Here are some stats on the Kink channel on Videobox
I know a couple of PU members expressed some interest in the Kink channel at Videobox, but for some reason you can’t even tell it’s there unless you’re a VB member. So for those of you who may be considering a VB membership and wondering about the Kink channel, here are some stats and thoughts on it.
Pros:
- 254 Kink scenes from various Kinks sites
- scenes regularly added (sometimes daily, sometimes every second day)
- streaming available
- multiple download options (HD, WMV DVD, WMV High and iPhone)
- good download speeds
- allows download managers with the same long (or non-existent timeouts that VB has)
- good cross-section of most of Kinks sites
- membership price is pro-rated in your first month of VB membership
Cons:
- only accessible through VB3
- no meaningful cataloguing of scenes and no easy way to tell which site they’re from
I’m a big fan of Kink and I won’t bother discussing the material. If you don’t know Kink’s material you should read reviews of their sites on TBP and PU as the material isn’t for everyone. But for those who like BDSM stuff it doesn’t get any better.
The Kink channel offers a great selection of scenes from most of Kink’s sites. The technical pros are mostly the same as VB: good download speeds, no obvious timeouts for download managers, etc. The pricing is interesting too in that it is pro-rated for your first month of VB membership. That can make this an excellent deal if you only want a few scenes – wait until the last week of your membership and then join.
Kink is only available as part of VB3. The biggest drawback for me is that opening a link brings up the streaming video. SO MAKE SURE YOUR SPEAKERS ARE OFF! Worse, you can pause it but it restarts again, sucking some bandwidth.
There is no obvious ways to sort the scenes. If all you’re looking for are Hogtied scenes you’ll have to check every scene to find those. That’s a problem that could be easily fixed since VB2 has scenes better sorted.
These are approximate numbers (I obviously screwed up the counting somewhere as I opened every file on the channel…) but it’ll give you an idea of what’s there now:
As I suspected, the only obvious female Kink site missing is Pissing. But I suspect that’s a bit edgy for VB which probably isn’t interested in pushing the limits that much. (Although they do have a couple of Kink’s fisting scenes, and calling almost anything by Kink “mainstream” would be like saying Kim Jong-il was a kind gent with a fashionable hairdo.)
I had been a VB member for a long time, probably 4+ years. I've even recommended it to friends who have gone on to get memberships. Today though, something happened that, while trivial, reminded me that all big companies, VB included, don't really think about customer service. My account was deleted today. I can only presume that this happened because the expiry date on my credit card changed. No big deal, but they have my email address - wouldn't it make more sense to fire off an email to ask for an updated expiry date?
Maybe this is a sign... I have been looking for more niche stuff so maybe now is the time to leave VB for a while.
Joining PornStar Network gives you access to VideosZ
I joined PornStar Network about six weeks ago and noticed that they had a lot of ‘premium’ content labeled as “Moviez.” Joining PSN through TBP or PU gives you a discounted price and gives you access to all the ‘premium’ content. Everything labeled as Moviez has a VideosZ watermark, and while the interface is through the PSN it appears that this is full (or nearly full) access to VideosZ. If you’re interested in a membership to VideosZ this might be the better option.
I agree with most of what slutty wrote in his recent review, but subjectively I find the site better than he does. There is a massive amount of porn here. I have a huge collection of DVD porn but had no trouble finding hundreds of gigabytes of stuff I didn’t already have. Navigation and search functions are terrible, but I really liked what they had to offer. I like a lot of stuff from the 1990s and there is a lot of it here. There is a lot of newer stuff from many major studios too. And as I said, I was pleasantly surprised to see that there isn’t a lot of overlap with other big DVD sites like Videobox.
I can’t in good conscience do a full review of VideosZ because I’m not sure if joining through PornStar Network gives 100% access, but if it isn’t 100% it’s got to be pretty damn close. If I was doing a review based on the access I have, I’d score it 85 or higher. There are some problems with navigation and search, but the content is great. There is a lot of crap* too, but one man’s crap is another’s gold.
* warning – don’t go looking here for real “crap” (ie. scat) videos. There aren’t any, you sick pervert!
Once again my credit card was hacked through a Lansky site
Back a few months ago I reported that I had three suspicious charges from Lansky sites. I had joined those three sites for a month and successfully cancelled them but a month or so later I ended up with expensive annual memberships. I was able to get this fixed through VXN Billing.
