The article, "Dirty Talk For Blind People", writes about an erotic audio site that markets itself to visually-impaired people.

Lud Romano, who runs the business, tries to improve upon the "bored housewife meets young pool cleaner" type plot and to aim for something that will appeal to more sophisticated tastes.

For those who worry about the exploitative nature of pornography, it might be reassuring to know that Mr Romano's actors keep their clothes on. Since the intended audience is visually impaired (including the blind), the audience doesn't realize the actors might be fully clothed.

But as a critic, I wonder if this is a type of false advertising. The actors are pretending to engage in sex for enjoyment (a form of porn, I believe), and yet they are faking it, because they keep their clothes on. For realism, shouldn't the actors be required to do the real thing, just like most porn actors do in most video clips?

False porn leaves a dirty taste in my mouth (and my hand). As men (and women), we should demand the real thing, not some fakey low-fat substitute.

Colm4, normally your English is quite good, better than a lot of native English speaking people on this web. But when you write that people on welfare in Holland were given money "to pay specifically for prostitutes", you are stating the money was intended to pay for prostitutes. Are you sure that's what you meant? What seems more likely is that the money was given to people on welfare, and those people used it to pay for prostitutes, which would be a different matter.

I don't know Holland very well. Is it likely people on welfare were given money so they could afford to pay for prostitutes? Is that what really happened?

Or is it that some of the people on welfare used part of the welfare money to pay for prostitutes, which is a different matter.

In the United States, people on welfare were given food stamps, which they used to buy cigarettes and liquor at grocery stores. I believe there was public uproar about that, and I think that ability to use food stamps to pay for cigarettes and liquor was stopped. Food stamps are a form of money that can be exchanged for food at grocery stores.

That's my impression of what happened with food stamps. But I don't really know the details.

messmer, who is that in your avatar? The photo quality of these avatars could really be improved. Is that Angelina Jolie or some porn actress? Angelina Jolie could make a great porn clip just by walking across a room. She has a body to die for. :)

Ukraine bans Baron Cohen's 'Bruno' film as immoral
July 15, 2009, 10:53 AM EST

KIEV, Ukraine (AP) -- Ukraine's Culture Ministry says it has banned Sacha Baron Cohen's new hit movie, "Bruno," because it's immoral.

The movie is centered around the adventures of a flamboyant gay fashion journalist from Austria.

Megan Fox, the hottie from the Transformers movies, stars in Jennifer's Body (2009), to be released 18 September 2009 (USA). A newly possessed cheerleader (Megan Fox) turns into a killer who specializes in offing her male classmates. Can her best friend put an end to the horror? Stars two great looking female leads, Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried (the female lead of last year's Mamma Mia). Rated R for sexuality, bloody violence, language and brief drug use. This is one movie I wouldn't mind seeing rated XXX, because both girls are lovely, but I doubt we'll be seeing much naked flesh from either one of them, because they are both rising stars, so why would they do nudity? It's not like they are porn stars.

In addition to the words of warning:
"Be careful where you point that thing";
"It could go off at any second";
You should add the important:
"Be careful where you stick that thing".
Also, a word to the wise:
"Better safe than sorry (A bit of protection is always nice)".
STD is not a joke.

According to wikipedia. Grigori Galitsin and his wife, who modeled for him under the name "Valentina", were both released from prison in early 2009. However, Grigori Galitsin could be convicted on other charges with up to 8 more years of prison. I don't know the details of what he was convicted of, or what he actually did that was criminal beyond being a photographer of erotic/pornographic photographs and videos. The wikipedia article says he was accused of coercion (through blackmail) to commit a sexual act, and creating pornographic images of minors. But my impression is that the law can throw the book at you because you are a pornographer. He certainly used young-looking models, but I don't know what the legal rules on nudity are in Russia or Europe. David Hamilton used very young-looking models, and I never read of him being put in jail for pornography.

I saw Flash Gordon serials (as a child), and thought they were great, exciting serials. I seem to remember Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon.
I saw them on DVD a couple of years ago, and couldn't believe how clunky they were.
As a young child, I guess I could watch almost anything, and think it was wild, exciting, tremendous. Especially if it was science fiction. Edited on Jun 30, 2009, 10:13pm

My brain shut down a few years ago, and never got re-started.

So my first two submissions are easy ones. Since Wittyguy is presenting a sample that he is not taking credit for, I will claim whatever credit there is.

Along the same lines, I will also take credit for Drooler's example.

Those two submissions obviously put me in the front lines of this contest, because their creators (but not the copyright holder, which is me) have working brain pods.

What kind of award do I get for winning this contest?

Money talks. If mindless crap is what sells, then that's what people are going to make.
I might not like what sells, you (PU members) might not like what sells, but the American public (teenagers, people in their 20s, 30s, those folks in their 40s if not in the cemetery yet) is the target audience.
Movies with a plot or intelligence might be considered a movie niche, sort of like trannys is a porn niche.
I am looking forward to Inglourious Basterds by Quentin Tarantino, which should be a good popcorn flic.

