I always assumed that Europe was closer to where I live than the Rockies, but maybe not! We loved the Alps ourselves and the superhighways in Switzerland, Austria, Germany were excellent. I rented a car each time we visited and enjoyed the German Autobahn especially since they had no speed limits at the time. Mind you the local drivers could be a bit rude with anyone who showed any hesitation because he didn't know his way around and got in their way! I don't know about Switzerland's strangeness when it comes to driving except that they made you pay a fee at their border if you wanted to use their highways. My absolutely favorite spot on this planet is a Swiss area called the "Berner Oberland" (we called it Heidi country).

Hi pat362, that's why I was mentioning "the mountains!" I did have Banff, Lake Louise etc. in mind when I wrote that. Trouble is I live in the Maritimes and except for Quebec City, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg what is there between here and there that would make for an interesting trip? And when it comes to flying directly to Alberta, Europe is actually closer to us and is a clear winner with my wife. She can't see where mountains are any good if they don't have a cluster of charming chalets and medieval towns at their feet. :-)

I'm sure I would love the Rockies but seeing that I live about as far away from them as you could get, visiting there has always been a dream and nothing more. Switzerland is actually closer and is my wife's dream destination so .... ! :-)

No hate mail coming from this quarter, Cybertoad. We're too laid back for that! But you described it perfectly with many places indeed being too few and far between. That's always been my problem. Take a trip to Europe and there is some romantic town (and good food) around every corner. Travel in Canada and there are hours where you don't see a house. The size of this place is overwhelming. I love it because of the proverbial politeness of the average Canadian but if you have to drive two days to see something different .. naw .. I'd just as soon stay home and look at porn!

Tell the truth, I have no great desire to take a vacation in Canada either, there's too many miles of bush and wheat to traverse in order to get where I really long to be: The Mountains! And my SO doesn't particularly care for those either because she's seen the Alps, together with romantic Swiss chalets and quaint medieval towns and, in her mind, nothing will ever beat that!

Trying to keep the subject alive for another day: Okay, guys, here are the facts as I see them: ninety percent of you most likely find the subject of older women boring, while another five percent might find it mildly interesting. But I belong to a very small minority that really has no great interest in women that are younger than my age. I truly believe that a beautiful woman is like a fine wine, she improves with age. I've tried many other sites (see reviews) but they leave me cold very quickly, so .. has ANYONE EVER COME ACROSS A SOLO PICTURE SITE THAT PRIMARILY CONTAINED WOMEN OVER FIFTY? Let me repeat! Please! (Desperation written all over face): Even if it isn't your area of interest have you ever, in your Internet travels, come across any sites out there that are reputable (not some cheap, secondary, neglected MILF site in a network) that would fit the bill? Messmer, still looking and not getting anywhere!! Thank you, brothers!

Yes, you're right, other currencies are suffering as well as prudent investors turn to the one safe bet in uncertain times: the U.S. Dollar. Seems a bit ironic since most of the mess was caused by Wall Street. :-) Ah, well, what goes down must come back up .. I'll just have to exercise some patience and keep my eyes open for specials. And I'll have you know that I didn't vote Conservative so don't anyone in Canada blame me for the dollar's dive! :-)

I am certainly looking forward to some discounted sites and soon, please, because my dollar just lost a quarter of its value during the past couple of months when measured against the US Dollar. The average site has now become too expensive for the average Canadian. I just got finished canceling all my sites to make sure none of them will renew by mistake.

Toadsith, very eloquently reasoned and I am forced to agree with most of what you wrote even though I originally thought that, with the enthusiasm of youth, you threw the baby out with the bath water. See your: "I deny tolerance. Acceptance or nothing at all. Tolerance speaks of a group of people needing the approval of another." :-) The statement seemed too absolute to me .. but reading carefully your second post I am starting to understand what you meant. Communication isn't always easy, is it?

