I noticed the profession of stuntmen being used as a comparaison to a pornstar. Does anyone think that a stuntman would allow himself to be set on fire for that big scene without first putting some protection on? Yes some of them do get hurt, but it's not because of the lack of precautions. If sometimes we can see the fake mask or the fire retardant material beneath the clothes well we accept that because the alternative might be a dead stuntman. Is it so wrong then to expect to have the same consideration for a pornstar.

I wish you luck on your crusade to find any kind of study about the the use of condom or not in porn. You won't find any. As far as I know the only segment of the pron market that requires performers to wear condoms is gay porn, and I've read that there are a couple of mavericks studios that still ask their performers to go bareback.

I know that my condom only view is in a minority, but I was shocked and saddened to read on another forum, that an 18yrs old performer contracted anal warts during the filming of one of her movies. Do you realise that this can lead to anal cancer.

Thanks. I went over your message and the Wikipedia article, too.

I guess in sum it amounts to interlacing just being a bad idea for computer-based consumption of video these days. It saves bandwidth (aha! my "compression" guess was in the ballpark), but too much to the detriment of visual satisfaction.

It reminds me of photos at Twistys, analogously anyway, which are stripped of too much data (overly compressed jpegs, which are lossy by nature anyway).

I agree, I'll quality over size most any day so long as you're not getting postage stamp sized videos. The largest sized stuff simply takes up too much disk space for what you get back, especially if all you have is standard sized monitor.

Tech question here. What is "interlace" and how does it have a detrimental effect when there's panning (say, from "point A" to "point B," a-hem)? And why is it an option for vid makers? Does it help with "compression" or something?

I know I could go look it up in my Funk & Wagnall's, but in case you or anyone else could spare a bit of knowledge on the subject, thanks.

hey asmith
my input was in no way an answer to your random reseach/test - in fact, I think all those random-inputs you've done was quite refreshing.
My input is a try (excuse my not so good english) to give a generel answer to the poll...
Keep it up, buddy!

Exactly! Does anyone really get a rise out of being on a movie set naked if front of some camera guys? I can see wanting to be in the scenes sans the camera.

The in browser comment is a good point - off hand I don't know of any image programs that take over to resize images for the browser. But outside the browser is a different matter - I find there are a ton of good ones - that resize down on the fly as well as Adobe Photoshop does using bi-cubic filtering.

One of the oldest and best is a program called ACDSee. It pulls up images extremely fast and resizes them flawlessly - used to be one program, now has expanded to a family of programs, with different versions for the users specific needs. If I recall correctly Abby Winters uses ACDSee to sort through their own archives of photos. It is pretty powerful program.

Personally, if I like a photoset - I download it and view the whole set on the hard drive because it gets annoying quickly to have to wait for each image to download. I actually usually use just standard old Windows Picture and Fax Viewer - it is pretty quick and quite good at resizing down.

Indeed, multi-month memberships do frequently hit that price range. It was more of an illustrative example as a lot of people won't drop a single payment of over $100 for porn, but yes it was slightly deceptive and done a bit for shock value (muhahaha). None the less, if I think a website is going to have the most freaking awesome porn ever (For example: Audrey Hepburn's secret hedonistic sex orgy parties filmed use Cinerama™ and presented to us in HD 1080p) I would indeed pay $150 per month for it. I really think that an individual user's perspective toward a monthly price very much demands on their financial situation and how much they value the potential product.

As a reviewer - I try to describe the quality of the service provided by the porn site. A general description of the content, the resolution of the content, how much of it there is, if can you see the content well (in focus, good lighting, good camera work), if the site is easy to navigate - so on. I try not to put personal tastes into the review too much other than the basic fact that I join sites I'm interested in rather than just plowing through a list in alphabetical order.

Cheers and happy a New Years to all of PornUsers.com tonight!

MET Art actually - it wasn't for just one month (though I have paid $50 for one month - I can't remember what site that was off hand though), but I did pay it one solid chunk. I got a much better deal when I paid that price - I think it was for 9 months or something - I don't recall exactly - it was years ago. I was really really into glamour photography back then - I paid $100 for a multi-month membership to Hegre Art too - though his stuff wasn't as good as it is now - kinda wish I had waited a few years, oh well.

I'm like you, in that I don't think studios will ever require their performers to wear a condom during penetration. That said, if half or more of them do. Then, I think many performers would rather shoot for those studios. It's a money game. A performer who gets an STD, and is sideline for "X" amount of time cannot make money. Since most female performers have at best a six month window to make their money before the next girl takes her place. It stands that you do not want to be off for 2 months with an STD.

I see you point, and you are right that if all porn was condom only, then any teen/young person who saw that would probably think that it's a good idea for him to wear a condom or her to ask that her partner does as well.

I'm 100% with you on not finding teenage pregnacy cute, nor do I find any reference to the positiveness of single mothers be they teenagers or adult women any better. Let's say that you are right about making educational sex/porn videos available to teenagers. You and I both know that since the hardcore porn exist most will bypass the mild stuff, and go for the hardcore one. Think about it. When is the last time you heard the mention of young people trying regular sports. It's all extreme, all the time. We have a generation of teenagers who live for the now and cannot or choose not to think of the future. Having been 13 once upon a time. We know everything at that age, and our parents are the ignorant ones. When it comes to teenagers and parents. It boils down to 2 things respect and fear. You have to respect their decisions and fear the consequences of breaking their rules. You don't have to agree, or think that they are right. These you discover much later on. I did stupid things when I was a teenager, but there are few that I can say my parents would have been disapointed in.

Here's my view on what influences early sexual relations between todays teenagers. Sex is everywhere. It's in the music you hear, the main stream magazines you read, on tv, in movies (even the PG rated ones), and less we forget the internet which includes all of the previous. In fact, I'd say we are seeing an oversaturation of sexuality in every form possible 24 hrs a day. How can teenagers not get mixed messages. Society says one thing, but promotes another. Now do I think Playboy is pornography. Yes it is, because we aren't seeing real women. We are seeing a fantasy. The reason I say that is that most, if not all modern photos are 40% real, and 60% photoshop. Of course, I don't think you can equal Playboy to a softcore sex movie let alone an hardcore one. Because these take the fantasy to a new level. Although your idea of making a movie with a love/educational theme is interesting. I don't think that teenagers would get it. The perfect example is 16 yrs old Jamie Lynn Spears. I'll be honest and say that I was truly disturbed to read that she was pregnant, and had been living with her 19 yrs old boyfriend. When exactly was it acceptable let alone legal to have a minor living with an adult. It isn't, but the States won't intervene and more importantly shouldn't intervene. This is the job of PARENTS. Where were Jamie Lynn's (you could put any other teenagers name here) parents??? If you haven't had a talk about sex and consequences before your child is old enough to have sex, then chances are he/she will and everyone will regret it. Sorry If I got on my high horse, but I'm really tired of reading about teenagers having babies and how cute it all is.

Now you're getting into a bit of why I use the name that I do. Never had a fat wallet, never really set out to. I've seen far too many people - especially women - give up their sense of self-worth in the name of money and, to be nice, I'll say it just irks me. Sure - achievements come in many flavors and you can label it anything you like. But chasing gold has never made for a better human being.

But, I think this is getting a bit off-topic here, so I'll be done with it. Maybe we need a general category here - an "anything goes" section. *Big cheesy grin*