I understand that personal taste (for porn and food and other factors) can and does vary from person to person.

What can still surprise me, at least a little, is how different two people can feel or think about the same item/event/whatever.

In the news item below, it was reported that Usher, the R&B star, said he was separated from his wife since July 2008, and that he was filing for divorce.

In the same news item, it was reported that his wife was not aware of the separation, that they were "intimately together" less than a week before he started divorce proceedings.

Could a guy who is "intimately together" with his wife be thinking that in reality he is separated? Maybe he was just giving her a mercy fuck before he told her about the divorce, and that doesn't count as togetherness.

------------------------------------------
Usher's Wife Thought "Marriage Was Intact"
E! Online

Natalie Finn - 2 hrs 12 mins ago

Los Angeles (E! Online) - Tameka Raymond says she didn't see it coming.

Usher's soon to be ex-wife states in a new court filing that she and the R&B star have not been separated since July 2008 and, in fact, were "intimately together" less than a week before he started divorce proceedings.

She had "every reason to believe her marriage was intact," her attorney stated in documents filed Monday in Atlanta.

But since it wasn't, Tameka now wants to make sure that her estranged husband takes care of all of her legal fees pertaining to the split and continues to support his family financially, per the filing.

Usher filed for divorce June 12, checking off "irretrievably broken" as his reason to end the marriage and requesting joint custody of the couple's two sons.

The duo swapped vows in a private civil ceremony in August 2007 and brought family and friends into the mix with a more elaborate set of "I do's" the following month.

Usher's divorce petition states that they were on the rocks less than a year later.

I feel it is my sad duty to report that in addition to the death of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett, the entertainment world has had additional terrible losses: Jeff Goldblum, Harrison Ford, George Clooney, and Natalie Portman are among the list of stars reported deceased this past week. Perhaps the most terrible blow of all is that Britney Spears was declared deceased.

Jeff Goldblum, making a valiant comeback, responded to reports of his death by issuing the following statement:

"No one will miss Jeff Goldblum more than me," he said. "He was not only a friend and a mentor, but he was also, um, me. Jeff Goldblum's performances combined the muscularity of Brando, the pathos of Streep and the musky sensuality of a pride of baboons. One former conquest raved that sleeping with Jeff Goldblum was like 'being caught in a flesh storm with a 90 percent chance of satisfaction'. That's verbatim."

I truly respect Jeff Goldblum as an actor, and am not surprised that he was willing to return to give us this message of faith, hope, and self-love.

One article reporting on the presence of all those supposed deaths, along with the quote by Jeff Goldblum on his own death, is at:

I would like to see PU reviews by women, to see if the viewpoint is different and possibly more interesting because of the difference.

There are a few PU members that are women (at least 3 web mistresses that I recall, plus 1 regular female member). But I can't really remember any reviews by a female member (that I actually knew the reviewer was a female).

Some reviews are interesting to read, not just because of the technical or factual points covered, but because the writer adds details that might be colorful/humorous/insightful.

Wittyguy, regarding Teenmodels.com, the preview pages are really impressive, the photography looks great, a lot of great looking models, easy navigation for the preview, really nice balance of photosets and videos.

My personal taste, I don't like toys. But it sure looks like the developers spent a lot of time, money, effort and thought coming up with this site.

The webmaster, in a reply to Wittyguy's comment on the site, said that all site content is 100% exclusive (photos and videos).

The webmaster also stated the bonus SilverSinema content line, included with this site, is also 100% exclusive.

Edit 1: My "boatload of softish porn" is tiny compared to Drooler and Exotics. They are among the giants of PU porn experts. I am only a pygmy. Or maybe a midget. :) Edited on Jun 25, 2009, 04:36pm

OFF TOPIC (I can't seem to get my brain to stay on topic for more than a minute or two).

Johnny Depp has a reputation as an off-beat character. But a nice guy. Here's a case where he went kinda overboard in being nice to his waiter.

...................
Report: Johnny Depp Leaves $4K Tip For Chicago Waiter
by Access Hollywood June 24, 2009

CHICAGO, Ill. -- Johnny Depp has previously said that money isn't the key to happiness.

But during a visit to a Chicago restaurant, the star certainly brought joy to one unsuspecting waiter with a reported sizable tip.

Depp, his "Public Enemies" co-star Marion Cotillard, director Michael Mann, along with about a dozen other folks -- who were in Chicago last week for the premiere of their new gangster movie -- made a stop at Gibsons Steakhouse around 11:30 PM, according to the Chicago Sun Times.

Once the bill came around 2:30 AM -- totaling up to a reported $4,400 -- Depp made sure the man who waited on the group into the late hours was well compensated for his time, as Mohammaed A. Sekhani reportedly received a $4,000 tip from the star.

"He had visited our restaurant several times before while he was filming 'Public Enemies' and he promised me that he would return after the premiere," Sekhani told Radar Online.

