I took a year hiatus from porn for funding reasons - the so called "free" porn is just too much bloody work to find anything of interest and at the time I couldn't justify the monthly fees, so I basically didn't watch porn for that time period. Once the funds started returning, so did the porn.

I think he means no porn period. Not just buying it or downloading it for free. I went 2 and a half years recently.

I take time off from porn on occasion if I'm busy or I want to focus on other things. I don't think about it much.

Indeed that is what I said: Being that the free stuff wasn't worth the time required to find anything of interest and I couldn't afford what I would be interested in, I didn't partake in porn for that period.

Hey, I will freely admit I'm addicted to porn. So I have indeed tried to distance myself from it in the past, especially during relationships, but it's never completely gone away.

I like porn. I don't like people who smell bad. So I stay with the porn and leave the smelly people alone.

I do not see any need to get away from porn. If it does not interfere with life any more than any other hobby would then there is no issue. I have had period where I would slow down a bit, but I find it to be a nice release from all the other things going on in life. It is something to look forward to and get me through the day when I am having stressful times.

One thing that I think about at times is how awesome it would be if I could just stay completely away for 4-6 months and let a bunch of updates build up on all my favorite sites, but I just can never do it. It's so annoying waiting a week for an update on certain sites only to be disappointed because it sucks.

I have the same experience, but with my "B" list sites. It also really sucks when you stay away for several months and find that most of the new content isn't to your liking, or that the site has unexpected problems (less frequent updates, broken links, etc.) in spite of your checking at PU and TBP for more recent comments and reviews before returning to it.
With my really favorite sites, I tend to get longer-term memberships just to keep things flowing. I figure for a site I can pretty much depend on, spending under $15 a month for a year is worth it. But that's also risky because sometimes the site will change in unwelcome ways, to my tastes anyway.

I usually take time off from porn in the summer. I get so busy doing other stuff that I really don't have time. Plus it nice when I do get back into it, my fav sites have lots of new material.

Drooler. What brings me here is the same thing that attracts my buddy who has a 650+ HP mustage to mustage forums. It is nice to talk with people who share a similar interest. We can share experiences and give advise so that others do not have to find things the hard way. And I have used this for some time know to do just that and it has saved me time and money. I have viewed a good handful of sites now and thought I would give back and hopefully contribute facts and ideas that know one else has but someone may be wondering about. Plus, this is fun for me. I like to give my opinion on things that interest me, I hope there is nothing wrong with that! I hope this is the answer you were looking for? If it is not, please re ask the questing, but be more forth coming on what you want to know. This question was hard to answer, but those are the ones worth answering :)

That does not sound like a bad plan. Less expensive, plus it would give time to actually watch what you have downloaded over the months.

I do occasionally get that feeling 'This isn't doing me any good, I really should quit this and save my energies and my money for better things' - like my girlfriend, for example. Sometimes, I admit, I feel a bit sad about it all.
Then I get the urge to look at naked ladies doing dirty things and all that just flies out the window.
Whada-ya-gonna-do, as Homer Simpson might say.

I've never tried to take a break from porn. I see no need to do so because for me it's a daily source of pleasure, but the few times I found myself removed from the Internet and other sources of porn I didn't have any withdrawal symptoms either. :-)

Appreciate the honesty, Margulis. I'm addicted too. I need porn like I need food, and get hungry for it when I've not seen it for a while.
I do personally think it's probably not a healthy thing - it creates a desire for something that can only ever be obtained in the virtual world, never in real life (unless you're a male porn star).
But, as I said before: whada-ya-gonna-do.

I tried to give up porn, when I met my girlfriend, for awhile I did stop but then I realized that 80% of my time on the internet was spent watching porn, so I went right back to it.

Ah yes! You got a computer and realized it only has one true function, the downloading of porn is mass quantities. After all the trading scans of nudy pictures was the first use of the internet. I know that sounds cool and all, but it is actually the truth! So when we are downloading porn we are actually using the internet for its true intention :)

I have tried that before....it did not work so well. I even deleted several GB off my computer, and this is back when 56K dial up was king! It is obvious where that got me now. Downloading porn like no one business!

It is not the cars that are sexy. It is the power they bestow on the drives at is sexy. They give the ability to be noticed by women, and even some sexy ones :) That is where the sexiness comes from. If Ferrari did not "sell sex" than there would be much less people buying the cars. They would only attract people who crave speed and not those who crave attention.
Dont get me wrong though, I love speed and speed a good deal of time watching races and such. But I can not say that a car is sexy, but the attention it gathers just might be damn sexy!
Of course, this is my opinion :)

Yea I tried to but it didn't last to long. Every time I go on the internet its so tempting to view porn. The only way I could take a break from is if I never turn my computer on.

I do this occasionally. I pack up all my DVDs, approximately 700 of them (burned from downloads, not bought), into CardBoard Boxes, put them in the attic.
Then I dream about them, are you allowed to think about Porn or is that an automatic fail?
Then after a while, I get excited about bringing the box down and going thru it, trying to find a GEM or 3, that I managed to remember when I was dreaming about it.
Is this self-counselling coz I feel a lot better afterwards.
It like going to Confession at Church, but more fun.

hit the nail on the head. I've had a couple of breaks where instead of actually putting the stuff away, I didn't collect anymore and I realised then it would take me forever to get throug it all. I have over 2800 hours. When am I going to finfd time for that unless I sign up for the 1st mission to Mars.
So I think, nah...lets start hunting again...like any hobbie, it's the chase that's fun. Hey. I also collect rare stamps, I don't look at them all day, but knowing I have a rare set of Sea Horse stamps, a 4 margin Penny Black on the original envelope, in the bottom drawer does give you a sense of satisfaction...
It's knowing you have it. If its a real GEM, you'll watch it, but along that journey looking for GEMS, you'll pick up stone chips you're not sure are Diamonds in the rough.
Occasionally I get frustrated coz I remember I found an old uncut diamond when I see a girl later on and I think, shit, I've seen her when she was used to Hard Stuff, and I then have to test my catalogue system and go and try and find it...
It is the Hunt that counts, and like any hunter, it knowing you have the trophy when you catch your prey.
The prey...those GEMS...

I hope you do not literally put them in the attic!! DVDs do not last forever, the adhesive holds them together comes undone and the DVD is done. Attics get pretty hot, heat is not that good for them. So get them out of the attic!
It is good that you look through your backups though. This why you can find any that are bad disks. Terrible thing when you lose a hard drive, then you find the backup is junk too! :(

No problem at all. Hope you never have any issues with them. I have not, yet anyway. When CDs where first coming out more widespread they were supposed to be good for 100 years...I know that newer stuff can not last that long. But that is like any new item, the for a while they over build them, then they cut back on material until they find a sport that will last a while, but be cheaper to make.
Besides, now they will be that much easier to get to. Might find yourself digging through them more! :)

Going technobabble now. I always buy PHILIPS DVD+R. I have over 2 Terabytes now.
Denner pointed me at Killergram.com...
I consider myself a hardcore Porn Hound, yet I cannot believe I missed that one. I joined last night, kept me up until 2:30.
It might not be down your street, but Delta White on that site is awesome...
Now, I need to find the time to review some the other guys (including yours) rebiews, but I'll have to hide my cards first.
Cheers

I would have to say that my folks would shit themselves if they ever went through all of my stuff. I hope one day to pass down my collection of pictures, videos , magazines, and DVDs to someone who will appreciate all the work that when into massing it.
