Me, I'm a simple man - If a site is consistently posting updates that I enjoy on an ongoing basis, I'm happy. I liked the Bourne movies - all of them - but it's a thin line with that hand-held stuff - some of it I enjoy - such as those films - some of it I don't. A movie that I REALLY want to see - I might have to find a bootleg DVD or something - the film of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Of course, unless it's subtitled, I'd have a hard time understanding it, but I really love Stieg Larsson's books. I swear I'm the kiss of death for writers that I like - first Octavia Butler, then Stieg Larsson. I don't know if I'm going to wait until late May for the US release of the 3rd book in the trilogy. I might "cheat" and get a UK edition. Lisbeth Salander is one of my favorite all-time characters in literature. It's cool to have a young woman character that is not in the military with the Jason Bourne-like bottomless pit of resources to confront her attackers/opponents. | |

Edge of Darkness with Mel Gibson seems like the real winner to me. Gibson is so clearly haunted with demons in his personal life that when he gets to play a character that allows him to manifest that, it can be brilliant. Payback is one evil fucking movie and probably my favorite Mel Gibson performance. He's an actor that has enough substance that I could see him being powerful into his 70's. | |

Here's what I find with Firefox. If I have joined a site for the first time since I have used Firefox to browse the site, when I first log-in using Firefox, I enter the username/password and in the upper portion of the browser window, an inquiry will appear - Remember the log-in info for this site? and I can click on "Remember" or "Never". If I click on "Remember", it will remember the info. The problem is that if a membership lapses and I then join again with a different username/password, I haven't been able to get Firefox to save the new information and I find that I have to enter that information every time | |

It's been a number of years since I had any big plans for New Years. I went to see Stephanie Swift feature at a strip club an hour and a half from me a few years ago. That was fun - and given her recent health issues, I'm glad that I have great memories of seeing her a number of times when she was healthy and happy and freaking gorgeous. Most New Years Eve's I'm asleep by 10:30 PM - just another night. But whether you're a hard-partying type or a sleeper like me, have a Happy New Year! | |

I think that hands-on approach - and also their close contact with their members - is serving NA very well. It's a site that has improved markedly, in my opinion, over the past couple of years, in terms of the heat of their scenes, and the whole live show thing is a bonanza for their members, given the quality of the talent and the shows - including having a camera person instead of a stationary web cam. | |

Naughty America - It is an interesting porn company in regard to the prominent role of women - many of their top people aside from Andreas, the owner, are women. They definitely encourage more couples-interaction than other sites. Lauren, the cutie who hosts their daily interview live show - I've got a wicked crush on that babe! - had a hand in directing a number of scenes on the site but made a comment last Monday that now they license their content. Whether you call Cameron a "director" or "creator" or "art director" or whatever, Avatar was certainly his baby. He was in charge of the whole shebang. I'm tempted to see it, but I really don't like Cameron as a human being - lots of artists are arrogant as hell, but when I dislike someone as a person, I can't see going out of my way to see their work. I'll see it on cable soon enough. I really liked Invictus, the new Clint Eastwood movie - in fact, Eastwood is probably the most consistently worthwhile film-maker working over the last decade in my opinion. | |

Religion, like art, is the great excuse. Why aren't every leader of the Catholic Church in the US and Ireland (at least) in jail for running a conspiracy to commit massive child abuse? Because they're religious leaders. When I was in the art scene, people treated each other horribly - ripped each other off right and left, broke any written or oral agreement they made, broke whatever laws they cared to - and their excuse was always - hey, I'm an artist! My favorite manifestation of this was when 2 female friends of mine were arrested for spray-painting stencils of one of my friend's initials all over town - on the public library, on the walls outside clubs they frequented - and they were arrested when a pissed-off club manager took the keys out of their car while they were spray-painting again a week after they had done his club. They tried to make a "get-away" by pushing their car down the street- lol. They continued the performance in court wearing severe men's suits to their court appearance - one of my friends shaved her head and wore ball-and chain earings. When their lawyer was going on about what responsible people they really were and how much his client's father cared about her well-being, the judge just erupted - "How old are these people anyway?!" My view - Is there such a thing? On the internet? I believe that there probably is - it's probably not very well-established, it probably doesn't have very good quality and it probably doesn't update more than once in a great while when the webmaster gets the money together to do another scene, cause he's probably the director, the male performer in every scene, the webmaster & the business manager of the whole shebang - and instead of paying via credit card, you'll have to join via PayPal - and to get around Paypal's restrictions on being used payments for adult entertainment, you'll have to note that you're paying for Aunt Maggie's Cookies. | |