According to the longtime Gibsons waiter, Depp and his friends ordered items including shrimp cocktails, Clams Casino, as well as a few expensive bottles of wine.

"He also ordered some $500 bottles of Italian wine and he was in good spirits throughout the evening chatting with Mr. Mann and Miss Cotillard," Sekhani added.

Generous tip aside, Sekhani said he always enjoys waiting on the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star each time he visits Gibsons.

"Because he had visited us before he calls me 'Mo' and I know exactly the way he likes to be treated. He may be one of the most famous actors in the world but he is a very 'humble guy' and a really cool dude," the waiter continued. "I have worked with a lot of stars like Sean Connery and Robert De Niro but Johnny Depp is my favorite He is a very soft spoken guy who is very charming and sweet -- when I wait for him he doesn't like to be too fussed over and is not in any way demanding."

When contacted by Access Hollywood, a rep for Depp was not immediately available for comment on the story.

I'm probably less of an expert than Denner. But my understanding of the "call home" feature is that if a Microsoft program has a runtime error and quits running, then it usually tries to "call home" on the internet and report that problem to Microsoft. Depending on your PC setup, you might or might not get a popup message on your screen asking for your permission to send a report of the runtime error to Microsoft. Supposedly no personal information is included in the error report.

Other software companies have a similar feature in some of their software programs.

I'm more into photos than videos or DVDs, but I'm curious why you deliberately separate video sites from DVD sites.

A DVD at a paysite is broken down into separate clips or scenes, instead of being shown/downloaded as a single commercial DVD. That lets the member choose which individual clips/segments of the DVD he wants to view.

I thought that DVD sites were considered video sites, because a DVD is usually a video, instead of a collection of photographic stills.

What are some examples of the video sites that you are referring to, that are not DVD movie sites?

My understanding of a (porn) DVD movie is a group of sex scenes. There is usually little or no plot. Just a lot of sex of whatever kind.

Are you referring to a different kind of (porn) DVD movie?

I don't know how many PU members (or the general public) know about alias email addresses. I never heard of them until I read one of the posts here at PU. My way of dealing with spam is simply trying to delete it unopened whenever I see any email that has an unknown sender or porn-like subject or spam-like subject. But I must admit that starting this last week, my spam email has almost doubled, and I have no real idea why.

You might watch some of the early Clint Eastwood westerns.
I saw "The Man With No Name" trilogy in the movie theaters when they were first released back in the 1960s, and thought they were great: great story, soundtrack, wonderful anti-hero (Clint Eastwood), wonderful villains, lots of bad guys getting killed. I've seen the series on DVDs, didn't have the same thrills as the original viewing, but still enjoyable to watch.
A Fistful of Dollars
For a Few Dollars More
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

The Godfather trilogy is even better than "The Man With No Name" series. Absolutely one of the best crime series ever made. Part 1 was fantastic. Part 2 was great. Hard to figure which was better, Part 1 or Part 2. Part 3 was not quite as good, but still so much better than the average blockbuster put out today. The series had violence, story, intelligence, cinematography, so much to try to watch and understand and enjoy.

There's already a forum on PU of great movies. Toadsith was supposed to post his 100 greatest movie choices, but I don't know if he ever got around to doing that. The thread was started by Wittyguy, and has a large number of movies that should appeal to people of different tastes.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen opens tomorrow, Wednesday, Jun 24.

I read a few days ago that Michael Bay, the director of Transformers Part 1 and Transformers Part 2 (Part 2 is the movie that is coming out tomorrow) made $80 million for Transformers Part 1. That is a nice chunk of change.

Let's hope that everyone here at PU goes to support Transformers Part 2, because I would hate to think that Michael Bay might not have enough money to order the special coffee late (or however you spell it) at McDonald's, if he chooses to visit such a place.

Actually, Transformers Part 2 is supposed to be a great special-effects movie, just like Part 1, with a not-so-great storyline, but that's what sells in today's movie theaters.

Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones used to scream about how he couldn't get "No Satisfaction", but that was back in the days before you were born.

The policeman appears to be talking about a different kind of satisfaction. Jagger was talking about sexual satisfaction. The copper (do they call them that in Australia?) was saying they were happy with the evidence seized, because it made a strong case all those criminal perverts in Australia were guilty of producing porn films for gain (profit or money). Evidently Australia believes in free love only, and sex for money is a no-no.

One problem with good intentions is that it gives the police and other people in authority the right to fuck you over legally. The police and other people are only trying to help society and keep it safe, which is how they have the right to put all these perverts in jail.

And if the laws of Australia only extended to the United States of America, then we could have a better, cleaner society with less porn cluttering the streets and homes and Internets of America.

Try to keep your expectations low when going in to see a movie. If you honestly think a movie will be great before you see it, or someone recommends this particular choice as being great or outstanding, it's human nature to be disappointed or let down. It's much better to be pleasantly surprised on the upside. That's what I try to do for myself, anyway.

