Overview:
The site is huge lets face it every review says this site is massive.
And with size will come errors, the site gets a 84 because why bigger is better (Wink wink). A site that uses their big site poorly is like have erectile dysfunction with a 12" cock.
Does matter how big it is can't use it what good is it.
The site has something for everyone, and just about every porn star past and present can be found in at least one scene.
I found allot of mislabeled movies and porn stars.
Black pornstars name and all white cast ? Stuff like that.
When you choose all movies by a person you d not always get all movies. making hunting and pecking to find gems. Which feels like trying to find a marble in the Sahara.

The site is very wood worthy, with so much to give the consumer they manage to get by with flaws and all.
One awesome option that kept my review in the 80's was the edit feature. Now that is cool. I was able to save a ton of space removing fill and just seeing action.
There are few bells and whistles, but being the search options and navigation in accuracies take away from some hard work done by the designers.
Bottom Line:
At just under 10.00 I could not go wrong I ended up finding long lost movies which made this toad very happy. The site is big and there is just not good enough technology yet to make a site this huge any easier. My review was tough because I do not believe in giving excuses to sites that do not manage content regardless of the size or not.
However if you do not join this site you will have no idea what its like to go porn shopping at a site as big as Walmart. I would say VB is the walmart of Porn. Not perfect but lots of stuff and amazing price. |

Well price is a pro and a con here amazingly, she below for the con but have to give it if I didn't know I paid more than people in America I would say it's good value for money for the amount of porn you get.
Some absolute gems in here if you take your time and do some searching, I felt the search engine was adequate and I did prefer to be honest the old version of video box to VB3. Thankfully I still had the option when I was there back in the beginning of July, seems like they changed soon as I expired and now its only VB3.
Strongest vids I enjoyed were Private range of movies some, really hot European ladies I never had heard of but like super models doing porn. I did enjoy also the Shane's World vids for amateur style which is a genre I've not really tapped into to. Sinsational Pictures and Sineplex also had some really good anal scenes that I liked. Lastly video Art Holland had some real good dvds that I was impressed with. |

The price annoyed me some, having to pay $9 more for living in the UK, so it was $24 (£15), that said I do have to admit it was still good value for money as a great choice of DVDs.
Slowish downloads, I didn't quite have the problems Bletch had in the review below but did think it was very slow which is why I turned to using Internet Download Manager and that speeding thing up nicely for me and I could download say 3 movies in 5 to 10 mins.
Quality lacked somewhat on some movies to the point as they were under 100mb, this meant they were barely watchable to me really. I'm used to at least over 150mb for me to be bothered downloading.
I know you can't complain but did sometimes have a series from a studio I liked and over joyed to see Videobox had some of them but only to find they were missing the volume with the girl I wanted to see, happened quite a few time, but I guess they can't have everything. |

My bottom line of this site is its very good, I have found lots of new lovely fav women here, discovered some great dvds that I just would of never of come across or hired out from the dvd shop. The quality on some clips sure could be improved but with so many scenes and movies that would be some job going through and posting up better quality versions of all.
I went to the site to discover my newly fondness of milfs and ended up coming away with a lot more with the discovering some really excellent chickilitas that I will add to my list of favs. So overall I'm a happy bunny with being a Videobox member.
Its an absolute overwhelming site at first though as you don't know where to begin with all the back DVDs available, currently 11,346 DVDs and 63,293 scenes, now thats a lot if you end up getting them all. I guess the fun of the site is discovering gems in a all the vastness of the site and getting stocked up on studios you like.
84 score is marked down for the quality of scenes and certainly not quantity, just wished a little higher resolution for some of the movies, especially the scenes from Private studios which were a few years old but some were barely watchable. |

I know there are tons of reviews of this particular site, and I am sure that everyone at PU has been or will be a member eventually. This site used to be one of the best if not the best porn site on the net. However, lately I feel like they are focussing on stupid little user interface issues rather than resolving major issues with the site. How many times have they redesigned the front page? While adding user costum edited clips is interesting, who has the time to dig through that shit?
They should focus more on fixing the problems with the site. Get quality rather than quantity. They already have a huge archive, I don't think many would be dissappointed with 4-5 updates per week if they were good updates. Also, a site this large needs better navigation. The videos can easily be tagged with more info than gonzo and one on one. Tags for tats, breast size (other than large), and body type would be nice. If they don't want to do it, let the users tag the scenes - I'm sure plenty will.
This overall is a good site, and there is a reason it is so popular, but they could certainly take a cue from sites like American Vice that unfortunately failed. Like I said, everyone here should and will become a member here at some point or another, but that doesn't mean videobox doesn't have plenty of issues to resolve. |

