The reviews for Fright Night were very good. I don't know why the movie didn't do better at the box office. I saw the original way back in the 1980s, I think, and thought it was good. Not great, or a major classic, but a nice "B" movie that was enjoyable to watch. From the reviews, the new version seems to be a movie that would be enjoyable as well: A nice "B" movie that would be fun.

The reviews I've read for Conan the Barbarian are terrible. I'm waiting to see it on DVD. I'll pay $1 at Redbox. It doesn't seem worth paying more than $1. The last good movie I saw was Captain America. That is still in theaters, if anyone hasn't seen it, and wants to see a worthwhile action comic superhero movie.

Is Qantas (the air line) listening to PU? Will they now be offering in-flight movies that have been rated outstanding by the PU team? ........... ........... In-flight film "explains" mysteries of female pleasure Reuters By Pauline Askin | Reuters – 2 hours 19 minutes ago SYDNEY (Reuters) - The in-flight entertainment on some planes run by Australian airline Qantas currently contains a somewhat unusual offering -- a movie that purports to elucidate the mysteries of female sexual pleasure. The 50-minute French film "The Female Orgasm Explained," which includes naked scenes, is carried on long-haul "Video on Demand" aircraft in the airline's "The Edge" channel -- complete with a warning that it is for mature audiences only. "In general programs are selected according to quality of content, box office/ratings, topicality and Qantas customer demographics," Qantas said in a statement, adding that programs were screened by their program team before licensing. "With the Edge, we source programs that are out of the ordinary across all genres." Airline crews are able to block content to the seats of minors and at the requests of their parents, it added. The film will be run until November. The choice of film may be a bit risky given the fact that airlines are usually quite careful about what they show, said Catriona Eider, an associate professor at the Department of Sociology and Social Policy, Sydney University. "I think sociologically it's interesting they are showing something that has the potential in that quite confined space to have people say 'Oh, what are you watching?' or shows that might be understood as titillating as porn," she said. But she added that changing social norms mean that off-limit topics have shifted. "'In Sex and the City', the orgasm is something pretty much spoken in everyday levels. It's no longer the taboo subject it was." (Reporting by Pauline Askin; editing by Elaine Lies) (This story was corrected in the final paragraph to change the quote to say “Sex and the City”)

For the technically challenged (which I am a proud member of), why can't some good soul (hint, hint, GoodMrFrosty), put all their porn stash and the porn stash of contributing PU members on a server and make it available as a secret online resource for PU members in good standing? What a great idea! Otherwise, I am staying with external hard drive storage. That is easy to use. It might not be as cheap or efficient as a server. But when I try to add parts to a computer (floppy drive, CD drive, etc.), it's just a waste of time and money, because it just doesn't work.

I guess perverts with an appreciation of natural beauty are an endangered species, like the unicorn. Certainly don't find many porn directors who bother looking for that quality. You get two extremes: glamor, or gonzo. (I'm thinking of gonzo as the "just shoot it, without any makeup or trying to make the model look good or lovely", even if that's not really what gonzo is.) Personal taste is just that. What appeals to one person can be a turn-off for someone else. I think Twistys, DDF and a bunch of other sites overdo the makeup, but that's a conscious decision on their part: they are going for a "sophisticated", "slutty" look. And that's a popular style. I like Metart much more: they try to make the models look better, but usually without glopping on a ton of makeup.

Henry Cavill is the newest Superman, coming to a theater June 14, 2013, in a movie directed by Zack Snyder, the man who gave us 300 and Sucker Punch. If you can't wait for the newest Superman movie, you can catch Henry Cavill (who will play Superman) in Immortals, where he is the hero chosen by the ancient gods to save humanity from an evil king played by Mickey Rourke. Immortals will be released this November.

I'm borderline on whether to see the new Planet of the Apes movie. The previews look good, but I want to read reviews, and then think it over. The same for the new Conan that should be coming soon. Neither one of those movies will be great, but I'm trying to figure whether it's better to wait for the DVDs on them.

Pat362 saw Cowboys and Aliens and liked it, but didn't think it was a great movie. Based on his somewhat lukewarm appreciation (my opinion of what he wrote), I'm waiting to see it on DVD, instead of spending the cash to see it at the movies. But I thoroughly enjoyed Captain America, which I thought was a really fun movie. Pat362 thought it was one of the best comic book movies he's seen in years. I don't know exactly how high I rate Captain America, myself, except that I really enjoyed watching it, and thought the money was well spent. I got into the movie right away, loved the story/plot, the actors were great (Chris Evans, Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving, Stanley Tucci). Thought the props were impressively futuristic (the submarine, the giant airplane, the super-car).