I haven't seen "Let The Right One In" yet, but I read the book a month ago, and thought it was a good read.

If you like visually interesting/colorful films, you might like The Cell (2000) with Jennifer Lopez and The Fall (2006) with Lee Pace. Both films were directed by Tarsem Singh, who emphasizes color and visual images in his films. Sort of like Tim Burton or Guillermo del Toro, but not as strong in the story-line aspect.

Your English is no problem, it's better than the English of many American-born or English-born speakers.

Billing problems can be irritating. You seem to be doing everything the way it should be done.

You should have called or written your credit card company about the last charge you got for the membership you tried to cancel. If you call or write to them, they should give you a reverse credit. Because you were told that your membership had been cancelled, any charge for a membership was a billing mistake.

You are continuing to contact the paysite to cancel your membership, so, you should act as if any charges from that paysite are not proper or legal.

Your credit card company won't be happy if they have to reverse any charges to the paysite more than once.

If you are charged again, you need to cancel your current credit card, and have a replacement credit card issued to you (from the same credit card company). It's done all the time, usually for a lost or stolen credit card. But that's what you need to do if you get any more charges from the paysite that keeps billing you for a membership that you have canceled.

As far as you are concerned, your attitude should be that you have canceled your subscription because you performed all the necessary steps to cancel. And if the paysite/billing company tries to charge you for your past membership, they are in error.

OFF TOPIC again, but humorous factoid:

The English know how to pay a man's salary, unlike the Americans who will continue to pay a federal judge's salary that is serving a prison sentence.

Joe Cocker, the English rock singer, formed his first group, the Cavaliers, in 1960. For the group's first performance at a youth club, they were required to pay the price of admission before entering.

I wonder if they made a profit on that first gig? Lol.

Cybertoad, you say that you are 100% certain that your email address was compromised because you supplied that address to teendreams. Whether it was teendreams itself, people working at the site, or anonymous lurkers, it doesn't really matter: in a real sense, teendreams is at least partly responsible for the spam you are getting. So it does make sense to mention that in your site review, and deduct at least a few points from the site score because of the problems the spam has caused for you.

Spam is hard to avoid.
Lately I've been getting more than usual.
Don't know if there is a reason.
Maybe it's because as time goes by, I sign up for more paysites, and my email address gets onto more lists.
Or maybe it's just because "they" keep increasing the amounts of spam being sent out.
Sometimes, by mistake, I might open a spam email, but I try to delete my spam without opening any of it.

OFF TOPIC of good porn deals.

Lawyers are not above the law, but the law can treat lawyers in strange ways.

A U.S. District Judge, Samuel Kent, was convicted of lying to judicial investigators about his sexual assaults on two female employees. He is currently serving a 33-month sentence in a federal prison in Massachusetts.

Even though convicted and in prison, he is still receiving his $174,000 a year salary as a federal judge.

The House of Representatives has impeached Judge Kent. If Kent is convicted in the U.S. Senate, he will be forced to resign, and will no longer receive a salary as a federal judge.

But unless and until he is convicted in the U.S. Senate, even though he was convicted of a crime and is in prison, he is still entitled to his judicial salary.

How many jobs have that kind of security regarding salary?

Is this man entitled to wear his judicial robes while in prison, instead of wearing a normal prisoner's uniform?

He must participate in an alcohol-abuse program while in prison. He also was fined $1,000 and ordered to pay $6,550 in restitution to the secretary and case manager whose complaints resulted in the first sex abuse case ever against a sitting federal judge.

In my community, if you run a red light, the fine is $430. His fine was $1,000. Does that sound about right, when his annual salary is $174,000 a year?

The $1,000 fine sounds like he got a great deal. The 33-month sentence probably stings. But I wonder how much of that sentence he will have to serve, if he gets off early for good behavior/whatnot.

One problem with CCBill confirmations:
I used to get a confirmation email from CCBill whenever I signed up at a paysite. But recently the confirmation email seems to be hit-or-miss. I signed up with Femjoy a little over a month ago, thru CCBill, and never received a confirmation email from them. And a short while before that, I signed up with another paysite, and never received a confirmation email for that signup either. I did receive a fast and accurate confirmation email for my last signup, at devilsfilm, but that did not use CCBill, but famebill, instead.

Khan, I don't think you're crazy. The problem is that I'm blind. It's just something I have to live with.
Anyway, I'd rather look at the invisible man. That, at least, makes sense to me.

