Maryland is home turf for me. We have the worst drivers I've ever seen and our insurance rates reflect it. I've been told L.A. is worse, but I haven't seen the west coast yet. But, of the 30 states I have been in, Maryland and neighboring Washington, D.C. are by far the worst. We don't know how to merge onto a highway. We don't let anyone get in front of us by tailgating the car in front of us. A 15 foot car will fit in a 20 foot space at 70 mph. The word 'yield' is a foreign language and always ignored. (I've been cussed out and flipped off because I didn't give up my right of way even though the other driver had a yield sign) Morning and evening rush hours looks like bumper cars, with at least 4 or 5 accidents being reported on the radio. If you're passing an accident? Add at least 45 minutes to your commute. (Add a mere 30 minutes if the accident is on the other side of the highway) And, yes, we hang out in the fast lane, going under the speed limit, ignoring the line of cars that are jockeying around behind us, pulling any crazy maneuver possible to get around the slowpoke.

If the woman was pulled over on 95, it was probably a State trooper. They're pretty much hit or miss with the tickets. We have a no handheld cell phone law and I've yet to see anyone pulled over for it, despite 1 out of 5 drivers having a phone stuck to their ear. I once got a ticket for doing 65 in a 55 while I was being passed by everything else on the road. I even asked him why he was a ticketing the loser in the race. His answer? "Speeding is speeding, sir". I've also been the proud recipient of a ticket for doing 60 in a 60 on a long straight and empty highway because there was a light rain falling. But, by far, my favorite ticket was at 4 am while going to work. Pitch black outside and he saw that I wasn't wearing a seat belt when I passed his parked car at 55 miles an hour. Yeah - State boys are fun.

Rant over. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

Don't sell yourself short. There's definitely no reason to compare your reviews to others. Looking at over a dozen of your reviews, just about every one that got a reply was to thank you for a good review - and I didn't see any that asked for more details. Not everyone is interested in little things like bit rates or the names of the photographers. If I wasn't stuck on joining the same few sites over and over again, I could easily see me checking out a site based on the information you've given. Again - don't sell yourself short! I'm definitely the wrong one to ask. I've been fed up with mainstream porn for years and find myself going back to the same few sites over and over again. Fortunately for me, I'm a hoarder and happy enough going back over the ton of stuff I downloaded years ago. I almost always find myself looking at something I haven't seen in a long time or even forgot I had.

This is something new to me and has me wondering if Epoch has all of a sudden decided not to accept re-chargeable credit cards?????. So, any ideas when it comes to a good site that might use Epoch so I can see if my card works with them?

No idea what to tell you there, other than writing directly to Epoch, asking them what the problem is.

That's one hell of a challenge. You've ruled out just about all of the heavy hitters in the industry. But I certainly understand your frustration with what is being offered these days.
The answer lies in what you think you might like to watch and that, of course, is a matter of personal preference. You also might be limiting yourself on choices if you insist on only using Epoch as the billing agent. I don't think that any of the few sites I go back to even offer Epoch billing. In a way, the character limit does help you write a better review. When they're running long, it makes you go over everything to weed out stuff that really isn't necessary. I don't think I've ever written a review and posted my first draft. I tend to put it aside and come back to it the next day to see how it reads. Most of the time, I'll do that two or three times and wind up surprised at what I can cut out. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

I'm a big fan of TMPGenc's Video Mastering Works 5. I'm not so quick to learn new tricks anymore and I found it really easy to master the basics of the program. A bit of messing around with the settings for a month or so got me to the point where my family has now charged me with editing video taken at family get-togethers. It will open every video file type I've ever run into and outputs to 8 different adjustable quality formats. You can edit music and make slideshows with it. The interface is loaded with large, intuitive buttons for the majority of things you'll probably want to use to manipulate your files. Fading in/out, crossfading, resizing, speed control, color settings and plenty more.

Unfortunately, it's not cheap - $100US. On the plus side, there is a free trial that (I'm pretty sure) is full-function. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

I'm with messmer on this one. From the files I've downloaded, the mp4s are as good as or better than the wmvs. The slightly lower file size is a nice bonus. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

You're welcome
The settings can be a bit tricky at first, mostly because there are a ton of 'em. But, to do screencaps, you'll have to at least find out where the folder is that they'll save to. Personally, I change the folder for easier access

One hint: You can press Shift+S to take a screen shot Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

I just took one from my highest resolution video file to show you. A scene from Avatar.

I capture in png format which, unfortunately, imagevenue doesn't allow. The screencap was converted to jpg which lowers the resolution because of the compression. But I think you can see it's still pretty clear. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

That's a shame - I'm always looking for a new utility to make things easier. That tool won't work here because I don't have W7. I'm a reluctant XP user, still wishing I could be on my beloved W2K. But the way I capture, there really isn't much to do other than a quick crop. Not too much of an issue for someone with either a video editor or graphic editor open damn near all the time. I don't do a lot of screencaps so I just use Alt + Print Screen. The Alt key makes it take a shot of just the active window, so if I have a video running full screen, it just grabs the video - no frame or anything else to crop out later. Only problem is, some players work differently than others. My method works with VLC but not Winamp. I prefer VLC anyway because you can move video frame by frame to get exactly the picture you want. ^ Not sure I understand that. At first you seem to favor DVDs, then you say you don't have to jump up and down and get a better selection with hard drives.

I used to love DVDs. But, about the time my collection was about to be measured in terabytes, DVDs got to be too much to handle. Corrupted discs, shelf space, and even finding a specific disc was too much of a chore. Yeah, it's hard to jump around within a particular video when all you have is a slider bar and one or two "jump to" keys on the media player, but I like the convenience of almost instant access to the files. The hardest problem I have now is remembering which site's material is on which drive.