The site seems to gravitate to a specific series and present multiple videos in that series over the course of a few days. Too many of these series are dull and poorly exectued. Also, the site has a difficult time dividing "classic" videos into scenes, so trying to enjoy such a video is nearly impossible. |

*I know there are a couple of similar sites but this is still the leader when it comes to downloading porn dvd's and unless something changes then it will remain the leader for years to come. That's the good news but the bad one is that I was pretty disapointed with my last visit. I may be in the minority because of my porn tastes and expectation but a large part of the scenes I recently downloaded had some loud annoying soundtrack that masked the rest of the sound.
*They offer some great stuff and they keep adding new studios which in turn adds more movies to their already huge library but it would be amazing if they instead of adding new studios. They would instead concentrate on getting the entire library from their existing studios. I don't know the reason why they haven't done that yet. Maybe the owner of the library is asking for too much money but it would be nice if they got that done. Mind you if they do add older movies from existing studios. Then please don't add the annoying soundtrack because if you have to do that then don't bother because they certainly won't be seeing me as a futur customer.
*This is a great site for anyone just starting to surf for porn or someone looking for dvd's from dead studios because there is so much stuff here that a month will never be enough to find and download all that you want and staying long term may well be worth it. I find that it's a lot less worth it for a repeat member like myself because a lot of the stuff they added since my last visit was simply repeat stuff under a different studioo name, crap that I would never download or movies that has that annoying soundtrack added to it.
**I'm giving the site a much lower score than it might deserve but that's because I'm a returning customer who sees that they haven't fixed issues that were there the last time I visited and who's disapiinted in a good part of the content that he likes. - The biggest porn DVD site on the internet and one of the cheapest when joining through Porn Users at $12/month.
- Five full DVD updates per day.
- Their definition of HD includes anything 720p or higher resolution. Based on it, roughly 25% of their DVDs are HD quality.
- What tags they have are actually pretty good
- Premium channels are the big draw for me. Will detail them below in bottom line.
- If you like late 90s, early 2000s porn, a Videobox membership combined with the Vivid channel is probably the best buy in porn.
- Download speeds can vary, but are usually consistent. The variances happen at certain times each day and sometimes it's actually faster, other times way slower.
- My download manager works well (free download manager), but I limit how many files it downloads to 20 at a time so not to risk download links timing-out.
- A generally easy to use site, easy to cancel, unless you do something I do, then canceling can be frustrating. Explanation in bottom line. |

- Back years ago, I was convinced that VB was steadily trying to improve their site. Not so anymore. I think they have settled into a mass porn site and have no intentions of making themselves any worse or any better.
- Video quality is inconsistent. They'll have a "HD" scene that is 720p with a 1,500 bitrate. While also calling a 720p scene with an 8,000 bitrate "HD". I could just call this being sloppy and careless since it's what it is.
- Pricing is good unless you want the premium channels and join them early in your Videobox membership. See bottom line.
- Loads of newly added DVDs that are full of scenes already on the site under different names. Gives the impression of recycling content, but I think they're just ... sloppy and careless. I have one Eva Angelina scene, four different times and none are the same length. I don't even know who to blame for those, the producers milking a scene or Videobox bloating their numbers. |