HaHa, a strong statement uttered with the conviction of the young. Tolerance also means recognizing that there are differences in tastes, customs, cultures, morals etc., acknowledging that fact and learning to live with it rather than start wars in a forum, the neighborhood, country or abroad. Not very elegantly put but you know what I mean! :-)

Thanks shooterbo, I will. With a bit of luck it won't be one of those MILF (cougar) sites where they might have older models but for some perverse reason hire all the ones who look young for their age, defeating the purpose of a mature site. It's the young looking ones I want to get away from. I feel like a pedophile every time I look at a model that is almost a third my age. I'm no more interested in her as she would be in me, unless I had money like Croesus or were one of the Rolling Stones! :-) P.S. Added five minutes later: just came back from the site and the first trailer I watched had a woman in her forties seduce the grocery boy. See my remarks to mr.3633. Just for once I'd like to see the man trying to seduce the woman! There are beautiful and desirable fifty years olds (and over)! Probably not to someone in their twenties but some of us are old enough to appreciate maturity. Edited on Oct 21, 2008, 08:16am

I am not averse to videos of mature women, mr.3633, what bothers me with most of them is that they portray the women as being desperate for sex .. as if life stopped at forty and they just sit there waiting for that well-muscled stud to make them feel younger again! In most of the videos at Videobox the cougars practically tear the clothes off anyone who strays within their desperate sphere! See above!

I've probably mentioned this before but are there any picture sites out there with models that are primarily 40+? Preferably 50+? I subscribed to "AllOver30" recently and was disappointed, because they had such a small number of truly mature ladies. "Older Women" and "Aunt Judy's" are disappointments for the same reason. Today I downloaded the sets of the four or five token mature models they feature, now what am I going to do for the rest of the month? After all, I just subscribed to both sites! :-) "Lusty Grandmas" came close but the site was hard core and featured mostly older women who were so desperate for some young meat that they'd practically attack anyone under forty if he happened to be in the neighborhood! <sigh> In desperation I took a tour of "Karup's Older Women" a few minutes ago and gave up on page 7 of their models' list. Good heavens, not an "older woman" to be found among the bunch of them. I realize that "older" is subjective but who except someone in his teens would ever think of a thirty year old as a Cougar or older woman? So, here once again is my desperate plea: has anyone come across reputable sites that might not be listed in TBP or PU that really cater to "mature" tastes? The models don't even have to be beautiful just .... older!! Thank you and apologies for being so lugubrious! :-)

I think many wear the cross because it is one of the most common fashion accessories found in the Western World. In this secular age I doubt if it has a deeper meaning for most. For some it could be a symbol that God loves them just as they are and I don't find that hard to believe since, in my mind and conscience, violence in general and unjustified wars in particular are far greater sins than porn. Might be self-justification on my part but I don't think so. For some it might exhibit their love for God. They have somehow managed to reconcile what they are doing with their God and his laws.

I could never see the aversion to pictures or videos of pregnant women. I think a sexy woman is even sexier when she is pregnant. I believe that, here again, we have a generational divide when it comes to taste. I noticed that those who are thirty or under have a different standard of perfection than those of us over forty, to draw a somewhat arbitrary line. The younger (generalizing) appear to prefer slim, shaved, big breasted, while the older, to use the term loosely, prefer (generalizing again) natural and even find small imperfections (saggy breasts etc.) appealing. The made-up doll look, for them, is not desirable and pregnancy would be an appealing interim look of a normal, healthy woman rather than something that turns off the viewer. My comments are always written with the knowledge that there are exceptions to every rule.

An additional question. For some reason some of my widescreen videos from FTV play in the 4:3 format rather than 16:9. They are definitely HD and definitely widescreen and play that way in wmp. Where is the setting so that this new player will play a video as recorded? Or did I click the wrong button somewhere? :-)

I ran into a site like that last year but CCBill wasn't their agent. It was one of those tempting "cheapo" sites, (don't ever let temptation carry you away because you get exactly what you pay for). $10.00 for one month, not renewable. Halfway down the welcome was a link to "my husband's site," I clicked on it, took in what he had (not much) and then found out at the bottom of the home page that by clicking on that link I had obligated myself to a continuing subscription to his site for $ 24.99 a month. Most of the links on her site didn't work and kept leading you to the sign-up form. The contents I could get at was inferior and could be downloaded within fifteen minutes. No link to support, no link for comments, no link to webmaster, no link to the CCBill equivalent, a company I had never heard of. It took detective work and some luck before I finally got my money back. The email address to the CCBill equivalent was hidden inside the entrance icon and could only be seen if you right-clicked on it. If I hadn't found it by accident I'd be sitting with a new credit card right now. :-) So, buyer beware. After a long, wordy detour: the site that gave me my money back this time appeared to be legit, however limited it may have been. I thought I'd give a true amateur site a shot for a change and was sorely disappointed with their set-up. Their main section was free but had very few good pictures or videos, so I figured by subscribing to the "pay" part which contained more hard core amateur material I'd have myself a complete amateur site. The pay part of the site contained only one month's material, the pictures were still small and blurry with most faces masked, still of inferior quality (true of most amateur sites)and the videos were every bit as bad. Now comes the part that really made me feel I had been cheated. After resting for that month or two in the Pay Partition called "The Vaultz" the material was then shifted to an archive that again required a separate subscription. So if you found a decent looking model you liked in the free section you had to subscribe to two different sections of the site to follow her progress over the months or years. The Price was right but the quality and methods used were not and I let the webmaster know that I thought of their methods as deceptive and misleading and felt I had been scammed. Maybe it was the latter statement that gave me a quick refund because I hear that if there are too many complaints about iffy sites CCBill and Epoch will drop them like hot potatoes. Whew, that was a long-winded one! :-) PS. Looking at my original post .. I lied! It's not the first time I asked for a refund but the second time! I had forgotten all about the one I mentioned above to Drooler. For a good excuse see ... messmer ... profile ... age! :-) Edited on Oct 14, 2008, 06:34pm

