And not just because I'd worry that it could create an anti-porn backlash but also we live in a culture where it is pretty obvious that there is a disconnect between what people say and what people do on this issue. So for me, that means two things: 1) the politician is so stupid that he or she doesn't realize that people who say they are anti-porn probably actually don't mind it, and 2) the politician himself (most likely a man in this case) is a hypocrite because he dabbles in porn himself. Look at the anti-gay politicians and religious leaders who eventually get outed.
And I always get a hoot out of the argument that the porn industry is actually smaller and less important than it really is. Yes, it really is just us sickos here at PU driving the whole inductry and we each spend $100 million a year on our habits. It certainly isn't 100 million people spending $100 each per year...
And for the first time in my lifetime, here in Canada we have a right-wing federal government that is more hard-line pro-religious than in the U.S.
I rejoin VideoBox and American Vice about every 6 to 8 months and download like a mad bastard. I've rejoined several Kink sites (The Training of O, specifically) several times. I'm with Jag G on this - while I'm always on the lookout for a good new site, I keep coming back to the old ones for the updates.
Sure there are other review sites out there, but nothing like TPB and PU. I rely on both before I make a decision to shell out for a site. The information gathered on both can be different and be very reliable. The ability to post a question on PU and get a reasoned answer makes it an amazing site. The people behind TPB and PU are providing a great service and I hope they're getting rich beyond their wildest dreams doing it. And let's face it, being able to communicate with other porn-addicted perverts makes each of us feel almost... normal!
Maybe I've mis-read the question, but I've read it in the context that made sense to me. Some of you read it as asking what would happen if your favorite starlet changed somehow and continued making scenes. I've read it as what would happen if a favorite left the business. For me, to put it in context, all I need to do is think about two of my favorite all time performers, Tammi Ann and Inari Vachs. Nothing except my own death will stop me from watching their scenes. Now if one or both ever came out of retirement and started working, I'm not sure that I'd be so much into their new work. But in their prime, those two lasses pretty much peg the perfect meter for me.
And I should also say that I first thought (and maybe still do a bit) that this is the creepiest poll topic I've seen since joining PU, but the debate and discussion that it's generated has been great.

One problem with this whole issue is definition. Call me a literalist, but it seems to me that child pornography should involve, at a minimum, a “child” and “pornography.” And, of course, our whole culture agrees on what those terms mean, right?
People mature at different rates. So I think the only logical, workable solution is to pick an age and declare that to be the “age of consent.” 18 seems to be a good compromise.
So the problem is how do we define a child? Obviously the onset of puberty could be a measure, but since that age has been falling over the past hundred years that is no longer a good measure. There needs to be some recognition of maturity too. But how do you capture that in law? I don’t think you can. So we stick with a somewhat arbitrary but reasonable age.
My biggest concern about this is where we’re heading as a society: we seem to lack any ability to put things on a sliding scale of severity. On this scale, some pot you grew in your back yard is treated no differently from the hardest drug for sale on the street. In our example, a picture of a topless 17 year old on a beach is treated the same as horrific photos of a toddler being raped. The biggest problem with this is that when the soccer moms (of both genders) demand that the minor stuff be lumped in with the most heinous of crimes then the cops will naturally go after the easier stuff. That’ll take needed resources away from the true crimes.
For me, at a certain point it becomes the social requirement to regulate a natural desire. If you get turned on by a pre-pubescent child, then you are seriously ill. If you find yourself sneaking a glance at the neighbor’s 14 year old daughter who was well served by puberty with a womanly body you aren’t sick, but you need to exercise restraint because physical appearance can’t be the only measure. To bolster this point about natural desire and the need for restraint, consider the titles of so many porn flicks. (And I admit, this point may be wrong and simply reveal my own biases.) It seems to me that for every title that uses “MILF” or some word or phrase that would appeal to someone who likes 30+ women there are 20 titles that play on some word or phrase that denotes youth. Barely Legal, Just Turned 18, Barely 18, The Babysitter, 18 and Natural, 18 and Easy, Anal Teen Tryouts, Dream Teens, Eight Teen Tryouts, I’m so Young, Nasty Youngsters, Young and Anal… okay, you get the point. My point is that if we lowered the age of consent to 16, we’d see a bunch of movies titled “Just Turned 16,” “Barely 16,” etc. The point is that most of us have base urges to lust after womanly bodies, and if we shift the social restraints to a lower age then most of us would be okay with that.