This was at one time one of my favorite sites. I still think it's an excellent site for new members and for those who like that late 90s, early 2000s era porn. Their newer DVDs are good, but the majority fall into the cookie-cutter porn genre, seen one you've seen them all type of porn. That's where the premium channels come in. These are the premium channels with their prices if you add them on the first day of your Videobox subscription:
Evil Angel $15 - You can get a full subscription to Evil Angel for the same price using the PU discount, it's a much better deal.
Reality Kings $15 - Roughly the same price as you can get from PU, and it's a better deal than the add-on channel.
Kink $35 - Pretty unique channel, it's sort of a best of or compilation of Kink's various sites, it's a great addition, but I hold off until the prorated price brings the cost below $10.
Soft On Demand $35 - Typical Japanese site with mostly censored/blurred pubic areas. It's okay, join it for the last week of your VB subscription if you're interested in Japanese porn.
Elegant Angel $15 - It's a good deal if you like Elegant Angel, but I've never joined it.
Club Tranny $15 - Maybe a good buy for those interested in this genre.
Vivid $15 - Great add-on, to my knowledge it's the biggest collection of downloadable Vivid DVDs on the internet. Vivid's site didn't have downloads when I was last a member on it (about 9 months ago), so this is a really good deal if you like Vivid.
I admit, I'm a cheapskate when it comes to Videobox. I wait until half of my Videobox subscription is over then join Vivid. This gives you a prorated price of $7.50. I then join Kink when there's less than a week left on my Videobox subscription which gets the price below $10. This is the problem with this method:
If you cancel your main Videobox subscription then decide to add say Vivid or Kink or both or any of the other add-on channels, it reopens your Videobox subscription. Or better said, it cancels out your cancellation of Videobox. It goes like this:
Videobox canceled on 11/22/2015, membership lasts until 12/3/2015.
Vivid channel added on 11/29/2015
Videobox renews on 12/3/2015.
I would be complaining more about that, but I don't think it's an attempt to rip-off customers as much as it is ... sloppy and careless. You just have to go back and cancel Videobox each time you add a new channel if added after your initial cancellation.
Overall, Videobox has little to offer me anymore except being the gateway to those premium channels. For a new member, I think it's a great place to start your porn collection. The quality can vary greatly even if it says a scene is HD, you really don't know what the quality is until you download it. You can kind of guess by looking at file size, but they don't list bitrates on any of their scenes.
The search engine has become all but useless. Even going directly to your favorite stars pages can be misleading. I've thought I'd downloaded every scene for a model only to see 2-3 scenes listed in the recommended scenes that aren't listed with the model. The premium channels cause a problem here too since the search results will give you results all across Videobox and all their premium channels. This is one that has bothered me for years. If you search "Taylor Hayes", a late 90s, early 2000s superstar model, she will be listed in dozens of scenes, but most are on the Vivid channel.
They do offer a package of 5 premium channels for an extra $50 a month, which is certainly cheaper than their current rates on those channels, but it's still pretty costly.
Downloading from the site is no longer as easy as it used to be. I use free download manager. With it, I can click and drag a link into it. Each time I do it on Videobox it says, "Select preference". I hate to be an ass, but didn't I select my preference when I clicked the format I wanted to drag to my download manager?
While Videobox is still one of the better values in porn, it's also becoming one of the more frustrating and annoying sites in porn as well. There's also the problem with videos playing while you're trying to load your download manager and you rarely have taken the time to mute those videos so expect everyone in your house to wonder who's having sex.
You could do far worse than Videobox, but it's time for Videobox to give up its crown as the best porn DVD site. I also have a membership to Videosz and will review it soon. Videobox might be depending too much on their premium channels to deliver non-mainstream porn.
I joined for one main reason. I couldn't find my Videobox external hard drive following a move. I downloaded my favorite scenes, most of which were on Vivid and added a 100 GB or so of Kink content. My current Videobox folder is smaller than those and it's why I rated it 80. If you're new to VB then add 10 points to the score. Recommended for new members and those who have lost their favorite scenes. |

Incredible amount of content with a lot of niches. Downloading usually goes very well and quickly with a good internet connection. They update with new material on a daily basis. A lot of their vids are HD which is really amazing considering the black and white porn I used to watch back in the Iron Age. One thing I really like is the ability to make short clips of your favorite parts of a scene, save it, and download it. They offer a non-reoccurring annual supscription which is easier to hide in the credit card records. |