The U.S. government isn't the only one doing an outstanding job of protecting its citizens. Britain is also taking forceful action, sentencing the man who tried to throw a pie at Rupert Murdoch to six weeks in jail. Let's hear it for the anti-pie throwing law enforcerment. Hip, hip, horray! My only question is: why isn't Rupert Murdoch's wife in jail, because she not only hit the pie-man with his own pie, but she slapped him as well. The femdom brute in action, saving her husband from a pie-thrower's assault. ......... ......... Rupert Murdoch Pieman Gets Six Weeks Jail The Hollywood Reporter – 5 hours ago LONDON - Rupert Murdoch's pie-thrower was jailed for six weeks by the City of Westminster Magistrates Court, Tuesday, despite the fact that the News Corp CEO and Chairman had not wanted to press charges. Jonathan May-Bowles, the 26-year old "anarchic comedian" had received a slap and his own pie in his face courtesy of Wendi Deng Murdoch after he tried to pie the News Corp boss at the House of Commons on July 19. After pleading guilty to charges of assault last week, he was ordered to pay a fine and costs totalling $900 at the sentencing hearing. The case was brought by the Crime Prosecution Service, the British equivalent of the District Attorney's office. District Judge Daphne Wickhamtold May-Bowles that Rupert Murdoch's appearance before the committee had been "of huge importance to a number of people deeply affected by the conduct of employees at his organisation," and that his own intervention had contravened the "dignity and civilized approach" of the proceedings. "No-one save you could have known what that foam was. I have to take into account the fear that you caused in that room Lawyers for May-Bowles said the attack had been in the spirit of public protest and had not intended physical harm to the 80-year old News Corp boss. "Slapstick and throwing pies dates back to the 1900s as a recognized form of protest," said defence lawyer Tim Greaves. "He [May-Bowles] intended to express how he was feeling and how he believed the British public were feeling and he sought to do that in the least harmful way he could." Greaves also said that May-Bowles would appeal the prison sentence. Earlier, the court heard that May-Bowles had smuggled the foam pie into the House of Commons inside an old shirt, which he had later discarded. As the tense evidence session in which Rupert and James Murdoch answered questions on phone-hacking - in a hearing carried live by news networks around the world - May-Bowles stunned committee members, Murdoch's bodyguard and onlooking police men by getting alongside Rupert Murdoch and hitting him with the shaving foam pie. Wendi Deng Murdoch, seated behind her husband, saw the attack attempt unfold and launched herself across two people to slap May-Bowles on the head and then hit him with his own pie.

