What would be the purpose of that? The raffle reward system is great, but most of my surfing on this site is to read about the new sites other uses have found and see what they have to say, I also enjoy writing reviews on site that I love so that other users can check it out of themselves. PU uses any honor system when it comes us writing reviews and I not violate that code and cheat other users.

There is very little value in writing a fake review of a porn site. There are also plenty of idiots out there, who can get their kicks from doing just about anything, no matter how senseless. When I read PU reviews, whether I think the reviews are informative or detailed or not, I give the benefit of the doubt to the writers, and I believe the reviews are honest. That's my opinion and attitude.

Naw. It's never been in my nature to cheat. I don't consider fooling others into believing I'm real as "success."
I never cheated on tests in school and I never plagiarized anything, either. It's not something to be proud of, nor ashamed of.
But I do know for sure that some people think of cheating as normal -- something "everybody" does. They see people like myself as naive. But I don't value approval from such folks, anyway. What they do does not serve to explain the things that actually do work well in this world.
It's really important to be honest here at PU. After all, we're the ones who are doing our best to keep the content providers honest and up to standards. If our credibility goes down the tube, we'll be fucked.

This is one of those questions where I can't really give a definite yes or no answer. I have done a review on a site a friend subscribed for that I used a little.
But I guess the question is saying "Have you done a review for a site you haven't used as an actual member?" If that's the question then it's a definite no, I haven't.

I would hate to think I was reading a review that had been made up, and for that reason alone I would never dream of making up a review myself.
I cannot see the point of making one up, but I actually enjoy the process of reviewing a site myself, and trying to think up the pros and cons. Therefore, I could not get any pleasure from submitting a bogus review. So my answer is never have and never will!

I can not say that is something I have done. In fact there are plenty of sites I have joined and still have not reviewed yet. Besides, if we are just chasing the raffle tickets it is easy to review a site I have actually been to than one I have not.
Joining the site is the fun part anyway. It would be hard for me to do that anyway because I usually like to give an indication to how large the site is....kinda hard to do with seeing it.
And for those who have...please run straight into a doorknob, making sure it is at ball level.

I think it comes down to how motivated people are by the idea of getting some raffle winnings ... unless you're gunning for a "hardcore" badge but strikes me as a ridiculous concept and one that would be too hard pull off without piling up the negative trust votes.
Regarding the raffle, it still would take time to cook up a passable fictional review and for what? Increasing your raffle chances by maybe 1% or 2%? Not really worth it in the grand scheme especially in a community of this size where the regulars and big point leaders pretty much know each other.

The reviews on PU are better than any reviews on any other review site because they're written by real people, not PR hacks for websites. To post phony reviews would be a betrayal of everyone who makes such a positive effort to add to the quality of the site.

I don't think anyone's efforts on this site have been diluted, quite the reverse. It is obvious the people here are big fans of porn. The opinions expressed are generally, IMO, intelligent and thoughtful. This makes the site very enjoyable and also gives it a feel of quality and honesty.
I bet Wittyguy never thought this particular poll would cause such a reaction!

I have honestly always been a member when reviewing a site. I find it hard to believe a few members are cheating the system of giving a true honest review. The length people will go to for a few extra raffle tickets or points is ridiculous. I wish there was a way to get rid of fake reviews, but I Guess that is impossible. Maybe every review should have at least 6 cons and pros. I am starting to question the people who put like 2 pros and 1 con for a review.

It would be o.k. to rate a site low if the content they advertise is not what you find in the member's area. To see MILF type of models on a teen site would be one of those cases :-)

Yeah, but that's a natural thing. None would ever join a site with content he doesn't like. All this here at PU is about telling others if they can find what has been advertised by the owners in the preview(s).
I had reviews with slightly higher ratings as I would have normally given but I always stated that this was because I love the content so much.

This is the advantage of being like me and never trusting anyone! You don't get screwed by people you trust, because you don't trust anyone. On the other hand it makes you a lot less nicer person. I have had to make some pretty tough judgements of character in my life, which turned out to be correct ones. I'd back my judgement of people over just about anyone else's. It makes me an arrogant son of a bitch too.
But with Pinche, you could hardly call him a plant for a website that wants to promote its product. For me, this is the worst sort of thing as far as being untrustworthy goes. He hardly seems to have an alternative agenda, he's just a loose cannon. He probably came in after too much drink, or whatever, and just decided to have a laugh - which backfired. That's how it seemed to me anyway.

Strangely, the comments in this thread actually serve to strengthen my general trust level in the reviews I read on PU.
Based on the comments of so many members, with whom I agree, that reviews by rogues are not just bad but also are really a betrayal to the 95% of us members who try to keep this site as useful and honest as possible
The newbie reviews that look like they took about 1 minute of thought and say very little are easily ignored.
Conversely those written by members with a high number of positive trust ratings and/or people whose reviews attracted me to a site and my own opinion of the site matches theirs, always get my attention.
So I'm encouraged by the reaction. It says most of PU's members are motivated toward honesty in posting reviews, comments and replies. That's a good thing.
BTW, Pinche Kankun has been posting off beat posts for a long time, many of which are hard to understand, so his comments in this thread are consistent with his personal writing style.

Seriously, let it go. I checked out one of you subscription numbers and it does check out. I have no issue believing that you were a member to these sites. Doubt anyone would post nearly as much as you do with being a member to dozens of sites. That is not the question.
The problem is that now we do not have much reason to 100% believe that you are a member to every site you talk about. And I am not going to check all of them.
On that note. I hope none of those sites you listed are active. If so, you just told everyone your username and password. Especially that Homemade Uncensored site, it looks like it is only 3 days old. So unless you already canceled....
We love dirty jokes, lame jokes, and pretty much any joke....and somehow you still managed to find one that would piss us off.

I haven't given much thought on whether your reviews were true or all made up. To be honest life is too short for me to bother. If nothing else you have now learned 3 very important things.
Lesson #1 -Never cry wolf, unless there is one, because when there is one people won't believe you. Lesson#2 -People on a porn forum take the subject seriously. If they didn't they wouldn't participate.
Lesson#3-Saying a joke and writting one can sometimes be very different. When you are telling a joke the person sees your face and knows that it's a joke. The same can't be said when you write it. I wish you luck with your endeavor to redeem your trust rating.

Personally, I think if the PU members are going to take the results of this poll so seriously, and the PU staff members as well, the poll should never have been posted.
Even tho only 3 people out of 36 voted they had written 1 or more PU reviews without actually joining the reviewed site, I think the reaction of the PU members was to view those unknown voters with suspicion and distrust.
We really have no way of knowing whether the voters who voted they wrote a review without being a site member were stating the true facts, or whether they were being cute or provocative.
At least 1 PU member, Pinche Kankun, appears to have disabled his account because he feels the PU members no longer trust him.

I have no doubt that there are more fakes on here than you'd care to think about. Trying to win money for posting reviews is a temptation I'm sure some people can't resist. But, for the most part, a properly written review will tell if the user has had any personal experience with it. There's usually something in what they have to say about it that's unique to what they got out of the site. I tend to ignore reviews if they look like they've simply copied and pasted other peoples' comments.