Instead, to get the really high quality porn actresses you are forced to sign up for separate channels for a monthly fee, such as Vivid, Elegant Angel, etc. I signed up for the Tranny channel for awhile but did not like the monthly fee record on my credit card. I could have tried to cure cancer or find a way to feed some of the world's starving, but having thought about it, I decided what the world really needs is yet another VideoBox review. Just cut and paste from the hundreds (thousands?) of VideoBox reviews in the last four years all the pros and cons, and you could make up a great VB review without ever visiting the place. So why you then get reviews as bad as Pros - tons of videos, attractive girls, Cons - poor search, Bottom Line - what more do you want, is beyond me.
What truly puzzled me though, after I originally joined was, why did I find download speeds so slow it was impossible to stream most evenings, and downloading even a few clips, was excruciating and made waiting for the grass to grow, seem like a high octane thrill a minute ride. I hadn't heard about that in the reviews. A victim of their success? So many people joining they didn't have the bandwidth to accommodate them, but couldn't give a rat's arse anyway? Absolutely.
One or two reviews and comments did finally start materialising about those slow speeds. USA seemed okay but it looked like Europe and Canada had the worst speeds, though not everyone suffered. Receiving decent speeds seemed very much a lottery, and my speed was so bad first time around, membership was pointless. Maybe they were vicitms of their own success. Too many members? They weren't falling over themselves to help in customer services (unless it was falling over with laughter, as each email of complaint was automatically consigned to "trash") as there appeared to be no one there. VideoBox Customer Services must be an oxymoron, like military intelligence. I strongly suspect VideoBox is run by the British.
Since the sad demise of American Vice I hadn't joined any dvd site but had always been looking. I yearned to check out VideosZ, but on principal would not give my money to any place that tried to con me out of my hard earned money. I'm talking here about pre checked cross selling, and without it I would not have returned to VB. In fact all of the dvd sites have pretty much the same problems: They are either crap, or have pre checked cross selling. The idea of returning to VideoBox, a site in which I had previously found download speeds so slow, they might as well have been delivered one byte at a time by carrier pigeon from VB to my computer, was anathema.
Why on earth I ever returned to VB I don't know, but completely against the odds and defying my disbelief, I was gobsmacked when I did. My god I could download, I could actually stream some videos, even in the daytime! OMG this time I could actually view some videos. Maybe this time it is me being lucky, as I have recently seen a comment on PU about very slow speeds.
It too often becomes a chore sorting out the good quality from the bad because of the vast volume of awful material, and with the site slow to react when changing pages, browsing can become a painful and irritating experience. I took advice from some experienced PU 'ers and often looked by studio. Pink Visual and Lethal Hardcore are two of the better ones.
Although most of the stuff is very homogeneous and mainstream, you do at least find a large model range of ethnicity, age, and size. Many sites nowadays have models that are nearly all white, young, and thin.
Overall, this time around it was a positive rather than negative experience. VideoBox is no longer my least favourite site, so this time I consider 80 rather than 75 to be a fair mark. I may even join again. |

i joined because of the great price, ability to make custom clips, and huge selection. unfortunately the download speeds were around 500kb/s which is totally unacceptable. also sometimes movies would stop half way thru and id have to reload them. the custom clip feature is awesome, however its hard to get the splice locations correct. ive had to redownload several clips cause they were not correctly set. i guess if you have patience or are ok with just web viewing this site i sgreat for you |

While videobox offers several updates per day, so much of the content is weird stuff like midgets and squirting and fat chicks that it may be 3 days before there is something you want to see. Also, most of the content are those tiresome scenes with interview-masturbastion-dude shows up-sex with nothing to grab interest. Personally I prefer a bit of a storyline.
I cancelled my second subscription (8/2008) just in time, as it seems they've started to bandwidth limit downloads. Its too consistent to be congestion, and I simply can't get more than 700Kb/s on any download from there site. I've confirmed that i can download from other sites. Unfortunately, the speed that they allow isn't fast enough to watch DVD content in real-time, so its a huge negative. |

My biggest pet peeve with this site is the total inconsistency of video quality. After having downloaded 60+GB of video, the bitrate varies between 1000kbps and 3500kbps.
In other words, for a 20 minute clip, I've had download sizes of 250MB to 900MB. Simply put, the quality of some of these videos is shameful. On the other hand, other videos are excellent.
Then there is a problem with resolution. Many DVDs are 720x480, which is great, but this resolution is NOT 4:3, so people always appear "stretched".
I wouldn't praise this site as well as others; yes it has good selection, and yes alot of the videos are excellent quality.
Personally if it wasn't for the price, I'd be disappointed.
And then there is the lack of some truly amazing actresses. Amy Reid, Krystal Steel... that really sucks.
Tip: BE SELECTIVE, especially if you're joining for a short time. There is ALOT of crap, and some good stuff. Be sure to download the good stuff first. You have a "Favorites" list that's useful to queue up downloads. USE IT. |

