I use pretty much all of them for work, but my own machine is Mac OS, has been, well, forever. However, I'm not the zealot I once was, and am reasonably content to use Windows where necessary. Apple's increasing iOS-ification of Mac OS is bothering me, though; I may jump ship sometime and if I do, it would be to Linux.

I use Win7, because that's what came on my current computer.
But I liked WinXP just as well.

Of that machines I use, 2 each of XP, Vista, and Windows 7. I don't bother with upgrades, just buy another machine.

Nice to see that XP has withstood the test of time and is still viable enough to be included as a choice here. My XP machine is the one for personal-"a-hem" use, but if you include work there's XP, Vista, 7, and Mac. I think mine's a Tiger.
Funny how "Mac OS" is supposed to suffice in the common discourse. Apple has put out new versions of their OS, too. Can anyone name the current one without Google cheating?
I can't ...

I use Windows 7 and I really love it. I never got Vista because my last computer couldn't run it. I had XP on my old computer and I also like it a lot.
It was really good but it had too many holes when it came to viruses and trojans. I never tried Vista because my old computer was too old to run it so when I got a huge virus on my old computer then I decided to buy a new one and to get Win7 for it. I cleaned the old one and gave it to my dad.

I use Windows 7 because it came with my machine but wish I still had Windows xp because some of my games don't play on W7. Other than that I think it is a very good OS and doubt that I will upgrade to 8 when that one comes out.

Windows 7 here. I used to have Mac OSX but it doesn't always play nice with porn so it had to go! Besides, I got sick of Apple constantly bringing out expensive "new" operating systems and making it harder and harder to use old ones. Microsoft is still supporting XP now!
I heard Vista was a car-crash but I like 7. XP was still a good system though.

Is it iOS? Just a guess since everything Apple these days has an i in front of it.

I'm still clinging to xp and probably will until my machine finally gives up the ghost. Most of these OS are really interchangeable for the average user so it's really just a question of how hard some of us want to hang onto our old programs that won't work on the newest whiz-bang stuff or the fact that we just use what came loaded on our box.

Win7 Home. Lots better than XP, except in the networking dept. Seems every time one PC (I have 3) gets an "update" it can no longer connect to the others. I'm real pissed about that.

I didn't put 2000 as and option but share you good taste in OS's.
2000 was a work horse. Sad that MS never caught on to how good it really was.

XP is pretty good but, at least for me, it definitely boots slower and is heavier on system resources than 2000.
Microshaft knows how good it is - But continuing support for 2000 didn't bring in any money. It was time to put out something "new and improved" a.k.a. "We need more millions".

Upgraded to Windows 7 Home Edition one or two yrs ago...
In retrospect, though, wish I'd stayed with my XP.

Current Mac OS is Lion - iOS is the OS for the iPhone and iPad - as opposed to Mac OS, which is for desktop/laptop computers. iOS is a walled garden, with all apps having to be approved by Apple, which is a mixed blessing. Mac OS is gradually going in that direction, which I'm not keen on...

gpl - although as noted I'm growing a bit disenfranchised with Apple, it's a bit unfair to complain about the price of Mac OS! Granted we pay a hefty premium to use it in the first place in the form of expensive hardware, but that's the choice we make. Thereafter, OS upgrades have always been cheaper than Windows, and the latest, Lion, is about £20.
A shame you had problems with porn, though - thus far I've had no issues on Mac OS... but glad you are still enjoying smut on Windows :)

CT, how are you enjoying using Linux? I use various kinds for work as servers (and actually Mac OS is not too dissimilar, being Unix) and use Ubuntu on my netbook for casual use, but haven't used it yet as a day-to-day OS.
I'm a huge fan of the Linux, given that it is free as in both beer and speech. I like to think it's a very viable OS for many folk and am hugely peeved that it is essentially impossible to buy a computer without paying MS for Windows, even if you have no intention of using it.

I know what you mean but what annoys me is that Apple are introducing "new versions" of OSX which really aren't major upgrades at all - they're basically the same thing with a few extra features - and they're cutting off support to older systems.
I have a friend who uses Leopard OSX and can't use the latest versions of Apple software - but his boyfriend who has an ancient Windows XP PC can! So Apple will support old versions of Windows, but not of OSX.
OSX Leopard only came out in 2007, Windows XP in 2001 - Apple will support XP but not Leopard.

I like Linux and find Unbunto very porn friendly, the video players use the memory so much better.
If you want go ahead and shoot me an email and we can talk shop about the Os's.
