I hope porn diversifies to attract a wider audience, so yes less gonzo is my hope. I'd love for the prime time TV option, but we aren't Japan, so I don't see that happening.

Other. Pics, vids, not significantly more brutal. Also content for women and couples.

Other - I think it'll stay about the same exception for technical innovations like more 3D, HD etc.
I don't think it'll become more brutal - I think it's gone as far as it can legally go and as far as the models would let it go - and there's still plenty of non-brutal content out there which proves there's still a market for it.
I won't ever be shown on prime-time TV in the USA or UK where I live - our societies wouldn't accept it - and I wouldn't want it.

IDK, though probably still being porn. I figure we've seen all that can be linked as porn, so nothing new there. Delivery will probably in keeping with the times & technology. Financial health probably more in the hands of a few powerful people (isn't that just the way?).
What would be cool perhaps is if we could somehow get holographic porn delivered to the bedroom or couch.

Is this a question of where you would like it to go or where you expect it to go?
The two are not necessarily the same answer.

Even more diversity in the future, along with improved technology. Just like the internet and 100s of cable TV stations offer increased choices versus the 20 or less TV stations back in the 1950s and 1960s, porn will continue to fragment and evolve as technology improves. 3D and beyond. Simulacrum and sensory stimulation.

Following on from Capn's comment, I expect it to go in roughly the opposite direction to where I want it to go. I expect it to be all vids and no pics.
On sites that offer both at the moment, one of the most frequent comments on pic sets is "where is the video?" I doubt that there will be enough of us who prefer pics to keep pictures alive.
The costs for a new photographer starting to produce pictures are constantly increasing and the potential returns are getting smaller. Although the costs of entering video production are also increasing, there will be a potentially greater return. This will tend to shift the emphasis ever further towards video as the current photo shooters age and stop shooting without being replaced by new entrants.
It is somewhat cheaper and easier to produce video than stills. It is difficult to produce high quality video with high production values but I see a decreasing market for that too. What I see is an increase in low to medium quality, amateur style video produced on ever more available consumer video cameras and mobile phones. Video quality on mobiles will continue to increase. In the next ten years, I expect it to rival current consumer video cameras.
None of that is any use to me. I want more photos :-(

There will be virtual reality sucking and fucking through the Internet. Watching other people do it will decline in popularity.
And when the ISPs occasionally lose connectivity, it will really piss people off.

I honestly don't know where porn will be but I will be very surprised if most of the market isn't all internet.

REPLY TO #10 - pat362 :
The state of the porn art in June of 2002 compared to today can be a guide.
In 2002 the major source of porn was magazines and VHS videotapes. Magazines were timidly entering the hard core business. Back then most of the major magazines were experimenting with mild insertions (dildoes, fingers, etc.) and men with woodies were showing up in some cases. The "good stuff" was available on VHS tapes available in rental stores and we horn dogs copied off the salient parts for our collections. The internet porn biz was just starting with what now are called low res photos and short, lousy quality videos.
Today the vast majority of porn is web based with most of the remaining video stores barely hanging on with copy protected DVD's and marginally popular non-mainstream stuff. Magazines are struggling for survival.
The delivery systems for porn in 2022 are most likely going to be exclusively web based with a very simple interfaces to large screen 3-D TV screens. Magazines will disappear as will many of the video stores.
While there have been some who have discussed the possibility of reality delivery to include olfactory elements (smell-o-vision) and even tactile capability (simulated touch capability).
I've heard ideas like virtual sex being available but my limited mental capacity can't imagine how that can be accomplished.
In any case it will be a fun ride to see how porn advances over the next decade.

Out of fun I chose the Prime Time, but seriously, I have no idea. I fear that the vids will take a more dominant role because of the availability of huge flatscreens, 3D, etc. And if they figure out more about the brain some implant jacks for the head with virtual cybersex streaming and that sort. That's where you will have to be careful about starving to death in your chair while being fucked 24/7 though.

In 10 years all porn will be converted into a cold viscous fluid that is injected into the brain through the ear canal. At first there is a tingling sensation followed by flashing lights and your skin feels like its on fire for about 3-5 minutes. Finally all the images flash through your mind in about 1/100 of a second and it's all over. You're left with a feeling of regret and some suffer extreme depression afterward. Side effects include night tremors, night terrors, anxiety, depression, and - in rare cases - premature exsanguination.

It would be funny if everything turned into something like Idiocracy, where everything on TV was either porn or guys getting kicked in the nuts. Well, sad too I guess.

I chose less brutal - hopefully some of the more extreme stuff is behind us and we are seeing more sites that cater to couples, which is a good thing. However, as it becomes more mainstream, it may start to homogenise, which would be a shame for niche material...

This is an interesting question, but the answers don't cover a lot of ground. I think it will be a lot more diverse, and I think they will have to find new ways to bring in revenue as free tubes are cutting into their profits. We might even see all add supported porn sometime soon.
Who knows, but it will be very diverse, that's for sure.

There was a UK documentary about porn on UK TV recently. Porn studios are suffering, as we know, largely due to the live cam sites. They say the future is in the plot driven, scripted, high production value stuff that the amateur style pornographers don't have the resources to produce. Interesting.
