otoh (0) I don't use the same password on every site, but there is a pattern of sorts; if I choose my own I can generally remember it!

pat362 (0) I prefer to pick my own because I'm like otoh and my passwords have a certain pattern that helps me remember them.

Denner (0) When possible: my own - and like most here, it's easier to remember (when problems with password manager)..

rearadmiral (0) Like most here I prefer to pick my own as I use a pattern. But i isn't a really big deal for me since I also copy all the membership information into a Word document for easy reference - including the date and last file downloaded for sites that I go to regularly.

manholelover (0) Always prefer to pick. if I have several subscriptions going, all with different passwords, i do lose track. And it's a bugger when you have to keep logging in on very new page you open...

slutty (0) Like everyone else I prefer to pick, and like rearadmiral I keep a text document with all the sign in info just in case.

gaypornolover (0) I'm happy to let the site pick for me, as I use just one computer and stay logged in anyway so I don't have to remember it. I tend not to stay on sites for ages so making up new passwords would be too much hassle anyway. I seem to be the minority on this though!

Drooler (Disabled) I'm one of those undecided voters that get so much undeserved attention by the media at election time ... It's like, "You can't make up your mind? Even now? Fascinating!"

Really, I have my browser remember all of the passwords, so whether I created it or a program did doesn't matter. I always come up with completely random user names and passwords myself, so I doubt mine are insufficiently cryptic. And I always keep them stored in an Office document (which I also back up) for cancellation time and for "emergencies."

Monahan (0) I prefer to pick my own.

My password embeds the subscription number and the biller (12345678cc, for example) so it's quickly retrievable and also passes most tests for "strength."

atrapat (0) Please assign me a random user name and password. I'll have to type it just once for the browser to remember it anyway. Having it autogenerated saves me the work of having to make up one and typing it in at the sign up page.

exotics4me (0) I prefer to pick my own, but I'm noticing more and more sites are going to assigning you a username and password. The last four sites I joined all assigned me a username and password. Hey, at least it's giving us reason to use our computer for something besides porn, who knew I had a software on my PC that lets me save usernames and passwords in doc files? Now if I could find a software to find the damn things!
