To me, the term means someone who indiscriminately downloads an entire site in a very short space of time.

Going a little off topic, as I have said before, IMO very few websites do both video & still photos well.

Most are better at one or the other format.

Time was no site had any video.
As it became technically viable more sites tried it out.
Now you get quite a few sites that do not feature stills at all.

'Behind the Scenes.' ??

Those videos & photosets are of very little interest to me.

When you have seen how it works once, from a documentary point of view, it may be of academic interest. After that, it quickly becomes tiresome.
To me it comes over as a lazy way to pad content & to count material like that as an update is an outright con!

Once you have seen one.......

I think the middle ground of the compromise is the best way to get through this.

Excessive anti-pirating measures are definitely counterproductive & I find steaming only sites frustrating, so seldom if ever join.
Sites not providing zip files for photos will get a miss.
As a photo phreak I am not going to go back to the 1990s and click and save photos one by one!

As regards download limits, yes, I can see the point of that as it prevents years' worth of expensive material being downloaded in a matter of hours.

I think indescriminate site ripping is counterproductive, both for the user who has to sift through the material later & certainly for the producers who will lose out substantially.

To Webmanagers,I say take reasonable measures & look at the residual loss as a form of advertising.

I'm not entirely sure I have come across this, but then I don't really 'do' video.

If they are 'casting' videos, then yes I can see the point provided there is some progession in the video.
If she is still fully or partially clothed at the end, then I agree it is pointless.

So far as I know a significant proportion of IP addresses are dynamic. ie. They are regenerated on each boot up of the router.

Using that as an excuse for being awkward with a customer is just plain bad business practice.

If they are a new registration & their first participation is to ask about a model they are already posting links to, it should really be obvious what the intent is.

As you quite rightly say, it will not prevent folk from removing them anyway, if they are that determined.

That said, I think a small watermark such as the ones used by ATK is no big deal from my point of view.
The large watermarks that used to be prevalent have now largely disappeared thankfully, as they were a problem.
They caused major disfigurement of the image & were distracting.
The benefit of watermarking from your point of view is to minimise the likelihood of commercial level piracy.
If you can make it tiresome & time consuming for them by having a watermark, so much the better for you.

A spin-off of watermarking is that at what might be called a casual level of piracy, such as reposting on public fora, if a surfer likes it, they can see where it came from to go and get more. That can actually work in your favour. You could look at that as a form of free advertising.

So to sum up from this photo phreak's point of view.
I have no objection to small typeface watermarking in any of the corners of the image.

Thanks for taking the trouble to ask, BTW.

Not really.

What D. is saying there is in order to gain access to the site, we have to overcome the challenge of the captcha box. ie risk being locked out by repeated failure.

The point of the captcha box is to ensure that the user is a human rather than a bot trying to crack security.

I think it refers to the fact that, especially for the more mature of us with failing eyesight, it is sometimes difficult to decypher what the code to be typed in should be.
It can be a bit of a lottery with some of the more obscure ones.
It becomes a risky business.

Other times they seem to have just said fuck it and the model is just posing and apparently testing the lube resistance of the leather upholstery.

They are trying to hook new customers with putting two things together that they think will appeal to the most folk.
Usually it is done the other way around.
Add a pretty girl to sell a car or a motorbike.
We all know sex sells, right?

I am not sure it works like that in reverse for selling porn though.

Colour me puzzled too, TBH.

OK....

I think it is safe now...

To return to topic.

I have recently rejoined All Over 30

I don't know whether the content has been retuned slightly, or if it is just the fact I hadn't visited for quite a while, but there is a lot of on topic material here, as well as the harder material.

I am pleased I went back to take another look.

