Mac Davis, the singer-songwriter who parlayed pop and country hits into a network TV variety show and acting career, has died. He was 78.

His manager of nearly four decades, Jim Morey, announced Davis’ death on Facebook Tuesday night. “He was a music legend but his most important work was that as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend,” Morey wrote. “I will miss laughing about our many adventures on the road and his insightful sense of humor.” The Country Music Association later confirmed the news.

Country superstar Kenny Chesney offered his tribute to Davis, saying, “I met Mac as a young artist just starting out on my journey, when he was already a legend and a songwriting hero to me. He welcomed me into his home, and turned that tremendous creative light on me. Even though he’d written ‘In The Ghetto’ for Elvis and had so many incredible hits of his own, he made me feel like what I was doing mattered. A small town boy who’d achieved the greatest kinds of fame, he remained a good guy, a family man. That was Mac: a giant heart, quick to laugh and a bigger creative spirit. I was blessed to have it shine on me. And Mac, who was joyous, funny and created a family around him, never stopped writing great songs, creating music and inspiring everyone around him. He loved his wife Lisa and his kids, and all kinds of people. He kept in touch, always a kind word, a new joke or a piece of song he was working on, which made him a blessing to everyone who came into his life.”

Davis became known as the songwriter behind the Elvis Presley hits “In the Ghetto,” “A Little Less Conversation” and “Memories” before reaching No. 1 himself on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Baby, Don’t Get Hooked on Me” in 1971. He soon parlayed his pop success into a career based more in country music. Davis was named entertainer of the year at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 1974 and was nominated for that same title the same year by the Country Music Association.

Davis’ sex appeal and easy charm made him a favorite on the talk show circuit, and he was rewarded with his own NBC variety series, “The Mac Davis Show,” from 1974-76, followed by annual network Christmas specials that spanned well into the ’80s. He even had a brief span as a leading man in feature films, peaking right out of the gate as Nick Nolte’s fellow leading man in the 1979 football drama “North Dallas Forty.”

After that successful kickoff to his acting career, Davis was less successful as a solo romantic lead in 1981’s “Cheaper to Keep Her” and as a card shark opposite Jackie Gleason in the ill-fated “The Sting II,” which carried over none of the cast from the original film. After those two theatrical flops, Davis moved on mostly to appearing in TV movies and episodic shows, from “Webster” and “Lois & Clark” to a five-episode voice acting run on “King of the Hill” as Sheriff Buford and “Sports Jock.” HIs last screen role was as Reverend Riggs in 2019’s “Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings,” the show produced by Parton, his friend and fellow country star of many decades.

Davis has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

He was enlisted by the Country Music Association as co-host of the org’s annual awards show, with Barbara Mandrell, in the years 1980-82.

“Today our country community lost an amazing entertainer, songwriter and artist,” said Sarah Trahern, the CMA’s CEO. “I remember watching Mac’s TV show as a kid as well as his three years co-hosting the CMA Awards with Barbara Mandrell, which proved his command of the TV medium as well as the music. Personally, though, I am saddened to recall a wonderful day spent with Mac and his wife Lise Gerard at our CMA Songwriters Series show at the Library of Congress just a few years ago. He held command of the room backstage with lively stories and a genuine love of the craft of storytelling. When he performed “In the Ghetto” that night, fellow songwriter Pam Tillis pointed out that sadly the song is as pertinent today as it was when Mac wrote it in the late 1960s. His timeless artistry will be sorely missed.”

His roots as a songwriter were celebrated when the publishing rights organization BMI gave him its lifetime achievement honor, the Icon award, at its annual Nashville-based country awards show in 2015.

Davis played with Nancy Sinatra on stage and on record in the late 1960s, and it was her publishing company, Boots, that published the hits he wrote for Presley.

After “Baby Don’t Get Hooked on Me,” Davis had three more singles reach the top 20 in 1974-75: “One Hell of a Woman,” “Stop and Smell the Roses” and “Rock ‘n’ Roll (I Gave You the Best Years of My Life).” Among those, “Roses” reached No. 9 on the Hot 100 and went to No. 1 on the adult contemporary chart.

Ironically, although he would ultimately become best known as a country singer, he struck out in that format throughout the ’70s and didn’t have a real hit in the genre until he scored four top 10 hits in a row in 1980-81, with “It’s Hard to Be Humble,” “Let’s Keep It That Way,” “Texas in My Rearview Mirror” and “Hooked on Music,” his biggest country hit at No. 2. His sixth and last country top 10 hit, “I Never Made Love (Til I Made It With You),” arrived in 1985.

His last album, “Will Write Songs for Food,” came out in 1994 and featured a duet with Dolly Parton as well as recreations of past songwriting triumphs like “In the Ghetto.”

Davis had recently taped an episode of “Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast” in which he discussed the breadth of his career in Hollywood and Nashville; it premiered last month.

A hacker published thousands of students' grades and private information after a Nevada school district refused to pay ransom.

Why didn't the FBI or the cybersecurity experts shut down the online hacker forums?

Maybe they were too busy taking a coffee break, or planning their next weekend vacation.

The leaked information included students' names, social security numbers, addresses, and some financial information, and were published on an online hacker forum this week, a cybersecurity analyst told Business Insider.

Cybersecurity experts and law enforcement agencies — including the FBI — say targets should avoid paying ransom at all costs in order to put hackers out of business.

It's better to have your credit card data released online, and your identity stolen, opening you up to having your bank and credit accounts stolen, instead of paying off these cyber criminals.

That's what the FBI says.

Contact the FBI and your local law enforcement if your credit cards and other financial records are hacked.
They are on your side.
And will hold your hand while the thieves steal your money.

The FBI, guardians of the public safety of US citizens.

A hacker published grades and personal information of thousands of Las Vegas students after school district officials refused to pay a ransom in exchange for the information.