It was awesome and totally unexpected to get a refund without protest, that's for sure. Maybe it was because I dropped a few words like deception and cheating and scam when I asked for my money back! :-) In any case, three cheers for the webmaster, she didn't even get angry and offered no resistance!

Subscribed to a crappy site yesterday and realized it within half an hour. I wrote to the webmaster who, to her credit, canceled my account immediately and without protest. I also got in touch with CCBill who told me that my account would be credited with a full refund ... hooray! But one thing has me curious, they also added that it may take 2 - 4 weeks (depending on the bank) before the credit shows up in my account. This is the first time I've ever asked for a refund so I don't know if this is an excessive length of time to have to wait. I will let things take their slow course but am wondering if this is normal?

You can decide which folder to use for the snapshots, www. Just click on tools, then preferences, then videos and you will find the choice near the bottom of the screen that pops up. It also gives you the option to save the snapshops in jpg rather than png.

Found it, thanks Monahan! As to disabling WMP default file associations, see my reply to toadsith. And I know what you mean by hanging on to WMP because you never know what might happen if you try to get rid of realplayer, quicktime and wmp because some web sites demand them and won't accept any substitutes. I thought I didn't need Quicktime any more, uninstalled it, and within an hour found a site that wouldn't let me stream a quicktime movie if I didn't have QT on my hard drive. So, it's back on! :-)

Thanks Monahan, I got the player and love it! One problem though, I associated all formats with my new player but Windows Media Player is hesitant in giving up .mpg and wmv. files. Where on the WMP do I find "associations" so that I can uncheck the two formats. I looked high and low but can't find them. By the way, I realize that I can play the files with the new player by right-clicking and then choosing it but don't want to go through the constant bother. I also saw some replies referring to watching a movie in cartoon effect. How do I do that? Sounds interesting! :-)

Hey toadsith, my personal view is that 15% would still be too large and I prefer my logos on the bottom right because that's the last place I look at. I hardly notice them there ... as long as they are not 15% of the picture then you can't help but notice. I totally agree when it comes to monochrome and translucent. And talking about TV, most Canadian broadcasters have their logos on the bottom right and translucent. Edited on Oct 13, 2008, 07:58am

Thanks for the tip, Khan (and Kevin.) I must say I feel embarrassed after looking at the details concerning the trust votes I cast. I won't elaborate except to say that my memory has been giving me false information concerning this subject. :-) Well, this thread has convinced me of one thing and that is to start using the trust ratings more often. From now on, if I see a review that is well done I will cast a yes vote, if I see a review that's not so hot (too lacking in detail), I'll keep silent, if I see an obvious attempt at deception or something that is hopelessly inadequate I'll cast a no.

Strange, but I never realized the importance of trust ratings until this thread came along. I should have known better because I was quite pleased with the positive trust ratings I got when I first started out, they were a bit of an ego booster, seeing that they came from total strangers, while the one negative rating I got at the beginning took me down because I couldn't figure out the reason behind it. *I* knew I could be trusted! LOL. I basically saw the trust ratings as a good tool to let a shill know that I was on to his game, not realizing that to many it might be a bit of a reward for the conscientious work they put into their reviews. Because I don't know to whom I gave a couple of trust ratings in the beginning I want to let you know that I do trust each and every one of the regular users to give me an honest review of a site. I may not always agree with them but I do trust them. Too bad there are so many of us or I would correct matters by adding a positive trust to each. And I agree with one poster: anonymous ratings, positive or negative, should not be allowed.