Yahoo lists the filming locations for Blood: The Last Vampire as Russia, China, and Argentina.
Imdb lists the filming locations for Blood: The Last Vampire as Hong Kong, Japan, France, Argentina.
Production is listed as Hong Kong.
Chris Nahon, the director, is listed as: Noted French commercial and music video director.
The actual production was supposed to have a lot of problems.
I saw a trailer for Blood that said the producer of Hero and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was involved in this film. Those two movies were major world-wide hits. I would be amazed if this film had anywhere near the success of those two hits. From the previews I saw, I would guess this is a relatively low-budget movie. Hero and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon were big budget movies (for China, not for U.S.). Edited on Jun 18, 2009, 03:00pm

Blood: The Last Vampire (2009)

Genres: Action/Adventure, Art/Foreign, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Suspense/Horror and Thriller
Running Time: 1 hr. 29 min.
Release Date: July 10th, 2009 (limited)
MPAA Rating: R for strong bloody stylized violence.
Distributors: Samuel Goldwyn Films

On the surface, Saya is a stunning 16-year old girl, but that youthful exterior hides the tormented soul of a 400 year-old "halfling." Born to a human father and a vampire mother, she has for centuries been a loner, obsessed with using her samurai skills to rid the world of vampires, all the while knowing that she herself can survive only on blood like those she hunts. When she is sent to an American military base in Tokyo by the clandestine organization for whom she works, Saya immediately senses that this may be her opportunity to finally destroy Onigen, the evil patriarch of all vampires. Using her superhuman strength and her sword, she begins to rid the base of its evil infestation in a series of spectacular and elaborate showdowns. However, it is not until she forms her first human friendship in centuries with the young daughter of the base's general that Saya learns her greatest power over Onigen may well be her ability to make a human connection...
...........................

Limited opening July 10, means it could have a very limited run in the U.S., opening in just a few U.S. cities. Might be here and gone before you can blink.

I have no idea how good this film will be. If you're into Japanese manga, you might want to take a look-see if it's anywhere near your neighborhood, or you might be better off renting Blood - The Last Vampire (2001), an animated version of the story. I saw Blood - The Last Vampire (2001), and did not think it was great, but many fans think that was a classic. Personal taste differs.

This lastest version is a live-action movie. The main star is the girl who became famous for My Sassy Girl (2001), a Korean love story that was a big hit in Korea. When the actress made My Sassy Girl, she was known as Ji-hyun Jun, but for Blood: The Last Vampire (2009) she's now listed as Gianna Jun (I guess this is supposed to be easier for U.S. and world audiences to handle than her original Korean name).

If you don't know Gianna Jun, the chances are tiny you will know any actor in this film.

Drooler, thanks for the name of Lucy Stratilova used at Femjoy (Lucie).

Because a model can often have more than one name at the same site, and then completely different names at other sites, I've almost given up trying to track the names of models. That makes it kind of hard to find their photos when I want to look at them. Especially with my memory going down the drain as I get older.

I'm really waiting for the generation of computers that will let me speak the name of a model and she will appear onscreen. Or better yet, in my bedroom. Hopefully, I will still be around at that time.

exotics4me, no apologies needed for your post/review of Teen Dreams/1byday. It was a great post, very informative, solid details, a great answer to Cybertoad's question on which of the two sites he might join.

I did not mean any sort of criticism. I am sorry if I was misunderstood. I was trying to give you a compliment for a great post.

I sometimes try to put a little humor in my posts/replies, and it doesn't work that well at times. But I'm still trying. :)

Off topic/side note:

Sometimes, even when you read that a person is dead, and the post is supposed to be factual, it turns out the person is not dead after all.

This is a post I made 12-18-08 09:35am on the thread: Porn Users Forum Goodbye to your favorite
https://www.pornusers.com/forum/forum_use...l?id=5722&page=3

"Just because a few people post that Liana Shevchenko is dead, does [not] give me hard evidence she is dead.

I saw a couple of youtube videos with a title that Liana was dead. Means very little as far as proof is concerned.

I saw the blogs you posted:
http://lianashevchenko.wordpress.com/

http://ukraine-girl.blogspot.com/

http://technorati.com/videos/tag/models+rip

The first blog (URL) above says she is dead, but gives no details.

The second blog (URL) above does not say she is dead, just has a link to some photos of her.

The third blog (URL) has links to dead models, but I don't see Liana Shevchenko listed.

For proof of death, I would like to see either a newspaper article quoted, where I can check the article itself for details, or a magazine article, where I could again check the article itself.

Some unknown person posting that Liana Shevchenko has died has very little basis for proof.

Below are listed true cases where people were reported dead, long before they actually died:

ABE VIGODA often looked dead on the 1970s sitcom Barney Miller, where he played the gloomy and rumpled Detective Sgt. Phil Fish. In 1992 People magazine reported that Vigoda was dead, and by 2001 Vigoda's presumed demise had become such a pop culture joke that even the New York Times mentioned it in a story on his 80th birthday. In 1999 Vigoda almost made the rumors come true: he was a passenger on an American Airlines flight that lost pressure at 31,000 feet. The plane made an emergency landing and everyone (including Vigoda) survived.

ALEXANDER THE GREAT was still new at the king business in 335 B.C. When the citizens of Thebes heard a rumor that he had died, they revolted against Macedonian rule. Bad move: within a fortnight Alexander and his army marched south and sacked the city. Alexander really did die in 323 B.C.E., under mysterious circumstances.