The U.S. government hard at work protecting its citizens by making ISPs retain customer names, addresses, phone numbers, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, and dynamic IP addresses. That information will be easily available to law enforcement, and perhaps attorneys litigating civil disputes in divorce, insurance fraud, and other cases as well. ....................... ....................... http://www.zdnet.com/blog/violetblue/how...risk/590?tag=nl.e539 How The New ‘Protecting Children’ Bill Puts You At Risk By Violet Blue | August 1, 2011, 11:37pm PDT Last Thursday the U.S. House of Representatives’ judiciary committee passed a bill that makes the online activity of every American available to police and attorneys upon request under the guise of protecting children from pornography. The Republican-majority sponsored bill is called the Protecting Children From Internet Pornographers Act of 2011. It has nothing to do with pornography, and was opposed by over 30 civil liberties and consumer advocacy organizations, as well as one brave indie ISP that is urging its customers to do everything they can to protest the invasion of privacy. “Protecting Children” forces ISPs to retain customer names, addresses, phone numbers, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, and dynamic IP addresses. It’s like having your wallet plus the web sites you visit tracked and handed over on request. These logs are now going to be retained for the scope of one and a half years. (I have to wonder if ISPs can sell this data, too.) This has nothing to do with porn. In case you’re like the Reps that passed this nightmare and you’ve forgotten: pornography is legal in the United States. It is pedophilia that is illegal. But for the sake of harnessing hysteria to get a bill passed, clearly these particular Republicans find it convenient to conflate “pornographers” as pedophiles. Last time I checked in on the matter, pedophiles did not operate within the laws surrounding adult pornography. Personally, I’m insulted as a porn-loving American girl to be included by way of consumer participation in this disgusting and misleading characterization. And that my privacy has just been sold for something that doesn’t actually help the children. I don’t feel confident that treating us all like the criminals our system can’t catch is going to protect any children, especially when the people who passed the bill can’t - or won’t - distinguish the difference between legal adult pornography and pedophilia. CNET’s Declan McCullagh reminds us that “the mandatory logs would be accessible to police investigating any crime and perhaps attorneys litigating civil disputes in divorce, insurance fraud, and other cases as well.” CNET reported that mandatory data retention was being fast-tracked in January, 2011. The fact that civil litigants could subpoena your internet activity and the contents of your wallet has nothing to do with the labeled and stated purpose of this bill. “The bill is mislabeled,” said Rep. John Conyers of Michigan, the senior Democrat on the panel. “This is not protecting children from Internet pornography. It’s creating a database for everybody in this country for a lot of other purposes.” Read also: House panel approves broadened ISP snooping bill However, this bill has a provision stating that a court does not need to approve administrative subpoenas used by U.S. Marshals who might use it to ‘track down unregistered sex offenders.’ This received strong arguments against giving Marshals too much power. The Electronic Frontier Foundation spearheaded consumer and privacy groups’ opposition to the bill and hosted a one-click letter-writing campaign. This included the ACLU, the Bill of Rights Defense Committee, Patient Privacy Rights and many more. Because of the way the bill requires information to be collected and stored, the EFF called the bill “ripe for abuse by law enforcement officials” and said that because the laws designed to protect the private data of consumers from government access are insufficient and out-of-date, it creates “a perfect storm for government abuse.” Small ISPs Are Ringing The Alarm While consumer groups opposed it and tech news outlets I trust are spelling out concerns, it was when my own ISP made a blog post that it was clear that this bill isn’t just a problem for privacy proponents. Sonic.net’s CEO Dane Jasper personally posted Help us, protect your privacy online. Today we retain most IP allocation logs for just two weeks; we don’t need them beyond that period, so they are deleted. Storing logs longer presents an attractive nuisance, and would potentially make our customers the target of invasions of privacy. Any lawyer can simply file a Doe lawsuit, draft up a subpoena and request a customer’s identity. It’s far too easy. Do the wheels of justice – or investigation – move too slowly, and should data be retained for a long time to allow for legitimate investigation? No, there are already tools in place that law enforcement can easily use to ask ISPs to preserve log information of real online criminals. The 1996 Electronic Communication Transactional Records Act allows law enforcement to require an ISP to keep data for 90 days upon law enforcement request, giving time for a legitimate search warrant to be reviewed by a judge and issued. The CEO points out that because the bill applies to commercial providers, naturally it won’t catch people pursuing criminal activity, who can simply use public Wi-Fi. Or 4G wireless, such as through a cell carrier. Lifehacker points this out in What You Need to Know About the Internet Snooping Bill (and How You Can Protect Yourself): One nice feature of the PCFIPA of 2011 bill is that it doesn’t include cellular data, so if you’ve thought about switching to 4G wireless data at home you’ll soon have another reason. That’s right: wireless carriers are exempt from having to store all your data and provide it on notice. This is likely because unlike small ISPs such as Sonic, wireless carriers lobbied the bill authors to get out of it. The Department of Justice fought against the mobile exemption. Obviously if someone is going to distribute pedophilia they could do it over a 4G wireless card just as easily as their DSL account, so in a certain context, the wireless carriers have lobbied their way out of the cost burden. That also makes this bill anti-small business, because smaller ISPs like Sonic have to bear the costs, while Verizon and friends, don’t. I think that ultimately, the ones bearing the true costs will be us. And don’t give me that ‘if you’re not doing anything wrong you shouldn’t worry’ line. It’s as ripe as Congressman Weiner’s old line, ‘my account was hacked.’

Perhaps the best solution to this problem would be for all non-perverts to drink cyanide, so that God can put them into a better place where they won't have to associate with perverts. Shit-deflectors on, people.

Is it safe to go out of your house? The world is getting more dangerous by the minute. If you do leave the safety of your home, try to avoid all contact with any people who might be carrying a gun, knife, or other weapon. ................. ................. 4 shot after George Clinton show in Ohio; 1 dies APAP – 2 hours 27 minutes ago CLEVELAND (AP) — A man fired several shots from a handgun during a large fight near an outdoor concert venue featuring funk musician George Clinton, killing one person and wounding three others, police said Sunday. The fight erupted before 10 p.m. Saturday at an intersection near Luke East Park, the venue for the eighth annual Unity in the Park festival. Police didn't have a description of the shooter, and no arrests had been made by midmorning Sunday, Sgt. Sammy Morris told The Associated Press. It wasn't immediately clear how long after Clinton or the other musicians performed that the shooting erupted or what prompted it. Police didn't know if those involved in the fight were among concertgoers leaving the area. "These were younger people, so we're not sure," Morris said. "George Clinton is an older (artist). We're not going to speculate." A 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the head died of his injuries early Sunday, Morris said. He didn't know the conditions of the other three who were wounded: a 20-year-old woman shot in the neck, and a 14-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man each hospitalized with leg wounds. The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported earlier that the two most seriously wounded were in critical condition, and the other two were stable. The newspaper said thousands of people had gathered for the festival, which featured George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic as the headline act.