You did give me something to look into though - I know my video editor allows the marking/insertion of keyframes, now I need to see if there's a way to seek the frames with VLC or another media player. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

When I saw the title, my first thought was, "Sitting".

I'll usually watch full scenes, but I also like to make what I call theme compilations. 20 strippers, 30 solo girls, etc... I'll chop episodes up and string them together to make long videos out of them. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

Yeah - the ads are getting crazy, but I can't say I've ever seen an ad play over the feature. If that's what you're seeing, I would suggest just letting the ad run 'til it ends, click the X to close it if necessary, then move the slider on the feature video back to the beginning to watch it in its entirety. Google has also changed their image search function to filter out adult content by default, with no option to allow it. I've also noticed web searches don't show nearly as many hits for adult material websites as it used to.

That's Google's loss. At least for now, there are other search engines. I just hope this form of censorship doesn't spread. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity. Edited on Feb 27, 2013, 03:36pm

I wish I had saved the articles I'd read on why not to try getting into the porn business. They came from sources of both failed and successful producers. Unfortunately, Google isn't being much of a help in finding them again. But, what I do recall from my reading is that there are so many unseen issues to be dealt with that the chances of actually making money are slim to none. Aside from the need to buy all the equipment and find the people to be in your productions, there are legal matters to contend with, insurance issues, health and safety concerns, and, in general, just dealing with all the people involved in the producing your product. In other words, it might look like a chance to make a quick and easy buck, but you're just kidding yourself. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

Spam comes from just about anywhere. I had to laugh when my mother and I were talking about her computer one day. She's the queen of clicking on anything and everything. When I'm not cleaning some virus off her computer, I'm constantly having to go in and clean out her cookies and set permissions for cookies on Firefox. The reason I had to laugh? This is a (near) quote from Mom:

"Who is sending me penis enlargement emails? And I think it's disgusting that I keep getting some from that F-Book all the time. That's just nasty".

I think it's safe to say that if Mom doesn't like the word fuck, she's not surfing for free porn. I'm just as sure that she's never signed up at FemJoy. All that to say, I doubt FemJoy sold your email to a list. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

No, messmer, it's not your age. It's a greedy industry that's sacrificed quality in favor of quantity. Not that the people here represent porn subscribers everywhere, but what we're starting to see on PU might be an indication that people are finally getting fed up with mass-produced crap. Maybe the sites will have to start finding a way to put some individual flair in their material. Then again, it might be just be wishful thinking on my part. It would be nice though! You're not alone, turbo, but you (and I) are definitely in the minority. I think the average person doesn't have the balls to stop following the herd - and the people selling their products and/or services know that. Hype anything the right way and someone will buy it. My favorite analogy is texting and the need to upgrade your smartphone all the time. Somehow, the industry has us believing that typing out messages all day long is a convenience we can't live without. And, if you don't a phone with 120 features, including an app to track the average rainfall in Brazil, you're a loser.

I've seen that Tumblr page you mentioned. They all look good to me! Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

At least to me, the utter crap you're talking about is the world of gonzo - porn cranked out like paper from a copier. I don't know why this seems to be my stock answer these days, but I'd say check out Joymii. I was on the site close to the time they launched it and I really liked what I saw - a good mix of solo action and hardcore. Well-lit, no guys abusing the girls and no couples trying to fuck each other in every position they could think of in 10 minutes. With the highest resolution listed at 1280, I can't imagine the video would look bad at all.
TBP just reviewed them in January and gave them an 88, but that number looks like it reflects the lower score they gave for pictures - not much of an issue for video fans. It also doesn't hurt that they've got a discount going right now. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

I'm not sure if it does, Khan. I understand having to register to be able to receive notices, but I can't imagine that all of the webmasters of all of the sites listed on TBP are registered. Maybe I'm mistaken? Do they have to be registered to be listed? If they aren't all registered, that's when my question would kick in. It's often occurred to me that there aren't a lot of webmasters who participate here. Because of that, there are plenty of times when we see a comment or review that touches on some points that we never get to hear from the site to address them. My question is, do you ever invite a site's staff to join us here, or is there some issue that I might not see that would prohibit you from doing so? Picture a skinny guy, 5 foot 9, about 120 pounds, wearing two-toned gray, patent leather shoes that took him up to 6 foot 1. Yeah - the disco era was crazy! But I DID get laid! Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

They aren't cheap, but I've seen some ruggedized laptops that seem to put up with a lot of abuse. Rubberized cases, water-resistant keyboards with SSD drives so shocks aren't an issue. Look at the Panasonic Toughbooks. I think I recall seeing an ad where they even poured water on the keyboard to show some of what they can deal with. I agree - that's why I absolutely refuse to shop at Walmart.
Toshiba's ethics may suck, but they are still a third hard drive manufacturer. Then again, most of the hard drives I've seen lately are made in China - and I've seen some reports of horror stories in their factories too. Looks like capitalism is devaluing labor worldwide now. messmer - Despite the year I took off, I've still been here for years. So, obviously, I can understand wanting to drop out for a while. But there's no reason I can think of that means it has to be the end of your time here. You might notice that I don't have many points next to my name and I don't have a ton of reviews up. Points and reviews aren't the sum total of what PU is about. Discussions, opinions and just generally running our mouths (e.g. RANTS!) about whatever is on our minds is more the course we take here.

The choice is yours, of course. But I, for one, would miss your presence here. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity. Edited on Feb 11, 2013, 08:46pm
