Question: are they a network in the usual sense? Last time I looked you had to subscribe to each site of theirs separately. Have they changed that or did I misunderstand their policy in the first place? Kink.com is great for quality and originality and if it was a true network (subscribe to one and get the other sites with it for the same price) I'd subscribe in a minute.

You know, this has been baffling me too, Pat. When exactly did the shift take place? It sneaked up on me and quite frankly I didn't even know that women shaved/waxed their pubes as a routine until I seriously got into Porn about two years ago. Is it porn only or does the average woman shave as well? Being monogamous I haven't had a chance to compare. :-)

Hey, E! I would really miss you if you ever left this forum. I've always enjoyed your contributions and I never found them too long, possibly because English is my second language as well and you helped me see things a bit clearer by your detailed explanations of various subjects. :-) So, please don't get out of the PU habit once your family hits Florida, I enjoy your company too much. I, too, wish to add my condolences when it comes to your friend and mentor. It's got to be tough but with your positive attitude you'll adapt and go on.

I don't know if anyone my age found hair in an arm pit gross but leg hair was definitely out, at least in Canada. Imagine my shock when I visited my sister in Germany twenty years ago and found that no female in the family shaved their legs. So it is indeed cultural. Of course, many things change in twenty years, so Europe might have gone for the shaved look in the meantime as well.

With multiple sites you will get that, Capn. I subscribed to a mature site because the odds of getting "hair" and sexy lingerie are greater when it comes to older women (if they are matched to a mature photographer) and got all kinds of teenie and glamour sites with it in all their bronzed, glistening and shaved glory ... just what I didn't want. I could see a network having a lot of success if all their sites stuck with the theme of the main site.

Here's another old man speaking out in defense of that lovely bush. I know there was a time when very few women shaved because they would have been mortified if they had had to explain to a doctor or nurse why they had done that, and, all of a sudden, (almost overnight .. to me) it's become a fetish. You'll find various posts of mine throughout this forum and in some reviews defending the natural look. I subscribed to ATK Natural and Hairy more often than to any other site until most of their photographers let me down by being too repetitious and by forgetting to put enough lingerie on their models. But, of course, now the natural look is "shaved" and a lot of our users tend to express outright disgust at the thought of an unshaved pussy. The times they are a'changing and I think we might have to get used to that because I, as opposed to you, don't see any resurgence of natural and hairy as something "normal" anywhere. BTW, having looked at your profile, our tastes seem to match. :-)

I know, I have been searching, don't think I haven't. My problem is that with most sites, even the good quality ones, you're caught up too soon and then are reliant on the daily update(s)which might or might not be good. I like All Over 30 but am all caught up. I like Anilos, still subscribing to it, but waiting for that daily update now because after two subscriptions I have all my favorites on my hard drive. And so it went with other sites as well. So, start reviewing some sites I've never heard of. Preferably one with mature models in mature lingerie. :-)

Regrettably, I have to agree with you, RB. Going way back to my youth I always seemed to be a "friend" to all the girls I liked while the guys that treated them like shit had all the success. It was so bad that I wrote to my mother after I had left home: "I think you gave me the wrong advice when you told me to always be a gentleman! Girls don't look for gentlemen, they prefer the "dangerous" types." Told you I was very young at the time. :-) As to all the gagging and spitting and slapping, with someone like Kelly Wells or Amber Rayne or Sasha Grey (already mentioned) I am sort of fascinated by their going overboard like that because they appear to do it enthusiastically. With most others I steer away from scenes like that because I find them abusive.

