I look at the PU/TBP reviews, then check the preview pages at the site, to get an idea whether the site might interest me. I don't usually bother with outside reviews, because I generally go for sites that have been reviewed at least a couple of times at PU, and that gives me enough of an idea of what I might expect.

Just PU reviews and if there are no PU reviews then I check out the site myself and if I am feeling good about the content I take the plunge and if the site sucks then I blame PU and will sue them for emotional distress, lol, not really.

I always look at TBP facts pages. These tell me a lot of what I need to know. After that I will look for PU reviews if I have doubts still. The main stream sites are easy and there are a lot of reviews. The trouble is with the lesser known sites because there may not be any reviews and it is someone that does not have reputation. This always makes me a little more worrisome at first. But if you want something different you have to look elsewhere than the usually high profile sites that have all the reviews and information.

My answer is pretty close to badandy400's and the others as well so far. The only difference is that I'll usually check PU first, then TBP second. I'll look at the site, of course.
What I want are excellent quality pics AT LEAST 1600px in size. Until I get that info confirmed, I'll keep looking, so I might need to check Rabbit's, PornInspector, etc. Erohtica sometimes helps if they put up sample pics. Same thing with SportyOne.

Nothin' new here. Check PU and TBP. If there outside reviews that I trust (there aren't many other sites out there in my book) I'll look there as well. Then the site tour and then fork over my card.
I'm with Drooler in that I want to check out sample pic sizes before joining which they don't have here. Hopefully with the reformatting of TBP that will change. My only concern is that the TBP reviewers will only look at a few pics and post the sizes when in fact the older material on a site ain't worth beans.

The key thing for me is finding sample sets - easy to do in the age of the internet. Then I'll check out some reviews - price is a big factor. If their sample sets and the tour material turns me on and the price seems right and reviews don't put to anything hellaciously wrong, I'll join.

I check the TBP and PU review(s) and then I take a look at the preview pages. I used to visit other review sites but I found that many of them had fake/misleading reviews. I'm not saying that all of them are lying but I found enough of them to be less than honest. That was the main reason why TBP appealed to me. The reviews always seem honest.

PU first, then TBP if I need more info or if the scores are significantly different.

I tend to check out the users that I trust the most and find sites that they enjoyed, then use TBP for any hardline facts they may have not mentioned. If it is a site not reviewed by PU's, I always check TBP to see what they say. However, I can get sucked in to sites with no TBP or no PU reviews and comments, hence, taking a stab at it with the preview and tour alone. However, I found myself more disapointed than happy when I do this. So, I'm attempting to stay with sites with info from TBP and PU these days. I tend to find outside reviews to be overally high scored. When joining sites based on these reviews, the sources tend to overscore or be outdated and usually are pretty far off in the review than I thought. So, I stick with TBP and PU always and ignore the rest.

PU first and foremost, then TBP for any extra fact-checking, plus their preview pages (and if they don't have any, I usually don't join). If I am lucky enough to get a recommendation in person from a friend or someone I know, than that's even better, but it's rare.

You must use both. TBP has all the raw data (# of sets, etc.) and of course any discounts will be found there, so it would be foolish not to look. The con is that the TBP reviewers don't spend a month using the site to see it from the customer's view.
And you must use PU for that reason---the hands on experience of being in there. The con is sometimes a PU reviewer will let a bad experience turn his review bitter and even vindictive.

I use reviews from PU and the TBP factsheet, but usually not the TBP reviews. Then, if I'm satisfied with what I've seen, I'll check the site's preview page for a final impression.
Outside reviews often seem to be too old and too enthusiastic about the site, I never bother with those.

I usually go to PU first for opinions, then to TBP for details.

I check PU first and then get the facts fro TBP. If I'm not sure I check outside sites. But sometimes, I'm looking at sites that aren't reviewed anywhere and I'm on my own.

Not too much, sometimes I don't even read any reviews and comments.

I check all of the above answers. Money is tight nowadays, got to really search before I invest my money into a paysite or anything for that matter.