I just saw a couple photos of Hayley Atwell, the lead girl in Captain America. This girl's bust is large. I doubt it's implants, but she is seriously busty. Which you don't realize how large she is in the Captain America movie, or in most of her photos. She doesn't make a point of emphasizing how large her breasts are, like many actresses would.

One of the Harry Potter movies finally made the $1 billion mark. Good thing, too, because this was the last chance, since this is supposed to be the last movie in the series. Unless they decide to do some prequels, sequels, add-ons, or whatever. Because how can you end a series that is making money? I never got into Harry Potter, though I did see one of the movies. Never read any of the books, though I heard they are pretty good, some say even better than the movies. ................. ................. 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2' Hits $1 Billion in Global Box Office It's the first in the franchise to pass the milestone, doing so only two weeks after its release. By Pamela McClintock | The Hollywood Reporter – 1 hour 34 minutes ago In a fitting farewell to one of the most magical film series in Hollywood history, Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is the first film in the franchise to reach the $1 billion mark worldwide. Deathly Hallows 2 will cross the milestone on Saturday, having grossed $296 million domestically and $630 million overseas through Thursday for a global total of $926 million. Another blockbuster weekend at the multiplex is forecast, allowing the film to easily pass the vaunted $1 billion mark. The movie, benefiting from being released in 3D, is racing past the milestone in about two weeks, a remarkable achievement. Until now, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone overseas) was the top grossing pic in the franchise, having grossed $974.8 million globally in 2001-02. The Harry Potter franchise has always been immensely successful internationally, with every title in the series earning substantially more offshore. So far, 68 percent of Deathly Hallows Part 2’s gross has been earned at the international box office, fueled by standout performances in the U.K., Japan, Australia and Germany. By the end of this weekend, Deathly Hallows Part 2 should surpass Sorcerer’s Stone's domestic gross of $317 million, the best in the series. It also will have surpassed the $659 million earned last year internationally by Deathly Hallows Part 1. Deathly Hallows Part 2 becomes the 9th movie in history to gross north of $1 billion worldwide, a club that includes Warners’ The Dark Knight ($1 billion), Disney’s Alice in Wonderland ($1.02 billion) and Disney’s 2011 summer tentpole Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides ($1.03 billion). Only one film has ever grossed north of $2 billion, and that’s James Cameron’s Avatar ($2.8 billion).

There aren't any local theaters that offer half price, day or night, in my area. There are matinee prices, or senior citizen discount, but that is still $9.00, for a regular movie (3D is an extra $3.00). There are theaters that maybe offer lower special rates, but since the nearest ones are over 20 miles away, the price of gas negates that option. But redbox, which offers $1 movie rentals, is great. That's my usual source of DVDs, except for those I buy off of ebay. If movie theaters dropped their prices way down, which ain't gonna happen, maybe I would watch less porn. Lol.

This sounds somewhat weird. There was a small riot because there are too many people watching the premiere of a documentary in Los Angeles. This happened at the Grauman Chinese Theater in Hollywood, a world famous movie theater. "Police estimated about 2,000 people were inside the theater to catch the premiere of a documentary about the Electric Daisy Carnival rave." It's been many years since I've been inside Grauman's Chinese Theater, but I find it amazing that 2,000 people could fit inside that theater. I mean, this is a movie theater, not a concert hall or coliseum. "There were people trampling all over the police cars, smashing the windows," said Greg Magda, who works at a coffee shop on Hollywood Boulevard. What happened sounds more like the scene from a movie than real life. Weird. ------------------------- ------------------------- Crowd clashes with LA police outside film premiere By JACOB ADELMAN - Associated Press Writer | AP – 5 hrs ago LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police in riot gear clashed with a crowd that became unruly outside a Hollywood film premiere Wednesday evening, throwing bottles and vandalizing cars and refusing orders to disperse after they were forced to leave an overcrowded theater, authorities said. "''There were people trampling all over the police cars, smashing the windows," said Greg Magda, who works at a coffee shop on Hollywood Boulevard. The chaos erupted around 5:40 p.m. after a Los Angeles Fire Department inspector determined Grauman's Chinese Theatre, where the film was screening, was overcrowded, department spokesman Brian Humphrey said. Police estimated about 2,000 people were inside the theater to catch the premiere of a documentary about the Electric Daisy Carnival rave. An unknown number of people were pushed out into the streets, joining a growing crowd that may have been drawn to the event from a Twitter message by a popular DJ known as Kaskade who said there'd be a block party. Officers ordered hundreds of people to disperse, but the crowd refused and began throwing objects, Officer Karen Rayner. Additional officers were called to the scene and were able to control the crowd several hours later. Two people were arrested for investigation of felony vandalism; three police cars were damaged, Rayner said. No injuries were reported. A section of Hollywood Boulevard was shut down and a subway station under the famous theater and the next-door Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex was closed during the disturbance. Kaskade, who is featured in "Electric Daisy Carnival Experience" and has more than 90,000 followers on Twitter, later sent tweets urging for peace. "Everybody CHILL OUT!!! The cops are freaking out. BE SAFE AND LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!" he wrote. The DJ was scheduled to appear at a party after the screening. Pasquale Rotella, whose Insomniac Events promotion company puts on the annual electronic music festival, said the block party had nothing to do with the film premiere. "The crowd issues that arose were a result of individuals responding to social media information, which mistakenly led them to believe they could see artists perform," Rotella said in a statement. He said the street closure caused him to miss the premiere of a film that he produced. Elvin Romero said he came to listen to Kaskade after he saw the event listed on Facebook. "There were just people chilling in the street," Romero said. "It all just got out of hand. Police tried to clear them out and that's when the trouble happened." Ryan Hoepfner, 14, of Gainesville, Texas and his stepfather Mike Cooper watched the disturbance unfold across the street, from the eighth floor of the Roosevelt Hotel. Hoepfner said there were several hundred people in the street, some wearing lingerie and elaborate chandelier hats when it appeared that a fight broke out. "There was a fight in the middle. Then ... people started throwing stuff," Hoepfner said. The rave was the focus of controversy in Los Angeles after a 15-year-old girl died of a drug overdose at the two-day event held in June 2010 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The death prompted officials to issue a brief moratorium on raves. Insomniac moved the event to Las Vegas this year.