I'm in the same boat as Drooler I think. Porn back when I was a teen wasn't like porn today. At least nothing that I had was like anything today. Mostly Playboy and Penthouse, which were pretty tame. And here's a historical fact for you young'uns: back in the day, women actually had pubic hair. Yes, I know you think I'm telling stories, but it's true. I'm not sure what happened. Maybe evolution took care of the pubic hair gene in women. I don't miss it.
Better or worse, I'm not sure. A lot more formulaic though. Gonzo was cutting edge back 10 to 15 years ago but the directors who developed it had some creativity. So many scenes now start in a frequently-used porn house with the girl in lingerie. There's no tease, no tension, and no build-up.
This isn't what will make me avoid a site, rather it is something that will make me more likely to join - it's a full look at the inside of the site so I can have a high level of comfort of what I'm getting. Sites like Videobox and American Vice do this. You could spend a day looking through every title that they have before you shell out the cash for downloads. Not only does this allow me to be sure that the site offers what they say it does, but I have confidence in the site because they have confidence to let me see inside. I'll still take a membership in a site that only has a few pages of 'previews' but only if TBP and PU folks tell me what's in there. I didn't do this a couple of weeks ago and got sort of burned. I got a membership to an exhibitionist site that only had a limited preview, limited info on TPB and no PU review. To my unpleasant surprise it had no videos, only pics. I wasn't fleeced because after I took out the membership I dug around again and did find reference to it being a pic only site, but a full look through it would have been better.
For some models I get everything that I can. Most of the models I do this with are 1990s stars and no longer in the business so getting everything is probably impossible. But I try...
I have eight Western Digital Passport drives. The oldest us probably five years old now. They aren't plugged in all the time, but I've had no problems with them at all. I like the passports because all they need is USB and not AC.
I’m not sure I agree with the comment that Penthouse may cross the line into porn. A couple of years ago, definitely it did. Penthouse had full penetration shots, so that clearly crossed the line into hardcore, and that is definitely porn. But today, I’m not sure. I bought a copy of the January 2009 issue yesterday (my first porn magazine buy in well over a year) and was really amazed by how much Penthouse has changed. Instead of chasing Hustler and the magazines at the hard end of the spectrum, Penthouse now seems to be chasing Playboy and maybe even Maxim. I was really disappointed. If I wanted softcore I’d wank to the Sears catalogue.
On a totally unrelated note, there was a pictorial of Teagan Presley in the Penthouse that I bought. I’m a big fan of her earlier work and to be honest I looked at the pictorial and didn’t recognize her until I read the print. Sure, she’s heavily airbrushed, but with her pumped-up front end she’s lost that girl-next-door look that I used to love about her. (I picked up a copy of the 1 Night is Paris DVD out of curiosity. I still have it only because one of the bonus scenes on the DVD is Teagan in Cum Drippers 6. She looks amazing there. Now, she has lost what I found appealing about her. )
I usually have two memberships on the go at any given time. I maintain a long-term membership to VideoBox and then usually look for something else of interest. Many times that additional site is something in the Kink.com network.
For me, all of the things in the list can cause me to not join a site but the biggest one by far that ALWAYS stop me from joining is DRM. DRM is a dinosaur. Sure, I can understand why some companies want to use them, but for those of us who don't abuse the rights of the owners it pisses me off that they think they can strip me of my rights as a purchaser.
Most of the other issues listed I can put up with if the site is something that I really want to see.

Up here in the frozen north called Canada, The Movie Network runs adult videos after hours which is pretty good, but like Pinche said about his satellite provider the cut off the money shot. If the site has some specialized niche I'd pay a decent price for it. If anyone ever makes a site with downloadable, no DRM porn from 1985 to 1995 I'd buy that. That's too new to be called 'classic' and too old for most mainstream users.
