It's my personal opinion, of course, but I think it's a bit more creative and original in terms of different gay niches, scenarios etc. I don't know whether the Brits are a particularly more creative bunch in general....

In terms of gay porn, I think the UK has the edge - although I'm bound to be biased. Seems to have more original sites, like Straight Hell, Rate These Guys and some harder sites, although "Britporn" is unfortunately now starting to become polished, like the US sites.
For rawness and amateur appeal, and just pure sex I think the Eastern Europeans have the edge..

I reckon it's guilt hailing from religious dogma. As, unfortunately, most of our moral codes seem to be largely based on religion and, certainly in the UK, there's a reluctance to separate church from state (the queen is still the head of the Church of England, unelected bishops still sit in our House of Lords and therefore have a say on what legislation is passed) it's the views of a few reactionaries which try to dictate the moral code of our country. From the term self abuse, it seems whatever dictionary that definition came from doesn't make the distinction between self harm (i.e. cutting, maiming) and masturbation. Ho hum...

In British English I've only heard "could care less" when it's a direct reply to someone saying they "couldn't care less", to refute the statement. Never heard it used alone, without a qualifier...
