Software engineers have this annoying desire to take something that works well and redo it so it no longer works. Their desire to add the latest "features" like floating windows that pop up unexpectedly in an irritating manner overrides the desire of the user for simplicity and ease of use. New versions always have bugs that require months or even years to fix.
VideoBox had an excellent site with 5 new DVDs added per day. Unfortunately, they just redid their interface as VB3 and basically ruined the site. I hope they will come to their senses and go back to the old interface, or at least give users the option. I am not against improvements or new ideas, but VB3 is a giant step backwards in terms of usability.
My rating drops from 95 to 70 because of VB3. That is how much I dislike it.
VB is one of two sites to which I have been a continuous member for more than 2 yr. It saddens me greatly to see it ruined.
With the new interface, I can no longer recommend it. |

This site caters to the anal,,DP,throat-gagging crowd.Nearly all updates feature these scenes-those that do not feature bargain basement DVD'S that you really do not want to watch due to poor technical quality or the unattractiveness of the performers.A new gimmick on Videobox,is Premium channels,an upgrade from the "premium subscription".These channels feature Vivid and Evil Angel.I have not subscribed to either,but have "previewed" some of the content however, it appears to be pretty much the same stuff I can get with my regular premium subscription,just newer. |

New channels are confusing and not adequetly explained for billing purposes. I was automatically billed to my credit card, without intending to subscribe to channels. I still nevr figured out if extra channels are by the day or by the month. When doing a search now thee is extra parameters to filter out unwanted channels. |

Why bother to have channels anyways? They are just a way to give you more of the same. |

The enormous amount of content, and the low membership cost, are probably the main reasons most reviewers have liked this site. However, much of the content appears to come from smaller producers, and is old, which is why they can likely keep their membership prices low.
If you are young and somewhat new to porn, it is a great bargain. If you are an old fart, like me, you will not be too impressed. I have just reviewed only the last month of "new" videos and have seen actors in them that were popular 10-15 years ago.
Therefore, older videos shot with tape will look no better when they are digitized, and this may be the reason why so many appear to be poorly lit, to cover up what is just not there.
Despite these major flaws in many of the videos, you are liable to find something worth downloading from this site, based on the shear number of videos available, and the 150 that would be added during a one month membership.
In sum, this site is worth a one month trial, if you have a fast connection, and lots of unused hard drive space. However, you will also need lots of time to sift through the content to find something worth downloading. |

I was disappointed with this site, perhaps it doesn't quite live up to the hype? Having watched it maintain the top spot on so many porn review sites I was really looking forward to a month or two's subscription. Whilst the site undoubtedly provides a huge archive of material at relatively low cost without any nasty DRM, I found myself really having to search to find stuff worth the disk space to download.
You wont have wasted your money if you subscribe to this site, but if you like high quality freshly released porn, don't expect the porn pleasure dome so many other reviewers seem to think they have found. |

Time to post a new review for 2015.
I would no longer recommend this site to most users. I am a long time off and on member for at least 6 years (I know because I have files that I downloaded from them dated 2009), and I've finally decided to call it quits on this site.
I rejoined yesterday to download a few new scenes they added over the past year, but was surprised how exactly they changed. They now no longer offer high resolution downloads on around 99% of their catalog. Previously they offered between 4 and 5 different formats. Although a few years ago they added typically 1 HD resolution DVD every couple of days, their highest resolution was in WMV for 99% of the videos. At anywhere from 2500-4000 kbps bitrate this was very good quality. Now the highest they offer is an MP4 that is around 1100 bitrate. For those not savvy on video quality, just to put it simply, the downloads look no better than you can find for free on many tube sites.
Coupled with the numerous duplicate scenes, erroneously encoded files that show up pixelated once downloaded, and a lack of new content due the changing industry. Videobox just seems out of touch with the demands of its customers.
Here are my ideas that might improve them:
-They should stop offering 5 DVDs per day if many are going to be duplicates.
-They need to find more exclusive content. I'm sure there are studios that are sitting on 4-6 year old content that they are willing to lease or sell to VB... especially in the foreign markets (Europe, Russia, Japan, Brazil).
-There are many American studios that have thousands of DVDs in their catalog but aren't making new videos in 2015, or may have a website that has not been updated in over 6 months with a new scene. Just a few examples off the top of my head: RedlightDistrict, Anabolic, and Vouyer Media. They should try and get some more of that.
-In 2015 ALL of their content, NEW OR OLD should be available in HD or at least DVD quality (3000+ bitrate). They seem to be heavily promoting things like the Roku... but do they seriously think people are watching that subpar video quality on their HDTV?
EDIT: I want to add this to the review since I didn't make it clear initially. The changes affect the streaming quality also, not just download quality. See comment section below.
They do a few things right such as the easy organization of the website to find what you are looking for, but the download quality and lack of new content not readily available elsewhere no longer makes this site a good value. |

