1280x800 or there about.
Using a Nvidia 9600 512mb card.
On my 32" monitor works well.

I prefer 720p basically cause I can't see that much of an improvement in 1080p movies to be worth the amount of hard disk space they take up, very often I only ever watch a movie once, sometimes never get around to even that so when your files are getting well into 1000s MBs I don't think its worth the bigger option. I do have a few 1080ps but not many.

720 or 1080 works fine for me. I use a 1920x1080 monitor, so 1080 is good for full screen - but I do agree with elephant that in many cases you don't see a difference between the two. However, given that that video survives some upscaling, even when we are using the next generation of higher-res monitors, 1080 vids should still look good full screen, so I usually go for those.

Not really a video fan, but I would say whatever gives watchable quality without a humungous file size.

Agree with the Capn, other factors like lighting and camera-work are just as important to me. I judge a video by looking at it, not just its numbers. Poor lighting and camera-work can ruin any video, no matter the resolution.

This is a video fan.....
And there're different things to consider:
1) Viewing quality
2) Handling of vid-files
3) Space
To this user a 1280x720 - or around there - is just FINE (for most vids/producers). They are normally easy to handle/use (fast forward ect.), too - and generally top quality.
Some of those 1920x1080 are top, but not necessary for a good viewing quality - and can be a mess to play fast forward ect. And takes up too much space...

I always go for the latest and the biggest in video and in picture, they survive the upgrades the best. With a high download speed and cheap (up until now) externals, why not? I do agree with others, though, that for now 720p is also a valid option if I don't intend to keep the video.

For my 27" monitor, 720 is a perfect match. Sometimes I can see a difference in detail with 1080, but not often enough to DL when given a choice.

1080p as long as the compression is reasonable. I want it all if possible.

i actually prefer smaller files...they take up less space on the hard drive. As long as the picture is clear and the frame rate is 29-30 frames per second, I'm fine with a small video file.

Another vote for 1280x720. If sites had high bitrate 1080p, I'd prefer that, but 1280x720 is the sweet spot right now (the exception is reality kings, but even then their 720p videos on their videobox channel still blow away their 1080p videos).

Not sure to be honest! I like it to be reasonably big but it doesn't have to cover the screen - and I don't like the huge download sizes.
I have a 15.6" laptop screen but not very up on technical details - what would be the best resolution for me?!

I'm with elephant, 720p is my preferred size, I can't really tell much of a difference on anything higher so I don't think it is worth the extra space.

I picked 720p 1280x720 because that's an excellent
resolution but I think 640x480 is more than enough for me. I've often mentioned that I have a limit on the amount of GiG I can download without paying a surcharge so I pick the resolution that gives me the best video quality for the smallest file size.

Gaypornolover,
A good video watching resolution for a smaller monitor would be 800x600.
Now the screen may seem crowded icon wise at that resolution, but if you have a 720 video it should fill up and look pretty good.
Again we are talkin movies only. Average use I would say on a nice 15 would be 1280 X 800 thats always a nice medium size, but depends on how many icons you have and what resolution your pc can show too.

I like the 720p, last time I was on In The Crack, I didn't download any of the 1080p because of file size. Though my monitor is 1920x1080, I've found that the 1280x720 videos look plenty good on it. There was a site, maybe Sapphic Erotica or one of the DDF sites that had an odd 960x580 or something like that, that I really liked as an overall combination since those did look plenty good and were half the size of the 1080p files.

Agreed. 720 is the perfect balance between hd size and video quality.

I love 1080p, but I will also take 720p. As long as the picture is sharp and clear.