The leaked information included students' names, social security numbers, addresses, and some financial information, and were published on an online hacker forum this week, a cybersecurity analyst told Business Insider.

Las Vegas' Clark County School District announced earlier this month that some of its files were compromised by a hacker using ransomware and that law enforcement was investigating.

Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories.

Last month, Las Vegas' largest public school district announced that a hacker compromised some of its files using ransomware and was holding the files hostage while demanding a ransom payment.

Now, a hacker has published files containing students' grades and personal information after school district officials refused to pay the ransom.

Brett Callow, a threat analyst with cybersecurity firm Emsisoft, told Business Insider that he discovered leaked documents published to an online hacking forum that purported to include records from Nevada's Clark County School District, including students' names, social security numbers, addresses, and some financial information. Callow's findings were first reported by The Wall Street Journal on Monday.

A Clark County School District spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The district previously disclosed that it suffered a ransomware attack during its first week of online classes and said law enforcement was investigating.

Ransomware attacks have increased in recent years, and schools have been increasingly targeted this fall as more classes and sensitive files have moved online. At least 60 school districts and universities in the US have been targeted by ransomware attacks this year, according to an Emsisoft tally.

The attacks put targets between a rock and a hard place, forcing them to choose whether to pay hefty ransoms to criminals or to risk people's personal information being leaked online. Cybersecurity experts and law enforcement agencies — including the FBI — say targets should avoid paying ransom at all costs in order to put hackers out of business.

"Ransomware attacks happen for one reason, and one reason only: they're profitable," Callow told Business Insider. "The only way way to stop them is to make them unprofitable, and that means organizations must stop paying ransoms."

It might be wrong, but most sites do not give a discount on a re-curring membership. That's just the way it is.

The same principle goes for cable subscribers, newspaper subscriptions, magazine subs, etc.
They almost all give a lower rate for new subs, than for members who choose to renew their memberships.

Loyalty is not rewarded. Instead, it's penalized.
Sad, but true.

Looks like a teen site similar to the Wow sites, but much smaller.
The Wow sites (Wow Girls, Wow Porn, All Fine Girls) has much more content, with a lot more models. But it's been around so much longer.

But the slim4k site seems like a nice site, with some of the same teen models most porn fans are familiar with.

Would be nice if the PU staff dropped by the thread every so often and left some comments, to let the PU members know the thread is active, and that the PU staff is following up on the PU member site suggestions.

I guess I'm in the minority.
I don't have Roku or Amazon Fire.
I don't watch on a TV screen.
I watch Netflix and Amazon Prime and Hulu and whatever else I watch on computers. Either a desktop or laptop.
(The laptop is connected to a 32" monitor, which gives me a nice viewing screen.)

But if I did watch on a TV, which I guess is the reason to have Roku or Amazon Fire, those services would be useful.
I guess.
Since I've never used them. Never explored what they can do.

But peacock TV seems to work well, just with a computer to use the channel or service or whatever-you-call-it.

From a news article dated 07/11/2020, rumors of the Brie Larson Star Wars movie:

Disney Shuts Down Star Wars Brie Larson, Rian Johnson Movie
Matt McGloin Posted: 07/11/2020 - 12:24

It's claimed that Disney may have shut down a Star Wars movie involving Brie Larson and Rian Johnson as well as head of LucasFilm, Kathleen Kennedy.

The Star Wars info once again comes from the "future ruler of Earth," Doomcock from the Overlord DVD YouTube channel who recently offered that Disney is resetting Star Wars and that Kathleen Kennedy will be stepping down.

Lord Doomcock also previously provided all those Skywalker spoilers as well as the information on how Brie Larson is being second-guessed at Disney.

The Youtuber also previously offered that a Star Wars "civil war" is taking place at Disney between Kathleen Kennedy and her people, and those that are loyal to George Lucas, such as Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.

Brie Larson Star Wars Disney
Kathleen Kennedy wants Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic with Brie Larson, Rian Johnson, Taika Waititi

Doomcock explains in his latest video that Kathleen Kennedy is attempting to develop a Knights of the Old Republic movie starring Brie Larson that would be directed by both Taika Waititi and Rian Johnson.

He goes over how a source of his filled him about a conversation the source had with a Disney LucasFilm insider, "Mr. X," about the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic movie starring Brie Larson that is (or was) being developed by Kennedy.

"My source asked if there were Knights of the Old Republic movies in development," explained Doomcock. "Mr. X hesitantly confirmed, 'That yes, Kathleen Kennedy is helming a Knights of the Old Republic film. But if the rumors are even true, the news is worse than even that.' My source asked, 'What rumors?' Mr. X replied, 'It's looking like Brie Larson is going to be in it. Word is she will either play Bastila Shan or Reven.' My source didn't flinch at that saying they already heard that, but then Mr. X replied, 'Yeah but have you heard who is directing this movie?' My source answered, 'We were told it was Taika Waititi, right?' 'Yes, he is, but it turns out there is going to be a second director. Rian Johnson.' At this point, my source lost it."

Doomcock continued: "Imagine Kathleen Kennedy producing a perversion of Knights of the Republic starring Brie Larson directed by Taika Waititi and Rian Johnson? Can you imagine it?"

Doomcock goes on to explain how the Kathleen Kennedy Knights of the Republic movie relates to his previous information regarding how Disney is going to reset Star Wars through a concept created in the Star Wars Rebels animated series.

"Mr. X said this was Kennedy's way to sabotage the effort to destroy the Sequel Trilogy using the Veil of The Force, but would elaborate no further," said Doomcock.

