The trouble here is that each person can do what they want. There very well could be a few people who put some sort of DRM on the videos. But many of the videos seem to be fairly amateur so I highly doubt you will find and DRM floating around. The major issue here is the expense of the site. It is way too much! If a movie contains an average of 5 scenes and retails for 20$ then each scene comes to 4$ each. Most scene are at least 15-20 minutes. Now why anyone would want a 5 minutes clip is beyond me, but I guess if I use my above calculation then 5 min is 1$, 10min is 2$ and 20 min is 4$. That would seem like a fair price but the quality has to be there. Afterall a 20$ dvd is still dvd quality while many clips might not be remotely close to that in quality. The clip store owners can set their own price, but it is expensive because they take X percent out for credit card processing, bandwidth, and profit. The one thing I hate the most is that you can't add clips from separate stores to your cart to buy. Other than that it is up to you wheather you want to buy or not. I have an idea of making my own site with lower percentage take out, more features, global shopping cart, better design (theirs sucks), and focus on all categories instead of just fetish. Unfortunately I am not sure if I will have the time to get around to it... | |

I find this to be an overall much too expensive way to get porn. For me to even consider buying it this way it would have to be something truly amazing and extremely unique. Another problem I find is that most of the clip stores actually have email newsletters (believe it or not), but I have found no way to actually recieve the newsletter unless you buy a clip from their store. Pretty sad if you ask me. No publicly available newsletters (Im sure the store owners would love to have that feature), no XML/RSS/ATOM feeds. Seems like this site is still living in the past. Unfortunatly it is one of the only sites like it out there... anyone know of a decent competitor? Just FYI, here are a few that I follow on a regular / semi-regual basis: h2oGems -- Of my my favorite, bought a few clips from here. Regular updates. Features underwater models in softcore (from just nudity to masturbation) and hardcore performances (sex to BDSM and forced drowning). M/F and F/F scenes. Most all of them are filmed underwater (pool, lake, or ocean scenes). Video quality could be a little higher, but is still watchable full screen. NOTE: Some of the vidoes here include what I believe to be ACTUAL drowning! Some show them being given CPR and revived. Lost Bets (redirects to their C4S store) -- Also a favorite. Regular updates. Features HD content! Features clips of women (and sometimes men) playing games (like Battleship, card games, Connect 4, Operation, etc.), but the player who looses has do some task from stripping naked to showering to being covered in whipped cream to sex with another player (it's different each game). NOTE: These games are played FAIRLY! That means that in some games that include male players, the male can LOOSE! That means male nudity is present in some of the clips. Additionally, this store does feature a model or two who are hairy. If that is not your thing read the description first (it will usually tell you) or search for 'hairy' to know what clips to avoid (if that isn't your thing) or find (if it is). Man Destoryer (Goddess Glory) -- Irregular Updates (typically, see her blog for more info). Features BDSM (femdom) and softcore. Now femdom is not really my thing, but this chick is HOT! She is black and hairy (WARNING, IF THAT IS NOT YOUR THING). I have gotten a few clips from here, mostly the few she puts out here or there that is just her nude or masturbating. Actual drowning? Seems a little risky to me. In the event that it is actually real I would think that with them taking video of the act it would very difficult to defend the murder charges they would receive in the event they could not resuscitate the person. Perhaps one of the webmasters can help me with clips4sale's utter failure to provide any service; I bought a clip( a cum-masters) last week for $12 that downloaded as a dm.pf file. Clips4sales' site says this will happen sometimes and that if you let them know they will reactivate it for DL. I have left 2 messages on the customer service line and 2 e-mails with no response at all. Obviously I would never buy another clip from any studio at the site and I strongly recommend that no else do either if I continue to get no response. rome476 | |

My god the prices, some of them are over a dollar a minute, for the price of a couple of movies you can get a months access to a professional site with hundreds if not thousands of videos. Looking at the quality (of the performers and the videos) I'm awe struck, horrible (for the price). | |

Hi, Although this question is not related really I thought I'd answer this for you. 1.You need much more content 2.You need to be uploading 2-3 pieces of content daily. 3.The prices by default are very high. 4.It helps to have your own paysite (Treat your paysite as priority) Too true.
The reason for the expense is basically the company itself C4S sets a default on clips. So it doesn't matter how much the producer thinks its worth, there is an absolute minimum for each video. A pain, but this site gives me the option of selling individuals rather than membership. Some people do not like the recurring/single shot thing. "Quality" of models are quite good, sometimes you get some iffy ones, but for what floats ones boat, won't float anothers.. Clips4sale caters for some that can't afford to set up a site. I sell a lot of my video on Clips4Sale because many people are more willing to pay their prices than get a membership to a paysite. My videos are drastically cheaper if you get them by signing up to my site, but that doesn't seem to persuade people! I really wish Clips4Sale would drop their minimum price by about 40-50%. I'm sure they would sell a lot more videos. All of the videos I sell via Clips4sale are priced as low as possible, but I think they should be about 30-40% lower. The main draw to Clips4Sale is niche or fetish content not supplied by a mega-porn site. And with the prices and setup, it's not possible for the pirates to make $$ off redistributing the content either. So, have a desirable niche that's not competing against a mega site, nor against the piracy world, then the store will succeed even at those prices. If someone wants the content, he is going to pay for it. If someone doesn't really want the content, I doubt halving the price will triple the sales. The site is what it is. And if it's not to your specific liking, then just go elsewhere. | |

That would be good to find a UK equivalent. I used Clips4Sale currently to sell clips to those people who want to see my site's content but don't (for whatever reason) want to sign up for a membership. Because of C4S high minimum prices and the large cut they take it works out as a much more expensive way to get my videos, but lots of people still use it. I have all my videos there set to the minimum price but I would still prefer to cut the prices by another 40-45%. I'm with Ed on this one. I cringe every time I obligate myself to a renewable site. Once your card sends over the funds and you're binded under a renewal lock-in, you're on the ropes as to them honoring their committments. I agree the pre-pay scenes are over-the-top ... and it would be in their best interest to bend some on the prices. I think celebrity movie archives has the ideal setup. You pay a given fee for a given number of MB downloads. No renewals, and when you've used up your 20 bucks worth of viewing, you simply add more. Granted, its a might steep... but the absence of hassle is worth it. I've used this site for years, and I dare say they've made far more money from me, all the while servicing a satisfied customer. | |

I really like the celebrity movie archive system but a Mr skin membership is probably a much better deal if you intend on downloading a lot of content. The biggest problem with streaming only sites or sites that allow you to download clips is that they are always super expensive unless you only do small downloads or only stream part of a scene. I would need to be significantly richer to even consider downloading a full scene at clips4sale. Their prices border on outright theft. Long live the Brown Coats. | |

My sites use CCBill so you always know you can reliably cancel with no problems, but I also offer single month non-recurring members too, so you don't even have to worry about cancelling. However because of a few dodgy sites the good guys can make all the assurances in the world and a proportion of visitors will not believe us, no matter what. Memberships are definitely better value, by a huge margin. What I find weird is that most of my sales on Clips4Sale seem to come from people visiting by website (StripGameCentral) and then following the links to Clips4Sale.
