Other. I store stuff based on the network and sub site. I dislike that name changing stuff although sometimes new models have such a stupid names that it doesn't hurt.

Other - as RustyJ.
I also include a cross reference to at least one set in the new name, referring me back to the old name so I can find all her stuff.

I've not had the opportunity to make this decision since, of the ones that I do store by name, no one has changed their name. And while I have some under name in my catalog system, most of my clips are just dumped into folders that require sorting.

By the old name, but if it wasn't just for a guest appearance on a site (eg, she moved to another site permanently under the new name), I'd probably rename the folder to include the new name in brackets, eg: 'Karla (Casandra)' ...with Casandra being the new name.

A lot of models has several and different names at different sites.
The problem is foremost: the browsing.
So: Concerning the storing I make mine with most of the names....which helps a lot when doing a search at various drives.....some will overlap, of course - still it makes things easier - when, well, yes: browsing for certain models.

I use the old name and add a parenthetical reference to the new name.

I normally name my videos files by the most common name of the performer and the site where I got the content. I think that Eastern Europena models are the only ones to have multple identities. It's quite rare for a North American performer to changer name. The exceptions tend to be newbies who come into the industry and then change their name. probably because their agent told them to.

I try and use eurobabe index for getting a euro models name, they tend to have dozens of names, American porn stars are better cause they stay the same of similar spellings of their name. It would be much better for there to just have a pornstar name decided when they join the business and they have to stick with that name throughout their career. Sadly lots of sites want people to believe that they have some of these girls the first time on camera and rename them.

I suspect that this is a much bigger issue with European and Russian, etc. models than it is with U.S models, but I try to stick to the old name. The one case I can think of where an American model was ordered to change her name was Violet Blue who was sued by another Violet Blue. Our Violet Blue became Noname Jane. The strange thing about that is that the porn Violet Blue was/is probably a lot better known that some second-rate 'journalist' hack.

I don't really find I follow particular porn stars - the big studio porn that has "celebrity" porn stars rarely produce the kind of content I'm looking for.
I tend to use amateur sites and even when I do recognise the model, they often use different names on each site and then only an ordinary first name.
I just use whichever name they use on that site - but if I do particularly like a model I'll add a short note to the title, for example "David (Rob on [insert site name}".
It's not really that important as I always use large thumbnails for files so often you can see a picture of the guy - and I'll recognise his face without needing to know his stage name.

I store my content firstly by website name and then by model name within that site so I would use whatever name that site gives to her so I guess I would store by a combination of both her old name or new name or whatever alias any particular website gives her.

It's a simple question, but I've found over time that several factors come into play: how unique the name is, how appealing it is, how commonly used, how easy (or hard) to remember it is, and just how strong the association of the girl with the name has become in my own mind.
I still call Justine Joli "Swan" and Kirsten Price "Jadra Holly." "Swan" is weird, but it's uncommon and very easy to remember. And I just love the name "Jadra Holly."
It's too bad there aren't more girls who have solid names, like Susanna Spears and Sophia Knight, that never seem to change.

REPLY TO #16 - tangub :
Pretty much what Tangub said - I'll keep stuff by website, and although I have seen the same model on the same site with different names, it's not something that's bothered me enough to have a policy on it. I guess if I did organise by another method it would be more likely photographer rather than model.

If I find a model particularly attractive, I will move all her stuff into my OMG folder, regardless of name. There are about 10 girls in there now out of about 200,000.