Kathleen Kennedy Star Wars LucasFilm
Kathleen Kennedy may be out from LucasFilm and Star Wars

Now here is where things get interesting as it relates to the "civil war" said to be taking place regarding the future of Star Wars, as Doomcock says sources have filled him in that a meeting was held on July 3 with Kathleen Kennedy, which might involve her stepping down and starting her own female-centric production company (as DC previously went over here).

"LucasFilm received a letter that all projects being developed by Kathleen Kennedy were stopped until further notice and all the budgeted funds for those projects were being pulled," explained Doomcock.

The YouTuber went on to explain that Kenndy's projects apparently being pulled or at the least reviewed didn't come from recent-CEO Bob Iger or the new CEO Bob Chapek, but from the fiscal side of things at Disney, the "money people."

Doomcock also says that a big announcement will be coming the first week of September from Disney about the future of Star Wars, but offers he doesn't know if it will be good news, meaning, Kathleen Kennedy is out, or if it will be bad news, meaning Kennedy will still be in charge and the Brie Larson and Rian Johnson Knights of the Old Republic movie may happen -- again all of which depends on how the Star Wars "civil war" plays out.

Worth a mention is that Brie Larson recently revealed she tried out for Star Wars, but made it sound as if she didn't get the part, so perhaps it was the Knights of the Old Republic that Disney may have shut down.

www.peacocktv.com

peacocktv Free and Premium versions.

I just found peacocktv.

There is a free version. Which is ad-supported. So you have to watch ads before and during the programs you choose to watch.

And there is a premium version. Which is $4.99/month. Which I assume is less ads or no ads.

I just signed up today for the free version.

There are plenty of good movies and shows to watch.
And the ads are not too intrusive.

I pay $5.99 for the Hulu ad-supported version (a different service).
The ads at the Hulu ad-supported version are much longer and more frequent than the ads at peacock,I think.

Check out the free version of peacock. I think you might be suprised at how much is offered.

Or if you have more money, you can try to premium version, which is inexpensive.

But just starting out, the free version of peacock seems like a great deal.
A lot of really nice shows, and some good movies.

Separately, if you're a subscriber to some cable services, you can get the peacock premium service for no charge.

I'm also looking for the new Dune movie.
Great cast.
I read the book back in the 1960's, and read the original followups by Herbert, but stopped reading them after his son took over the franchise after Herbert died.

I enjoyed the Dune movie by David Lynch, didn't understand why it bombed and everyone considered it a failure, even Lynch himself.

But everyone has his or her own personal tastes.

But I am looking forward to the new Dune movie, when it comes out on DVD.

I wouldn't mind seeing in a movie theater, but don't want to take the risk. I'm over 70, in poor health, so I'd be stupid to go to a movie theater.

Note: Do not try this at home.

Driving a car inside a house may cause damage to the house.
And may cause damage to yourself.

Also, even though whippits are cheap way to get high, they can be dangerous.

Do not overload on whipped cream. That can lead to overweight issues.

Can also lead to mental health issues. Whipped cream over-indulgence is bad for the brain.

And nitrous oxide can also be bad for the brain.

A bad or damaged brain can interfere with an appreciation for good porn.

So, be safe, and avoid sniffing nitrous oxide.

This man is a real-life hero.
His name has been suppressed, by authorities, who are afraid the man will become the next action super-star in the movies.

Read how the man was able to zoom through the air in his car, as the drawbridge started to rise.

Unfortunately, the man's car suffered 4 blown tires, and he damaged the bridge's safety gates.

But apparently the man himself was not harmed, even though he was arrested by authorities for destruction of public property.

I am nominating this hero for the Presidential Medal of Honor, for bravery and courage under fire.

The man also deserves a medal for helping to popularize a low-cost way to get high: whippets.

Driver launches car across drawbridge as it starts to rise, Michigan police say

A driver in Michigan took a daring risk when a drawbridge began to move Wednesday evening, police say.

The drawbridge on Fort Street in Detroit started to rise around 7 p.m. as a 26-year-old man approached, WXYZ reported. As the bridge rose, the man launched his Dodge sedan across, according to the outlet.

He successfully made it to the other side, but damaged his tires and the bridge’s safety gates in the process, WXYZ reported.

“Over he went, blew out all four of his tires, and then he crashed into the other gate,” a witness told WDIV, adding that it seemed like something out of “The Blues Brothers” movie.

Police likened it to a scene from “Dukes of Hazard” and suspect the driver had been doing “whippits,” according to the outlet.

A whippit is when someone inhales nitrous oxide gas to get high, usually from a whipped-cream can, per Vice.

The man was arrested and charges for malicious destruction of property over $1,000 are pending, The Detroit News reported.

He’s being held at the Detroit Detention Center, according to the outlet.

The driver’s name has not been released by authorities.

I would like to see a movie in a theater.
But several problems:
I'm afraid of getting the virus. The pain and chance of dying are not worth the risk.
Movie prices are high.
So I will wait for the movies I want to watch to be on DVD or other venues.

After ‘Tenet’ Stumbles and ‘Wonder Woman 2’ Moves, Movie Theaters Brace for Rough Fall

By Brent Lang, Rebecca Rubin

The ShowRoom Cinema in Asbury Park and the Beach Cinema in Bradley Beach got the greenlight to reopen at the end of August when New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy lifted restrictions on movie theaters. Mike Sodano, who owns both venues, says that even though he can turn on the marquee lights again after dimming them for roughly six months, he’s hesitant to start welcoming back customers.

“Movie theaters need three things to sustain themselves,” says Sodano. “They need profits, they need people and they need product. Well, this pandemic has affected all three.”

Sodano isn’t sure when he’ll begin making moves to reopen. The box office performance of Warner Bros.’ “Tenet,” the Christopher Nolan science-fiction epic that many exhibitors hoped would lure audiences back to cinemas during the coronavirus, has done little to assuage his anxiety. The film earned a meager $6.7 million in its second weekend, bringing its domestic haul to a disappointing $29.5 million.