While living in Europe in 1897, American writer MARK TWAIN discovered that at least one U. S. newspaper had reported his death. Somehow information in a letter about one of Twain's dying relatives got twisted around, the paper reported Twain dead and eventually word reached the author across the Atlantic. Twain drily wrote to a friend, "The report of my death was an exaggeration." (He is also said to have told a reporter for the Evening Sun newspaper that "Reports of my death are grossly exaggerated.") Twain died in 1910.

RICHARD DAWSON was a game show giant in the 1970s, first as a panelist on the goofy Match Game and then as host of TV's Family Feud. His career ground to a halt in the mid-1980s, and by the 1990s rumors were circulating that Dawson was dead. Possibly the rumor-mongers were thinking of Dawson's successor as host of Family Feud, Ray Combs, who really did commit suicide in 1996.

Like Richard Dawson, SCOTT BAIO's career went from hot to not: a teen heartthrob in the 1970s for his role as Chachi in the popular TV series Happy Days, Baio hopped through four other TV series through the 1980s and into the '90s, but as the years went by he was less frequently seen on the home screen. Maybe that's why in 1997 a rumor spread on the Internet that Baio had died. Baio reportedly resorted to leaving a cheery message on his answering machine announcing that he wasn't dead. "

The reports above, about the death of real people, all turned out to be false.

Dead or alive?

Getting reliable information on porn stars, sometimes even basic information on whether they are dead or alive, can sometimes be a real pain or just beyond the possible. On the "Goodbye to your favorite" thread/forum,

https://www.pornusers.com/forum/forum_use...l?id=5722&page=3

I wrote in post #19, 12-19-08 10:00am :

"Liana Shevchenko only modeled porn for about 2 years. She was not a superstar, just a very good-looking young girl. That's why it's not easy finding current information about her on the Internet.
If you do google searches about much more popular people in the entertainment industry, trying to find information about their current activities, you often come up with little or no current information, unless they are superstars or very popular.

So solid proof that she is alive or dead might be difficult or almost impossible to find."

Liana was a young nude model (not really a porn star) who appeared on 8teenies.com, teenstarsmagazine.com and perfect10.com. There were a couple of videos posted of her where the title included "R.I.P.", indicating she was dead. And there were one or more brief posts on the internet stating she had died. But there was no reliable source for the statement she was dead. She would have been in her 20s at the time of her death, if it were true.

I argued in the thread that there was no reliable way of checking if she was dead or not. Just because one or more people post that someone is dead, is very little to no proof.

I wrote post #18 on that thread:
"On youtube, I currently see 2 videos with Liana Shevchenko.
I did not say the videos were fake. The videos are poor copies that were probably taken from the 8teenies site, where she was named Melissa. The videos are real.

I just don't believe the girl is dead based on the fact the poster titles the videos with RIP.

I need a bit more proof.

Maybe that's my hang-up.

I've heard that youtube has removed videos because of copyright concerns.

I've never heard that youtube bothers to check the factual accuracy of a RIP titled video of a former pornstar.

Cheers."

From a wikipedia article on pornography:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pornographic_film

The global pornographic film industry is dominated by the United States, with the San Fernando Valley area outside Los Angeles, California being the heart of the industry.[18] This being the case, most figures on the size of the industry refer solely to the U.S.

Attempts were made in the 1970s to outlaw pornography in the United States by prosecuting porn stars for prostitution. The courts in California were where the case was initially made, and stopped short of advancing the case to the United States Supreme Court for a final decision. It was this decision and acceptance to let stand whereby the California Court made a legal distinction in the case of People v. Freeman between someone who took part in a sexual relationship for money (prostitution) versus someone who takes on the act of merely portraying role where a sexual relationship was engaged in on-screen act as part of their acting performance. It is this specific legal distinction between pornography and prostitution in California law that has allowed California to become the porn center of the United States.

In the 1980s, an outbreak of HIV led to a number of deaths of erotic actors and actresses, including John Holmes, Wade Nichols, Marc Stevens, Al Parker and Lisa De Leeuw. This led to the creation of the Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation, which helped set up a system in the U.S. adult film industry where erotic actors are tested for HIV every 30 days. All sexual contact is logged, and positive test results lead to all sexual contacts for the last three to six months being contacted and re-tested. The use of condoms became standard in films featuring homosexual anal sex. Thanks to accurate and mandatory medical tests HIV cases are nowdays extremely rare in the pornographic industry.

The system seemed to be effective, with very few AIDS cases among porn actors. Marc Wallice, a known IV drug user, tested HIV positive in 1998, sending shockwaves throughout the industry.

In April 2004, an AIDS scare rocked the heterosexual US porn industry when two pornographic actors tested HIV positive in California, the hotbed of U.S. porn production. The straight segment of the porn industry voluntarily shut down for 30 days (a 60 day moratorium was originally announced but it was lifted early) while it tried to deal with the situation.