Yes, I realize that this is probably the most reviewed site here at PU, and yes, I also realize that this is the third time I’ve reviewed this site, but I wanted to update my opinion of the site and I figured that a comment wouldn’t suffice. I also added the premium channels this time too.
I’m a big fan of Videobox. I’ve had friends who’ve asked for recommendations on porn sites and I’ve sent them to VB. VB is an excellent way to build a large, good quality porn collection. It has enough variety to satisfy all but the most unusual tastes, though the search function (or lack thereof) makes finding what you want more difficult. A site this large needs a better means of searching.
VB is big enough and well known enough that one bad review won’t hurt it. I’m still a fan, but less of a fan than I have been. The thing I think that is dragging VB down is, ironically, what is one of their big selling points: five updates a day. The problem with having five updates a day is that this emphasizes quantity over quality. When they’re putting five new DVDs up per day, every day, regardless of your tastes there will be an awful lot of crap being uploaded.
To fill their daily quota VB relies heavily on European porn. I prefer American porn, but that’s not my motivating point here. There is good European porn and there is bad European porn. (Same with the U.S.) The problem is that VB seems to rely on more bad European stuff than good stuff. Take Private – they are (or at least used to be) a high-quality studio. I only learned that they also crank out complete crap thanks to VB. This is grade-B and C Private stuff.
Another pet peeve of mine that is also caused by the daily update schedule is the use of a lot of compilation DVDs. The problem is that with many of the compilation DVDs VB has already posted the original. Luckily someone usually points out the duplication. But VB gets to count another update without really updating anything.
On the plus side, VB has recently been adding older Seymore Butts titles. These are great to see again.
They’ve also started adding some Diabolic titles too. There aren’t many up yet, but these certainly move the quality balance in the right direction.
For the first time, I also added the ‘premium’ channels. These really add to the value of the membership now that they are bundled for the fee. They are a bit pricey, but they do offer good value with both channels having just under 400 titles posted now. A new title gets added to each channel every two or three days.
Is VB still a great value? Definitely. But they should modify their business model now that their so far ahead of the competition and focus on quality rather than quantity. I’d be satisfied with one update a day to have better quality. |

I was interested in trying a Mega-site of this type and debated between VideoBox and VideosZ. VideosZ makes it easy to browse what they have. VideoBox makes it hard. I suspect because their UI for browsing is not as slick looking as their home page.
Still as a potential customer it's important to know what they have. For those interested go to http://www.videobox.com/studios and you can see what they have available similar to at VideosZ.
It's fairly easy to browse by studio or model and even perform filtering beyond that. It's not a great UI design but I found it more functional than many sites. Ultimately you are displayed a thumbnail for each scene with click-able Title, Tags, & Names. Scrubbing over the thumbnail lets you view the video as a series of images and clicking on the image takes you to the player page where the video begins playing at that point in the video. Nice!
You can create a custom clip of the video selecting only the portion you want and just download that piece instead of the whole video. Very Nice!
They have the most accommodating download system I've yet used. You stay logged in for 24hrs and their links do not expire. You can load over a hundred downloads into a manager and just let it go. No limits, expirations, nothing. Just DL all you want. And they add 4 DVDs worth of content daily. Mega Awesome!
But let's talk about exactly what you'll be downloading.
Download options are presented best to worse as H.264-DVD, WMV-DVD, WMV-High, IPhone. And...they all look bad.
The "DVD" options may use a DVD as a source but they are certainly below DVD quality. The quality is comparable to a mediocre tube site. In fact VideoBox IS essentially a tube site with a large collection & a mostly accurate database to help you find stuff.
Occasionally their videos offer a 720HD option. I'd say < 5% of them. Quality varies a lot with these. They can look like a soft poor quality DVD, an actual DVD, or like a decent 720HD video that is a bit better than DVD.
It's not uncommon to find inaccurate information on their videos. Most egregious is when the wrong performer names are listed. I also ran into rare instances when a video file was corrupt, audio was just static, or audio was played at reduced speed making it sound like a demonic orgy. This is rare, but not so rare that I didn't run into it.
It's very convenient to be able to go to a single place for everything but it is disheartening when you find a scene you want and you know it should look a LOT better than it does.
I'll liken VideoBox to NetFlix in the following analogy: It's a convenient one-stop shop that allows you to browse thru a large & diverse library to find what you want and try stuff out. And you can certainly watch the video. But if you find something you really like, perhaps "The Hobbit". Are you going to be happy with a low quality version of it, or do you want the 3D Extended Edition Blu-ray.
I fall into the 3D Extended Edition Blu-ray category so while I appreciate a lot of what VideoBox does it is not really for me.
If you're not concerned with video quality and just want inexpensive browsing of material you can add ~10 points to this review score.
Currently the cost thru TBP/PU is a very reasonable $12/month. If you're not concerned about the video quality or you want to find an old video that you don't expect high quality from - absolutely join up. Otherwise though, I think you'll find the site intriguing but ultimately disappointing. |