“‘Tenet’ is a big movie, Christopher Nolan is a big director, and Warner Bros. is a big studio, but there’s one thing they can’t control, and that’s their audience,” says Sodano. “I know this is a marathon and not a sprint, but when you look at those numbers, it does not give me confidence that people are ready to come back to theaters.”

Studios seem to agree. Last week, Warner Bros. moved “Wonder Woman 1984” from Oct. 2 to Christmas, and Universal pushed “Candyman” from Oct. 16 to an undetermined time in 2021. That followed the decision by Disney’s 20th Century to delay “The King’s Man” from Sept. 18 to Feb. 26, 2021. On Sept. 14, STX added to the list of postponements, announcing it would release the Gerard Butler disaster film “Greenland” in the U.S. at some unspecified point in the fourth quarter instead of debuting it this month.

There’s also skepticism that Disney will go forward with its plans to release “Black Widow,” the upcoming Marvel movie, on Nov. 6, or the Pixar adventure “Soul” on Nov. 20, particularly if theaters aren’t allowed to come back online in Los Angeles and New York, where they remain shuttered. That means cinemas will have to gamble that “Tenet” remains enough of a draw that it can keep the box office humming until “No Time to Die,” the next James Bond adventure, opens on Nov. 20. In the meantime, exhibitors are begging studios to take a look at the films they’ve pushed into 2021 and reconsider launching them in October or late September, which are now largely devoid of big-budget releases.

It’s easy to understand the mounting panic among theater owners. In a business that cycles through blockbusters on an almost weekly basis, nearly two months is an eternity to go without a new crowd-pleaser.

As for “Tenet,” the film may still make a profit, but it will have to claw its way into the black.

“‘Tenet’ is doing about as well as can be expected, but a lot of things are going against it,” says Eric Wold, an exhibition industry analyst with B. Riley. “Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco are closed, and a lot of people don’t want to leave the house because they’re concerned. I’m not sure we’ll see a lot of new content until more markets open up and more consumers feel safe.”

It’s a sad state of play that’s unthinkable for a Nolan enterprise, given that the filmmaker helmed megahits like 2008’s “The Dark Knight” ($1 billion worldwide) and 2010’s “Inception” ($833 million). The fact that “Tenet” has a fighting chance is largely due to foreign grosses. The film has earned nearly $200 million globally, mainly on the strength of its overseas revenues, but it will need to top $400 million to break even.

“Where people feel safe, they are going to the movies,” said Richard Gelfond, CEO of Imax Corporation. “That’s how it’s playing out with ‘Tenet.’ The international results in places like China are really good. In the U.S., people didn’t come out in the same numbers.”

For movie theaters that took the risk of reopening — implementing safety measures, orchestrating extra auditorium cleanings and hiring back staff and training them to adhere to new protocols — the dearth of studio content is a big stumbling block. Many venues say they are already operating at a loss, but they believe it’s important to start showing movies again so people will get back in the habit of going to the multiplexes. There’s a chance that some venues could reduce hours of operation, or only open certain days of the week, if attendance remains low.

“It feels like distribution has kind of abandoned the movie theaters,” says Brian Schultz, founder and CEO of Studio Movie Grill, which operates theaters in 10 states. “I understand the core economics at play here, but without new product, we can’t keep things going. Christopher Nolan put an amazing stake in the ground with ‘Tenet,’ but now other studios need to follow his lead.”

So far, filmmakers and media conglomerates are hesitant to take the baton from Nolan. And while major releases such as “West Side Story” and “Dune” still are expected to flicker across screens before the New Year, it’s unclear if the public health situation will improve dramatically in the coming months. Fall and winter will bring flu season, which could make customers who are frightened of the coronavirus even more skittish about venturing out of their homes as cases of COVID-19 in the U.S. remain much higher than in other countries.

“The theatrical business is broken right now,” says David A. Gross, head of the consulting firm Franchise Entertainment Research. “This is an unfamiliar situation. The challenges from the pandemic are beyond the business’s control.”

Faced with this kind of existential threat, analysts expect that domestic box office will drop more than 80% year over year, a sign of just how great a toll the pandemic has taken on revenues. That’s bad news for studios, but many of them are part of sprawling media conglomerates that can withstand the financial hit. Movie theaters have had to pay rent for months while taking in virtually no revenue — and their balance sheets may not improve even when they are allowed to resume operations. Many states require operators to keep venues at 25% capacity so social distancing can be enforced. That means margins are shrinking. Cinemas make most of their money selling popcorn and soda, but fewer people in seats means less activity at the concession stand. That’s made some exhibitors apprehensive about taking the steps to welcome back audiences.

Nic Steele, the founder and owner of Eclipse Theatre in Las Vegas, originally considered reopening when “Tenet” hit screens. But after he crunched the numbers, he decided that he couldn’t make it work. His theaters couldn’t be profitable unless at least half the seats in his auditoriums were full, something that’s impossible given current public health rules. Also, rehiring people, training them and buying supplies to keep his venues free of COVID-19 will add to his costs, making profitability more problematic if revenues are lower.

“If you open too soon and there’s no product out, or just an OK-performing movie every few months, you’re sitting there with a lot of fixed costs and no revenue coming in,” says Steele. “Your cash-burn rate is going to eat up reserves. Whether there’s one guest or 50 guests, a lot of the fixed costs are the same.”

Theaters that have taken the plunge report mixed results. Studio Movie Grill, which operates in states such as Texas and Florida, has reopened 19 of its 31 theaters, but it’s been a struggle to draw crowds. Schultz says his most fervent customers have returned, but that his locations are still receiving calls from potential ticket buyers who aren’t sure if cinemas are back in business.

“There’s a lot of confusion,” he says. “It’s been a slow process, and we have to keep countering the message that movie theaters are shut down.”

