Lots of experience, some very good, but most like shouting down a black hole without an echo.
My Great Response Award goes to Dallas from DallasSpanksHard and Kink.com, both of which were quick to respond to problems for me. Other sites often seem to ignore e-mails.

Tech support is usually less responsive than customer service. Some sites ignore every question and never respond.

I thought we had a similar poll recently, until I saw the "submitted by" name. I must be going brain-dead. Lol.
The usual response from tech support is none. Rarely do I get a fast response. The last fast response I got was no help at all, it indicated tech support did not understand what I thought was a good explanation of a simple problem. I don't know if tech support did not understand English, or did not bother trying to understand my email request and just sent a form answer that was not helpful for my problem.
I have found a fast, helpful answer from tech support is rare.
But I only use tech support only sometimes, when I have a problem. If I used tech support more often, maybe I would have more positive experiences with it.
So my most common experience with tech support is no response (tech support appears to be dead or unoccupied or missing in action).
PU tech support is excellent, they are fast and helpful. But PU is not a paysite. :)

justme, the poll is supposed to be answered based on your own personal experience. If the first poll selections do not supply the answer you believe applies to you, select the "other" option, and then write in a brief explanation of your response as you already did.
Seems like a fairly simple thing to do. Which you appear to have done already (I am assuming you voted for the "other" option).

Agree with others here, I can only rate the support on a site by site basis. Some are excellent, some are utter crud and the rest are somewhere in between.

The very few times I required tech support I always got formulaic answers that did not apply to my problems.

Other - much difference depending on which site.
But generally I've received a lot of answers about tech-questions where most answers where not useful.
And - again - generally I feel a lot of paysites are ok in answering other kinds of question - but NOT - tech...It's still like you ask about one specific item - and they answer to something completely different - strange is it not?

Very varied.
Some are keen & helpful.
Some fob you off with a quick answer.
Others simply ignore you.
A mixed bag, but generally good on the whole these days.
A lot of the cowboy / con men have moved on to more lucrative / less labour intensive markets.

Other. Very other. From nothing at all to faster than I can get back to my email to read the response. (I only check my email once every couple of days, usually.)
In any case, tech support is important to us and to them. When we get cold-shouldered, especially when it's something like cancellation or login problems, the issue might get discussed here if the customer is not happy.

I've only needed support a few times and the responses vary. The best support I've ever seen is from the Kink.com network. I screwed something up and they proposed a solution and implemented it.

The only site that I've ever used tech support was on 21sextury. It wasn't fast but I did get my issue resolved within a day or two so I wouldn't consider that too slow eitheir.

Sites vary considerably. I've experienced sites that answered within a couple of minutes. I've experienced sites that I had to hunt down across the internet. One of the worst was joining Stephanie Swift's site years ago. She had some kind of "key"/password thing that didn't work for anybody. She had no help on the site and couldn't deal with it herself, so she didn't. Then she got upset that most of the posts on the forum were negative - cause people were paying money for nothing. I had to hunt down the guy who had worked on the web design, found a phone # for his company, gave him my info and he used his back-door that he was using to do the web design work to get me access.
On the other hand, Shap at Twisty's passed on a dinner with a porn babe to help resolve a problem where their new anti-hacker software had blocked me along with another Comcast customer's ISP because the other guy was some asshole hacker trying to rip them off.

Can't say that I've used tech support all that frequently, but the only times I have it has been reasonable enough I suppose.
