I've love 3d from the first time I saw Creature from the Black Lagoon and House of Wax in 3D. Excellent porn in 3D would be awesome. So far the 3D porn I've seen is mediocre, though.

Did you see Creature from the Black Lagoon and House of Wax in the original runs back in the 1950s?
I dimly recall seeing Creature from the Black Lagoon at the movies back in the 1950s, but I didn't remember it was in 3D.
I think I only saw House of Wax on TV, so that wasn't in 3D when I saw it.
I remember 3D glasses back then were made of paper with plastic to see through. The glasses seemed different from today's 3D glasses. I don't remember any eye-strain effect back in the 1950s. They even had 3D comic books. I had a 3D comic book of the 3 Stooges back then.

If you have to wear goggles and still see barely recognizable 3-D there's no point. I doubt that anyone can even download a 3-D movie that plays back decently in 3-D in a commonly used viewing format (WMP, VLC, etc). Right now it's just a gimmick until the technology makes it look good. Even then, it won't have much of an impact on me because you'll need to play it back on a big old monitor / tv to get the full effect which I don't do.

I'm only slightly interested right now, as I have yet to hear of any 3D technology that is up to snuff for home viewing. This may be a blessing in disguise--what's going to happen to the market when 3D gets so good that viewers start running from the room every time some crazy milk enema scene starts?
Just be thankful we don't have Smell-O-Vision...

I've been singularly unimpressed by 3D films I've seen at the cinema, so I can imagine porn would be even more of a letdown, possibly literally...

I've seen 6 or more mainstream movies in 3D and not a single one was significantly better by the addition of 3D. Avatar was the first to get the ball rolling and is possibly the best one of the bunch. Even that one is just as fun to watch in 2D. I think 3D is more gimmick than improvement. That and a major cash grab by studios that care more for product placement than making a decent movie. Although many studios are discovering to their detriment that 3D is not such a great money maker as they thougth it would be.

Wow, I remember the hoopla about 3D porn in the forum a while back. I thought I was the only stinker in the bunch! Well, as I was saying ... ;)

Not so much now, perhaps as things improve I might be more interested. Although the 3D stuff I've seen in the theatre has given me a headache, don't know that I want that after porn viewing.

I can't stand to wear goggles over my glasses. Very uncomfortable so I won't consider 3D until the technology evolves to a point where 3D can be experienced without goggles.
And I still remember House of Wax and all those things coming at you through the screen. Didn't do much for the story. Now imagine your average Gonzo Porn video with the male star's hairy ass coming at you as he pumps away for ten minutes or so? THAT is scary!

Great, then every time you walk by an Internet cafe, or just anyplace with WiFi (which includes a lot of businesses), it's going to reek of anal lube, man ass, and whatever body fluids are involved in the videos people are currently watching/smelling. And then Panasonic is going to have redesign their Toughbook laptop to be reek-resistant, and we're all going to be buying wipes for our computers, but not for the screens just to sanitize them.

Thanks, anyonebutme. I had no idea. I will still hold off until there are umpteen 3D channels AND TVs to pick from.

Frankly I'd really like "smell-o-vision." That aroma of raw tuna as the camera closes in on a gorgeous cunt, or s sexy and erotic perfume in the air as a babe drops her drawers would be great.
Now let's discuss the real technical advance; "touch-o-vision," where one can caress the soft tit flesh or enjoy the sensation of sticky juices on fingers when inserting them in a moist pussy...or the ultimate, the feeling of letting a babe do the BJ rather than one's own fist.

I saw Creature and House of Wax in 3D at an art house cinema revival in the 1970's. I also had a few 3D comics I collected and a 3D issue of the National Lampoon.
The glasses were polarized lenses (not blue/green and red).

Didn't 3D porn fail? I thought it was a dumb idea.