One interesting thing, now that I took a look at it, is that it's claiming to have "complete uncut" versions of films that I know that sites such as Excalibur would chop to shit because of content issues - see my earlier comment about 70's films. | |

Where does this "count every skin pore" come from with the Pier 999 pics? There aren't any skin pores! There's no natural skin tone!!! That's my whole problem with their stuff - and with anybody else that does there models that way. Yeah, they get hot models. Yeah, they put them in hot poses. Being a fan of import model babes, I had been periodically checking out PureHotModels and decided to join a couple of weeks ago - since the join price was significantly less per month if I joined for a longer period of time, I joined for 3 months. For the first week I was a member, they hadn't added any new photo sets or vids, just zips of event pics. Then they announced that they were phasing out the site and that if you were a member for longer than 90 days, then they would give you a 30-day membership to the new site when they open it - whenever that would be, whatever it would be. Huh? What about me? was my question. So I e-mailed the only e-mail address I could find on the site - saying "you had me join in false pretenses - you've got a stated update schedule, which you are clearly not going to follow. I just joined for 90 days - what are you going to do to make it up to me?" No response to my first e-mail. No response to a follow-up - no response to a 3rd e-mail. So I e-mailed CC Bill - said, "hey, this site has a stated update schedule as follow - pasted it - they're not following it and they have now announced that they're folding the site so they have no intention of following their stated update schedule and they aren't responding to my communications - please refund me." CC Bill said, "give you 72 hours. We'll check into it." I gave them 72 hours, got no e-mail. So I e-mailed them, got a response a couple of hours later - "You're right and you're refunded." Cool beans - go CC Bill! | |

Seymour Butts got into this "consequences" issue quite a bit in his Family Business series. I remember one episode where a relative of a friend of the family wanted to get into porn so he was asked to dis-abuse her of the notion. He took her to a low-budget motel room shoot and various places, but she was pretty starry-eyed about the whole thing. He got into the whole "telling the family" thing, saying "Someone's going to see it if you do it. So if you can't tell them about it, don't do it." As far as porn performers losing the ability to do normal jobs, that seems rather far-fetched. For one thing, there is so much make-up and styling going on in porn that when I see pics of porn performers at industry events, I find that I recognize very few of them being even that dolled up - and if they were just out in the world without any particular porno styling, I'm sure that there are even less that I'd recognize. | |

RB's rant - that avatar is SO perfect for your personality - as is mine - is so true. A few years ago, my parents bought a new television, which they wanted me to hook up with their home entertainment system, so they could do the basics - watch cable TV, play DVD's, play other things that were hooked up in their system to have them all operate so they could get video from the television and get from their sound out of their larger speaker set=up,etc. I couldn't figure it out. My cousin, who was then a Senior in NYU's Film Program and experienced with his university's sophisticated audio video set-ups, couldn't figure it out. My nephew, who's young and generally tech-savvy, couldn't figure it out. The only one that figured it out was my NASA weather scientist brother-in-law. I was thinking - if I were the one that brought that piece of equipment home and had that much trouble getting it to work in a basic way, I'd bring it back to the store in the mood to shove it up the salesperson's ass sideways. How fucking complicated do things need to be made that you have to have a NASA weather scientist in your family to know how to hit play and get the result that you want? | |