- I'm pretty sure it's the biggest porn site on the internet and if not, it's close.
- Depending on your tastes, I find most of the new DVD porn to be similar to what you find on the big networks.
- They've cleaned up a lot of navigation and site issues but more issues have showed up.
- The standard membership gives you a lot of value, especially if you're new to porn.
- Download speeds are very good, going right at 80% and up of my max DL speed.
- Most of the new(er) DVDs are in 1080p resolution.
- Still updating with 5 DVDs per day (average of 20 scenes).
- The biggest pro in my opinion is the opportunity to rack up a huge collection of your favorite stars.
- More genres than they realize they have. I believe the only thing you won't find here is gay male porn.
- Easy to join and cancel with their onsite cancellation process. |

I thought the last time I reviewed Videobox would be the last time but at least one model has caught my attention who I've been collecting scenes of and VB has a large amount of scenes of her. It's also the easiest place to add to your niche interests like handjobs and some CFNM too.
What do you get for updating your porn site with 5 DVDs per day for years? A mess. Videobox currently shows 19,748 DVDs and that's 106,244 scenes. The dilemma you'll find yourself in is there's no doubt you can find something you'll like or maybe even a lot that you like but you will spend a whole lot of time trying to find it all and a lot of frustration.
My current example: I once saw a CFNM scene that featured this unnamed model, the other 2 models were named in it but this other one played the role of the sweet, shy, innocent girl who just watched. I thought she looked familiar but I don't join a lot of sites with the newest models on them. I then found out she's Dillon Harper who is one of the most popular models in porn. Anyway, I looked around for content of her and Videobox says it has 48 scenes of her.
So, I joined a few weeks ago and sure enough, they have 48 scenes of her. That is if you have Videobox, their PornPros add-on channel ($15), their Reality Kings add-on channel (which is where I first saw her), their Evil Angel add-on channel ($15). It might not seem like that bad since you would think those individual studios would maybe only have 2-4 scenes max but here's how it breaks down:
PornPros Channel has 14 of her.
Evil Angel Channel has 9 of her.
Reality Kings Channel which cannot be joined any longer has 3 of her.
Elegant Angel has 1.
So, of those 48 scenes, only 21 are available with a Videobox membership. It gets worse. Of those 21, 3 are the exact same scene listed as Natural Tits #23 scene 8, Don't Get Mad, I Fucked Your Dad #1 scene 2 and Young Freaks #3 scene 2. So, I'm down to 19 new scenes. There's two others that look like they've been doubled.
Meaning I went in thinking I was going to get 48 scenes of Dillon Harper but only got 15-16. As much as I want to keep complaining about this that's still a decent amount for the price but more so than that, it was so time-consuming and frustrating to sort through the scenes that weren't included with membership.
Videobox has and always has had every chance to be a dominant force in porn but the add-on channels are now dying off and they're still asking full price for them. I mean really, $35 a month for a Kink channel? You can join the Kink network for half of that and sometimes for a 1/3 of that and have access to thousands of more Kink scenes. It's not that I'm that bothered by the add-on channels as it is that their scenes are now mixed in the search results. Those add-ons have lowered the navigation of a site that already struggled in navigation.
There are positives including the amount of HD DVDs. They're showing having around 5,500 HD DVDs, that's almost 30,000 HD scenes ... but, those damned add-on channels content are included in those numbers.
I have been frustrated by their insistence to cater to their mainstream porn audience and that's still a problem. They added 10 "handjob" DVDs in 2017 but 4 of those are cumshot compilations that just happen to have handjobs in them. So, they averaged a handjob DVD per 2 months. The same 2 months that saw a total of 300 DVDs added. I think it all shows contentment on their behalf. Videosz made a run at them but they're now struggling and Videobox just sits there with their manipulated numbers to make them look even bigger than they are. Which is something they don't even need to do.
Despite all this negative and frustration, if you know who you're looking for, you can still get more content of them here than almost anywhere else. Here's a few examples:
Tanner Mayes 56 scenes, Alexis Texas 189 scenes, Sophie Dee 164 scenes, Bree Olson 59 scenes, Tori Black 113 scenes, Naomi Russell 134 scenes, Sunny Lane 49 scenes, and Nautica Thorn 165 scenes.
I used those because those are ones I had either deleted or lost and needed to get back. That's a lot of porn. But nearly each one had Evil Angel scenes in their scenes and if you're into the newer models most have Porn Pros Channel scenes in their scenes.
I even found a model who I haven't seen hardly no content of Priva, a Thai model and they have 19 scenes of her but 2 are Evil Angel, which is where I think I first saw her.
What I think is sad is that I can sit here and see all this potential but I know Videobox has been around for nearly 20 years and I have to think if they've not reached their potential after that long, they're not likely going to. I think it would take shutting the site down for a few months and doing major clean-ups to make a positive change even possible. As it is, I join it and have a list ready of who I'm looking for. Still recommended but only for those with patience and who are new to porn. |