Last week it happened again. I checked my credit card balance and saw a $99 Vixen charge I hadn’t authorized. Once again VXN was able to help me out. I think that VXN was able to block my card from any further charges from Lansky sites.
If you’ve been a member at a Lansky site recently you may want to check your credit card.
A downside for me is that I like the sites but in future I’ll use a pre-paid card only.

If you’ve been a member of Blacked, Blacked Raw, Tushy, Tushy Raw or Vixen recently you may want to check your credit card statement.
I’m not entirely sure what happened but I thought it was worth mentioning this in case it happened to anyone else and they haven’t noticed it yet.
I took one month memberships to Blacked, Tushy and Tushy Raw on December 21. I was billed through VXNBill for all three. I cancelled all three memberships successfully before they rebilled. I was not rebilled on January 21 for any of the sites.
Today I checked my credit card and saw that I was billed for three memberships through VXNBill. One was for $120 and the other two were for $100. Those charges showed up on the 20th and 21st (today) of February. I didn’t join any sites in the past few days. I haven’t even visited these sites since my memberships expired.
I checked my email and I had confirmations for signing up to the three sites I had previously joined for six-month memberships.
I contacted VXNBill and they were really helpful. They aren’t sure what happened but I wasn’t given a lot of pushback on cancelling the memberships and being promised a refund. The charge for today hadn’t gone through so they assured me that would be withdrawn before it got posted to my card.
I’m not sure what happened. It seems unlikely that my card itself was hacked. In the past when my card gets hacked it gets used for consumer goods in far-away places. It seems unusual that if my card was hacked that whoever did it would buy memberships in my name. The confirmation emails didn’t include passwords so it is possible that there was a site hack.
I haven’t cancelled the card yet but I will be checking it several times per day for the next while.
If you’ve been a member of Blacked, Blacked Raw, Tushy, Tushy Raw or Vixen recently you may want to check your card just in case. (I mentioned Vixen and Tushy because they are part of the same parent company though they aren’t implicated in my case.)
Based on reviews and comments posted here and at TBP I considered taking out a membership to Vixeo. I browsed through it and found something that is a deal breaker for me. It seems easy enough to find specific videos, and the stars are listed at the top of the page for each video, but the scenes themselves don't list the star and don't give any classification for the scene. Other sites, for example, will tell you who the star is in the scene and give some details, like saying that the scene is anal. While they appear to have decent stuff, the inability to quickly sort scenes is enough to keep me away. If I'm looking for Sasha Grey anal scenes, for example and search "Sasha Grey" I'll get a list of every video she's in on the site, but I then have to find the specific scene in each video and unless I DL and watch it I have no way of knowing if it is anal or not.
I'll never understand why sites do this - they go live with a small number of videos and don't offer an introductory price that reflects the size. It looks like a decent site but I'll wait until it grows before I try it.
I was on the Kink website recently and was surprised to see that two new Water Bondage scenes had been posted in late January. The site has been dormant for close to two years. There is also a mention of the scenes on the Behind Kink page but the information is a bit vague as to whether they're just 'testing the waters,' as the article is titled or whether the site will now be updating regularly. Water Bondage has always been one of my favourite sites so I hope this means they're back in business. If they're only testing the waters, I doubt they'll get a lot of interest since you have to pay for a full membership to get two new scenes.
I'll be emailing Kink to see if this the site will be updating more and if anyone's interested I can post an update here.
I've reported this to the staff at TBP too, but just in case you only read here before joining be aware that the trial membership does not give full access to the site. The trial membership gives access to six photo sets. I reported at TBP that it also gave some video access but that turned out to be wrong. None of the video links actually work. Clicking any other link on the site merely invites you to pay for an upgrade. And the same concern that lk2fireone reported below applies here: the "upgrade" is $39.95. So you can join for $29.95 OR you can take the limited trial for $4.95 and then "upgrade" for $39.95. Some deal! But when you cancel your membership you're offered a deal of $9.95. So if you really want something on this site, take the trial and then cancel to get the low price. I didn't take the offer because I was pissed off at them.
Please note that I'm not even remotely suggesting that someone was trying to pull a fast one, I merely want to post that I had a membership cancellation issue in case it happens to more than just me.