I have to say I'm very disappointed with VideoBox since I've last visisted. Complete throttling of bandwidth, I'm getting complete stoppages in my download from either my manager or without the manager.
I've managed zero downloads. Downloads freeze at 99%. |

Don't bother with this site as a download portal. I can understand some throttling at certain GB values per day or at peak usages, but I was unable to download a single file.
Certain sites just make you want to pirate this shit without having to put up with lame tactics to punish those of us that pay. |

2) If you are nostalgic there is a lot of material from way back.

1) There is a lot of variety but much of it is multiple copies of the same material. I have found four copies of the same scenes.
2) Nostalgia is nice but having your favorite models in true HD is not gonna happen here.
3) The updates are lackluster and often "re-updates" making it look like their are adding new material when they are actually rehashing old material.
4) They removed all of the good quality WMV files. What is better a crystal clear 3GB WMV or a 95MB Mp4? It does not take a rocket scientist to answer this question. This is my biggest gripe removing HD scenes but not replacing them with similar quality.
5) You get a better deal from the Premium channel providers than going through VB. |

The bottom line is this. If you want variety to tickle your funny bone then this site might be for you. But I highly suggest passing up this site until they make some major changes. This used to be the greatest website hands down. But they have fallen far and hard. I do not personally suggest this site to anyone. |

Well I won't beat about the bush here so let's get straight to the point.
The content is more or less the same you'll find at any of the other 'multi dvd sites' For example you'll find tons of stuff from half assed companies what went under ages ago Pandemonium, Black Thunder...etc. You'll also find older stuff from Diabolic, Red Light etc..
7 hours for a 260mb download, are they fucking serious? Time of day? take your pick, just don't feed me the shit about off peak hours cause it's bull. I'm currently enjoying another 3 day tour with Devils Film and a full months sign up with Blacks on Blondes. Guess what, no download probs with either of them - except Devil's Film, which is still pretty slow - but looks fast compared to this crap.
Users from the UK will want to miss this one I'm afraid, peak hours in the US tend to run from 7am to 7pm, well just on this site anyway. |

Extremely valuable site and a must have for any serious porn user. The download speeds will keep your internet connection pegged. The offer different download packages and prices based on quality of download. Pay more for the dvd quality, you wont be sorry. Also, consider the long term package, it will save you money in the long run since you wont want to leave this site!
Downloading on this site is very easy. They do not seem to limit the amount of connections and they do support pausing downloads.
The bit rates for the videos here do vary a bit. They are usually around 5 MBit/s but I have seen some newer videos at nearly 12 MBit/s. 12 is a bit excessive, even the videos at 6-8 look great. The DVD resolutions are 720x480 or 640x480 for all the new additions and have been there for quite some time now. There are literally thousands of videos to choose from and the updates come every 5 hours!
I am currently a long term member of this site and they give a nice discount for joining long term. They offer 3 options for joining. There is the Basic plan for those who are not interested in DVD quality movies for whatever reason, you can join at $9.95. This is nice because they do not make you pay for something you wont use. There is a monthly plan of $17.95 that allows DVD quality downloads and a 10 month plan for $100 that also allows for the DVD quality.
I intend to stay for a long time!

Also they allow you to only download parts of a scene saving you time and hard drive space, plus you get only what you want. |