The train was quite crowded, so a U.S. Marine walked the entire length looking for a seat,
but the only seat left was taken by a well dressed, middle-aged, French woman's poodle...
The war-weary Marine asked,'Ma'am, may I have that seat?
The French woman just sniffed and said to no one in particular
'Americans are so rude. My little Fifi is using that seat. The Marine walked the entire train again,
but the only seat left was under that dog. 'Please, ma'am. May I sit down? I'm very tired.
She snorted, 'Not only are you Americans rude, you are also arrogant!
This time the Marine didn't say a word; he just picked up the little dog, threw it out of the train window, and sat down.
The woman shrieked, 'Someone must defend my honour! This American should be put in his place!

An English gentleman sitting nearby spoke up,
'Sir, you Americans often seem to have a penchant for doing the wrong thing.
You hold the fork in the wrong hand. You drive your cars on the wrong side of the road.
And now, sir, you appear to have thrown the wrong bitch out of the window!'.

Hey Thomas.

Nice to get your input.

1) For most folks that is true, for others, probably the minority, preferences don't change. Mine haven't since adolescence

2) Yes, for sure you do stumble on some gems.

3) Interesting info. Thanks for that.

4) I think that may be a guilty conscience kicking in?

BTW, all this is pure guess work and highly subjective, I have no statistics to back me up when it comes to the average porn user so your take is every bit as valid.

I think you are likely correct that it may be age related too.

@ CT

Progress is not necessarily in a forward direction, I think it loops back around eventually.

It is more a state of constant change in the name of novelty.
There is nothing really new.
Ideas just re-iterate in a slightly modified form.

To paraphrase what I said to M a few months back.
Sometimes you need to venture out of your normal comfort zone just so as to be able to step back into it with renewed satisfaction a little while later.
A sort of recalibration excercise.
I do that myself at times.

Yes it is.

So in effect I have 2 + 2 really.

It is the Collector / Hunter Syndrome.

I supppose the pleasure is more in the hunt than the kill.

Once you have one you immediately look for the next.

A lot of us suffer from it; especially around these parts.

Thanks for the skeet on the SS drives otoh.
They certainly sound worth watching for developments.

I am sure we are not alone in this issue.
Mainly, I can only offer sympathy.

4TBs of storage of mainly photos.
It is time consuming enough rationalising those, let alone trying to re edit video.

What's the deal with the solid state drives?

I think it is the pace of modern life that makes folk impatient.

As in....

'Look I have to go to work in five minutes & I simply have to get my rocks off first!

True, they do not necessarily have to be mutually exclusive.
There can be progression through erotic to explicit.
The problem usually lies in the headlong, furious rush to reach explicit.

Doing it the other way usually doesn't work though.

Torrid Art & Figure Baby seem to be doing OK with it.

Just like any collector though...I always want more material!

A very pretty young speech therapist was getting nowhere
with her Stammerers Action group. She had tried every
technique in the book without the slightest
success.

Finally, thoroughly exasperated, she said "If any of you can tell me the name of the town where you were born, without stuttering, I will have wild and passionate sex with you until your muscles ache and your eyes water.
So, who wants to go first ?"

The Englishman piped up.
"B-b-b-b-b-b-b-irmingham", he said.

"That's no use, Trevor" said the speech therapist, "Who's next ?"

The Scotsman raised his hand and blurted out
"P-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-aisley".

That's no better. There'll be no sex for you either, I'm afraid,Hamish.

How about you, Paddy ?

The Irishman took a deep breath and eventually blurted out

" London ".

"Brilliant,Paddy!" said the speech therapist and immediately set about living up to her promise.

After 15 minutes of exceptionally steamy sex, the couple paused for breath and Paddy
said

"-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-erry!"

I think it is self fulfilling prophecy in the respect that if there is little or nothing to choose from not many people will be subscribing.

I mean just look at the quantity of views on this thread!

My good friend M. has it absolutely on the button there!

That is exactly the style of site that I am asking for.

That really goes back to the instant gratification desire that seems to be prevalent.

I am sure there are plenty of folk, especially around here, who appreciate the subtleties & anticipation of eroticism done correctly!