Aw, Squirrel, I still miss you. I understand the principled stand you take but wish you would make an exception with a forum/site that is in the business of reviewing pay sites. How could they act any other way? It's their livelihood. Let yourself down for once and come on back! :-)

I was thinking along the same lines, RB. I've been wanting to review a site that hasn't been done to death, but have been looking for weeks for one that deserved my thirty bucks. There just aren't that many sites with mature models wearing attractive lingerie under their dresses. :-(

This happened to me quite a few times when I was still subscribing to the usenet, Melissa. When I first started lurking in some of the news groups that interested me the most I always found a core of posters that seemed like a clique because they had their in-jokes and an easy familiarity with each other from long acquaintance. But as I kept responding to some of the subjects that interested me I found myself readily accepted as one of them! The real nice thing about this forum is the fact that I haven't seen a single flame in connection with any poster except for the ones who came with a not so hidden agenda. Your presence would be valuable in other respects as well, as a web mistress you would get the feel of what PUs like and dislike and could pass it on to photographers and videographers which would help us as well as a site.

I'm definitely here! It wouldn't be a proper day if I couldn't make my way to the forum. I just hope there's no Brutus waiting behind a column somewhere. I agree that we need new blood and more participation by some of our members. I've voiced enough personal opinions over the months and would love nothing better than to respond to something new and different instead of beating each subject that interests me to death! :-) So, come on in, lurkers. We won't bite, even our pit bull and German shepherd won't, we'd be really happy to see your contributions.

Just downloaded a set of pictures where the model has been handed a pair of glasses that still have that little round price sticker attached to the upper right lens (as in cheap reading glasses). She wears that sticker all through the set. Strange that no one noticed. They must have been in an awful hurry to complete that shoot. :-) Any other bloopers you've come across?

I find that any shooting done in the U.K. is usually quite good because much of it is being done with a bit of humor and bantering with the model. Sadly, we appear to be stuck (mostly) with the "anally retentive big-heads" on this continent. The usual pre-scene interview: "What's your name? How old are you? Is this the first time you do porn? What was your first sexual experience and how old were you? Okay, stand up. (Sounding like a drill sergeant now). Take off your top! Now your jeans/daisy dukes/skirt! No, not that way, turn around so that we can see your butt." Models as objects and they react accordingly. If they keep smiling they are very good actresses because they are being treated like slabs of meat being graded.

Thank you, thank you .. that's definitely what I wanted to hear. I kept thinking that maybe during boot-up the computer would end up looking for something in the USB Ports that isn't there and throw a hissy-fit. That's how much I know! :-)

Thanks, Colm4, I've had three externals sitting here .. disconnected .. until I got a definitive answer from someone on how Externals and my computer interact. I am glad I waited a bit. Still would like to know if I could keep them connected to my USB ports when they are not powered up. That would save me the trouble of having to crawl behind my desk every time I want to use them, or connect them all to the front USB ports and be faced with an unsightly tangle of wires. Also (because I just read about bandwidth alloted to each USB connected device) am I overloading anything if I run all three externals at the same time. I sorta like to roam back and forth between them.

Thanks, Badandy. I have three WD MyBook externals. If I plug them into the USB ports and leave them plugged in all the time and simply pull the power supply plug when I don't need them will that do any harm to anything? THAT is basically my concern, that and what would happen if they were plugged into the power supply already when I have to re-boot the computer for some reason. Does one (the externals) affect the other (the computer) negatively, do you think?

I'm not so much worried about an external going bad on me even though I'd lose part of my collection. I was wondering if the externals could somehow damage the motherboard or hard drive of my computer if I leave them plugged into the USB ports all day. At night I hit the power switch on that surge bar and everything is turned off anyway so, no need to disconnect. It all worked beautifully for me for a long time, but for my computer to give up its ghost one day after I transfered a ton of data to my newest external makes me wonder if one effects the other adversely somehow. Could three externals plugged into a USB port give the machine too much of a shock on booting up? All those questions, most of them probably stupid. They would have never entered my mind if my Acer hadn't packed up on me so prematurely. BTW, the 2 WD MyBook 500 GB externals are running very cool and quietly and reliably, so far, as opposed to a 250 Gig external I had that was always hot to the touch.