Brazzers is quite likely the most heavily-advertised porn site on the internet - perhaps rivaled by Twisty's. They have a quite decent join price and they have employed a whole lot of well-known porn babes in their vids, which are exclusive - and let's face it, guys like boobs and they accentuate the boobs. But whereas Twisty's delivers what they advertise in a very consistent and straight-forward and professional way, Twisty's has fair customer service and an owner that is among the most conscientious people working in the adult industry and Twisty's has a forum where real members exchange opinions with real other members and real Twisty's staff that identify themselves that way, Brazzers goes another direction entirely. They are dishonest about what they have in terms of rate of updates, in terms of what you really have access to, they make it virtually impossible to even request a refund and I seriously doubt that they ever actually refund anybody, their Customer Service is non-existent and their forum is a fucking troll-swamp filled with Brazzers staff posing as members to shoot down anybody that wants to question their rip-off business practices. They seem to think that their decent join price gives them the right to rip off their members every way they can think of. Get the idea? | |

As others have said, it's a question of what you're interested in. If you're burned out on looking at porn, then everything is over-priced because you're not interested in paying anything. If you find HQ pics exciting, and a particular site's pics are particularly exciting, then their price might be well worth it if they've got deep archives and a good rate of updating. There are plenty of cheap sites that have really poor quality material, virtually of which has been licensed by the biggest porn producers, virtually all of which has been seen by anybody that has spent 10 minutes trolling for porn on the internet. The added value of the HQ pic sites is their exclusivity - their stuff is rarely licensed and posted elsewhere, so it's new and fresh. And of course, there's no point in spending $.02 for it, never mind $29.95, if you're not interested in it. I should add, though, that there is no reason to have to pay $29.95 for most sites - Met Art has a deal of $99 for 1 year and it's the most consistently updated arty pic site with incredibly deep archives - or you can get their 3 related sites all together for $199.95/year if you're really an arty pic junkie - W4B or whatever it's called has a deal of $59.95 for 3 months - Femjoy has frequent promotions throughout the year, etc Edited on Dec 10, 2009, 07:12am | |

Much as I like NA, I'm not sure what "more than a porn site" they are becoming, since the live webcam sessions are all porn or, in the case of Live With Lauren, showing clips of porn, and having interviews with porn stars & talking about sex, the members forum is all about porn, etc. It's a porn site. When hasn't the concept of porn star been around? It's certainly been around since the days of Seka in the late 70's. And a large number of the most popular porn performers these days are a) better looking than in days of yore and b) hotter performers than those of bygone days. When you think about Savanah having been a major porn star when she was just blonde and willing to have sex on screen - and then she killed herself, like Shauna Grant, because neither one really wanted to do porn - things are better these days. Girls that don't like it leave, but luckily you don't see the suicides like there used to be. Girls have more of an idea of what they're getting into and there's not as much stigma as there used to be about having sex on screen when there's all the celeb sex tapes so widely promoted. That might abrogate the agreement. If the site is a complete clone then the parties that control the clones (Payones/Videobox) are on even ground as far as content and they do their own marketing - maybe they even have agreements as to "turf" - who can advertise where. If Payones added additional content, then they would no longer be on even ground and why would Videobox be happy about that? It would be a major problem and turn a win/win situation into a conflict. | |

I believe that it's called licensing. The people that own Payones probably paid Videobox a fee to have a clone site and promote it themselves and earn money from doing so. Hopefully there haven't been members of Videobox that weren't paying attention and joined another site that is pretty clearly identical. Maybe Videobox needed the investment income at a certain point when the deal was made, though I can't say that I really know. | |

Yeah. I don't drink alcohol hardly ever, so there's no point for me to lose the full nudity in order to hang around with people that are drinking, which I generally find a distasteful experience anyway. In California, the laws are similar. If alcohol is served, there are restrictions on nudity and there are restrictions on contact. So I never go to strip clubs that serve alcohol. | |