Schultz hopes that studios and exhibitors can join together to tout theaters’ new safety precautions and to embark on a campaign to get audiences to visit their local cinemas again. But there’s one major stumbling block: content.

“I want people to know that we’re ready for them to come back to the movies,” says Schultz. “But everything depends on how we all act. If guests come back in droves, then studios will start releasing movies again. If studios start releasing more movies, then audiences will return to theaters. It’s a Catch-22.”

fakesharen009 (the at symbol) yahoo.com

That address works, since I tested it with an email, and also received an email from a former PU member.

pinkerton,

Glad to hear you won the $500 Amazon gift card.
But that's more cash than I can handle.
Hope that gameflip can handle the exchange.

Or, maybe you can try sending Tom D a few emails, and the PU staff can solve the problem.

Would be nice if the PU staff solved the problem.
Easiest solution.
And maybe it would help them realize that different gift cards need to be chosen for the UK and Canada for some winners.

as a followup, after speaking with tech help apparently I tried to copy over too many items at one time and that corrupted some of the copies.
[/QUOTE

I would return the Generrica drive.
To me, it doesn't make sense to have a drive that corrupts files if you try to copy too many files at the same time.

I'm not tech savvy, but if a drive doesn't allow copies of large files, it seems to be defective.

And that's why I returned a new Seagate HDD, because it dropped files I tried to copy.

Watch for the point when the older female won't respond by giving tongue, and the younger girl jumps on the unresponsive partner in frustration.

Loving is a two-way street.
Respect your partner's feelings.
That's the best way to a healthy relationship.

For 18 years old and older.

One of the lebos might be under-age. Not sure how old she is.
But she's kinda cute, in an odd sort of way.

Diana Rigg,

In her old aged, she turned bitter and vengeful.
All she wanted was to bring down the House of Lannister.

She even sacrificed Margaery Tyrell (played by the lovely Natalie Dormer, one of the hottest babes on the Game of Thrones cast), to the Lannisters.

Rigg would have been smarter to marry Dormer to me.
I would have treated Dormer better in bed than the wimp she was forced to marry.

(In my dreams.)

I'm not sure how much of an expert the Catholic pope is on sex, but he says that having sex and eating good food is divine.

One of the definitions of gluttony (a sin) is eating delicacies and better quality food.

So maybe Catholics are now free to enjoy both good sex and good food.
Or am I mis-understanding what the good pope is preaching?

--------
--------

Pope Francis says having sex and eating good food is 'simply divine'

HuffPost US
Jeremy Blum
Sep 12th 2020 9:44AM

Pope Francis wants you to eat well and enjoy sex.

The pope spoke on cuisine and intercourse during a series of interviews with Carlo Petrini, an Italian culinary writer and activist behind the “slow food” movement, which positions itself as the opposite of fast food and advocates a slower, more meaningful pace of life.

“Pleasure arrives directly from God,” Francis told Petrini. “It is neither Catholic, nor Christian, nor anything else. It is simply divine.”

Francis critiqued the “overzealous morality” of a Roman Catholic Church that denounced pleasure in the past, calling it a “wrong interpretation of the Christian message.”

“The church has condemned inhuman, brutish, vulgar pleasure, but has on the other hand always accepted human, simple, moral pleasure,” Francis said. “The pleasure of eating is there to keep you healthy by eating, just like sexual pleasure is there to make love more beautiful and guarantee the perpetuation of the species. ... The pleasure of eating and sexual pleasure [comes] from God.”

Francis pointed to the 1987 film “Babette’s Feast,” saying it represented his ideas on pleasure. The pope has lauded the film in the past, particularly praising the actions of its protagonist, a chef who prepares an elaborate feast for members of a Protestant village.

“The most intense joys in life arise when we are able to elicit joy in others, as a foretaste of heaven,” Francis wrote in “Amoris Laetitia,” his 2016 apostolic exhortation. “We can think of the lovely scene in the film ‘Babette’s Feast,’ when the generous cook receives a grateful hug and praise: ‘Ah, how you will delight the angels!’ It is a joy and a great consolation to bring delight to others, to see them enjoying themselves. This joy, the fruit of fraternal love, is not that of the vain and self-centered, but of lovers who delight in the good of those whom they love, who give freely to them and thus bear good fruit.”

Francis’ conversations with Petrini were published in the Italian book “Terra Futura: Conversations With Pope Francis on Integral Ecology,” which was released on Wednesday and focuses on the pope’s views on culture, community and environmentalism.

Francis was “simply repeating the perennial Christian message on virtue and vice,” Catholic commentator Peter Williams told Newsweek in reference to the pope’s remarks on sex and food.

“By avoiding the twin evil extremes of repressive puritanism on the one hand and immoral libertinism on the other, both of which prevent or destroy happy enjoyment of good things like food or sex, the church rightly espouses the ‘golden mean,’” Williams told Newsweek.

WB Delaying ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ To Christmas & Keeping ‘Dune’ In December [UPDATED]
Charles Barfield
September 11, 2020 12:27 pm

According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, the outlet spoke with someone with knowledge of Warner Bros.’ plans for the film’s release and confirmed that WB is moving ‘WW84’ from its original October 2 debut to “a date later in the year.” This confirms the earlier report from Deadline that said the film would likely eye a November or December release.

The news comes as more analysts look at the mild debut from “Tenet” and realize that maybe WB shot itself in the foot by rushing Christopher Nolan’s film into theaters without the business being able to fully support a blockbuster film in a meaningful way. As we’ve seen, even when theater chains (approximately 70% of cinemas in the US are open, with more opening weekly) are mostly available for screenings, the capacity restrictions and social distancing requirements make it almost impossible for a $200 million film to recoup its money as would normally be expected.

