The hotel will not typically have a range of IPs for guests. The hotel likely has a single external IP that's part of a pool assigned to the hotel's ISP. Internally, the hotel's router will use a protocol known as DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) to assign IPs that look like 192.168.X.X on a local network, whether you are using wireless or wired access, the same way your router does at home. If you open a DOS window and type in "ipconfig /all", you will be able to see your local IP, which is invisible to anyone beyond the hotel's router.
If an IP is blocked, for whatever reason, all traffic from that IP is completely blocked. You won't even get as far as being able to input your user name, so the site isn't blocking you personally. It won't have anything to do with you having accessed the site from other locations.
That doesn't excuse 21Sex for having ignored your email, especially if you used the email account with which you subscribed.

However, the issue you had, I wonder what was the real cause. Could it be that the hotel had requested blocking? I know, it sounds crazy. Well, you want to hear real crazy? I read in news that civil servants in Sweden aren't allowed to stay in hotels where pay porn channels are offered. Of course that doesn't sound like Hungary...

Had the same problem 2 weeks ago in a small but upscale hotel in Melbourne Australia. I got access from a big chain hotel in Sydney but at a sluggishly slow speed. But when I went on to Melbourne, I was able to access my email and basic g-rated sites but was unable to access my favorite porn sites.
I didn't follow up with the hotel so I don't know if it's selective blocking or something else.
Interestingly, however, I had superb access and speeds during a short stay in Singapore.
It would be interesting to see a survey of access issues like I experienced done by someone who is more technology savvy than I am.

I doubt they'll unblock the hotel's IP, since that would defeat the purpose of blocking Hungarian nationals. All users at the hotel share the same external IP. My favourite cam site does the same type of national blocking, but they do it model by model.
But yeah, they could have answered your email. :/

I suppose my point was that websites should only be obligated to support web standards. If they feel like they want to take the time and hack something together for a browser that doesn't render pages properly, like IE (admittedly the newer versions are better than the older versions), than they are welcome to. However that should not come at the expense of web standards for everyone else.
I too have had to lots of time writing hacks and poor code/html just in order to get a site to work in those browsers. That is why I'm so passionate about web standards.

Just bought a Hitachi 2.0 Tb ($129.99) to add to my two Seagate 1.5 Tb's and a maze of smaller ones. I remember only 3 years ago being "sure" that my HUGE 500Gb would be enough. Wrong.

I live in Madrid. i don't have a fast connection, perhaps technically it is, but given the speeds that our american friends get i don't think of it as a fast connection. I signed up for 6 megabytes with my telephone company. the fastest download speed i've ever gotten from a site was 650 kps, i'm getting this DL speed from ITC. I can download four files from ITC at a time and get over 200 kps in each one of them, that's a lot, as far as i know, considering my connection. i'm not very familiar with telematics so that's all i can tell you. i remember that you were a DDF member, well, the fastest DL i got from them a month ago was 390 kps; last summer i was getting a measly 150 kps when downloading a single file from videobox -i know that there have been complaints over videobox's download speeds from pornusers and i can attest to their assertions-.