I thought Kate Beckinsale was absolutely stunning when she first started out. She is still gorgeous, but I started watching her back in the 1990s, when I noticed her in Cold Comfort Farm and Shooting Fish. I also saw her in The Last Days of Disco, Brokedown Palace, The Golden Bowl, Pearl Harbor, the Underworld series(vampire/werewolf movies) and other things. But when she first started out, perhaps it was partly the roles she played, she was adorable, lovely, luscious, someone you just wanted to sink your teeth into. I can see that Hayley Atwell could be considered attractive. But especially in this role for Captain America, I think you would break some teeth if you tried sinking your teeth into her. Kate Beckinsale was just absolutely yummy, especially when she was just starting. Even more so than Jessica Alba or Jessica Biel, the latter two of which are lovely women, but they don't have the special appeal that Kate Beckinsale had at the start. Like I said, it's probably partly because of the roles each woman played. That can be a part of their appeal, at least to me.

On the other hand, not referring specifically to the original question, there are many sites where the quality of the photos is very poor. So whether those photos have a zip option or not, I think very few people would want to download those photos.

For me, Captain America was a great movie. Even though I basically knew what was happening (from a dim recollection of reading the comics many years ago), I liked the plot, the background story, the actors, Chris Evans, Stanley Tucci, Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones, etc. There were some nitpicks: I didn't find the girl friend played by Hayley Atwell that attractive. Jessica Biel or Jessica Alba or a bunch of other actresses would have been more appealing. However, near the end of the movie, when Hayley Atwell was leaking tears because she thought her boyfriend wouldn't show up for their date, I almost felt tears starting to leak from my own eyes. It made me wonder if I needed some psychological counseling, because I'm too old to be crying over some cartoon character who's tough as nails. I'd be scared to get into a fight with this broad, she'd rip me apart. And I'm leaking tears for her? I felt bad for the Hugo Weaving character, Red Skull. He has all these great inventions: underwater submarine, ray guns, super airplane, super car, and he barely gets to use them. Hugo Weaving is super bad and super evil, but he really should get the chance to knock Captain America around a lot more. I hope (but doubt) Red Skull will be coming back in future pictures. I mean, this is a guy with intelligence, and drive, and anger, and hate, and ambition, and he deserves the chance to shine and show us all what he can really do. Edited on Jul 27, 2011, 04:47pm

I am glad Nicolas Cage will be playing a state trooper in an upcoming movie. It would make me a little nervous if he was playing the serial killer. I like Cage as an actor, but I sometimes wonder if the weird roles he sometimes plays are making him a little weird himself. .................................. .................................. Cage to star in film about Alaska serial killer ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — The story of the police investigation of infamous Alaska serial killer Robert Hansen is headed to the big screen. Variety reports Nicolas Cage will star in "Frozen Ground." Filming is scheduled to start Oct. 10 in Anchorage. Cage will portray the Alaska State Trooper who investigated the murders that gripped Anchorage in the 1970s and 1980s. Hansen was an Anchorage baker at a time when vice ruled the streets in the heady days during construction of the trans-Alaska pipeline. In 1984, Hansen confessed to killing 17 women and raping another 30 over the previous 12 years. He received a 461-year sentence. The Alaska Film Office confirmed to the Anchorage Daily News on Wednesday the film is about to receive pre-approval for state tax credits for filming in Alaska.