Thanks, RB. I guess there's more to working with external drives than I expected. I kept them hooked up for convernience's sake all the time the computer was one. Once in a while |'d remove one by simply pulling the plugs and it didn't seem to do any harm but I just installed a terabyte WD MyBook drive which made it three external drives altogether and I was wondering if that could have caused damage to my computer. All I got yesterday morning when I booted up was the initial screen and, after that, nothing. The technician I talked to suspected a hard drive failure but now I'm nervous about external drives till someone reassures me that they don't damage the operating system. This may sound stupid but I know more about software than the actual workings of a computer.

Is there a danger to my system if I a) leave all external drives hooked up to my system or b) if I remove them without clicking on the Icon (bottom right of Vista screen) that reads: "Safely remove external storage unit." ?? Badandy help! Messmer writing from a new computer, wondering if he caused the disaster by leaving all external drives hooked up as a convenience. The old one (just a month over the warranty period) gave up its ghost this morning. Diagnosis hard drive failure. :-(

I think there's quite a difference, maybe not when it comes to judging a model's beauty but in smaller things. I've seen too many times when a younger member expressed revulsion at the thought of pubic hair. There's also the easy acceptance of thongs as underwear :-) and pantyhose as erotic and worthy of being a fetish. And, when it comes to hardcore videos, read some of the comments where younger members confess that they like Video Box because it allows them to make up their personal clips that leave out most of the action leading up to the "money shot." I rest my case! :-)

A small correction, health care is in the hands of the Provincial Governments. The Federal Government contributes a certain percentage of the money towards universal care, they don't run it. As a matter of fact they are responsible for the present waiting times because they cut their contributions to the bone over a period of years. Because we have a minority conservative government that has to be more responsive to people's needs or they put themselves in danger of getting kicked out, steps have finally been taken to correct this unacceptable situation. But even then nobody was kept waiting if the operation or treatment was considered urgent. I know my wife never was. Even the woman who was used by the American right was in no danger of dying if she had to wait. She simply was scared (for which I don't blame her) and ran south.

This is what makes me crazy! Just watched the news again where people wail and howl and cry and protest in town hall meetings and see the proposed Health Care changes in the U.S. as a diabolical plot by Obama and the left and here we have someone in emotional and physical turmoil over cancer who has to wait past her time because she doesn't have the money required up front. An excerpt from Pink Panther's copied article: "Swift's mother works at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica, Calif., and she plans to be treated there. "I've been getting consultations over there and I've elected to do a full double mastectomy, because I don't want to go through this again," Swift said. "I'm on emergency status right now. You're supposed to be operated on no more than a month after you're biopsied, and it's been three. "The reason I'm waiting for my surgery is that they want so much up front." And there we have people who are howling "Marxism" when someone is trying to correct that sort of inhuman, heartless greed. And they got the nerve to mock the British and Canadian systems of universal care. Man, something stinks. Good luck, Stephanie! And sorry to bring politics into the picture once again.

I often wonder if half of the male porn "stars" aren't ex-cons because of the steroid look combined with heavy tattoos? They are mostly featured in anal videos which would suggest preferences acquired in a prison environment. :-)

When it comes to taboos I think the Oedipus Complex is much more prevalent than is commonly assumed. Kristen's Archives on ASSTR had a poll once on the same subject and a sizable minority of the respondents stated that they would be turned on if they saw their mothers on one of those sites or on a Cam show. This makes David just a bit more honest than many others who would feel the same way if they came across a similar situation. Edited on Aug 13, 2009, 04:04pm

You are so right. At the moment I have an overlapping membership to both Video Box and Videosz and the updates are boring on both site: anal ... anal ... anal! And I switched from photography to videos because photography was gettting too bland. :-( There's not enough niche content on any of the sites except maybe on American Vice and they don't update often enough to make a recurring subscription worthwhile.