It’s clear that WB is concerned that “Wonder Woman 1984” would crowd the market too much and be catastrophic for both it and “Tenet,” with the latter basically requiring more than a month (probably more than two months) of unopposed dominance to come close to earning its money back. So, naturally, the question remains—where will “Wonder Woman 1984” land?

The obvious spot is December 18, where WB’s own “Dune” currently sits. The studio could just remove “Dune” and replace it with the ‘Wonder Woman’ sequel, allowing for the film to dominate the Christmas season and early winter. Of course, there’s also the other option of early-November, where “Black Widow” currently sits. Speculation abounds that Disney is going to move “Black Widow” (or perhaps try something equally nuts, like the studio did with “Mulan”) to a later date. If that happens, suddenly there’s a gap that ‘WW84’ could occupy. Of course, then, it would have to compete with the likes of “No Time To Die” a couple of weeks later. And let’s be real, it’s highly unlikely that November is going to be drastically better in terms of the pandemic and theaters likely won’t be able to support “Tenet,” whatever other smaller films are released in October, and then “Wonder Woman 1984” plus “No Time to Die.”

Hell, that would have been a disaster for any theater at full strength, let alone still in recovery mode. Alas, all we know is that WB is delaying ‘WW84.’ We don’t know the obvious next step. At least, at this moment.

I've been trying to make Alexa a better girlfriend.
Or, at least, a more useful girlfriend.

I ask Alexa to send me some money.
She replies "I'm not a bank."

Again, I ask Alexa to send me some money.
Now she tells me "I seem to have misplaced my wallet."

Is Alexa being truthful?
Should I trade her in for a girl who tries to please me more?

Is Google better than Amazon?
I haven't tried the Google assistant yet.

Do any PU members have experience with the Google assistant, and the Amazon assistant, so they can tell which which is more useful?
More truthful?
More willing to please?

Desperately searching for a new girlfriend, in the time of the corona virus.

PU (and most other review sites) almost never give a reason why they stop listing porn pay sites.
Possible reasons include (I'm guessing here) disputes about payment for referrals, or the paysite stops the practice of paying for referrals (I'm using the term referral broadly, to mean anyone who clicks on a link from PU and joins the paysite).

Or, the PU site disagrees with the site management: they disagree with billing practices, or some other issue.

I wish PU would give reasons for de-listing a paysite. But they don't. For business reasons. And that's the way it goes.

Looks like a cam site, or an advertisement for a cam site.
Normally, I'm not interested in cam sites.

But a lot of people are.
If you like the performers, then go for it.
But keep a tight hold on your wallet, because some people can drop serious money on these sites.
While other people spend very little to nothing on these sites, although they watch them a lot.

Different strokes for different folks.

But for me, I don't want to get hooked on cam sites, because I already spend too much on porn paysites.
And there's only so much time in a day, to watch the sites I've already paid for.

Perhaps I should expand on pinkerton's tally:

His last posted review was on Sep 3, 03:09am.

Even if that posted review was not yet approved for the raffle count (the raffle count was supposedly made Sep 4), pinkerton still had 4 reviews which were posted before exotics posted his 3 reviews.

So how can pinkerton only have 18 entries from 4 posted reviews, even if his review on Sep 3 had not yet been approved and counted?

Sorry to be so blunt, but do you need additional help counting the reviews PU members are posting?

Tom D Admin, please explain the tally For Sep 9 raffle

On Sep 3 (or maybe it was Sep 4, both dates are shown for the announcement):

In the Announcements section of the PU homepage, Tom D posted the following:

09-03-20 Tally For September 9, 2020 Raffle UPDATED SEPTEMBER 4TH

Tally For September 9, 2020 Raffle UPDATED SEPTEMBER 4TH

Posted by Tom D Admin

September 03rd, 2020

Reply to Announcement As of September 4 20, 2020:

exotics4me is in the lead with 19 entries!

Pinkerton is second with 18 entries!

LKLK is in third with his 12 entries!

rearadmiral has earned 1 entry.

Trump2020 has 1 entry, too.

Wraith0711 also has 1 entry.

============================================

The results Tom D posted make very little sense.
Can you explain why exotics and pinkerton have the number of entries they do?

According to the rules, each approved review gets 5 entries.
(There are other ways to get entries, but 5 entries per approved review is the main method.)

exotics posted 3 reviews. He is listed with 19 entries.

pinkerton posted 5 reviews. He is listed with 18 entries.

If any of pinkerton's reviews were rejected, don't you think that PU should post a notice that the posted review was rejected?
To make it clear what the heck is happening?

You said the reviews and entries are supposed to be clear and transparent.

As far as I can tell, the entries tally are mired in fog.

How can pinkerton have 5 posted reviews, which should be worth 25 entries, and only have a tally of 18 entries?

I pay for most of my porn content, but I also look on tube sites to see what's available.

All I can suggest is putting your desired clip on a wish list.
And sometimes look through tube sites to see if an edited or full version of the clip of Anna Mae is present.

Family Therapy does have clips on most tube sites, I believe.
Most of those clips either have download disabled, or are pay-to-download.

But if the clip you wanted was deleted from clips4sale, a tube site might be your best or only option.

I believe that tube sites can hold material that was deleted from original sites long after the content was deleted from the original site.

Not much help.
But a random search is your only choice, I believe.

On the bright side, there are always plenty of new porn stars coming out, that might strike your fancy.

There are programs that allow you to download a copy of a streaming video.
I don't know how good the progams are.
And what the limitations of the programs are.
Whether you can download a copy from how many sites.

But that might be a work-around, to finding a paysite that allows downloading of the clip you are looking for.

I checked PornHub.com.
That is a tube site that has several Anna Mae videos.
If you sign up for the site, it's free signup, and that gives you downloading privileges for some of the videos at the site.
Other PornHub videos have downloading disabled, or are videos you have to pay to download.

