I admit I've joined a couple -- with mixed results. My favorite experience was with a site that required me to fill out an extensive questionnaire first ... it probably took me 45 minutes to an hour because I was trying so hard to be precise. When I finished and clicked on the "Find My Matches" link, I was told the site couldn't help me. :\ Apparently, I'm not matchable.

Yeah I am very dubious of normal dating sites so I would certainly not risk any adult dating sites, yeah there might be legit women on there but lets face it probably a small percent and the chances of anyone around near where I live are even slimmer, not worth the hassle.

I agree with JayG ..... for the same reasons he agreed with BadMrFrosty.

I'd only join one if it were an escort site and I had shitloads of dough to cast to the wind. I once joined a dating service that included some web stuff during the "World Wide Wait" era. It was really disappointing. The people who run these things are just out for a buck, and they'll use all kinds of tactics to fleece your ass. Then the people who join are full of shit about who they are.
I don't need to throw money down the drain just to be reminded that most people are assholes. I already know that.

Sure I've joined a few. You have to be very careful and ensure you follow safety rules - lot of timewasters on there too - but I met a few guys on there.
These are gay sites though of course, the dynamic might be different with men and women - I somehow can't imagine women having quite the same attitude to it, but what do I know!?
Most sites let you join free and then you pay more to upgrade to get unlimited messages etc.

As the question is "would you ever join a dating" the answer has to be probably not since i'm married but if the question had been "have you ever joined a dating site" (past tense) then i would have said yes I did dabble in that in the period between wives. I actually met my current filipino wife via an internet dating site and as I was actually in the Philippines in her city at the time was able to hook up with her that same evening and the rest as they say is history.