I agree with you when you say a lot of the new porn is boring and repetitious. When I saw the latest updates on Video Box and Videosz today my reaction was: "The guy is probably naked and the girl has some skimpy clothes on. Then they do anal after which he'll ejaculate on her face. The end." Anal appears to be in, good for the anal fans, but I can't wait until all of them are sated and bored with the subject and we move on to the latest whatever that may turn out to be. There has been a lot of complaining in this forum under a variety of subjects about the boredom factor when it comes to porn. I don't think we've come up with an answer yet, except maybe with a guess that many of us have seen too much of it and are getting jaded. But I'm not sure that's really the case. Just like Hollywood, Porn producers are incurable imitators and if something proves to be a hit they all climb on the bandwagon and imitate away. I have the same problem when it comes to pictures. I truly can't find a picture site that suits me these days because the photographers all seem to shoot the various scenes with the model on the run: "Don't bother putting on underwear we're in a hurry and have at least four shoots planned for the day. We're doing "office" for this shoot, so here's a jacket and skirt, don't bother with the rest, so we get forty pictures of a jacket clad model and then she takes it off and is naked. The kitchen scene comes next, okay, here's your apron, give us a couple of shots showing your behind, maybe a couple with your breasts showing as well, then take off the apron. Okay, on to lingerie, we got a bra and panties somewhere. O yeah, here they are. The bra is rhinestone spangled, the panties are black cotton but who cares, it does qualify as lingerie. Almost finished, here's the last set of the day: a set of you in a gown. Just slip it on, for Pete's sake, we're paying you by the hour, never mind bra or panties or stockings, the guys aren't interested in those things. So, once again, we have forty pictures of a lady in a gown then she pulls it off over her head and once again the rest of the set is complete nudity. Really exciting stuff! Not! Take notice All Over 30, Aunt Judy's, Older Women, Karups Older Women. Please!!! To their credit All Over 30 just sent their photographers out to buy some sexy underwear in response to their users' longing to get the tease factor back into the picture, so maybe someone is listening. We hope.

Thanks for the tolerance and moral support guys. It is a sensitive subject and I expected some flak from some of my American friends. Looks like Porn Users are nothing but a bunch of LIBERALS! All kidding aside I knew a Baptist Pastor who confided in me one day, at a funeral, that he was more comfortable in the company of sinners than that of saints because they are kinder and less judgmental. I believe him! :-) P.S. I recognized the humor when you called us all socialists, turboshaft, I was used to being called exactly that by the extreme right in that other group I mentioned but it allowed me to get my 2 cents worth in on the subject.

Thanks, turboshaft, this has been a very civilized group and I don't expect any of the nastiness that you see in usenet groups but realize at the same time that there are deeply and devoutly held convictions re. the role of government in your society so I'm bound to step on some toes the moment I say anything critical in connection with your present health care system. Actually it is none of my business except that our system was held up as something not to imitate. I know of better ones, all I have to do is glance across the ocean, but basically it's been good to me and my family. With your present one, given my wife's illnesses, we would be uninsured by now or into debt over our heads. So I'm grateful. BTW, I am not sure if the Europeans (or Canadians) would be happy to be called Socialists. There's just more of an emphasis on the welfare of the tribe rather than on that of the individual.

Thanks and good for you. Another stark example of a non-functioning system I forgot to mention earlier was the disturbing picture of an American elderly woman with Alzheimers' being dropped off by a cab in front of one of those charity hospitals in poor neighborhoods and left to wander around aimlessly and confused, clad only in a granny gown, because the hospital she had first been brought to called a cab for her the moment they found out she had no insurance. She was rescued eventually by someone who saw her from inside the ?hospital? and took her in. This was not in a Michael Moore movie but on one of your more reputable news channels. The whole scene of this poor, disoriented woman stumbling around in a nightie was caught on a security camera. Reform, of course, is up to all of you and I know how distasteful it is to see foreigners sticking their noses into your affairs, so .. sorry and I'll shut up now except to make one more reply to another post! :-)