There are some web sites that do not offer zip files for their photo sets. The usual given reason is that this discourages piracy. I doubt that not offering zip files stops a lot of piracy. And it can make it much harder for subscribers to download their photos. I personally like zip files for photo sets, and much prefer the sites I join to offer a zip file option.

Be careful with the pizzas. I eat them too often, put on the pounds, and at my age, the pounds won't come off. So the older I get, the more I weigh. Ugh. The iPad is supposed to be useful and a lot of fun when you get used to it. I've never had the extra cash to buy one. Hope you get some use from it, even if it's just for games and whatnot. Because they aren't cheap. That was a lovely gift from your wife, even if you don't know what it's for yet.

If you studied U.S. history, you would realize that the U.S. Congress has had a long and (dis)honorable alliance with rimjobs and any and all forms of prostitution. The Congress prefers to keep that alliance private, but every so often it gets into the news as a "shocking" development. The uptight image of Congress is more of a public relations snow job than an actual view of their personal behavior. Just my 2 cents worth.

Capn, it sounds like you're too late to get a free set of tires from Goodyear for a permanent tattoo. But if I hear of a similar offer, do you want me to pass it on to you?

http://www.financeispersonal.com/2007/12...-in-the-process.html Get Paid to Get a Tattoo (And Sell Yourself Out to Corporate America in the Process) December 27th, 2007 • Related • Filed Under • by ACN Staff If you’re young, broke, and desperately need money, what do you do? Conventional wisdom would indicate that going out and getting a job would be the smart thing to do, but instead some people are taking drastic measures by selling advertising real estate on their skin! People are connecting with advertisers and having temporary tattoos placed on their body with the advertiser’s corporate logo, and apparently it’s making them some decent money. A new unique online community has been created called LeaseYourBody.com. On the site, you can designate a certain dollar amount that you’ll accept to place a temporary tattoo on your body and then post it to your personal profile. You’ll also designate where you are willing to accept tattoos on your body. Advertisers can then logon, select the candidates they like, submit their ad and make a payment. You’ll then be able to accept or decline the tattoo. If you accept it, the temporary tattoo will be sent to you in the mail and then you verify it with them and you’ll get a check in the mail. This new community isn’t the first instance of selling advertising real estate on your body. For a while Goodyear was offering a free set of tires to anyone who would get a permanent tattoo! There have also been instances where individuals have contacted companies and gotten a significant chunk of change to get a permanent tattoo on their body. Getting money for placing temporary tattoos on your body is certainly not for everyone, but if you already have a few tattoos and want to make some extra money, it’s an option.

In some of my reviews I tend to ramble. And I often find when writing a review that I go over the limit on the pros, or the cons, or the bottom line, and I have to reduce the word count. Editing can be a pain. Sometimes I have to leave out details or opinions I would like to keep. So I am glad that at least part of the review has increased limits for word count. That makes it easier for me to write a review.

Not sure how I missed it, but this man is sneakier than he appears. Might be useful in wartime or attacking from the rear? I'm sure he will wear it proudly with his purple hearts, naval commander wings, and other righteous military decorations. Belated congratulations to a solid member of the PU community: providing solid reviews, useful comments, intelligence and courtesy.

I was thinking of seeing this movie anyway, but your recommendation was the tipping point. And if Captain America is not as good as I am hoping for, expect a bill collector to be knocking on your door (or Internet account, maybe) sometime this week. Forewarned is forearmed! Amy Winehouse dead at 27. Not a shock, given her history, but what a waste. ------------------------------------- ------------------------------------- Report: Singer Amy Winehouse found dead By the CNN Wire Staff July 23, 2011 1:30 p.m. EDT London (CNN) -- Singer Amy Winehouse was found dead at her apartment in London Saturday, the UK Press Association reported. She was 27. London police said they were called to a home, which matches Winehouse's address, Saturday afternoon in response to "a woman found deceased." "On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene," a police statement said. "At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained," police said. The "Rehab" singer had a history of battling drugs and alcohol and recently left a British rehabilitation program that a representative said was intended to prepare her for scheduled European concerts. But she cut short the European concert tour in Belgrade, Serbia, last month after she staggered around the stage and stumbled through several songs. Audience members booed Winehouse off the stage that night just a few songs into the first concert of the tour. Winehouse rep Tracey Miller told CNN at the time that the singer "agreed with management that she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home." "Everyone involved wishes to do everything they can to help her return to her best and she will be given as long as it takes for this to happen," representative Chris Goodman said in a statement in May. Winehouse's throaty vocals brought the British musician stardom in 2007, but her off-stage life gained her notoriety. The lyrics of her songs, especially the hit "Rehab," chronicled her troubled life. The song, in which she sang "They tried to make me go to rehab, I said no, no, no," helped form the public's view of Winehouse. "I don't care enough about what people think of me to conform to anything," she said in a CNN interview. Winehouse, born in London in 1983, became a picture of a tattooed teenage rebel after she was expelled from a prestigious performing arts school. Her first album, "Frank," debuted in 2003, when the singer-songwriter was 19. International success came with her 2007 album "Back To Black," which in included the single "Rehab."