I look for two things before I ante up for a membership. The first is a decent TBP review and the second is a certificate of legal complaince so I know I'm not buying something illegal. But with TPB the second point is pretty much moot.
With TPB I've had more memberships than I normally would because I can subscribe with confidence.

Bottom Line:
I recently rejoined this site and hadn’t intended to write a new review since what I wrote almost four years ago is still mostly accurate. I was planning to just write an update as a comment and leave it at that. But as I started to write and did a deeper dive into the site it occurred to me that the fact that it really hasn’t changed much actually warrants a new review.
Back in 2015 when I first reviewed the site I had several criticisms of it with the main one being video quality. At the time the best video resolution available was 1280x720 with a relatively low bitrate of 3500kb/s. In the elapsed time between the 2015 review and now we’ve seen some big advances in video quality. I’m sure that many people see 1080p as the new standard and there are many sites that now offer everything in 4K. But not 18Eighteen… they seem to be stuck in a time warp since the best resolution that they now offer, four years after I said that what they had then was barely up to industry standard is, wait for it… 1280x720 with a bitrate of 3500kb/s. Keep in mind that this is the BEST resolution that they offer. The technical side of the site simply hasn’t kept up with the rest of the industry. In my last review I chuckled a bit that in 2015 this site was still offering each scene as a series of small clips for download. You know, for those of us still on dial up. I posed the question as to whether, in 2015, anyone still downloaded small clips. But guess what? Here we are in the waning days of 2019 and they STILL offer small clips. Maybe, just maybe, this site has the market cornered on people who still only have dial-up. Maybe there are some porn shops around that still rent VHS tapes too.
So here’s why I think this is important and why it merited a new deep dive: 18Eighteen is an AMAZING site for those of us who like this niche. If you’re looking for the freshest, tiniest teens on the ‘net this place has to be on your list. The models are a great mix of A-list pornstars, lesser known semi-pros (up-‘n-cummers?) and some relatively unknown Russian/Eastern European models. The site is, however, more skewed to American models.
While the models are all in the same category (young and petite) the site itself offers videos and photos in three broad classes: B/G, G/G and solo. So there might be something for everyone (with a caveat). There are currently 308 solo scenes, 373 B/G scenes and just 10 G/G scenes. This isn’t a big deal for me as I don’t usually collect G/G scenes but it seems to me that this is a niche that the site could be doing a much better job at serving.
The videos are available for download in the above-mentioned 720p as well as in 854x480 (1500) and 640x360 (800). They are also available in WMV at 640x360 (2500). I didn’t know WMV still existed. Streaming is an option too.
Two big advantages that this site has are that it is as much a draw for photo collectors as it is for video fans and, since the site grew out of a magazine that started in 1992 they have a fairly decent catalogue of photos. Currently there are 2646 photo sets. But, like the videos the resolution of even the new sets is low – it’s currently 2000x3000. Not bad, but not great either.
The site is definitely still updating though the schedule is a bit unpredictable. There are times when a new scene or photoset is uploaded every two days but then there are stretches with nothing for almost a week. But there are updates.
I had no issues using a download manager to queue scenes for download and I found that download speeds were up to par with what I get at other sites. Given the small size of the files (due to resolution and bitrate) I downloaded a lot in my first evening and didn’t hit a limit.
The bonus sites that were available last time (there were two of them) no longer seem to be bundled with the membership. My recollection of them, and the fact that I have kept nothing from them, tells me this isn’t a big loss.
My biggest takeaway from my current membership here is that it’s a squandered opportunity. This is a site that has some of the hottest offerings in one of the hottest segments in the porn business and their technology is letting them down. The models are stunning, the scenes are well shot and edited and the site layout is reasonably logical. But the site simply hasn’t kept up with the rest of the business in offering better resolutions. In my opinion, they’re selling themselves short.
So would I recommend this site? I would. If you like this niche then this is a site you have to visit even if you, like me, would prefer higher resolutions. With a TBP discount the site is still a good value but go in knowing you won’t see hot teens in glorious 1080p or 4K.
To reflect that the site hasn’t kept up I’ve dropped my score accordingly. It’s still a great site but I’d really love to see them modernize the technology.