I joined this site on August 28 through the site. The biller was Epoch. I didn't receive an email confirmation but the correct charge appeared on my credit card statement.
Today (September 22) I went to the Epoch site to cancel my membership but the site had no record of it. I used Epoch's chat function and the staff member there couldn't find it either. I was on with the support staff for about 15 mins before they could locate the charge and cancel the rebill. I asked, but they had no explanation for why I couldn't locate the membership on their site and why it took so long for their own staff to locate it. I did appreciate the Epoch staff patience because they certainly said and had reason to believe that I had made an error and the charge was actually with another biller.
I have no idea if this is a warning to others or just an unusual circumstance. Others may want to weigh in on their experiences. Prospective members should be aware that there was a problem cancelling.
I'm a big fan of studio sites (as long as I'm a fan of the studio, of course) so I was intrigued by this site. But clicking on just about any link on the main preview page links to the join page. Want to see what DVDs they offer? Link to the join page. Want to see what models they have? Link to the join page. I'll probably join anyway, but this crap really bugs me. If they're proud of their site then show it off. This tactic makes it look like they're hiding something.
Does anyone know what the relationship is between Wow Technologies Ltd. and Diesel Media Online Inc.? TBP lists Wow Technologies Ltd. as being based in the U.S. and they only have the one site, Wow Girls. Diesel Media Online Inc. is in the Netherlands and has sites like 18 Only Girls, Young Legal Porn, Skinny Super Girl, etc. I joined Wow Girls (review coming soon) and that site has the same look and layout, the same models (Gloria, Ivana, Mia, etc.) and in some cases the scenes on Wow Girls are also posted on the Diesel sites. Has Diesel spun off an American arm? Is Wow stealing Diesel’s content? Anyone have an idea? The Diesel webmaster pops in here occasionally so maybe he can shed some light on this.
A question about Young Legal Porn and Diesel Access
First, I know that the information is likely on this page and on the TBP site, but since there are a few PU members with YLP memberships right now I’m hoping for some clarification.
Back about a year ago I joined the Diesel Access Network and got a TBP / PU discount AND got access to all the sites in the network immediately. At the time I found the combination of the high quality of scenes, the incredibly beautiful models and the exceptional value to make this one of the best networks I’d ever joined. At the time, here’s what I wrote about the membership being offered:
“There is a TBP/PU discount offered, and you can buy a membership to this site or for an additional $10 you can add the whole ‘network.’ I strongly recommend spending that extra $10 for two reasons. It makes the membership an excellent value, and the same models appear on the other sites so if you like a particular model you’ll be leaving material behind without access to the other sites. The other sites are Ivana Fukalot, Skinny Super Girl, 18 Only Girls (this is the other large site here), Alice Wonder Bang, Lay the Kat, Sasha Fucks Dasha, Natasha Shy, Vika Nymph, Sasha Blonde, Beata Porn, Kamilla 18, The Sperm Lover and Policeman..”
But… as I understand it now this same offer isn’t available. From what I can gather there is no TBP / PU discount available now. When I join through TBP / PU I pay the full $30 fee and get access to Young Legal Porn and Skinny Super Girl. Is that correct?
I also read that if keep my membership for more than two months I automatically get access to all the other sites. Is this true? Has anyone tried this and does it work? (I can’t find any mention of it on the tour pages.)
Sorry for all the questions, but I think this is one of the best networks on the ‘net and I’d like to rejoin but want to make sure I understand what I’m buying when I do rejoin.
This is a great site, and part of a decent network, but the problems keep piling on and I may cancel my membership without downloading everything that I want. That would be a first for me.
My initial problems have been outlined in earlier comments. Those were no network access for which I paid (resolved when the webmaster stepped in), and download speeds that can drop to virtually nothing.
The current problem may be more specific and might not be experienced by all users, but it is still frustrating to me. I use Free Download Manager. I don’t use it to download multiple files at once, I just use it to queue up several files I want to download and then I can leave it unattended for a while and do other things. Video files were no problem at all: I loaded them in FDM and it churned away and downloaded them. Photos were a different story. Sometimes when I wanted to download a zipped photo set I could click on the download link and it would load into FDM and off I’d go. Other times I needed to open the link in a new tab to then download it. I had to check at the beginning of each session which method was needed. That was odd, but I learned to work around it.