Not strictly Hollywood, but maybe they could make a movie about Sarah Palin speaking for sex abstinence, against sex education for teenagers, and against the distribution of contraceptives in schools paid for by tax dollars. At the same time her daughter got pregnant without being married, and her son knocked up a girl he was not married to. They could call the movie, "The Human Comedy". Or perhaps, "Do Politicians Need To Be Taught Hypocrisy, Or Are They Just Born That Way Naturally?" ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- Sarah Palin's Views on Abstinence Lead to Second Grandchild Yahoo! Contributor Network By K.C. Dermody | Yahoo! Contributor Network – Thu, Jul 21, 2011 COMMENTARY | Sarah Palin is known for her strong beliefs against sex before marriage. She is staunchly opposed to sex education for teenagers as well the distribution of contraceptives in schools paid for by tax dollars. In September 2008, Sarah's 17-year-old daughter Bristol announced that she was five months pregnant while her mother continued to support beliefs that obviously do not work within her own family. That year she also voted to cut funding to a program that helped support teen mothers, according to the Washington Post. In the ultimate hypocrisy, Bristol went on to earn more than $260,000 in 2009 as an advocate against teen pregnancy while at the same time admitting that abstinence was not realistic. In a not so surprising turn-of-events, the news that Sarah's son Track is expecting a baby with his wife Britta was just released Thursday. Pictures of the new bride posted on Facebook show that she is rather obviously expecting, while her marriage took place just two months ago. The quick ceremony prompted many to ask whether Britta was pregnant, but supporters of conservative Sarah became extremely upset, continuing to argue that the new couple was not expecting. It certainly seemed like a shot-gun wedding, and today it was finally confirmed that the pregnancy came before the marriage. Track apparently did not listen to his mother's or sister's advice, and I wonder how long it will be before the rest of the Palins are multiplying faster than a calculator. People said the family has not responded to a request for a comment in regard to the pregnancy. Rosie Pope, star of the Bravo show "Pregnant in Heels," said of Britta's posted pictures, "In my opinion it looks like she is more than four months along, as it is not customary to have a baby shower so early in a pregnancy and first-time moms usually take longer to pop," according to the New York Daily News. The Palins make an excellent example for the latest research on abstinence education. The National Sexuality Resource Center's Sexuality Research and Social Policy completed a recent study that showed abstinence-only education does not delay or prevent teens from having sex. These same programs that Palin and many other conservatives support have received $1.5 billion in federal funding. The editor of the academic journal of SRSP, Brian Devries, stated, "Sex educators know. Teens know. Parents know. And the research shows it. When will our policies and interventions reflect what science, research and best practices demonstrate? We need comprehensive sexuality education that is truly comprehensive." With a second premarital pregnancy in the Palin family, how much more proof do our hypocritical politicians and ultra conservative right-wing Christians need?

In the upcoming remake of Total Recall, the director, Len Wiseman, put his wife, Kate Beckinsale, in the role of the evil fake wife played by Sharon Stone in the earlier version with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Paul W.S. Anderson just put his wife, Milla Jovovich, in the role of the evil M'lady De Winter in the upcoming remake of The Three Musketeers. I know that directors sometime marry these gorgeous women: Len Wiseman and Kate Beckinsale Paul W.S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich My question is why the directors put their lovely wives into the roles of villains? Who often get killed off? Is this some secret wish on their part, a prelude to dumping the wife for someone else? It's cheaper to kill them off, instead of paying alimony.

They turned Conan into a ninja-style super fighter. I guess it comes from watching all those Asian Kung fooey chop sockey movies. I've been watching them since the 1960s myself, but it still seems a little strange watching Conan turn into a ninja-style fighter. But the upcoming The Three Musketeers, that I saw a preview for, by Paul W.S. Anderson (director/producer of the Resident Evil films), is also a ninja-style action movie with outlandish weaponry and gimmicks. Anderson stuck his wife Milla Jovovich in The Three Musketeers. Milla plays the baddie M'lady De Winter. I'm kind of in love with her, good or bad. So I'll probably see it in the theater. Ron Perlman seems to be a major goto guy for horror/violent action/period movies. Hellboy, Beauty and the Beast, etc. http://www.aintitcool.com/node/50456