Three actors, Darren James, Jenny Gaynor and Lara Roxx, initially tested positive, and were barred from further sexually explicit content production. About sixty actors who had contact with James or Roxx were barred from working until their next round of HIV testing was completed and they were declared HIV negative.A further estimated 130 actors who had contact with Gaynor were tested and also received a HIV negative result. A total of five actors were diagnosed with the virus by the end of the moratorium: one male and four females, including one transsexual.

James most likely contracted HIV while filming a pornographic movie in Brazil and then passed it to the other women, excluding the transsexual, who was considered an unrelated case. Roxx was shocked by the news of her HIV status, believing porn actors to be cleaner than the general public. AIM Healthcare Foundation claims the rate of STD's in adult film actors in production companies that follow the AIM testing protocols is 80% less than that of the general public.

Due to this limited outbreak, the California State government considered regulating the industry. Some proposed to mandate the wearing of condoms during sexually explicit scenes. Industry insiders say this would ruin sales of their wares since the unprotected content is one of the selling points of some of their films. They say the wearing of condoms ruins the sexual fantasy of many viewers. Insiders say that such regulation would force the industry underground, out of California or overseas where it would be more prone to health risks for performers. The non-profit Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation is working with the government, trying to develop policies that both the industry and the government would find acceptable.

In June 2009, AIM Healthcare Foundation reported another adult entertainer had become HIV+-though it appeared likely this transmission occurred in her private life. LA County Public Health claimed that there had been 16 "unreported" HIV case in the adult film industry. AIM Healthcare Foundation claimed those cases did not involve actors in production companies that followed their testing protocols and included members of the general public that use AIM Healthcare testing services or were individual attempting to work in the porn industry who never were able to obtain employment in adult films because of their failure to prove freedom from HIV or other STD's.

So the story/link posted by exotics4me appears to be inaccurate:
http://mystateline.com/content/fulltext/?cid=74281

"Los Angeles County health officials tell the "Times" they are launching an investigation into the incident to make sure the adult film industry is complying with state rules that require porn stars to use condoms."

But the wikipedia article indicates there is no California state law requiring porn stars to use condoms.

Tom Cruise is on the list because there is a lagging effect with the salaries of movie stars. Tom Cruise was, until Will Smith hit it big, the biggest star around, with the highest box office grosses. So for years after Tom Cruise peaked, he is still be able to command a high salary.

The death of porn? If movies are cleaning up their act regarding swear words, will the porn world see a similar reform, where two people will only be allowed to hold hands, with maybe a platonic kiss for the climax?

Note: the blog below is undated, which is an example of shoddy blogsmanship. How can we assess the relevance of news and blogs unless the idiots date their reports?

I also like to see photo sets and videos dated when they are posted on porn sites. That gives me a better idea on whether the site is being updated, how often the updates appear, and makes it easier to navigate the site contents.

Holy $%(*!: There's Less Swearing in Teen Movies

By Martha Brockenbrough
MSN Cinemama

Learn more about kids' entertainment on MSN's Mom & Pop Culture

This might come as a blow to people who subscribe to the hell-in-a-hand-basket theory of American pop culture, but teens today are exposed to far less cursing in their movies than teens in previous generations.

Gosh! Shut the front door!

Surprising, yes. But it's true. A trio of researchers in Brigham Young University's communications department studied the top G-, PG and PG-13 rated movies from the 1980s to the present day and reported their findings in The Journal of Children and Media. There's been a big drop in swearing from the 1980s teen movies to today.

It's especially surprising because dirty words on TV and in music are on the rise.

"When you consider that profanity is increasing on television, especially during the 9-10 p.m. hour," co-author Mark Callister said, "you often expect to find similar trends in other media."

But not for the big screen, apparently.

The authors found that in the 1980s, movies in this ratings cluster averaged 35 blue words per movie. That dropped to 25 per movie in the 1990s. In the new millennium, we're averaging 16 naughty words a film. In all, the 30 1980s movies they studied had 1,068 dirty words, compared with 758 in the 1990s and 485 in the 2000s (though theoretically, a few really foul-mouthed movies could bring the average up again -- the 2000s aren't quite over yet).

Perhaps unsurprisingly, male characters uttered almost three-quarters of the naughty words (and teen males most of all).

Some funny examples: "Weird Science," from the 1980s, had 80 instances of profanity in it. "A Cinderella Story," from 2004, had a mere two, and they were mild. (It stars Hilary Duff, whose last name does not count as a profanity, in case you were wondering.)

The study's authors said they didn't know why swearing is on the decline. A separate study that came out in 2008, though, said movies with less swearing in them made more money; that would seem like the No. 1 compelling reason for producers to cut back on the cursing.

In any case, if you're worried about the language your kids are hearing, send them to the movie theater. Who knew it was so darned wholesome in there?

Martha Brockenbrough is author of "Things That Make Us [Sic]," a guide to funny bad grammar, published by St. Martin's press. She also blogs about family life for Cozi.com and writes an educational humor column for Encarta.

