'd left off. I've done it with some success at certain sites. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

I don't have any problem when hitting the back button in returning to the same page area I was previously viewing at PU. I use Windows XP and Firefox version 3.0.10. Actually, I never even thought about this issue before you brought it up.

Another thing you could do is open a link in a new window (top command when you right click on a link in Firefox); then when you close the window you'll end right back where you were on the previous page. I do this a lot anyway with sites that don't open photos in new windows and I find it really helps as well with the problem you've described. Some sites do code so that a window always opens at the top. When a page is long, it's a pain. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

I am using Firefox 3.0.10 also with Vista and no issues with that. Also using 3.0.8 on XP with no issue either. I did used to have that issue though, but I have no clue when it stopped. Both computers take me to where I was when I left.