Not enough variety from one update to the other, it is mostly Gonzo style Porn that starts with the action rather than with a lead-in. Checking any given daily update shows a monotonous sameness among the five DVDs.
Much Niche content is under-represented .. see monotonous sameness!
Deception in many DVDs. Sometimes compilations are offered that only have one or two scenes that actually represent the action promised by the title. This goes for other DVD sites as well.
Talking about titles and deception, frequently teens aren't teens and MILFs aren't MILFs. This would be the producers' fault rather than that of Videobox but they could be more discriminating when it comes to choosing the titles they will purchase, so they must bear part of the blame.

Just like others I have to stress that this is not the first time I subscribe to this site and the obvious conclusion is that there must be something that keeps bringing me back. Sometimes I do wonder why, but still and all I would encourage anyone who is new to porn to subscribe.
They will find a wealth of scenes they will like.
For a newcomer there is even some nice niche material (hair, pregnant, mature, peeing, BDSM, transsexuals) they can download if they are interested in the off-beat.
However, for anyone who has been a member on and off over the years the neglect of niches when it comes to the daily updates is regrettable and has to reduce the ratings given by them. That's why a newbie might give a 99 while I'm giving a 75. In my mind no higher score is justified at the moment.
Together, newbies and veterans might give this site an average score that better represents its value than the 95 given by TBP.
And, yes, down the road I'll probably subscribe again! |

I guess I have to start with the obvious, and that is the quantity of the material almost defies belief.
No download restrictions.
There are so many videos, this site in effect, gives you a free preview of anything you wish. It also gives you a chance to check out some videos from producers you haven't tried before.
The way the downloading section is set up is very good. It is perfect for knowing what section or sections of a video you want to download. It would be perfect for downloading from any category on any site, that has nothing to do with porn. The way the stills are set out makes it so easy. I love the simplicity of the downolading too.
They do break up the categories for you, and you can view the videos depending on date or popularity, which is handy. I like the look and way things are set out. Considering the volume of material I think it's about as simple and friendly a system as you could have, |

There is very little worthwhile fetish material. There are one or two interesting items, but that's about it.
There are very few videos from genuine independents. It all looks the same, even though they have videos from a great number of producers. There are one or two exceptions to this, but 95 per cent could all be from the same company.
As with most teen and amateur stuff, it starts off with the usual feigned surprise or naive innocent looks, to suggest they've never done anything like this before, and within 2 minutes they're at it as though all they've done for the last 10 years is have sex on camera. I strongly suspect that some of them may not be trainee rocket scientists or brain surgeons.
Digging out the gems from so much material can be time consuming.
No photos. Not so good if you like downloading pics.
Their highest "DVD" bit rate is really only average.

