Do you think contract pornstars who refuse to perform anal, dps, etc. are "coping out" due to the fact that they are guaranteed to make money?

Drooler (Disabled) Anal, dp, and other such things are what sensationalizes porn and thereby cheapens it. Frankly, I think that a performer who refuses to do such things might conceivably have a business-related reason for doing so, not necessarily just one of personal preference.

I can think of a couple of examples: Veronica Carso refusing to do anal and, earlier, Annette Haven refusing to take facials (another thing that has made porn cheap).

Besides, they are contract performers, so what they will and won't do can be specified in their contracts. That's why I answered "No" (the final item).

Money isn't everything.

lk2fireone (0) Porn stars are supposed to be adults. If you are an adult, you have the right of free choice. That means you (and porn stars) can refuse to perform sexual actions (anal, dps, etc.).
I think the question is confusing the issue of contract, which is legal, with slavery, which is illegal. Being under contract does not make you a slave.

Jay G (Disabled) Of course they can do what they want, and we can choose to not watch them or not.

Despite fantasy role-play, porn is about consensual sex.

I find porn stars who push the envelope incredibly interesting, but don't watch or condemn those who don't like this or that.

Wittyguy (0) Isn't really every ones dream to be able to do what they want in their career. To be popular and good looking enough to land a contract with a production company is darn near the top in the porn biz for stars. They've earned it, they get to decide what they want to do. If they don't do "enough" then their contracts won't get renewed. That's business.

badandy400 (0) Maybe some do, but I think over all most do not. This stuff might not be mentioned explicitly in the contract. After all it is the woman's body and I have no problem with her deciding that something is too much. We can tell if a woman feels forced into doing something because it shows in the way she does it and the absolute lack of enthusiasm.

pat362 (0) Of course they aren't. Therer have been a few pornstars that started doing many of these acts and then became contract stars. I think for the most part that it may be a bad business decision. Contract stars are guaranteed income and it doesn't mean that they have to do many movies. In return, the studio tends to own you and when I mean you. I mean your stage name. Whatever popularity you gain under that name can sometime remain with the studio so if you leave then the name my not follow you. In return, if the studio only releases a couple of your movies a year then your name doesn't get talked as often. This is porn and unles you are performing in porn movies then people can't see your stuff.

NMC2008 (0) Not really, I think they are saving that for when their career starts to dip in the "Who gives a fuck about you?" area, and then, like Gianna Michaels(I know she isn't contract but still)the fire burned for her first anal scene.

It's the insurance plan, I await to see when the aging Lexi Belle uses hers.

PinkPanther (0) It's their bodies - they take the risks with anal sex or whatever - if they don't want those risks, I have no right to claim that they're copping out.

It's interesting that Jana Cova has started doing more boy/girl stuff at her web site - and has done increasing amounts of it even though she had many members and guys that worked on her site asking her NOT to do it. She wanted to, so she is - good for her. Just like she passed up a lot of money that she could have been making doing boy/girl for major porn studios up to now.

Lionheart (0) Anal and DP is painful the stars shouldn't be forced into doing a scene because they signed something.

james4096 (Suspended) Of course the can do what they want it's their body. I'm sure many girls don't do anal or dp because those acts are painful or uncomfortable.

But there are many pornstars who won't do anal because they think they are too good to do it, it will hurt their marketability or they are saving it in order to get more money when they actually do it. Somebody should tell them that it's 2009 and anal is now mainstream.

The performers in porn don't know that anal is happening a lot in porn?

What?

How is that the case?

Thanks for a different perspective. Never really thought of the fact that though they're guaranteed money, the company pretty much determines their fame and status in essence

Duante Amorculo (0) When I first posted this I was of the mindset that they definately were coping out. Not saying my mind has changed but I definately forgot to take into consideration the basic fact that it is their body and they are free to do whatever they want with it. What they wont do, others will, so it really doesn't matter.

What I mean was that they still have the old mentality. Of course they know people do it, but people are stubborn in their thinking. They still believe that things like anal or interracial will ruin their marketability.

If I hadn't read on other forum all the issues attached with former contract stars. Then I suppose I would think that a contract is a great idea. I think that many comnpanies take advantage of the ignorance of the performers. The company knows that when the girl signs her name on the contract that it will own that stars stage name. They will justify it by the fact that they made that star famous with all the promotion but I find that a poor excuse for stealing. Digital Playground is famous for doing that.

monty2222 (0) It's their body, if there's something they don't wanna do then it's their right to refrain. Personally I also feel that the attitude and enthusiasm they bring to a scene are much more important than whether they do anal or not (which I'm not much of a fan of anyway). Some of my favourite stars (Dani Woodward, Penny Flame, Roxy Deville) have never done anal on camera, but the attitude they always bring to what they do mean that when they're in a scene I know it's gonna be good and I can download it without hesitation.

and here I was thinking these contract stars, for the most part, had it made. Just goes to show you that not all that glitters is gold.

In this case what glitters is definetely not gold. I don't even think it's a silver lining. Most pornstars have at best 1-2 yrs to make a name for themselves and in return make their money. The contract seems like a great idea at first and for some girls it may be but I can think of at least 3 contract stars who should have greater name recognition but because of their contract. They can only film for a studio that releases their movies only every 2-3 months. In the real world that would be like a star making one movie every 2 yrs.