Or, you can check indexxx.com, a free index of porn stars.

I asked Google about forgetting a password for a HDD.
Here is what Google suggested:

Ultimate Boot CD is completely free for the download, or could be obtained for a small fee. If you had somehow paid a ridiculous amount of money for it, you have most likely been fleeced.

Googled: if you forgot the password for a hard disk drive, is there a way to read the files anyway without a password
How to unlock hard drive forgot password?

Download Ultimate Boot CD.
Burn it into a Disc and boot it up. ( ...
On main menu, choose “HDD” > “Diagnostic” > “MHDD v4.6”
You will see a list of harddisk, select a harddisk you want to unlock.
Type “unlock” and reply “1” for master password.
Enter the master password.

Worth trying, since it's basically a free program.

Let us know if the program works.
And maybe send us copies of the best photos/videos you have unlocked, so we can judge if they are worth keeping.

I bought an external Seagate HDD, 4TB, from Costco a few months ago. Low price, less than $100.

When I copied files for backup from my Lenovo Thinkpad laptop, the external HDD would fail to copy all the files. It would miss or drop a lot of files.
This happened every time I tried to copy some large folders.

So I returned the Seagate HDD to Costco for a refund.

That was the only new external HDD I ever had problems with.

Most hard drives I've used (Seagate, Western Digital), gave me years of service without problems.

But you always read that you're supposed to make back-up copies of your important files, because any hard drive can fail. And I guess that applies to SSD as well.

So, as a precaution, if you buy a HDD or SSD, copy some large folders, and see:
-Do the copied folders match the original folders;
-How long does the copy process take.

Nothing in the inbox, nothing in the spam box from you.

I don't know if you tried sending me your email address, or if the PU email system failed.

So I created a new email address for you to use to send me your email address.

My new email address is:

Please send me your email address, or just tell me you're not interested in my offer to send you British pounds in exchange for a US Amazon gift card code.

Whatever, is fine with me.

The New York Times
Chadwick Boseman, Star of ‘Black Panther,’ Dies at 43
Michael Levenson 2 hrs ago

Chadwick Boseman, the actor who found fame as the star of “Black Panther” and who also portrayed pathbreaking Black figures such as Jackie Robinson, James Brown and Thurgood Marshall, died on Friday.

He was 43, his publicist, Nicki Fioravante, told The Associated Press. A statement posted on Mr. Boseman’s Instagram account said the actor had been diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer in 2016, which had progressed to Stage IV. It said he died in his home, with his wife and family by his side.

“It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman,” the statement said.

“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much,” the statement said. “From ‘Marshall’ to ‘Da 5 Bloods,’ August Wilson’s ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’ and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.”

Mr. Boseman was best known for his role as T’Challa, or the Black Panther, king of the fictional African nation of Wakanda in the 2018 Marvel superhero movie “Black Panther.”

The film was a cultural touchstone — the first major superhero movie with an African protagonist; the first to star a majority Black cast; and in Ryan Coogler, the first to employ a Black writer and director.

The film represented a moment of hope and pride for African-American moviegoers, many of whom planned special outings to see the film and came dressed in African-inspired clothing and accessories.

Wakanda was powered by a mystery metal, vibranium, and had evaded the historical traumas endured by much of the rest of Africa, freeing it from the ravages of both colonialism and postcolonialism.

The statement on Mr. Boseman’s Instagram account said it was “the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in ‘Black Panther.’”

Mr. Boseman also portrayed the baseball icon Jackie Robinson in “42,” in 2013, the soul singer James Brown in “Get On Up,” in 2014, and the Supreme Court justice Thurgood Marshall in “Marshall,” in 2017.

Mr. Boseman was born and raised in Anderson, S.C., the youngest of three boys. His mother, Carolyn, was a nurse and hs father, Leroy, worked for an agricultural conglomerate and had a side business as an upholsterer.

“I saw him work a lot of third shifts, a lot of night shifts,” Mr. Boseman told The New York Times last year. “Whenever I work a particularly hard week, I think of him.”

I'm willing to send you the value of your Amazon gift card in British pounds if you send me the US Amazon gift card number through the PU private email system.

I can send the money in British pounds through whatever service I can find that is the cheapest.
Or, maybe, I can find out how to send you a British Amazon gift card equivalent.
(There's supposed to be a way to send British Amazon gift cards from the US, but I'd have to check into how to do it, and how to fund it.)

Just a suggestion.
I've been a member of the PU site for almost 12 years.

As a safeguard, for what it's worth, if you send the gift card code, and don't receive the approximate value in British pounds, you can send emails or post at the PU site that I haven't sent you the British money you paid for. Or you can request that the money be taken out of whatever future winnings I might receive, if I do get any win from the PU raffle.

Just a suggestion. And an offer to help a fellow PU member.

But send it through the PU private email system.
Posting the US Amazon gift code publicly would be foolish, of course.

However, I've found that the PU private email system can be buggy.
tangub sent me an email through the PU private email system, and I never got it.
I sent tangub an email through the PU private email system, and he never got it.
exotics4me sent me an email through the PU private email system, and I did get it.
I asked yujin - PU Staff for tangub's email address, in a PU private email, and yujin never responded.

So for me, at least, the PU private email system can be hit or miss, at times.

Romance is dead. Krystal and Chris are getting a divorce.

However, there are wonderful take-aways to be learned:
"I believe that there can be beauty inside of pain when we have the courage to look within with compassion and a willingness to grow.We all deserve to live a beautiful life we love... and sometimes we realize it’s time to let go and LET GOD. 🙏."
(The Folded Hands symbol is variously used as a gesture of prayer [religious or secular], thanks, request, and greeting as well to express such sentiments as hope, praise, gratitude, reverence, and respect.)

