A Note from Khan Well, not actually from Khan, but rather from me, Rose Ann, his wife.... Just letting all our regular users here at PU know that Khan had to be admitted to the hospital yesterday. He developed an infection which, unfortunately, affected his heart and other body systems. He's doing OK, but they want to keep him a couple of days just to make sure they have his heart stabilized and all parts working well before they let him come home. He said to tell you all that he'll take care of raffle business as soon as he gets back, and for all of you to stay professional and considerate since he's not here to watch over the forum....he knows you'll do just that. Thank you for letting us all know how he is doing. I tell my wife I feel like I am getting old sometimes. She laughs and says, well its better then the alternative.  But seriously, will be in my thoughts. Hes a good guy and does allot for all of us. And keeps many of us outta trouble ( myself included ). Again, thank you all for your continued support and well-wishes. Being home should help the recovery time. I'm still having to take it a little slow but at least I'm away from that hospital. Thanks chief for those kind words......they indeed served to helping me feel better and assured I'm still remembered. Let me, though, qualify my initial statement by saying the long period of my post surgery was not all spent in the hospital. The latter was in re-hab with heavy empathies on getting my faculties back and running. After my cervical fusion, I was found to also have a fractured Lumbar .....another unexpected major item which also had to be addressed surgically.  | |

Hey, old friend, I was tempted a couple of times to send a posse after you but then thought, well, he must have his reasons for staying away, probably the same as mine ... not much to say at the moment ... so I am sorry to hear your reasons were so painful, protracted and serious. I hope you will be able to talk them into prescribing some potent pain relievers to keep you going until you mend. I do know what it is like to live with chronic pain, even though I wouldn't compare it to the more severe pain experienced after major surgery. Have a speedy recovery because I miss you too. | |

Gratitude has taken on a whole new character, one that excels beyond my ability to express it's dimension of praise ..... and it's wholly directed to all the above who have posted herein their well wishes for my recovery. In no small part a contributor, I hasten to add, upon my recent return home where I'm on my feet and becoming steadily Mobile and attending favorably to slowly caring for myself. I'm meeting with my surgeon at the end of this month for my follow-up. My fervent wish is that he'll relieve me of this bulky neck collar, that's been a proverbial albatross creating havoc almost immobilizing my head. Sorry Khan..... didn't mean to steal some of your thunder brought on by this thread..... But it was good timing and an opening to elicit some TLC :=)......and drop the news to say for better or for worse I'm back in Dodge | |