I am even willing to consider hc, just give me something that makes me sit up: Wow, that's something I've never seen before. :-) Do you ever use the trial of a siteto help you find something new? Or do you just subscribe hoping that this one is different?

Hey, congratulations on getting a car half-priced. I hope that practice will spread in the months to come because I'm due for a new one. I had my present one for some time. As to subscriptions, I decided the other day to let them all (3) expire without subscribing to any new ones unless I find THE site in the meantime: Female, solo or g/g, 50's, 60's, 70's lingerie, progression from fully dressed to completely naked. There's too much disappointment associated with too many of the ones I've looked at and reviewed lately. Or maybe I'm just getting jaded. :-)

There's a long, deep recession threatening not only North America but Europe and Asia as well. Money will be tight in many homes. Do you think subscriptions to pay sites will go way down or would we rather give up that roast and switch to Kraft Dinners in order to feed the porn habit? I used to ask myself the same question but events during the last week or so make me glad that I have downloaded porn I haven't even looked at yet. One important factor is the value of the American Dollar as measured against my currency, the Canadian Dollar. I've seen MY dollar lose ten percent of its value during the past two weeks, so, if it gets too expensive to subscribe to an American site I'll have all that material on my hard drive that I haven't looked at yet. Number two, as someone else pointed out, one cannot always count on the climate to stay this liberal. There might very well come a time when the pendulum swings back and the whole works will become illegal again. It may not happen but there's always that chance.

Yes, that's been my policy, too. Obvious shills that give you nothing but a couple of glowing lines of recommendation and a 99 in a "review" are my targets, but even then I very seldom bother giving them a negative trust. They are so transparent in their effort to sell a site that I assume anyone with any brain at all can see that.

Thanks, Drooler. I just had to vent a bit over that one because it was unfair in my eyes, and "anonymous" always triggers me, especially when it attacks my credibility/ honesty. In the case of ATK I told it as I saw it, isn't that what a reviewer is supposed to do? There are a couple of other porn icons I find highly overrated and not worth all the nineties they are getting. In my eyes, I must stress! I guess that'll knock another couple of "trust" points off when I get around to reviewing them. :-)

When it comes to trust ratings I think I've just been zapped by someone over a disagreement in taste. He makes a comment that my review was bad without letting me know which review he is commenting on and why he thinks it's bad and then, to add insult to injury he does it anonymously. Does anyone else have problems with "anonymous?"

I think it would also be nice if photographers remembered that many people with widescreen monitors like to look at pictures in 16:9! (complaining about "portrait style" pictures is my hobbby!) :-)

I'm always awed at how quickly you guys respond! Thanks, Khan. You have no idea how much you are doing for this site through your hands-on attitude!

By the way: Khan if you are looking in. I was trying to answer the above through my usual: REPLY W/QUOTE but couldn't do it because a little screen: "Important notification" kept jumping up .. WITHOUT the important notification! :-) Is it you? Is it my updated Firefox? Thanks.

Actually I can't think of anything that's in 4:3 Lots of adult stuff on the web is still in 4:3 though. You either get black bands top and bottom or left and right I imagine whichever screens you have... I prefer 16:9 though!" End of quote Don't I wish I lived in Britain! We are still way behind here in Canada when it comes to programs in 16:9. I subscribe to about 16 High Definition channels on TV and am lucky to get the odd show in widescreen, mostly in Prime Time. As to Porn Sites, that was one of the reasons I subscribed to "In The Crack" and "FTV Girls" because they are now HD and 16:9. I am actively looking for similar sites because on my widescreen monitor, the picture leaves you breathless!

When it comes to reviews I am starting to distrust quite a few of them if they mainly contain numbers and a rating, because I realize more and more what a difference age makes in one's assessment of a site. And I know I've said this before but I think it's important. It is all well and good to say a site has so and so many models, so and so many videos/pictures, download speeds are such and such, but what every review needs (and usually contains) is an honest opinion of what makes the site so desirable to the user. I just wish he/she would provide much, much more of his personal likes, dislikes about the site in the bottom line because the more detail he provides the better for me because that way I can say, naw I think I'll leave this site to someone else. I write this because of my negative experiences with with Twisty's, Galleria and FTV, all sites almost revered by the young! But, to return to the subject, because I recognize that their reviews are honest, reflecting their tastes, they would never get a "dont trust" from me. As I wrote above, obvious shills are a different matter.