One thing you do have to respect: they have great speechwriters, who can make shit smell like perfume.
Maybe Biden or Trump can hire these speechwriters.

'BiP' star Krystal Nielson confirms she and Chris Randone are divorcing 6 months after separation

ET Online
Jennifer Drysdale‍
Aug 25th 2020 11:30AM

Krystal Nielson and Chris Randone are going their separate ways for good. The Bachelor in Paradise stars are moving forward with their divorce, Nielson recently revealed on Instagram, six months after the pair announced their separation.

"The past 8 months have not been easy... I’ve been torn between mourning a life that could’ve been… and determined to fight for the future that I know I deserve," she wrote.

"With respect and support for one another, Chris and I have decided to move forward with filing for divorce," Nielson said. "We are grateful for the events that brought us to find one another, as we have been great teachers on our journey of personal discovery and growth."

The reality star continued, "I believe that there can be beauty inside of pain when we have the courage to look within with compassion and a willingness to grow.We all deserve to live a beautiful life we love... and sometimes we realize it’s time to let go and LET GOD. 🙏."

"Thank you for the well wishes and continued support," Nielson concluded. "It means the world. ❤️✨."
AdChoices

Nielson, who appeared on Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s season of The Bachelor in 2018, and Randone, who competed for Becca Kufrin's heart on The Bachelorette the same year, both entered Bachelor in Paradise in 2018 as villains from their respective seasons. They got engaged on that season of BiP, and got married in June 2019 in Mexico.

On Feb. 15, Nielson and Randone revealed they were separating.

"It hurts to announce that at this moment, we have mutually decided to separate. Never did we imagine this scenario, but we’ve come to a point where we both need to work on ourselves," the pair told Bachelor Nation in a statement at the time. "We are best friends that love and care for each other so deeply. We’ve appreciated everyone’s love and support so far throughout our journey and we just ask that you please respect our privacy as we navigate through this."

Are Piper Perri and Anastasia Knight related in real life?
They look similar to each other.
And they both have braces.
But is that enough proof that they are related?

There was a news article that Piper Perri's boyfriend was arrested and charged with killing her 2-year-old son in 2016.

Some porn stars have a lot of misery in their lives.

Since the PU site has disabled some features, why not eliminate them from the home page and make the home page feature more prominently the factors that are updating:

The "All-Time Ranks" section:
Top Rated and Most Active are currently disabled.
By that, I mean: the Top Rated shows: "There are currently no Top Rated sites".
Also, the Most Active shows: "There are currently no Active sites".

So eliminate those colums/heading, to clean the home page from useless garbage.

Also, the Top Users heading:
Top Users-Most Points and Last 7 days.
Since points have been dropped, or reset to zero for everyone, those headings don't have a lot of meaning.

So eliminate the point ratings for Top Users and Last 7 Days, since there are no points ratings, for top users and for the last 7 days.

Maybe the PU staff or PU members can come up with new headings that are useful.

But the old system of showing points, that are no longer given or used, just shows that the PU site needs a site update.

Any comments by the PU staff and PU members on this topic would be helpful in making the PU homepage more responsive and effective.

Rabbits Reviews turned 17 this month.
And the site has some special membership discounts for porn deals.
But it would be easier to see them listed at the PU site, since that's the site I visit much more often.

I remember a few years ago, there was a story that some retired porn star had died.
Turned out it was a hoax, by the owner of the porn star's site.
He had a few other sites he ran.
He was using the hoax as a publicity stunt.
When it was revealed the death story was a hoax, the porn site owner said it was just a joke.

So you have people in the porn industry, and outside of it, that can be ugly, to put it mildly.

A lot of sad, ugly people in the world, who love to spread hate.

Like you say, RA, RIP.

My congrats on the win, also, Sir.
And to the other winners, as well.

Note: May be inappropriate for young children.

Porn stars can have a rough life.
But it helps if they can get the proper training when starting out.

Here is a young porn star (very young, so take care when watching) who is getting her first lessons in how to vocalize her orgasms.

Note: She is a natural at this: she sounds like the real deal, when she opens her mouth to express her emotions.

Note: You have to click through the ad to get to the video. Edited on Aug 16, 2020, 08:44pm

In case you missed it, Tom D posted the results of the August 12 raffle in the Announcements section, which most PU members miss.

So here's what Tom D posted:

Congrats to Wraith0711, our $500 Amazon giftcard winner!

Congrats to Alybator, our $50 Amazon giftcard winner!

Congrats to UMBA8, our $25 Amazon giftcard winner!

RA, a question on your download speeds.
Were you getting 480-560 Mbps download speeds?
(Capital B is 8 times the size of small b in MBps versus Mbps)

I'm paying $65/month for a 200 Mbps connection, which is 25 MB/s, from Spectrum.

Are the prices in Canada so much cheaper?

I'm not PU staff.
But the implied rules seem clear:
Don't post any porn discount sites that are competing with PU (and the PU sister sites).

Or any links to special offers to join other porn sites at discounted prices.

Sorry, but it's not good business for the PU site.

However, you can post or mention special discounts to porn sites that can be accessed through PU, RabbitsReviews, or TBP.

My guess is that if you disable your account, you can re-activate it without a problem.

I know several PU members have done that in the past.

However, the PU site software is getting more errors as time goes by.

So re-activating might be a problem one day. Or not.

A few PU staff members have openly written that it's very difficult to change the site software, to fix or change any problems. I don't know what computer language the PU site software was written in, but it must be an older language, and is not easily changed to fix problems, or to add new features.

Freddie complained that she couldn't get an avatar (an icon) for herself at the PU site (Freddie was PU staff).

Tom D (current PU staff) has stated he was frustrated with the old rules for the raffle, that could not be changed to reflect the new rules.
