The new user interface raises this from an annoying site in the 60s to a high 70s IMO. But they still have some issues. Still with the cryptic user IDs, and you still have to log in 3 times your first time in. Navigation is clunky. Its just poorly thought-out in general.
Download speeds have been dramatically increased recently. However, the video launch/authentication doesn't work on a MAC with Flippit WMV plug-in, so the entire clip has to be downloaded in order to view.
They have a lot of good content, but their site still needs some work. Some advice to the owners; spend some of the money you're making on a real programmer with a proven track record on user interface rather than the usual clunk-heads that do porn sites. |

Ok, well I "ass"ume he shot digitally, and he used a 1024 save-size or maybe just used a 1 megapixel camera. SLR multi-megapixel cams were mega-bucks until recently. I doubt he shoots with film or a point and shoot.

The concept that Matt's "couldn't be better" is patently absurd, so getting 4 90s completely discredits EVERY ONE of TBP's reviews. They should consider what these deal's are doing to the integrity of their site. A good review site MUST be detached from doing business with the sites they are reviewing. While getting special deals for their readers is a good thing, the price they pay: the believability of their reviews, might be a bad financial move in the long run. They should learn a lesson from Rodney.

what I meant, is that you can't convert 1024 pixel photos to 1600 without stretching them. You can't add detail. So its just not a reasonable expectation. He'd have to reshoot.

The first thing here is that the name of the website implies that "Matt" is a photographer, but clearly he's not. Not only the models are amateurs, but so is the photographer. Red-eye in most of the photos, many of the photos aren't scaled properly. And the sequences aren't interesting. You'd think after photographing so many girls he'd develop some sort of style.
Some of the sets look like they've been decorated from a dumpster; he's got to be making some money from this, so the poor photographer excuse shouldn't apply here. If you're a horny guy in your 20s you'll probably love this site, but there aren't enough girls on here that I'd be dying to see naked. |

I wrote them multiple times. Perhaps they've learned from their evil ways, but at the time you only got access to 6 sites and they stated "you get access to all of our sites". So I stand by my review.

When you join a site, you want to start using it right away, not 4 hours later. It took *hours* before I could access videos. My ID worked after 10 minutes (as they state), but there were 0MB of videos available for 3 hours. I received no response from customer service in the 3 hours (normal business hours). The formats vary from movie to movie. Xvid was not happy on my MAC; i had to download and launch VNC to watch some of them. The flash format was low quality. There aren't enough search categories and you can only search on one category (no interracial + asian for example). There is no scene search. When you search for an actress you get the videos they are in and have to cobble through the scenes.
The bottom line is that the site is a bad version of videobox at a much higher price. There's really no reason to join this one as there are way too many negatives. |

There's an old business adage - decide what you want to be and be the best at it - When you try to cater to everyone you dilute the customer base that made you successful in the first place. I'm sure you know how it affects your bottom line better than I do, but be aware that there are people who want a certain type of content, and they'd rather join a site where they know that the updates will be something that interests them. I cancelled my membership after a week where there were maybe 3 scenes that interested me.
I didn't trash your site. You have a lot of good content. But if only 1/3 of the content is of interest to any given individual, then its certainly worthy of note.

While videobox offers several updates per day, so much of the content is weird stuff like midgets and squirting and fat chicks that it may be 3 days before there is something you want to see. Also, most of the content are those tiresome scenes with interview-masturbastion-dude shows up-sex with nothing to grab interest. Personally I prefer a bit of a storyline.
I cancelled my second subscription (8/2008) just in time, as it seems they've started to bandwidth limit downloads. Its too consistent to be congestion, and I simply can't get more than 700Kb/s on any download from there site. I've confirmed that i can download from other sites. Unfortunately, the speed that they allow isn't fast enough to watch DVD content in real-time, so its a huge negative. |

Its fine to say you like the site, but giving a site with such terrible quality videos a 90 is simply wrong. You've totally ignored something that should be a key criteria. Obviously vivid has the capability to put up high quality videos. They don't do so on purpose. Its not like its some garage dude who can't afford a good camera. The videos aren't just not that good. They are terrible. Its a disgrace.

I really don't see how you can give a 90 score to this site. If all Vivid content were available in good quaility it might get that score, but its simply not the case. The "new" videos are not good quality either, in fact I found that many of the older videos had better quality. But finding them is nearly impossible. This site is a waste of money unless you're viewing the videos on an ipod.

IMO, Barely Legal is the best porn series ever devised, so most of my points are for access to the 250+ scenes in this series. I also have a tool which allows me to save them without the DRM, so if you dont' have one of those then you might be disappointed. There's about 4 updates a week, thats 4 full videos so 16-20 scenes, but Barely legal updates are only about 1 per month, if that. Quality is watchable but not what you'd hope for from a site in 2007. Searching can be a pain, and there are no previews so you have to start watching each scene to see if its of interest. It could be a lot better, but the content is excellent. Mr Beaver is a hoot. |

The quality is TERRIBLE. Not just bad, but purposely terrible. They really want you to buy DVDs. Crappy, streaming-only content. They also have only a subset of Vivid content, and there are no dates and no date sorting, so you can't tell if a video is new or from 1998. |

To me, it doesn't matter how good the content is if you can't see it. Its 2007 and there is no excuse for such poor quailty videos. New content actually has LOWER quality than some of the older stuff. They lowered their price and the quality at the same time. As far as I'm concerned, I might just as well have crumpled up a $10 bill and threw it out the window.

As a follow-up, I'm receviing a tremendous amount of SPAM from the address given to the vivid.com site. I use different yahoo addresses for each sign-up, so I'm certain that they are the ones who gave out the address. So drop another 10pts from the review. |

The first thing to say is that the dude pictured on the Mr. Biggz ads only appears in the first third of the content. There's a new dude making the new ones. Still a big black cock. The girls are hot for the most part. Heavy Hangers, Jizz Bomb and Mr Biggz are the only worthwhile sites and they only get 1 update a week at most. So there isn't enough here to keep you going past the first month. The Nacho site is very disappointing as there are no updates, low quality vids, no full movie download and the chicks are mediocre looking. |

Finding something you like on this site can be a chore as their searches are limited in scope. DRM-protected movies (no warning on which are) don't work at all on my MAC. Lightning download speeds and super high-res on all of the latest content. Their updates tend to be bunched by studio or type, so all the updates for 3 days may be something you don't care for. Because of no searching, when you browse a category you have to look at the previews of a lot of stuff you might not want to see (like grannys, trannys and gays). |