Interesting quote by Bill Condon, the director of the final 2 Twilight series movies. Fans cannot get enough of Twilight, but Bill Condon (the director of the final 2 Twilight series movies) does not blame critics for being out of step with popular taste by trashing the movies. "I would say absolutely not," Condon said. "That's their job, to hold to their standards and their sense of movie history, and no, I have never thought there should be a correlation between success and how it does critically." .................. .................. So if there is no correlation between commerical success and critical scores, what is the value or meaning of a review? At one time I read movie reviews to try to see if I might enjoy a movie or not before spending my money to see it at a theater. But I have learned, after many disappointments, that most movie reviews are a poor guide to whether I will enjoy a movie. In a similar vein, I read PU site reviews to see whether a site might be worth my subscription dollars. But what good are movie or book reviews if they don't give you a good idea of whether you will enjoy a movie or book? As a non-professional movie watcher and non-professional book reader, I don't usually read a review to try to understand the meaning of a movie. I just want to know if I will enjoy the movie or book, if it's worth spending my time and money on the movie or book. Bill Condon is not a hack. He won an Oscar for writing the screenplay for Gods and Monsters, a movie about James Whale, the director of Frankenstein. He was also nomimated for an Oscar for his screenplay for Chicago (the musical). He is a movie professional, but if his thought is that there is no correlation between reviews and commercial success, what correlation is there supposed to be between reviews and whether a reader of those reviews will enjoy a movie or book? Am I wrong in thinking that a large part of the value of a review was whether the reader would enjoy the movie or book being discussed?

Wow! 3 TB hard drive. You have to keep watching the news or ads to see what's going on. I bought a 2 TB hard drive late last year, and now a 3 TB is priced just a small amount higher than what I paid for my 2 TB. Prices keep dropping, and that's great. What's amazing is that I've almost filled that 2 TB drive up with porn. I really need to weed out the bad stuff to make room for new downloads. I'd be LOL, except it's hard work weeding out the old stuff. It's easier to just keep downloading and downloading. It's like a fix or something.

I've been a member of Fame Digital several times, and I was never charged any extra fees beyond the basic membership (except for one time I got dinged with a pre-checked cross-sell that I tried to cancel within minutes of signing up, but I was unable to have the charge reversed by the customer help line). Maybe this is something new, but I never had any problem about an unwanted extra membership (aside from that one pre-checked cross sell, which cost me less than $2 for a 3-day trial membership). If I were you, I'd call the customer service toll-free telephone number and try to have the charge for DVDBox reversed. If that doesn't work, I'd have your credit card company reverse the charge, because the charge was not done with your consent. I didn't fight my $2.00 charge because the amount was so small. I think it was less than $2.00 for a 3-day trial membership.

Lately I've been having a problem with some files (videos) that were partial downloads. I would download a video file, and play it, and the video would stop playing long before it was supposed to. I use Firefox 5.0. It turns out that the file size is much smaller than it's supposed to be. This is a new problem for me. I don't know if the problem is because of Firefox, or what. If the problem continues, I might try re-installing an earlier version of Firefox to see if that will fix the problem. I almost never use Microsoft Explorer. The only times I use Explorer is if I can't load the Firefox browser, which has happened a few times lately. But my overall experience is that Firefox is much less of a problem to use than Explorer.

I am jealous that you had power in the days of the 86. I've always felt that I was like a dog chasing its own tail in the tech world of PCs. And my tail just keeps shrinking as I get older. I thought things were supposed to get easier as computers "improved". But you couldn't prove it by me. As far as IPad, I've heard of them, but am still trying to learn my notebook. Too many new things would jumble my brain. Edit: Since I am a cat person, feeling like a dog chasing its own tail is a strange experience, better avoided.

I didn't realize it at the time, back when I was reading comics in my pre-teen and teen years, but Captain America became a super-hero because he was injected with drugs (steroids, I assume, which have since been outlawed by all the major sports associations). Why is he still a hero, when people who take illegal drugs are supposed to be bad? But I think I will see this in the movies, when it comes out July 22. I hope it will be one of the better super-hero movies, because I haven't seen any good super-hero movies in over a year. I enjoyed Kick Ass, but that was not really a super-hero movie. I'm not sure if Captain America is a super-hero, because he doesn't have any super powers. Except he is a hero sort of like Batman, who doesn't have any super powers either. But I think Captain America and Batman are super heroes, even if they don't have any super powers.

From a news article posted last year: "Gonorrhea is the second most commonly reported infectious disease in the United States. In 2008, there were 336,742 official cases, but this number, the most recent available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, may vastly underestimate the true number." I never paid much attention to health news. I had assumed that STD (except for HIV) were diseases that had mainly been controlled. But that was obviously incorrect.