That place is geek heaven with more action figures than you ever knew existed, including a number of sexy anime action figures - one of which was appealing - though the $95 price tag was not. A friend of mine in LA had a friend that was a serious unrepentant perve that had a great collection of sexual action figures in his apt. I didn't get the details on them, because I was too interested in his non-stop hilariously perverse monologues. I don't know how much time I could have stood to spend in this guy's company, but for a single day, I really liked him. I wouldn't mind having an Amy Reid action figure where she does that awesome Amy Reid move of opening her bra and having her amazing boobs spill out and bounce delightfully. | |

When did Roxy Jezel retire? I just saw her do 2 Naughty America live shows a couple of months ago - awesome personality, very sexy. I found a thread at another forum, discussing all of the ins and outs of Roxy's retirements - there have been several. She's accepting new bookings as of this past July, and looked great when I saw her. I believe that the only thing about her that is firmly retired is her ass - she doesn't want to do more anal. Crissy Moran isn't a maybe. She retired a few years ago now, became a born-again Christian, though there must have been a whole boat-load of unreleased material, because Twisty's (every once in a while) and the people that run the site with her name on it (weekly) keep on releasing material that I hadn't seen before. I like solo model sites. There are a number of good ones. If you like Latinas, Karla Spice, or any of the related sites are a good deal, since they have many bonus sites, some of which also have regular updates. Karen Dreams is a real pro, though her update schedule isn't what it used to be and it's one of the pricier sites. Nikki Sims, formerly Next Door Nikki, is another real pro with a reasonably priced site, Nikki's Playmates, I believe, that includes access to web cam shows by a growing roster of hot babes - she has bonus sets in addition to her own material. Aaliyah Love, aka ALS Scan Molly, has a good site that she is very involved in. There are a number of other sites that you also get access to when you join hers. I don't know where she's at in doing web cam shows these days - she had a back problem for quite a while. Janessa Brazil also has a good site with lots of web cam shows and regular updates. Jessie Coxxx is another Phil-Flash find that has her own site. She's posting the stuff that she does for her site as well as the pics from her work with Kink.com there. Sandy Summers is still going strong with her site - and she's looking hot as hell lately. Her site also includes access to Jana Jordan's site, which wasn't being updated very often. Bryci.com is a site by a newer girl that is very fresh and doing a lot of good work. So basically I disagree completely with the "there are no good solo-girl sites out there" line. It's not at all true, if you look around and pay attention to forums to see who is posting their updates, which is the best way of knowing which sites the models are involved in and are updating regularly with hot material. It's certainly true, though, that the longevity of any solo-girl site is unknown. Models have disputes with their web-masters, or they get busy with other things in their life - or sites are set up with a certain amount of material and no involvement by the model from the start. | |

My oldest sister is a classic enabler. She and her husband adopted a baby when they were both in their late 30's, which made them older parents, relatively, and they were both horrible at establishing any control over her - and weren't big on anybody else establishing any control of her either. I remember being blown away once when my sister was complaining about the school taking away my niece's cell phone for repeatedly taking it out and using it during class. My sister's response? She can't help it - she has ADD. Actually, the problem is that she's a BRAT. I like the girl, she's my niece, but she's been terribly spoiled and needs to be left to her own devices to sink or swim to find out how to actually relate to other people in the world properly. I wouldn't be shocked at all to find out that my niece and her friends were doing that sexting thing when they were young. I remember when that movie Kids came out. I saw it and thought it was sensationalistic and not realistic at all. Then a friend of mine told me a story about his step-daughter and it was basically that movie played out for real - except with more consequences. | |

So, uh, Windows 7 - less than 2 hours to do the whole download/upload/update thing and the results on my computer are fairly breathtaking - pics - Oooooooohhhhhhh, vids - OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH - the visuals are fucking stunning - it's like if you had an accident and had to have your eyes bandaged for 2 weeks and then got to open them - the sensory rush is intense. I like! | |