Dear Wittyguy,

I have been fascinated by one of your avatars for a long time. I know you explained what it is, and I appreciate it. But there is something lacking when I try to visualize the man's position: I just can't picture the man's head.

With your permission, I would like to suggest a poll for the PU readers, asking what they think the man in your avatar is trying to do. Better yet, you could suggest the poll to PU staff.

Possible choices for poll answers would be:
1. Man considering outcome of the last Presidential election.
2. Man assuming the pre-intercourse position for the flying fu** maneuver.
3. Man contemplating the inner workings of bodily functions.
4. Man with head up his ass.

(What I'm really curious about is how many people looking at the avatar realize what it's supposed to represent.)

I remember way back in my high school days, where you would see an image in a book, as a psychological test of the way the mind works, and you would see one kind of image at first, and then, if you study the image, there is a change, and you see a different kind of image. I forget what that was called.

But even though you explained to me what the avatar/image represents, I still have a hard time visualizing it. Is it just me? That's why I am curious what the other PU members see or understand visually when they look at your avatar.

What I see, basically, is the back of a man bending forward, with his hands clasped behind his back.
It is not clear, from the image, where the man's head is.

Is the location of the man's head supposed to be a leap of faith? Is that the point I am missing?

Because Wittyguy appears to have a legal background, and he is the one who brought up necrophiliacs, we should post the following warning, just to be on the safe side:

Not for amateurs. Please don't try this at home, unless there is expert supervision available.

From the internet encyclopedia wikipedia article on Necrophilia in popular culture:

"Takashi Miike's film Visitor Q contains a scene where a man rapes and accidentally kills a woman, and then decides to have sex with her before chopping her body into pieces. While having sex, the body goes into rigor mortis and his penis gets stuck."

My memory is fading, but I remember years ago (back in the 1960s or thereabout) reading some science fiction stories where the ultimate kick was being joined to a high-level computer, or getting a computer-assisted memory upgrade, where your own brain was somehow computerized, or computer-assisted. This was in the days of the mainframe, before minicomputers or personal computers.

That's what comes to mind when I think of badandy400 and his terabytes of storage. It's not quite the same thing, because this was not just additional memory space, but upgraded thinking as well. But in some stories, connection to the computer was like a drug high.

Then again, badandy400 might get high thinking of his terabytes of porn.

(Forbes Magazine listing)

Hollywood's 10 Top-Earning Actors

1. Harrison Ford
2. Adam Sandler
3. Will Smith
4. Eddie Murphy
5. Nicolas Cage
6. Tom Hanks
7. Tom Cruise
8. Jim Carrey
9. Brad Pitt
10. Will Ferrell

To figure out earnings, we (Forbes Magazine) talked to agents, managers, producers and lawyers to determine what the stars earned as upfront pay on movies they are currently shooting, as well as backend pay earned after a movie hit the theaters. We also looked at any money actors might have earned from doing ads for things like beer, banks and coffee.

Since 2000, Ford has appeared in only four movies, none of which made much of an impression at the box office.

That all changed in 2008 when Ford strapped back on his trusty whip and went adventuring again in "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," the fourth film in the Indiana Jones series. In order to lure Ford out of his semi-retirement, Paramount agreed to a lucrative deal that split almost all of the film's earnings (after the studio made back its production and advertising costs) between Ford, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.

As a result of the deal, Ford earned $65 million between June 2008 and June 2009, making him the highest-paid actor on our annual Celebrity 100 list.

Coming in behind Ford with $55 million is Adam Sandler. The funnyman had two successful movies last year, "You Don't Mess With The Zohan" and "Bedtime Stories," plus he earned a big paycheck for the upcoming Judd Apatow movie "Funny People," in which he plays a comedian who thinks he might be dying.

In third is Will Smith, often considered in Hollywood to be the one person who can open any movie in the U.S. and abroad. Critics lambasted his two latest movies, "Hancock" and "Seven Pounds," but they were both still hits -- earning $800 million between them.

Eddie Murphy lands in fourth place on our list despite his disastrous film "Meet Dave." The movie, which was made for an estimated $60 million, earned only $50 million at the worldwide box office.

Rounding out the top five is Nicolas Cage. The tireless worker doesn't earn the same size paychecks as people like Smith and Sandler, but he currently has six movies scheduled to hit theaters in the next two years, including "G-Force," about some very smart hamsters, and a live-action version of "The Sorcerer's Apprentice."

Conspicuously low on the list (10th place) is Johnny Depp, who last year ranked second with $72 million. This year he earned $27 million. The reason: no pirate movie. Depp is almost always well paid, but he earns a nice chunk of the profits of the Disney series "Pirates of the Caribbean," which have earned a collective $2.6 billion at the worldwide box office.

Coming in at the bottom of our top 20 is Will Ferrell. The former "Saturday Night Live" star has seen a steady decline in box office revenue for his comedies. Things hit bottom this weekend when his remake of the TV show "Land of the Lost" earned just $18 million at the box office.
