I'd keep enjoying her work but it would take me a few months before I did it. I don't know if I'm suppose to have a different view of porn actors vs mainstream ones because most of my favorite movies are all before the 70's and most of the actors in them are now dead and that hasn't sopped me from enjoying those movies.

Carry on watching without a second thought in the same way I would carry on listening to my favourite musician if they were to pass away.

No need to change approach in my opinion. Cannot remember anyone else significant dying but Lea De Mae.

I'm not sure that dying and watching someone who died are really all that connected. For example, Megan Leigh, self-inflicted gunshot wound due to drug abuse on 6/16/90, is one of my favorite old time actors I keep on hand.
Basically the same sentiment BadMrFrosty has.

Sort of agree with BadMrFrosty. I would feel sorry she had died, but would still enjoy her beauty.

Interesting question! It's unlikely with me as I tend to prefer amateur sites and don't go in for the big glossy famous porn stars. It's not something I've really thought of before.
On the whole though I think I could still watch them - I watch old TV shows where I know some of my favourite actors have died after all. It makes me a little sad, but it's nice that they left a legacy behind.
I suppose porn might seem a bit different, but ultimately it isn't - they were putting on a show for people to enjoy.
If you could never watch anything with someone in it who'd died, you'd be unable to watch an awful lot of classic movies and TV shows. It's the same for porno.

There was a reason for this poll. A couple of months ago I found a porn star whose looks I really liked and just after I started to collect her videos I found out that she had died a couple of years ago after years of abuse by boyfriend, drug abuse etc. I believe she committed suicide. This put me into a quandary. Could I watch, without squirming, some of her steamier scenes? All of a sudden she wasn't just a face. I decided not to watch. This wouldn't always be the case, it certainly isn't the case when it comes to main stream actors or actresses, but in her case (sadly I forgot her name already) I felt as if I were violating her memory. When it comes to old time porn stars who died a natural death I do not feel the same way. I guess that puts me under "other!" because sometilmes I do, sometimes I don't depending on the circumstances.

Don't know if it's the one you're thinking of, but it sounds similar to the one I'm going to list, Haley Paige. I wouldn't say she was ever a favorite, but I did usually download most or all of her scenes I could find. Was also still in California at the time so her death was more publicized. It was really messed up from what I remember. Haven't been able to watch her scenes since. I really don't know if the death was different, with different circumstances, if I would feel different and since most of the stars I would put in my favorites group are still alive.

Thank you, exotics, that's exactly who it was: Haley Page! I think I read about her death right here. The Forum?

I still watch Haley Paige scenes to this day, and I didn't really start following porn stars specifically until after she died. It doesn't effect me, really, just like it doesn't effect me watching Casablanca even though nearly everyone in it (if not everyone) is dead by now.

I have a special "RIP" folder for all of the ones who died.
Just kidding.

I think it was brought up a long time ago on the forum. I was a psychologist in LA back when it happened. She had been trying to start a career in sex therapy as a therapist. I didn't know her personally, but had several colleagues who knew her. Which is probably my answer to why her case may be different for me.

It's probably more of a personal thing since I knew of her through some other psychologists in LA at the time. After I went back and looked, I have a whole folder of Savannah from the early 90s, who I think was one of the first porn highly publicized suicides.

I don't really watch any Haley Paige scenes anymore, I'm not really sure why. Perhaps it is just the cirumstances of her death that matter as exotics said, I'd probably have a hard time watching anyone who was died of murder/suicide or an STD. Of course, I'm not really in the loop with the happenings of porn stars, so I probably wouldn't even know unless it were well publicized.

I voted other, as I'm not entirely sure.
I'm always quite sceptical when I hear a pornstar has died, although I'm more into amateurs rather than pornstars where it would more likely be reported on in the news.
Beyond this, I'm not entirely sure. It might kind of take the fun out of it really. I dunno. Hard to say.

Like the general view, I would go on enjoying the work. They would have found a sort of immortality in video, which can't be bad.

I have no problem enjoying film stars that have died, nor do I have problems enjoying pornstars that have died. If you watch older porn, there is a high likelihood you'll run across stars that have since died. Marilyn Chambers, John Holmes, Jon Dough, et cetera. Even recent deaths like Haley Paige (btw Wikipedia implies it was an accidental Methadone overdose; her husband committed suicide approx. a month later) don't hugely bother me because the star lives on in the video and their absence isn't all that different than if they retired. Paige would have been 31 this year and quite likely retired from the industry at this point. I guess I don't really see any problem appreciating a performer who died any more than I see a problem appreciating a performer in their youth despite their now advanced age. Kathleen Turner was quite beautiful in "Romancing the Stone", the fact that she now hangs out with John Waters doesn't change that. (Photo: http://www.imdb.com/media/rm4240947712/nm0000678)

I would carry on enjoying her. If early death is a waste of life, surely ditching her life's work is even more of a waste.
In the mainstream, Marilyn Monroe is the most famous suicide and there was never any question of withdrawing her work.