I watched a U.S. news show the other day where a guy mentioned casually that he didn't have the money to pay for stitches on a cut to his arm so they had to use another method to seal the cut. That made all of us hard-done-by Canadians sit up with a gasp. There are folks who will go to the States because they have money and freak out at the thought of having to wait for anything so, why not? Some horrible examples of failures of the Canadian way of doing things are being hauled out by special interest groups (read insurance companies) but I have a wife who had a gall bladder operation, Bartholyn (sp) cyst drained, thyroid operation, hip operation, three years of hemo dialysis, two kidney transplants, all the follow ups in connection with the transplants. Total cost (except through taxes that we barely notice): 0 !! We are free to choose our own family physicians and while waiting periods are sometimes a bit long, the overwhelming majority are not dangerously so. Not even for the woman with the tumor in that Republican ad. Don't forget that those representatives of yours have been slipped envelopes by lobbyists for years, they don't want to lose that source of income. Please don't take this as a personal attack, just attempting to correct the false picture presented by Republicans and the Fox Network. Most of us are very happy with what we have even though there are flaws that should be corrected, like the long waiting periods to see specialists. And we are working on that. And it's a lot better than losing your insurance because your insurance company had to pay out too much on your behalf over the years and you find to your horror that now that you've developed cancer they've dropped you like a hot potato and you're on your own. (Another example of a not so well working system I saw on CNN only the other day). Darn it, I should never post in a political thread, I had to leave a newsgroup once because the stout defenders of the American way of delivering health care tore me to shreds for being anti-american. So please be kind, I don't want to leave another forum, but I couldn't let your remark go unanswered. Remember there are always complainers in connection with every subject.

When I subscribed to American Vice there were quite a few videos of mild bdsm and tons of scenes of actors wearing latex. I'm not into latex myself, as a matter of fact I was disappointed that latex seemed to dominate the fetish niche, but if I remember correctly it was there .. in abundance.

Good reply, Pat. I think it was a combination of factors for me as well. That wholesome, natural look you are talking about (and it helped that she reminded me of the first girl that set my heart a-pounding)and the fact that she looks approachable. There's also an incredible contrast between that sparkling smile and winning personality and what she's willing to do in the various scenes. I find them highly erotic, given that angelic face and pixie hair cut.

Ponder away, GCode! And Cutie Pie it is, definitely! There is no happy middle ground with me. I seem to like cutie pies and ladies of advanced age (forty and up). I am a psychological mess! :-)

You are absolutely right about one thing: the way we feel about things, look at things is too complicated to be answered with a simple statement. So my remarks that past experiences play a role in whom we find attractive are indeed only part of the explanation. It was one of those "aha" moments when it came to Claire Robbins but I confess to grossly simplifying because, quite frankly, I haven't figured out yet who else among my favorites resembles someone I might have known in the past or present! Or if there are other factors! :-)

Well, I guess maybe I should rephrase my original question a bit seeing that you mention that your preference for certain stars is based solely on looks .. we're all the same there. Problem is your looks may not necessarily be my looks. You will find a model breathtakingly beautiful while I am quite indifferent to her. So there has to be something in our past that determines what/whom we find beautiful and what/whom we don't. The whole thing is obvious, but wasn't to me mainly because I had never given it a thought, until I ran across a video by someone I had never heard of (Claire Robbins) and was immediately touched by her beauty. And my silent question "what exactly is it about her" made me realize that my very first heavy crush in my teens was the almost exact double of this girl! :-) I don't mean to go too deep when it comes to the subject, I just like to ponder and muse and fill this forum with stuff of no great importance! :-)

When I study the subjects and who responded last to a given one I keep reading that the last message posted in this thread was by someone named "housebutler" yet there is no post by him/her to be seen. Did you cut him/her, Khan?

Oh, I know I'll never catch up with badandy. He is the undisputed king of porn collectors. My collection, at the moment, consists of only 1.5 TB! Amazingly enough there is a lot of stuff I haven't even seen yet. As someone else once stated, maybe the fun is in the search and discovery of something new and in the collecting itself for us OCD types. :-)