Remember when you were a kid, and you dreamed of owning a sweet shop. Video Box is that sweet shop. I've never grown tired of chocolate or sweets, and I've never got tired of porn.
There is so much on here, that it's a little mean spirited to suggest it's time consuming trying to dig out the gems. It can sometimes be fun to just browse. You can stumble upon something that you maybe wouldn't have bothered with. The good thing is, it's so cheap you can download 10 worthless videos, and have wasted no money at all. It means you can virtually try out stuff for free. If your taste is for vanilla, straight sex videos, there is enough here to keep you satisfied for just about the rest of your life.
The big weakness for me, is the lack of fetish material, but then when you look at the price, it's hardly surprising. It is a negative, but realistically, if this site had newer videos, and more specialised categories, the price would be triple what it is. But yes, this is the big weakness - too much old stuff, and too much of the same thing, with little variation. It's like a warehouse of cheap videos.
I linked to Video Box from Paysite Discounts, which means $3 off the $17.95 price. I'm surprised TBP don't have this offer, given how popular Video Box is with their people.
I don't wish to be too negative with the negatives, or too positive with the positives, but I have tried to be objective. I know Video Box is very popular with this site. Rightly so. I have to say I think it's still good value. The amount of very good straight sex videos, arranged in a way so that they are easy to download, from a well set out customer oriented site, means I would recommend this to anyone as their very first porn site.
I am not going to tilt too far into the negative because of VERY slow download speeds for me. I cancelled my subscription a few hours after joining because the download speed is so painfully slow I have to be very selective what I download. This undermines the advantage of the enormous amount of material there is on there. I know some of you do have problems with download speed where others have no problems at all.
I will just add that I was down to 4kb/sec on some newer videos, but the speed on the older videos is between 30-70 kb/sec. This may be what the problem is. The newer more popular videos are being downloaded by more people, therefore the speeds are slower. I'll leave it to you tech boffins to comment on that. In fact after attempting to download a number of videos and monitoring the speed, I found nearly all the newer ones were much slower than the older ones.
I wont mark down too much, because the speed may just be my problem. I have never had speeds as slow as this before on any site though. I know this review wont go down to well at TBP because you all love Video Box. It's just what I have found.
As a late edit - I have found some speeds on older videos of up to 300kb/sec. That is some variation! 4kb/sec-300kb/sec |

This site's strength is that it has a ton of content with 5 new DVDs added per day. At the date of this review they have exactly 12,880 DVDs which is just massive in comparison to other sites. They also offer multiple formats and the download times are pretty fast. Most, but not all of the the major DVD distributors at least have some DVDs on the site.
The problem that frustrates me the most though as a long time off and on member from since 2008 is that they want to make the site something its not. They have spent a ton of time and money over the past 2 years focusing on changing a website hundreds of members have grown comfortable with instead of perfecting what they are good at (downloads) and improving and updating the content . They are trying to make an experience sort of like a Video On Demand (VOD) site which plays to bringing you slightly dated non-exclusive content but a massive selection, quick streaming, etc. But the fact of the matter is this isn't a VOD site, its a download site. I have a VOD site I use (which has more content, streams faster, and has pay per minute), so when I sign up to VB its to download a scene not to stream it.
But to this effect VB has hundreds of DVD scenes that stream correctly, but the downloads are broken. You can send 1000 messages or emails to the support team, and no matter what, the problem will not be fixed because they simply don't care in my opinion. They drew you in with a monthly membership fee, and they figure you can keep paying to watch it as many times as you want, even if the download is scrambled, garbled, noisy, has green frames, or is simply half length of what it is supposed to be when streamed.
What annoys me the most is some of my favorite video companies like Jules Jordan, Red Light District, Platinum X, and Lethal Hardcore have tons of scenes that I've wanted to download and they are broken. Lately EVERY single time they upload a "new" Jules Jordan scene most of the scenes are broken. The WMV HIGH (which is their highest resolution) has corrupted encoding, so you are left with only low resolution MP4. If I send a support email it is ignored. If I or somebody else leaves a comment about the scene being faulty in the comment box below each scene, an administrator purposefully and quickly deletes the comment within an hour or two. This says they know about the problem, see people complaining about it, but just don't care.
A main problem is their dated content that they simply keep reposting, sometimes within the same week they upload the same scene 2-3 times. There is an ongoing joke in the member comments area about a scene by the pornstar Kat on a pool table that has been uploaded by the latest count 10 times already in varying lengths.
This site is becoming less useful each month and I keep telling myself to stay away and only sign up for 1 month a year and download all the scenes I liked from the past year rather than waste money renewing each month to have them add 10 scenes I liked (though only 6 of them actually work). That's the way I'd recommend anyone else to use this site. Find a better VOD site if you just want to stream because they will have more content, and newer DVDs. |