But today things have changed again. Today I can’t download video files using FDM. I click on the link and it reads the name of the file to be downloaded, but then FDM reads it as a file name “HD” and downloads a file that is just over 1000kb. The file is a video which tells me that my access is denied. So I’m now left with downloading each file through my browser which means that I have to check my computer regularly to start downloading manually.
Also, as of today I can’t download photo sets using either of the methods that worked before. My access is denied for those too. But keep in mind that access is only denied using FDM – I can still download through my browser.
I haven’t changed any settings on FDM so I really don’t think the problem is on my end. A username and password hasn’t been required before for each download, but I tried that too and that didn’t fix it.
I sent a message to customer support and I’ll wait for their reply, but I’m pretty much fed up with this network. The frustration level is too high. The porn on the site is really top notch, but getting at it can be a chore. I'll submit a detailed review when I hear from customer support and my temper cools off a bit.
I'll comment on this in a review later, but something I've found with this network is that there are periods where the download speeds are so low it isn't even worth trying to download anything. I've seen sustained download speeds of less than 20KB/sec. That's kilobytes, not megabytes. A typical file could take a day to download. It doesn't last more than a few hours and normal download speeds are good, but be aware of this. You have to be prepared to download on their schedule, not always yours.
What is likely to be) The Final Update on Network Access Issues at YLP
For those who’ve been following this story, and the couple of you who have put memberships on hold, the problem has been resolved.
The webmaster, Dieselman, replied that the problem has been fixed and that we should be back to full network access. At least that’s how I’m choosing to read what he wrote. What he specifically said was that my problem was fixed, and it has been. But since no one else had the problem I’m willing to assume that it is fixed for everyone.
I had hoped that this would get resolved this was, and I’m glad it did. These look like great sites and I’ll post a review later.
This thread follows my thread posted earlier today about lack of network access after paying for network access through TBP.
First – thanks for all the suggestions and comments.
There seems to be some resolution, though I’ve still not had a reply to my email where I point out that the TBP discount is what I paid for.
Their reply to my original email was to say that I didn’t have network access because I didn’t pay for network access, but they offered to give me access to another site as a goodwill gesture. I wrote back to them and said that if that was the best they could do then I wanted access to Skinny Super Girl. I then specifically mentioned the TBP discount. While I haven’t had a reply yet to that email, I do now have access to Young Teen Porn (which I had access to since joining last night), Skinny Super Girl and 18OnlyGirls. That tells me that they received my email. I’m not sure why they threw in the third site if their position is that I screwed up and didn’t buy network access when I intended to.
As I see it, there are now two possibilities: 1) they’ve given me additional access and will confirm that what I’ve said about the discount is true and later give full access, or they’ve closed the ticket and no further action will be taken. If #1 happens, I’m happy. If #2 happens, they’ve still not supplied what I bought and I’ll open another ticket and report the issue as an error on the TBP page. I’m hoping for the first option since the status of my ticket is still “awaiting response.” At least if they reply I can email them a copy of the screencap offering the discount.
It looks like YLP isn’t honoring their TBP/PU discount
Based on a conversation with like2fireone on a thread at Skinny Super Girl I signed up for network access for $29.99. There were two clear options for joining when you access the site through TBP/PU - $19.99 for site access or $29.99 for network access. Based on advice, I opted for the full network access. That isn’t what I got though. When I tried to access the network I saw that I only had a membership at YLP and had to pay to upgrade to the other sites. I contacted support to ask about this and was told that I paid $29.99 which only gave me access to YLP and that if I wanted full network access I had to pay $39.99. To their credit, they did offer to give me access to two sites for the $29.99 price. For now, I’ve accepted that offer though I’ve not yet been given access to the other site.
I still have an open ticket with them where I specifically ask them about the TBP/PU discount. I’ll report here when I hear back from them. They responded quickly to my first issue so I’m hoping to get an answer quickly to this one.
If they decide to not honor the TBP discount for network access I’ll be sure to report that to the TBP staff so the review page can reflect that. Discounts are a big draw for me and that certainly influenced my decision to join. This is particularly annoying since the page I joined through offered the discount too.
(BTW – just in case someone gets the wrong idea about this, in no way do I blame like2fireone and the others on that thread for this issue. They reported some site access issues but no one reported this.)
